I've been to Ocean Pho a few times now, and honestly, the food is pretty good. The pho is flavorful, portions are generous, and it's a spot I keep coming back to when I'm craving pho. I noticed there are quite a few reviews complaining about bad service and orders being incorrect. In my personal experience, I haven't had any major issues, but I can see why some mistakes happen. One thing that drives me crazy is when servers don't write down orders. The young lady who took our order had to come back and confirm it with me twice. At that point, it would have been easier to just write it down the first time. To be fair, I think a lot of the negative reviews could be avoided with that simple change. When you're trying to memorize multiple orders, mistakes are bound to happen. Wrong orders lead to frustrated customers, and frustrated customers leave 1-star reviews. I had a really disappointing experience at Ocean Pho. 7/26/26 The server spent most of the time watching TikTok at FULL volume while we were trying to eat and we were the only ones in there... I politely asked if he could turn it down, and instead he turned on a loud anime/cartoon/OBNOXIOUS thing on the TV. When I asked if he could lower the TV volume, he started me in the eye, grabbed the remote and pointed it up at the TV without breaking eye contact and lowered the volume by 3 points and continued watching his own videos loudly on his phone. On top of that, we asked if our bowl of pho could be split, and he refused... We ended up trying to split the HOT soup ourselves at the table, spilling it everywhere because there was no help or accommodation. WHILE HE WATCHED. Not even going to get into the fact he didn't greet us, ask if we wanted any drinks or check on us once. Didn't even bring us the check. I stopped here for a quick meal before going to the movie theater across the street. I decided to keep things simple. I ordered an appetizer and some fried rice with pork. The egg rolls were OK. (This is not a Chinese place so the textures and flavors might be a little bit different than what you might expect from a traditional Chinese restaurant. This is a Vietnamese restaurant so if you wanna choose the best dishes, choose Vietnamese cuisine.) The dining area is pretty small. There are several tables that could fit a group of four or possibly put two tables together to fit a group of eight. The server was nice and helpful. I had no complaints there. The portion of my fried rice was very generous. That was a nice surprise altogether I ordered three items and it cost me about $25. That still feels expensive to me, especially when I didn't order anything fancy I had egg rolls and fried rice and a Thai iced tea. Nonetheless, at some point you start to say to yourself this food is like street food. It was never designed to be expensive like this. Why are they charging so much in this post pandemic world ? In summary, my experience was pretty good. The food was decent. I would order the rice again. I didn't really care for the eggrolls, though the Thai iced tea was good. The price was kind of high, but the portion of the fried rice was very generous. I would rate this place at about a 3.5. i tried this pho today for the first time via uber eats, the thought itself is OK. It's not the best I've ever had but it will do. It's hard to find a good for place because I just moved into the area. I had an issue with the containers that they bring the food in. it is a bowl that the broth is in, but in the same container is the raw meat and the noodles. My concern was the raw meat was sitting above the hot broth so when I touched the raw meat, it was EXTREMELY warm. i ended up boiling it all right away because of that, so hopefully i don't get sick. Also, i ordered tendon, and this is the first time i've ever seen hairs on my tendon. not sure if i will order here again. read more

Diane and I ate lunch here for the first time. I ordered Vegetarian Egg Rolls and a beef-broth-based Filet Mignon & Shrimp Pho, and she had a requested chicken-broth-based Filet Mignon & Shrimp Pho. We both liked our dishes. But the Sweet & Sour Sauce served with the Egg Rolls was not fruity or sweet enough. We received plenty of sprouts, mint, and Jalapenos to dress up and further season our large bowls of Pho, and the several strands of cooked noodles inside added to the enjoyment of them. The beef was lean and tender, and the shrimps well cooked. Service was good, except Diane's bowl first came out with onions that were requested to be kept off her Pho. Seating was at servicable but rather spartan tables and chairs. I was visiting my family and my sister lives in this area where Ocean Pho is located and I wanted to try it.. their restaurant is immaculately clean especially the restroom which tells you their kitchen is also clean.. their food is very good and they give you a very nice portion of meat in any of the meal you order which I like considering how highly the cost of meat are now a days but they still want their customers to be satisfied.. the pricing is very reasonable also .. service was very good also and we didn't have to wait very long considering the location they are at can be very busy on the weekends . First timer here to pick up an order to go. Parking was limited but I managed to find a spot in a timely manner. The place itself is pretty small inside, and the counter is straight ahead once you enter. I got the filet mignon pho and some chicken wings. The pho was good but the wings were pretty bad. The flavor of the sauce for the wings was great.. but that all goes out the window when the chicken tastes dry and rubbery. On top of that.. the service was just ok. Looked like the woman in charge came to deliver my order to me. Just a "here you go" with no eye contact and when I said thank you, just silence as she walked away. We came in an hour and a half before closing and were seated quickly. We got menus, utensils and even water without asking. First thought was "wow they have stepped up their game". I've already been here a couple times, usually with a gentleman in the front helping. Unfortunately he wasn't there that night. Very poor service from the staff and no inclination of trying to help make the night go smoothly. I had a question about the filling in the fried wontons that couldn't be answered until 10 minutes later. Only to be told it was cheese filled, placed my order to then be told it was a combination of pork, crab, and cheese. Though the restaurant is small, it's neat and clean cut. Modern black decor with nice light fixtures. As for the restrooms I don't have a clue if they're clean or not. The menus are nice but doesn't list anything. It only has the number of the dish, the name of the dish in English and underneath that the name of the dish in Vietnamese. This location is in Redlands, made up of predominantly non Asian folks. I would of thought that the menus would of had a better explanation of at least what items make up the dish. Makes it easier on folks who are looking out for allergies. We placed an order for three rice dishes but yet a bowl of Pho showed up at our table. It seemed as though our waitress got the numbers confused. Staff here should really use a notepad or an ordering sheet so they won't confuse dishes. The rice dishes came with too much rice and little meat. The meat was dry and color was lighter than what's expected for the certain grilled meat. On top of that, there was a black hair on one of the rice dishes. Along with that, we ended up adding an appetizer--black peppered fried chicken with lime. But when I bit into it, it smelled too much like old chicken and all it tasted like, was lime. While we were there for over an hour, no one came to check up on us or to fill our water. There were two staff members in the front and there were only two tables with customers. I don't get why we couldn't have been checked on. I understand that I asked quite a few questions during my visit, but that shouldn't have stopped a staff member from trying to make my visit as enjoyable as possible. There are more authentic Vietnamese cuisine restaurants in the area, I'll go to a more old school one where I know I'll get better service, and better food quality. Ps. While I was there, I was wondering why I didn't get a bowl of broth with my rice dish, I thought maybe it didn't come with it. I looked up the menu online and it said it does come with it. I ordered through a food delivery app so this review is purely based on the food received and how I received it. Oh, where to start. I ordered the fish rice porridge and the grilled pork paste rolls. First two stars docked - the order arrived late. Why? Because they didn't make my porridge. And then the driver said she had to drive to the other Ocean Pho to pick it up. Third star docked - the rice porridge had actual chunks of fish in it. That is the porridge's only saving grace. Sadly, the only flavor to the fish was that of freezer burn. The porridge itself was bizarrely sweet and had so much pepper in it, I couldn't finish eating it. Fourth star docked - the rolls were tasteless, wrapped in a way that caused them to burst and spill the veggies and rice noodles all over when I picked them up to eat. So anybody who follows my reviews knows that I love Pho. In my opinion, it's one of the few perfect foods out there. You can spice it up and down to taste. You can pick your protein and veggie levels. You can even order it all veggie if you like. I can eat it even if it's 115F outside. It's pretty hard to mess up Pho. Usually, the worst that happens is the broth is bland and flavorless. The broth is pretty important for Pho (or any other kind of soup dish). And yet...........somehow this Ocean Pho location has managed to botch their signature dish both times I've visited here. Ocean Pho is a small chain of Pho restaurants. This one is located in the Mountain Grove outdoor mall on the periphery of their food court area, right next to Jojo's Grill-A-Dog. They have what you'd expect to find at a typical Pho spot. As I said before, I've eaten here twice. Once with the wifey and once alone. Wifey is not fond of Pho, so she ordered their version of Orange Chicken with fried rice. Bluntly put - my Pho (brisket with beef balls version) tasted...fishy. Not only that.. the wifey's food also had a slight fish odor and tasted to it.. even her fried rice wafted of fish oil of some kind. It made everything just taste... wrong... As an added bonus; we both had the "bubble guts" a couple of hours after we had finished eating and had gotten home. No bueno. No bueno at all. So a couple of months later, I decided to try them again by myself. I ordered the same thing... and the odor/taste of fish was STILL THERE!! *blink blink blink*. At least I didn't have intestinal distress this time!! I tried bringing this to the attention of my server, and she just smiled and said "yes that's how the chef does it" HUH?!?!?! Okay so I'm not an expert expert on Pho, but I know it's not supposed to taste like that (unless I'm ordering a seafood dish), and certainly, my wife's food should not have tasted like that either. Nor should give us the bubble guts! I seriously believe they need a new chef here at this location. The taste (and smell) of my food both times has been off-putting. I'm not sure if their other locations prepare their food similarly, but this has made me a little leery of the chain in general. Exercise caution here, gentle reader. This is the way. read more

I came here a few weeks ago after watching a Movie across the street. Despite looking at the reviews, from my personal experience I was blown away with by the Orange chicken and fried rice. The Orange chicken was crispy and not greasy. 100 times better than Panda Express. The fried rice believe it or not was very tasty, not too salty. I took a terrible picture but besides the food.
