We have now had 2 late lunch dates here at Ocean Pho, and each time was a pleasant experience. Well attentive staff, nicely seasoned food, clean environment (including bathroom) and reasonable prices. Food always comes out hot and you get more than plenty of fresh toppings and sauces. Banh Xeo egg crepe was delicious!! Egg rolls were tasty and the spring rolls were good too. Peanut sauce is okay but a little overpowering with plum or hoisin?.. (my own preference) My favorite pho bowl so far is #6 Perfect for these rainy days or if your getting over a cold. I've been looking for a good place to buy banh mi in Redlands, but unfortunately this wasn't it. Almost $19 for two bbq chicken sandwiches. No fresh cut jalapenos, although the menu says they have them, small sandwiches, store bought french rolls that were not toasted or even warmed, and they gave us the sandwiches to go without any sriracha or sambal sauce. This was my first time ordering from this Vietnamese restaurant, and I'm not even sure what to make of it, because is surely wasn't pho. I want to say that maybe it was completely wrong because of Covid, but I don't think a pandemic would cause the restaurant or cook to forget the basic ingredients in pho broth like anise, cardamom, or cinnamon. The broth had absolutely no flavor, and the sweetness tasted really weird, like granulated sugar instead of rock sugar, I'm still in shock. I guess if you like your food americanized then this place is for you, but if you appreciate genuine food, then go to another Vietnamese restaurant. Nice place. Okay pho. I come for lunch maybe once a month here hoping it will be better then the last time. Usually its consistently okay. That's not a bad thing. Not a great thing either. The pho broth is good but the meat is usually tough. The meat I refer to trying are the tai steak and the bo vien meatballs. AMAZING PHO!!! So happy Redlands now has a place close by for pho. Got the shredded chicken pho with yummy white meat (I'm usually super picky on my meat, but loved this one!) and my mom got the veggie pho with tofu. This place is beautiful inside. Came in to have a late dinner with my sister and best friend. Spoke highly about this place because I've been here for lunch various of other times and was never disappointed. However, tonight was. Ordered steak pho and the broth was so oily. My best friend ordered the shrimp pho and it was just as bad. Could not enjoy it because of the density of the oil. My favorite go to! I have been obsessed with this place for a few years now. The pho is absolutely delicious and CLEAN. The Beef Spring Rolls with peanut sauce is a must ! The steak skillet is yummyyyyyy. But they know when I come in I always have to get my Lemon Grass Chicken and make it Extra Spicy. The services is something you can get used to. But when they see you enjoying your food and returning.... they start treating you kind of like an old friend. I love this place. I've had the pleasure of trying pho soup back in 2004 before it was a thing. My Vietnamese friend insisted that I try it, and being a food adventure, I'm glad I gave it a try. Since, I've dined and 100s of different pho restaurants in Southern California. I have come to th3 conclusion, that this place serves the best chicken pho soup I've ever tasted. It was packed with flavor, the broth wasn't great, the chicken was tender, and the noodles weren't under or over cooked. It was absolutely perfect. Curious about the freshness of a delivery order from this restaurant, I decided to order in. Same thing. Top notch. There's no pho restaurant in Southern California that's better than Ocean Pho. Dining in, the greeter was nice and sat me right of way. Dining in was a lack luster experience mainly because the ambience didn't have the traditional feel you look for when Dining at Vietnamese restaurant. I believe this is something they can easily fix however: traditional Vietnamese music, a few design changes and I think this place would be a gem. I'm giving it 5 stars despite my criticism of my dine in experience because the quality of the soup was that good. Eat here if you want the best tasting pho you ever had. read more

This was the first time dining at this location, and we were greatly disappointed. The pho was good, but a second chicken noodle dish was heavily covered in a fish sauce. So my kids wouldn't touch it. The service was horrendous. We had to ask for our drinks twice, while watching our server drinking a Thai tea at the front desk. When we called her over, she had food in her mouth . I watched another couple come in to order food to go, and they also had to wait for her to finish chewing to answer. My girlfriend and I have been in a few times. So far the food has been good and the service is on top of everything. We get the Pho with rare steak. I will say that the meat in the regular order is very tough. However, that being said, for $1 more you can get the filet mignon upgrade which is fantastic. The meat is so tender. The broth is well flavored and is on par with any other Pho place I have been to. We also get the tofu spring rolls. The peanut sauce was tasty and had a good consistency to it. We tried Ocean Pho a few nights ago since we had heard good things and was excite about a new option. Like other reviews, we were surprised with the size of the restaurant. The decor is nice and looked awesome inside. 10 minutes into standing around, it went downhill from there We finally got a seat in one of the few booths. We got water right away but then waited 15 minutes before we finally motioned to the waiter to take our order. We ordered a custom pho (more on that later), pan fried flat noodle combo and egg rolls. 10 minutes later spring rolls show up. We explain we ordered egg rolls and they take them away. Another 20 minutes go by and our order and the egg rolls show up. All of the food we got was very generous in portion and had good flavor. We finished our meal and saw that people were waiting to sit down so I went to the register to pay since they hadn't come to our table once after they brought our food. Our bill came to just shy of $40!? I'm not cheap, nor do I mind paying $40 for a meal that's worth it. My noodles were $11, the egg rolls were $6 but Pho was over $20?! They charge piece by piece and evidently we didn't see that in the menu. Now if we had know that, we would have ordered something else, but we're em the lack of service, the price and how small it was, we won't be coming back. read more

ZERO STARS!!! I don't recommend AT ALL. HORRIBLE service. Not sure if it was the owner but he sure acts like he is. I asked if we could sit outside because it was a nice day and it was full inside. We were told we had to pay first which was fine with us. All of the sudden it got cold and windy and as people were leaving we asked if we could sit inside. He said no very rudely and said we couldn't go inside since we paid for outside and for next time to wait for a table inside. We should of left at that point but we didn't. Paid my tab and I ordered a to go item. I did not realize the item I ordered is spicy. I was given a choice of regular, basil or chili oil. I said not the chili oil. My family and I have been here many times. We came here tonight, but we were very disappointed. Restaurant seems to be under new ownership. Pho portions were very small in large bowl. When I asked for more noodles, I was told I would be charged extra. Noodles in one of the soups seemed under cooked also. I went into Yelp to see reviews and I noticed customers have recently complained about the same thing. I was very upset and showed manager bad reviews, after she made it seem like I don't know Pho portions. It is very sad this place has new management/owners. So disappointed with this branch, I absolutely love the ocean pho in Yucaipa, so when this branch opened my family and I were so stoked that there was one closer to us. Upon walking in, the servers refused to move a couple of the smaller tables together to accommodate us, even though there was more than enough space to do so. And they had placed multiple guests of two in booths where my family of five could have fit leaving three tables that only sat two people (not very smart). We were willing to wait a little and asked if we could see a menu and pre order our food so it would be ready when there was a booth available and they said that they could not do that either!!!! So extremely disappointed, our excitement quickly died and we decided not to put up with the horrible service and rude servers and to just leave. I hope management talks with their employees and sorts this out otherwise they're not going to maintain a good following and I would hate to see this place go out of business due to poor service because I really do think that their pho is one of the most authentic, but unfortunately not worth the rude service.
