The service is fast, 15min wait for take out ( I usually call ahead). I end up pouring the juice over the rice and devoured all the shrimp first, while saving the rest for dinner! price was decent for all of that ($22.94 for 2026). I cannot believe how terrible their service was today. The two of us ordered lunch and waited for a whole hour before they even started making our food. We started checking in about 30-40 minutes after we ordered -- They were clearly busy, so we made sure they knew they could take their time and were intentional to be supportive and not rush them. Then we watched 5 or so other groups of people come in after us and get their food. When I asked them how that is happening, they insisted that they have a process where certain foods are made first -- and then scoffed at me for not understanding their process. After being supportive all along for them, this crossed a line for me. After all that time they said we could have our money back only if we left the food there and made no apology, acting like we were being unreasonable and not understanding their process. So here we are now late to our appointment with our food sitting in the car after rushing to get here. To be honest I have valued this place for their food in the past, but even their quality of food has gone down. Often their salad is drenched and watery. They make things more and more haphazardly. To-go orders have been leaking / containers not even shut properly. Their tables and chairs seem to be getting increasingly sticky and not cleaned very well. Sadly their time may be up. I arrived at the restaurant, on a Wednesday, the kitchen area is wide open all staff members can see when customers walk in, than being said, the saw me and the girl behind the counter as well, and no one greeting me, I stay there ready to order , they both saw me and didn't greet me or acknowledged me. So I waited for two more minutes to see if one of them would ask what I want to order but they didn't. So I left. I'm super disappointed of my experience definitely not going back ever. This was a much different experience from my first one. But also explains why the restaurant was empty , no one else dining, who would when the employees don't care for the customer. Red Panka is bringing traditional Peruvian dishes to the area while inviting new people with tacos and burritos (filled with Peruvian meats). I was excited to find this gem while at an appt at Loma Linda. I'm sad I didn't find this sooner. There's space to sit down and have lunch, it's an order at the counter type place. It's clean and the decor is a mix of fun and traditional. As a business, I think they've done great to introduce the area to Peruvian food. & Customer service was good. Now the food: we tried most of the menu! To start we tried the papa ala huancaina, a cold potato dish served with a creamy spicy cheese sauce on top. The flavor was great, it's a simple dish. If you want it spicier, you can always ask for the aji verde, green hot sauce. We also had the causa, it's a layered cold appetizer dish made with a spicy, lime mashed potato layer, layer of chicken salad and avocado, another layer of the potatoes. They topped theirs with mayo and chopped tomatoes. I loved the mashed potato, it was perfect. I do wish there was more chicken. Also it would have been nice to have less mayo on top and maybe avocado on top too. This is commonly served with salsa criolla, pickled red onion, that would have been good as well. One thing they excel at is how they treat their beef. The bistec and the lomo were incredible. The meat was so tender and flavorful. They definitely don't cheap out on the cut of meat and it was very appreciated. The flavors of the lomo saltado and camaron saltado were on point, loved the soy sauce flavor. This is a stir fried beef dish with tomatoes, onion and French fries. My only complaint was that the French fries used in the dish seemed old. The tallarines verde is a creamy Peruvian pesto pasta. It was good but I wished there was a little more basil flavor. I would definitely order again! The platanos and yuca were also very good. I can't wait to come back and try their ceviche and arroz chaufa. read more

Their bowls, wraps, lomo saltado, aji sauce, and yucca fries are all delicious and full of flavor. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and care about consistency. Extremely appealing location that is like a hole in the wall. There are nice lights outside that makes it great at night. Unfortunately, it does tend to get extremely busy during lunch time so ordering ahead is always a good idea. The food is amazing although they do charge extra for the aioli sauce which is something that I don't remember them doing in the past. I am vegetarian and there's quite a few options for me. Bowls, burritos, tacos, and salads, all packed with flavorful sauces, Red Panka is a great option for when you want something fast, but don't want to feel guilty afterwards. I got the shrimp Panka bowl and thought the aji sauce had a decent kick. They also include a pretty generous drizzle on top, so if you're slightly sauce-averse like myself, consider asking for it on the side. My bowl was a little lacking on the amount of shrimp, but they were well seasoned and grilled to perfection. Next time I might ask for more lettuce and less rice, to meet my preferences. They offer 2 types of bowls which have the same base (romaine lettuce, rice--white or brown, and beans--black or pinto) but the Panka style features a corn salsa vs the Peruvian style which has sautéed tomato and red onion. A surprisingly amount of variety for pescatarian and and vegetarian options here (ceviche, shrimp, tofu saltado, quinoa salads, plantains, etc). I'd like to start by saying that we come to this place for the food, not the service. The young woman at the front is consistently unprofessional and often has a poor attitude. Today, she apparently made my burrito with steak, but when I pointed out that there was barely any in it, her first response was, "Where's the rest of the burrito?" I explained that I had taken a few bites to realize there was hardly any steak, at which point she opened the burrito, picked out a small piece of steak, and said, "Here's your steak." I asked if she thought that amount was reasonable for the size of the burrito, and she responded with attitude, saying, "I made it, and our cameras show I put steak in it." She then called her boss, who apparently told her that, since the cameras showed steak was added, they couldn't do anything about it. When I asked if she could remake the burrito, as she had already taken it apart, she refused. At that point, I was genuinely upset. I can't understand how a place would go as far as picking through a customer's food just to prove them wrong, then refuse to make it right. It's concerning that both the owner and employees seem okay with expecting a customer to eat food they've picked through. I genuinely hope she finds happiness, as she seems so unhappy and clearly dislikes her job. I hope the owner gains a better understanding of the food industry if he genuinely believes it's acceptable for his employee to pick through a customer's food and still expect them to eat it. read more

Located near the AT&T store in West Redlands boulevard, this place is a unique restaurant. I came here yesterday with my family to order a saltado and the restaurant was quiet. I remember seeing the menu when I first walked in. I tried their saltado and ceviche and both of them weren't bad. The only thing that I would say is that their aji is meh. The aji is sort of lacking in spice or something, but maybe that's just a personal preference. xD Anyway I'm still grateful that I came here and I would like to thank Red Panka for having me. :) Pros: The food was delicious, the restaurant itself is very clean and they were playing some salsa music I think. Every time we call to put in an order, we are left on hold for a long time and sometimes hung up on. We have experienced our order being made incorrectly a couple times, and it's pretty inconsistent with portioning. The tofu saltado bowl is my favorite and sometimes there is way less tofu than other times. The food takes a long time to be made but is definitely worth it.
