I came here on several occasions and every time I come here the visit is always amazing! Recently, I celebrated my birthday here. From the hostess to the waitress and staff...everyone is friendly, ready to make your dinner and experience amazing. I wish I had taken pictures of the food but we got a 12 oz steak, 2 Chilean sea bass dishes, and salmon dish. For dessert we got the lemon sorbet, chocolate cake, 10 layer carrot cake and the warm pound cake (not too sure of the name), but everything was delicious! The waitress made sure that everything was fine and the manager goes around as well to help with anything needed. The bathrooms are kept clean and ladies the bathroom always has anything you need from woman necessities to bobby pins. They are here to help in case something unplanned happens! Oh, we also tried a salted caramel dessert drink and the espresso martini which were both very good! read more

Ocean Prime - Chocolate cake with a little lemon sorbet - Seafood Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

Lobster was good, crab was good, huge servings. Staff was very kind, lots of seating available, pretty views.

Came here on a Monday night and service was relatively slow. Our waiter was very friendly and nice. Our food overall was good, but not worth the price tag there was nothing special about it. I got the surf and turf with rice and sautéed mushrooms. The best part of the meal was the mushrooms. The lobster tail was very salty and my ribeye was just ok. Don't think I'll be back again but happy we were able to try something different! read more

Excellent restaurant. The bar staff are always friendly and there's often times live music and an upbeat atmosphere here making this not only a good option for dinner but also for drinks. It is a bit on the pricy side but the food quality is great and the service is good. I appreciated the variety in the menu especially when coming here as a repeat dinner. read more

Went again last night these guys don't miss a beat! I had the surf and turf and it was cooked to perfection. The other guest at my table had filet mignon. I asked them how it was and they couldn't even get words out to describe it said it was a "10". If i'm going to have one last meal in my life it would be here. Thanks folks see you again soon... read more

Great food!! Fantastic service, great ambiance. Definitely will be coming back for the Alaska crab and scallop apps super delicious

This was my second time here and again the food was excellent. For drinks: Definitely have to try the Berries & Bubbles! It's a fun drink. For apps: The tuna roll and calamari are tasty For dinner: The twin lobster tails and the ribeye and shrimp was delish! For dessert: The carrot cake it really 10 layers and very good. The blueberry lemon cheesecake is also good. My friend was disappointed with the Baked Alaska bc she said it was Hershey chocolate sauce instead of real chocolate! They also have a few bands that play in the bar area. Nice spot for dinner or just drinks! read more

Great food I had the Tuna steak with grilled Brussels sprouts. Friends had the Ribeye and salad. Nice wine selection. read more

Did not meet expectations given we spent over 4 bills for two. We've been to the location LA which we've enjoyed but this one did not perform to expectation. When I made the reservation I was asked if it was for a special occasion which I said yes however nothing happened which was disappointing. No big deal but why bother asking if you're not going to do anything to make the dinner special? Sadly we will not be back as I really wanted to like this place. There are much better options in the city such as Moo and Grill 23. read more

My wife and I had a special occasion to celebrate, I thought Ocean Prime would be a nice place to try. Off the bat, service was friendly, good start. Cocktails were ordered and eventually came out, they were good. An hour and ten minutes after we arrived, our meals came out. The appetizers we ordered never appeared. My steak was good, similar to a good chain style steakhouse in the suburbs, not Boston good. Sauce that was ordered with it didn't arrive. Wife accepted the offer from the waiter to make a surf and turf from items she selected. I assumed (poorly) that it would be priced appropriately, turns out they just charged her for 2 full entrees, at $120. Mistakes were discussed with waiter, we didn't pay for the missing appetizers or steak sauce. I received 1 comped drink and 1 comped sorbet dessert. Manager did not stop at our table. Ignoring the issues above, the food was good, just like you would get at a decent steak and seafood chain anywhere but you are paying Boston prices. If going for a nice meal in the city, there are many better options. read more

My wife and I went here yesterday, Sunday and had a wonderful experience! The wait and bar staff were all very pleasant and helpful! The menu has plenty of options from which to choose! My wife had the daily special of lobster and steak and I had a perfectly cooked 8 oz. filet! We shared a great twice baked potato and Brussel sprouts!Their deserts especially the 10 layer carrot cake were terrific! The one blip of the entire experience was with the valet stand! The cost is a reasonable $22.00 but when presented with $25.00 the valet was not able to make change, so I think you should plan to pay $25.00. read more

We dined on a Friday night in September. Party of 4. We were seated in the very back room which was somewhat small and maybe had 8 tables. Service at first was slow. We did receive bread and water about 15 minutes before our server came to take drink orders. Service after that was average. We had a couple dozen oysters which were excellent. For dinner we had three steaks and the scallops. All the steaks were Just OK. We all Expected much more flavor. For the price we were disappointed. The scallops were just ok but nothing special. For sides we had the au gratin potatoes which were excellent and the asparagus and creamed spinach both were just ok. We did have two desserts that were excellent. Cocktails were good and we had coffee which was like warm. Bill for dinner four part was 600 without tip. So for 720 bucks we were let down. I don't mind paying for excellence but this was a mediocre average experience in all areas. We won't return. read more

We expected a better experience for our first visit from the reviews. The food was very good, although the sea bass was served lukewarm. Service started out great but ended poorly as the restaurant got busier, waters were left unfilled, long waits without acknowledgement for coffee, bill. The restaurant is hectic, noisy and not relaxing. Back to Capital Grill we go. read more

Read the fine print on the wine menu or you won't be feeling fine. We ordered a bottle thinking it was $80 but it was $80 for the larger oz serving aka $160 bottle of wine. I've never been to a restaurant that doesn't have bottle prices on the menu. They clearly broke out "bottles by the glass below" and this was a section above so revert deceiving. Maybe we should have done the math differently and shouldn't have just assumed but just FYI. Takes a good dinner to wish I stayed home. read more

This place was very disappointing, when eating in a high end Steak and Seafood restaurant I expect excellent food, and when paying $50 plus for a steak I don't expect to have to spit parts of it out and be unable to eat other parts. My wife got fish, but an unusually small portion. I reserved this place a week in advance and we were looking forward to going, our table was stuck in the corner so I looked at the wall for the evening. Very disappointed that leaving a high end restaurant that the best part about the meal was the Chop Chop salad! Lots of other Steak houses out there that seem to know how to cook them! With my experience I would not recommend read more

Words cannot describe how incredible our experience was last night at dinner. The place was slammed - which is to be expected on a Saturday night - but the hostesses were incredibly warm and gracious. We had the surf n' turf appetizer - those scallops were cooked perfectly and the flavor of the entire dish was on point. Main courses: surf & turf (literally the best, most perfectly butter-poached lobster tail we've ever had paired with an unbelievable filet, slightly spicy spinach, and an amazing potato pancake), filet oscar style (be still my heart), and lobster mashed potatoes (we're talking lump lobster, perfectly seasoned and cooked). We ended the night with a perfect creme brulee. Mind you, my bf is not a fan of it (whoops!) but he ate every last bite, stating he was now a fan...but only OP's. Also, the Manhattans were on point! The food blew us away and the experience/ambiance makes us excited for our return. read more

I dine out regularly at Fleming's which remains one of my favorites even though it's a chain so I figured I would give this place a try. Service was fine. Ribeye 50.00 was very disappointing, too fatty but the flavor was good when I could find some meat on it. I had the Truffle Mac and Cheese which was exceptional, al dente, delicious which is why the 2 star. I got the carrot cake to go and I could Not even eat it. I had to throw it out. It had the texture of sponge. Overall disappointed, definitely a miss. read more

I always enjoy coming here, whether alone or with friends. Their cocktails are amazing and the snacks/appetizers are just as food as an actual meal! I brought my friend here for a little birthday celebration last night-- I didn't even know they had live music! What a nice treat can't wait to go back again! read more

Location, Food,Customer Service and Drinks A+. I have nothing negative to say about this place. I went here to celebrate my birthday for the first time and all I gotta tell whoever is reading this is that I will go back. I love the atmosphere, If you don't want to be in the dining area there is a nice lounge where you can just hang out with friends/date/love ones, listen to a live band and enjoy the food and drinks. If you go to Ocean Prime, you must try the Mashed Potatoes with Lobster and the drink I had was the Berries and Bubbles and I loved it... such an exotic drink, my husband had a margarita with Don Julio Tequila, pretty good but ask for it with no ice so you can enjoy your drink. I got the serve and turf with scallops instead of lobster and it was delicious, flavor was on point! the waiter was super nice and I tell ya, he deserved his great tip :) After you are done with dinner they don't make you feel rushed or uncomfortable like other places and I give OP two thumbs up... Five stars. read more

I have been here 8 or 9 times now and it's my favorite restaurant in Boston. I've had the filet mignon, the sushi, the salmon & the sea bass among other meals and have always been impressed and very satisfied! My favorite side is jalepeño au gratin, but I also love the truffle mac & cheese and the truffle fries. For drinks I always stick with the manhattan or a glass of red wine. The last meal I had was the 14 oz NY strip with the maytag blue cheese crust with a side of jalepeño au gratin, a glass of red wine & I finished it off with the baked Alaska for dessert; the whole meal was amazing (see the pictures attached). My final recommendation would be to sit at the bar because the atmosphere is great, they have live music on the weekends & the bartenders are incredible. read more

Great Valentine's dinner with my sweetheart. Food was amazing and our waiter Parker was awesome!

I had a 5 star experience at Ocean Prime thanks to Hillary, and especially Harry. First off, it was a Thursday evening, around happy hour and there was a great musician playing the guitar and singing--dining alone, I loved the entertainment. Hillary had the bartender mix up a delicious citrus mocktail for me. I ordered the surf and turf, a New York strip and blackened scallops, both were so delicious, plus I really enjoyed the Brussels Sprouts. Notably, my steak was initially over cooked, Harry took care of it immediately and sufficiently. Great customer service! Thank you! read more

I've eaten here a few times and each time was pretty good. The salmon, crab cakes and oysters were delicious. Truffle fries were a nice addition as well. I tried the Berries & Bubbles cocktail, it's topped with dry ice smoke. Overall, I would recommend checking Ocean Prime out! read more

Went there for a nice dinner on January 5th there was 8 of us total. The bar atmosphere was great and even had live music and the bartenders were on point. The food and drinks were excellent but the reason for the one star removed was due to our waiter Ed he was very cold and not helpful what so ever. If we are paying a good amount of money which believe me we did you would think our server should be on point or how about even personable. I wanted to ask if we could even switch for the nice gentlemen pouring out water. He wasn't informative at all and anytime we spoke to him or had to ask a question he seemed like he couldn't be bothered or like we were irritating him. I would defiantly go back to give them another chance and bc the food was delicious but would not want to be seated at one of his tables. We gave him greater then a 20% tip which he didn't deserve one bit. read more

Joined some colleagues at the bar for dinner while in town. Lobster bisque was very tasty, poured into the b owl table side. Interesting preparation - the lobster was in a breaded ball. Visually appealing and taste to match. Had the filet, oscar style - was very tasty and would have again, but it wasn't my favorite oscar experience I've had. Served over asparagus spears. Button mushrooms were also delicious, albeit too much for just one person to eat - recommend sharing. Nice wine list. Staff was attentive, an all around enjoyable meal and evening. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants. From the service to the food to the atmosphere its a first class experience! We had some guests from out of town and brought them there last weekend. Oh my goodness, what an amazing meal! Visiting Boston for the night with my fiancé in the seaport district and we were trying to find a nice seafood/steakhouse restaurant for dinner. We just recently learned about butter poached lobster, so we both knew this was the place to check out when we were browsing menus online. I made a reservation about 15 minutes before we showed up. We were seated right away with no wait at a table that was far enough away from other guests that we were able to have a nice, quiet, intimate dinner. We both decided to order the surf n' turf, which was an 8 oz filet mignon with butter poached lobster and a "potato cake". We did rare + for the steak preparation. It was so beautifully plated and absolutely delicious! One of the best and most satisfying meals I've had in a long time. The flavors of the dish really blended and worked well together. Additionally, there was barely a wait for us to be served. The service was also top notch... Our waitress was Lisa and she was very friendly and helpful. But it wasn't just her who made the service a pleasant experience. The waitstaff was phenomenal, never had to wait for a water refill. Overall, it's the first time in a long time that I've walked away from a restaurant feeling completely satisfied and no complaints on what could have been better. I would highly suggest checking this restaurant out. read more

Wow. What a great find. Vast wine selection with many Willamette Pinot noir, my favorite. Salmon was perfectly prepared, rare. Yum

On Saturday, April 14th, I hosted a birthday party for a friend with 11 guests. Our experience at Ocean Prime was extremely sub-par considering our bill was nearly $1,200 prior to tip. I made reservations a month in advance and when we arrived, on time, the table wasn't ready. We had to wait by the door for 10 minutes before we were seated. The experience did not improve once we were seated. Our server was not at all attentive. Very slow with our initial drink order and throughout dinner we had to continuously try to catch him to refill our drinks. We had to ask more than once for bread and his excuse was that the kitchen was making more butter (seriously?). Mind you, this is on a Saturday night and the table next to us received bread immediately and were sat after us. When I ordered apps for the table he asked me if "that was all" in a very condescending manner to which I told him, "Yes, because we all plan to order entrees and dessert". Some of the food was fine. Other orders, like the sea bass, were incredibly bland. Finally, at the end of the meal, I had to get up and go find another server to process our bill payment because our server had disappeared. I was honestly embarrassed that I had scheduled such an important event at a restaurant with such poor service. The bottom line is that if you are charging $50+ for an entrée the service needs to be a much higher caliber. Why, you may ask, am I posting this review a month after the experience. I have reached out to the restaurant directly twice in order to give them an opportunity to respond, including filling out a post-dining survey that I receieved via email. Since I have received no contact from them, save additional marketing emails, I thought to share my experience. read more

The food was perhaps the best I've had in Boston ever. Only reason I'm giving this a 4 and not a 5 is because our waiter completely forgot about us after he got his hands on a very large table that was alluring in bottles upon bottles of wine. Quite the table to serve on compared to our table of 2 who wanted two glasses of wine each and fresh napkins. This was poor service because we were ignored for 90% of the time, but the food once it finally came out to us(Much later than the large table ) was incredible. Perfectly cooked flavorful beautiful. If our attending I suggest you take a big crowd with you it's quite an event. For a date, id stear you away because it's quite frustrating to have no food and no filled cup on a special date. read more

By far the worst high end steak house i have ever been to . First off not that its a big deal to me but this place has zero atmosphere . As far as the food goes terrible . I started off with the clamlesss chowder. I think i got one clam in the whole bowl. The steaks may have been good if cooked correctly. 2 out of the 4 people in my party had there steaks severely over cooked . The manGer was great about getting them new ones but it just mAde for a unpleasant experience when the table was eating in shifts . Also the service not good in the middle of this disaster our waitress went M.I.A . We could have used another bottle of wine but by the time she returned we were just done with ocean prime. I brought couple new clients and was pretty embarrassed with the whole situation. If yur gonna spend the money your better off some place else . This place is horrible read more

The restaurant is a little bit stupid, when we came at 8pm with no reservations, the staff asked us to wait for 1hour. However, then I opened the website and made a reservation on Opentable at 8:15pm. Finally, we got a seat at 8:17pm. How could that happen??The foods are very delicious, especially the ribeye+ shrimp and sautée mushroom. The Berries and Bubbles is very fancy, but too sweet. It's not as delicious as it looks like. read more
