So I was craving seafood boil on a Sunday and I usually go to another local place that I love but when we got there the wait was over an hour. I was willing to wait cause the craving was REAL but then I saw their score from the health department and looked at their "dings" and said "F THAT! I'm not eating here." So I looked up other places and came across this place which I've heard mixed reviews about. So I decided to give it a try since they had a good health score and it was something new. First off I'm going to start by saying we walked right in with NO WAIT time!! Literally sat down as soon as we walked in! The service was great; our waiter was super friendly and attentive and checked on us multiple times. Not to mention they have really good deals and a lot of other options for those who don't want or like seafood boil. I say that because my bf doesn't care for it but he sucks it up so I can have it every once and awhile and finds something else on the menu which is usually only chicken tenders or fish and chips lol this place had a variety of different options which was really nice! The ambiance was nice and quiet and very clean. The bathrooms were clean and they even have a handwashing station in the front so you don't have to go in the bathroom. The only thing I didn't care for much was their "house sauce" not sure what it was called but it's the one that has all the flavors mixed together! We got the mild spicy and the spice was great but the flavor was a little bland in MY opinion. Didn't taste much like anything! I also REALLY LIKE how they bring you a metal bowl to put your seafood in. That's a GAME CHANGER. Overall I would go back to this place no doubt and highly recommend it! First time trying this place per recommendation from a friend and overall I give them a 2 out of 10. The service was good , they were attentive and nice. The place looked clean and tbh we were the first ones there so there weren't many people. Now the food... We ordered the fried calamari because they looked appealing in the picture off of the menu. I didn't get the chance to get a picture but they looked...sad, soggy and I was surprised because they came out pretty quick. I sent it back and didn't eat it. Me and my partner each got a pound of shrimp and there was no flavor. Not even in the sauce. I got hot and it felt like mild to me (I have a high tolerance). It also didn't have much sauce I had to dig deep at the bottom of the bag to get sauce...disappointing. I also had egg , corn and potatoes in my bag....egg was gross and yolk was very very green...not appealing. Potato had no flavor but the corn was nice and soft so I'll give them that. My daughter has been begging me for a crab boil for months, so on a rainy day I finally gave in. We headed to Shaking Crab, a spot I've been to before for a quick solo seafood lunch. Historically the food has been pretty good, so I figured it was a safe choice for a full boil experience. We ordered the étouffée boil for my daughter and me, and my husband went with the crab leg boil. Both came out piping hot in their bags, set inside bowls, and the portions were no joke. The pricing was surprisingly decent considering the boil includes three seafood choices from clams, mussels, shrimp, or crawfish, plus one premium add‑on like lobster tails, king crab, snow crab, or scallops. My daughter and I chose lobster tails, and my husband got two clusters of snow crab. They were out of king crab that day, but no big deal. My son, who keeps it simple, ordered fish and chips. The fish was huge, and the fries were honestly some of the best I've had in a long time. For our boil, we tried the house seasoning, which mixes garlic butter, Cajun, and lemon pepper. Once we started eating, I realized the Cajun was a little strong for me. Not bad, just a bit overpowering since I'm not a big spice person. They give you plenty of lemons and little salt‑and‑pepper containers if you want to adjust the flavor. The mussels ended up being the star for me... huge and delicious. My husband loved the mussels and scallops, and my daughter tore through the crab legs. The potatoes, corn, and everything else were solid, but I think we would've enjoyed the whole boil more if we had stuck to a simpler seasoning like lemon pepper and garlic butter. The place was pretty crowded, but with the rain, I think everyone had the same idea. Service was good, prices were fair, and our bill only climbed because we came in starving and ordered a bunch of appetizers. Overall, it was a good experience, and we'll definitely be back. This place is amazing! Service is hands down the best you can ask for! Yes the seafood boil is fresh I've had all of what they offer on different occasions and has never disappointed me! Their Mac and cheese is amazing I'll just leave it at that, simple. Now the Oysters!!! Fresh, huge size and taste amazing! I get them raw and again I can't express how FRESH they are! They're cleaned out very well and man I can knock back a half dozen no sweat! But all their food is fresh I haven't had a complaint with any family friends or the boss my daughter lol! If I could give negative stars, I would. We ordered the fish and shrimp po' boy, garlic noodles, and the King Crab boil. The biggest issue was that they didn't have the proper tools to crack the crab, they only gave me scissors, which didn't work. When I asked for something else, the server said they didn't have anything and just shrugged. She eventually took the crab to the kitchen to open it. The only thing I enjoyed was the shrimp. Have been eating here since last year and comparing the service now to then, I will say it has been terrible. Took them 10 minutes to give us our menus. We then get our drinks in where we ask for water with no ice, another 10 minutes later we get our drinks, and surprise, the waters have ice. We ask for another set of utensils since it was four of us and we only got three, again, looked at with a rude attitude. I've been coming here occasionally because it's never busy, and has reasonable prices. However, I came in on Sunday evening and had to approach the gentleman who was working to ask where to sit because he wasn't paying attention to me walking in. I overlooked it and was seated and I put in my order right away. After ordering a drink and food, my order came out quickly. But after that, it all went downhill. They never once checked on me and never once came over to give me a refill on my drink. There were only 4 other tables with people and they checked on everyone but me. I suppose my money wasn't green enough. Therefore I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely POOR customer service. Take your business elsewhere. Went here with my girlfriend awhile ago, I got the shrimp poboy, she got the fish poboy. We got the calamari starter. The portions were big, but literally everything was bland and flavorless. I normally hate ketchup, but decided to use some on my fries to try and taste SOMETHING, and even that didn't work. This place is like the lacroix of Cajun food. The seafood boil looked ok, I'll hold out on a full review until I try that. But their regular menu I do not recommend. What an amazing experience me and my family had here. The manager Hieu took such great care of us for my little brother's graduation dinner. We went to three places & no one would sit us and even though we came a little passed 9 pm Hieu still sat us. The service was fast but food was still hot, fresh, and so delicious. They were so attentive making sure we had everything we needed and kept checking in with us throughout our dinner. They didn't rush us out and even did a special dessert celebration for the new grad. We thought we had found the newest best place for shrimp boil.
