    Pad Thai

Located in downtown Redlands off the beaten path, Mu is in a quiet neighborhood. There were plenty of street parking around on a Friday night at 5p.m. There were plenty of tables. Service was great. Our server and owners brother were attentive. The decor was upscale inside and out. The food itself was OK. I judge a Thai restaurant by how well they execute Pad Thai. Unfortunately, their pad Thai fell short for me. The noodles were cooked but the sauce was oily and runny. The price was high as well. I also got the chicken satay. It was good, seasoned right. They need to have bigger dipping bowls. The price again was high. My mother in law got the chicken fried rice. She didn't complain. My teen got the wonton soup which she loved.

A little confused as I arrived. 2 sides to choose from lounge and dining. Im laughing a little that there is also a beauty/brow bar lol. We're off to the side in a small room here for a large gathering. The staff has been very nice and welcoming. As we all arrived, my cousin did order a tai tea that had a fair amount of hair in it.We did have to return. They promptly took care of it. No.issues. Went to the restroom. It is quite small, warm and definitely does not smell fresh. The food...... Pad Thai Orange Chicken Tofu Rice Yellow Curry FABULOUS. The food was great! The service was great too. The pad Thai had amazing flavor! Fresh toppings! The orange chicken was crisp, hot and very flavorful. My favorite THE curry another favorite was so dang good. I do recommend you pop by and try abite.

Food: luxury thai food at its best here. Came here with my bestie and bf (before we started dating) for a dinner hangout. Tom Ka was huge portion and so flavorful with rich and creamy taste every gulp, pineapple fried rice was such a treat to see given its beautiful presentation. Kapow was good too, with the right amount of seasoning, but maybe I'll get something else next time. Price: around $20+ per dish, which in my opinion outrageously expensive for thai food, but i did say that this is luxury thai food. I'm cheap and usually opt for more affordable options around the area though. Ambiance: once again, i have to emphasize that this is luxury thai food place, it has the dimly lit fancy date night vibes, i wouldn't wear casual clothing here Service: people were friendly and nice, checked in to see if we needed anything throughout the meal, no issues Parking: there's a parking lot in the back with 2 rows of ample space available. there's also street parking out in the front as well.

If you want Mu thai food, then Mu's for you. This here's an upscale thai restaurant that serves pretty banging thai food. Yeah your go to pad thais are still available but I think there's so much more to life than pad thai. Get a kapow where everything is juicy and delicious or a tom ka soup to warm your soul. Either way you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The quality of the food here is notably better but you're also paying more so keep that in mind. So all in all, you got yourself a nice dining experience here in a cute neighborhood, what more can you ask for?

Here for a birthday lunch, the food and service was amazing! We can't thank you enough for a wonderful day! It's a small but super cute restaurant!

Delicous bo de lac (cubed steak)

The Thai food at Mu is high end, unique and delicious. The seafood kapow offers a large serving of of clams, mussels, crab, shrimp and squid in a spicy sauce. Bo de lac (cubed steak) is another good choice -- tender and flavorful. I especially like the Alaskan halibut and Chilean sea bass with Thai chili sauce -- truly tasty. High end fish like this is not available at other Thai restaurants. I highly recommend trying these unique dishes.

I'd rather pay to even enter and have less people. It's not super crowded, but you have to jump on a section or seating area if it becomes available. We sat in 1 section and played some video games, then moved to another table to play UNO and we wanted to go to the other corner that had a different video game but had people swoop in literally right in front of us to take it. So we waited but they took an hour here. Weren't playing any of the games - just photos of themselves. After an hour, we asked if there is a limit in certain areas to allow others to check everything out and they did say yes and they mentioned it to the group so they left and we had to rush in to sit there before another group - but told them we are out in about 30 and they can take it after us which they were cool with. We played some Mario Kart while enjoying our last drink and then left. Other people ca be a bit more courteous but there may need to be signage to just be respectful due to limited timing.

We seated ourselves at our favorite raised table in the corner on the far side of the bar. My husband and I stuck to traditional cocktails, and old fashioned and a Negroni. Our friends chose signature cocktails: the Turbo Granny and the Electric Feel. Now the Electric Feel was not just a drink, it was an experience. Our server explained to our friend that he should sip a little of the drink, then chew the Szechuan buzz bud for about 15 seconds, letting it coat his whole tongue, then enjoy the rest of the drink which would taste different afterwards. Our friend went through all those steps and said it was incredible, like all the flavors were enhanced along with different sensations in his mouth, kind of numb and tingly. His wife was not satisfied with his description of the experience, so she bought a Szechuan buzz bud for $2 and she said it was kind of like pop rocks. These buzz bud looks just like a little flower bud like the end of a dandelion once the seeds are blown away. It comes from a plant. Totally fascinating! We enjoyed our one cocktail each here and just had great conversation. It was a fun night because of the company, and also because we had a little adventure going to two amazing places!

My wife's cocktail was also top notch. She ordered the risotto and that was another win--well executed and clearly something the kitchen has dialed in. My entrée (the mussels with chorizo and fennel) was the miss. It came out very salty, and I couldn't really detect the fennel that was listed on the menu. To their credit, they comped a beer, which was appreciated. Service was friendly. One small but real comfort note: there was an exposed bulb on a shelf at eye level that made our table uncomfortable enough that i had to move my seat to not have it in my eyes the entire evening. Probably an easy fix, but worth mentioning. Overall, there are some genuinely strong dishes here, and enough went right that we'll be back--just hoping for a bit more consistency across the board.

Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the hype. Service was the main issue. The bartenders seemed inexperienced, and our server wasn't familiar with the drinks, often needing to check with someone else. It took about 20 minutes to receive our first round. Our reservation was at 10:30, we were seated until 10:40, and the place closes at midnight so timing already felt tight. Because of the wait, we asked to order two drinks at once for the next round, but were told it's limited to one at a time. That would be understandable if service were faster, but it took another 20 minutes to get the second drink. We were also told drinks from the regular menu take longer, so I tried one from the specialty menu...still a 20-minute wait. It was a frustrating experience. That said, the space itself is smaller and more intimate, which could make it a nice date spot. I do think this place has potential, and I'd consider giving it another chance, hopefully with smoother service next time. Oh Beignets were amazing!! Yummy little donuts!
