So I was craving seafood boil on a Sunday and I usually go to another local place that I love but when we got there the wait was over an hour. I was willing to wait cause the craving was REAL but then I saw their score from the health department and looked at their "dings" and said "F THAT! I'm not eating here." So I looked up other places and came across this place which I've heard mixed reviews about. So I decided to give it a try since they had a good health score and it was something new. First off I'm going to start by saying we walked right in with NO WAIT time!! Literally sat down as soon as we walked in! The service was great; our waiter was super friendly and attentive and checked on us multiple times. Not to mention they have really good deals and a lot of other options for those who don't want or like seafood boil. I say that because my bf doesn't care for it but he sucks it up so I can have it every once and awhile and finds something else on the menu which is usually only chicken tenders or fish and chips lol this place had a variety of different options which was really nice! The ambiance was nice and quiet and very clean. The bathrooms were clean and they even have a handwashing station in the front so you don't have to go in the bathroom. The only thing I didn't care for much was their "house sauce" not sure what it was called but it's the one that has all the flavors mixed together! We got the mild spicy and the spice was great but the flavor was a little bland in MY opinion. Didn't taste much like anything! I also REALLY LIKE how they bring you a metal bowl to put your seafood in. That's a GAME CHANGER. Overall I would go back to this place no doubt and highly recommend it! The prices are really good as well and I feel like they have great combo deals! Better than I've seen at other places TBH. Annnnddd, I forgot to take a picture of my food unfortunately but that just proves to show how ready I was to eat!! I did get the after math tho! Haha read more

Etouffee Shaking Crab - Aftermath of a demolished seafood boil! crawfish were huge and the shrimp were perfect! - Seafood Near Me - Redlands, California

First time trying this place per recommendation from a friend and overall I give them a 2 out of 10. The service was good , they were attentive and nice. The place looked clean and tbh we were the first ones there so there weren't many people. Now the food... We ordered the fried calamari because they looked appealing in the picture off of the menu. I didn't get the chance to get a picture but they looked...sad, soggy and I was surprised because they came out pretty quick. I sent it back and didn't eat it. Me and my partner each got a pound of shrimp and there was no flavor. Not even in the sauce. I got hot and it felt like mild to me (I have a high tolerance). It also didn't have much sauce I had to dig deep at the bottom of the bag to get sauce...disappointing. I also had egg , corn and potatoes in my bag....egg was gross and yolk was very very green...not appealing. Potato had no flavor but the corn was nice and soft so I'll give them that. We also ordered garlic bread and I'm very sad to say that the bread was probably my fave part of the whole meal. Food just isn't worth it in my opinion. read more

My daughter has been begging me for a crab boil for months, so on a rainy day I finally gave in. We headed to Shaking Crab, a spot I've been to before for a quick solo seafood lunch. Historically the food has been pretty good, so I figured it was a safe choice for a full boil experience. We ordered the étouffée boil for my daughter and me, and my husband went with the crab leg boil. Both came out piping hot in their bags, set inside bowls, and the portions were no joke. The pricing was surprisingly decent considering the boil includes three seafood choices from clams, mussels, shrimp, or crawfish, plus one premium add‑on like lobster tails, king crab, snow crab, or scallops. My daughter and I chose lobster tails, and my husband got two clusters of snow crab. They were out of king crab that day, but no big deal. My son, who keeps it simple, ordered fish and chips. The fish was huge, and the fries were honestly some of the best I've had in a long time. For our boil, we tried the house seasoning, which mixes garlic butter, Cajun, and lemon pepper. Once we started eating, I realized the Cajun was a little strong for me. Not bad, just a bit overpowering since I'm not a big spice person. They give you plenty of lemons and little salt‑and‑pepper containers if you want to adjust the flavor. The mussels ended up being the star for me... huge and delicious. My husband loved the mussels and scallops, and my daughter tore through the crab legs. The potatoes, corn, and everything else were solid, but I think we would've enjoyed the whole boil more if we had stuck to a simpler seasoning like lemon pepper and garlic butter. The place was pretty crowded, but with the rain, I think everyone had the same idea. Service was good, prices were fair, and our bill only climbed because we came in starving and ordered a bunch of appetizers. Overall, it was a good experience, and we'll definitely be back. Next time we'll skip the big étouffée boil and keep it simple with a seasoning we know we'll love. read more

It's Valentine's Day so me and my hubby decided to go to shaking crab because other food is really good. But one thing I really dislike to hear was their service especially the customer service lady named Nueh. Not sure if I'm spelling her name right but it's pronounced like NEW. This women ignored me and my husband and helped the people behind us and acted like we wasn't waiting there as long as they read more

This place is amazing! Service is hands down the best you can ask for! Yes the seafood boil is fresh I've had all of what they offer on different occasions and has never disappointed me! Their Mac and cheese is amazing I'll just leave it at that, simple. Now the Oysters!!! Fresh, huge size and taste amazing! I get them raw and again I can't express how FRESH they are! They're cleaned out very well and man I can knock back a half dozen no sweat! But all their food is fresh I haven't had a complaint with any family friends or the boss my daughter lol! Love this place read more

Was in the area so we would thought we would try something new but not new since we love like the shrimp boil category. It's a new place to ask, but the owners are owners of the Sushi across the way which we frequent often. To start it out it was a great service. They were very accommodating. Their restaurant was pretty open. We seated in a booth and got her drinks right away They play hip music Inside the restaurant, the AC is mildly cool There is plenty of booths & middle seating It's Central location for Mtn Grove across from cinema There is outside patio seating tables for the restaurant The menu has plenty to choose from besides the shrimp boil option There are numerous TV mounts all around The bathrooms need some TLC Cocktail menu - Beer & flavored Korean wines available Shrimp boil we ordered 2 separate flavors Garlic & house blend of garlic, lemon pepper & Cajun mix Downfall- need paper towels vs napkins in a holder: eg when your glove is on & you need a napkin, a messy outcome Addins corn on the cob, sausage, potatoes & hard boil egg was delicious! I like how they put the boil in a silver bowl instead of the table The bag up the leftovers which was plentiful!! The management was very friendly and I would recommend coming here. We will be back for sure! read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. We ordered the fish and shrimp po' boy, garlic noodles, and the King Crab boil. The biggest issue was that they didn't have the proper tools to crack the crab, they only gave me scissors, which didn't work. When I asked for something else, the server said they didn't have anything and just shrugged. She eventually took the crab to the kitchen to open it. The only thing I enjoyed was the shrimp. The service was disappointing, and the server seemed like she didn't care. Our bill was $111, and it was definitely not worth it. Save your money because I already wasted mine! read more

Aswome loved the food, you get to play with it! We had the crab pot, serive was great very attentive. We are coming back

Sausage was way over cooked and dry, shrimp was rubbery and way over cooked. Sad because we have been here before and their seafood boiled tasted a lot fresher than this trip. Service has been better, they weren't to crowded but waitress never came back after taking our order. And the fact that the added the gratuity to bill already was the topper to me never coming back. read more

Have been eating here since last year and comparing the service now to then, I will say it has been terrible. Took them 10 minutes to give us our menus. We then get our drinks in where we ask for water with no ice, another 10 minutes later we get our drinks, and surprise, the waters have ice. We finally can get our order in, and the lady taking our order looked like she didn't want to be there. We ask for another set of utensils since it was four of us and we only got three, again, looked at with a rude attitude. We get our food, finally, and we asked another waitress for water with no ice, since the man and the other lady were all over the place, and we finally get it halfway through our meal. I would honestly be understanding of the long wait time, but there was hardly anyone else there other than 6 other groups and the waiter/tress were at least nice. I don't know if it was just us experiencing this but it sucks to say that I won't be coming back. Also they aren't open until 10:00, "we close at 9:00, check online". I don't know about y'all but it still says 10:00. read more

I've been coming here occasionally because it's never busy, and has reasonable prices. However, I came in on Sunday evening and had to approach the gentleman who was working to ask where to sit because he wasn't paying attention to me walking in. I overlooked it and was seated and I put in my order right away. After ordering a drink and food, my order came out quickly. But after that, it all went downhill. They never once checked on me and never once came over to give me a refill on my drink. There were only 4 other tables with people and they checked on everyone but me. I suppose my money wasn't green enough. Therefore I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely POOR customer service. Take your business elsewhere. Too many businesses nowadays have terrible customer service and its becoming normal. read more

First a time at shaking crab , food , price and customer service was great . We will be back for sure .

Wings raw, blood pussing out of the wings. I asked for it to be removed, wings were taken off plate. Child ordered tenders, meat not fully cooked, showed staff who agreed "could be better" but still charged my card full price for two plates not cooked. What kind of customer service is that. I went back inside as I noticed food not still charged. Employee reluctantly removed as gaslighted saying "you didnt tell remove it '. Common sense would tell you not charge me. read more

Arrived right when it opened, first time having crab boil. The portion size is large, we had plenty of leftovers. Tried the crawfish, shrimp and mussels, medium spice. The cajun fries are also good. 1st time here My bestie and I are crab fanatics We love a good seafood boil Unfortunately, this place was not it 1 - not Asian 2 - not spicy 3 - not accurate Cajun fries were plain as heck I ordered garlic butter only for my bad - they added all kinds of spice My friend order full house - they had zero spice Cajun fries were plain - not Cajun at all When I asked the waitress about why my garlic butter had all kinds of spice in it, she tried so hard to lie and play me sayin' "we change our recipes all the time " - instead of admitting to the added space The only good thing about thing about this place is Marvin - he was the bomb - so polite and so helpful He was a real 1 Ask for Marvin Overall the manager was kind as well but probably hates his job read more

Dear Mr royal crab I am a white woman in America! Yall suck fr no cap :( On a more serious note Hair in my food is crazy work. Food was good but the way they handled the situation about the hair in my food was terrible, I appreciate that gesture of a new plate and food but I didn't ask for that I was hoping they would either give me a discount or at least just take the meal off my purchase. I ended up still having to pay for it even tho for one I barely ate anything of the first plate with the hair, 2nd I didn't even eat the 2nd plate they gave me, 3rd there SHOULDNT BE HAIR IN THE FOOD IN THE FIRST PLACE! I'm sorry for them that this is how they treat their people with the same experiences cause they definitely ruined what I thought about the joint... will not be returning. This is my opinion tho everyone should still have their own opinion on whether this place is good or not 2 stars for the food, none for the service read more

My daughter and I came for lunch and was pleasantly surprise at how full we were from the dishes we ordered. There was a great promotion for the King Crab with sausages, potatoes, corn, and egg. I honestly couldn't finish it all. It's very rare I'm full from eating crabs. It was very good. The lemon and spices was a nice touch but the sauce alone was good enough for us. The manager and waitress were very kind and attentive. Unfortunately I have no pics because I was in the moment and was enjoying the meal. read more

MANAGEMENT SCAMMED ME AND WOULDNT GIVE MY MONEY BACK UNTIL I GOT STERN AND REFUSED TO LEAVE. i called on the phone to tell them i got overcharged and then the manager hung up on me so i came in person! he said it was not a double charge it was a random amount. i dont know how this plays a role at all to the fact that i was charged double the amount! then i stood there for 35 minutes as he tapped on the screen he kept telling me to come back i said no im not leaving until i get my money back, then he refused to give the money back on my card , he also didn't count the money back to me he just handed it to me and gave me a dirty look as if he expected me to just give in and walk away! he pulled out a drawer full of envelopes with specific amounts im assuming this happens often and they make it such a hassle to get the 90$ back! DONT recommend at all! also they did the same to my mom and they started to speak another language so i could not understand what was being said. this has happened twice multiple reviews about this as well. stay safe guys! read more

Went here with my girlfriend awhile ago, I got the shrimp poboy, she got the fish poboy. We got the calamari starter. The portions were big, but literally everything was bland and flavorless. I normally hate ketchup, but decided to use some on my fries to try and taste SOMETHING, and even that didn't work. This place is like the lacroix of Cajun food. The seafood boil looked ok, I'll hold out on a full review until I try that. But their regular menu I do not recommend. Not to mention half of what we actually wanted that was on the menu wasn't actually being served anymore, forcing us to settle on the sandwiches. I tipped well because the service was great, food is just severely lacking. read more

Empty when we arrived, so it was a bit concerning since dinner time was around the corner, and it was our first visit. We were seated right away by a friendly waitress. Very clean and spacious joint. Hubby ordered spicy Cajun crawdads and shrimp. Whoa, it all came in a huge bowl and was so delicious with quite the right spice. Phew! I ordered the garlic noodles with scallops. Wonderful! Huge platter with freshly chopped bell peppers, red and green. Good sized scallops. The garlic sauce was So Good. I would definitely order it again. The Downside was the restaurant filled up quite quickly, and there were only 2 waitresses attempting to keep up with all the filled tables. We were served water in small ice filled Styrofoam cups and the flimsiest plastic forks and spoons as cutlery. If my platter costs more than $18, then I deserve real stainless steel cutlery and a TALL plastic cup of water for that Cajun steam boiled seafood dish. Hot and spicy! read more

They were so attentive making sure we had everything we needed and kept checking in with us throughout our dinner. They didn't rush us out and even did a special dessert celebration for the new grad. The food was so garbage that we didn't even finish it. The sauce needs improvement it's so watery. The sauce does not stay on because of how watery it is. The sausages are not good. The shrimp was overcooked. I felt like I was gonna throw up because of how watery it was and the lack of seasoning. I'm honestly so upset that we spent money on this just be disappointed.
