tom yum soup - lunch special
    KJ S.

09/2025 visited benjarong for lunch with a colleague and ordered the pad see ewe lunch special and thai tea & the total was $30+ after tax and tip... based on the last time I visited, I've learned that the entree has increased to $19 (from $16) and the thai tea has gone up in cost as well ($4.50)... service was attentive and professional & the ambiance is always nice with the large windows, but this may be one of the most expensive "lunch special" prices I've seen in a while. knowing the restaurant industry, its increased $3 in one year is pretty steep. this economy is rough! yummy food, but be warned of increased prices!

Mojito and martini both very good

First time coming, someone had recommended this restaurant so thought I'd give it a try. I had a good experience I got there at happy hour and drinks and appetizers were at a great price. Not sure if it was the owner or manager but she was very friendly and made us feel comfortable. I started off with cocktails I ordered a mojito and my friend a martini, we both enjoyed our drinks. For appetizers I had lumpias for first time, they were very good. My main dish I had shrimp pad Thai and the taste was delicious. I would definitely like to come back and try their diff dishes.

Service and vibes were excellent. The owner was super nice and staff was also friendly and attentive. I ordered the drunken noodles and it tasted great, but the chicken was pretty dry -- Otherwise, it was yummy. My friend ordered the yellow curry with tofu and loved it, so I'll have to try that one next time. The salad that came with the food was yummy and Thai iced tea was perfect for a hot day.

Out absolute favorite! They have the best management and waitstaff, so kind and welcoming and always warm and friendly! The food is always excellent, served fast, fresh and consistently amazing! Great with kids! We love Benjarong! Tonight was my son's birthday and they sang and brought out ice cream. The ube and mango are our favorite!

On my last outing here the food was excellent as before, but the place was less than forthcoming and then stingy on providing requested sauces like Soy Sauce, Sweet & Sour Sauce, Chili Oil, and the like. And an appetizer of Spring Rolls was dumped on the table at the same time as my entree of Pepper Beef & Steamed White Rice. Add those unwelcome circumstances to a recent huge price hike on lunch items, and I am less pleased with the experience here than I used to be. XXX-1/2 stars overall on this last visit.

This place is not closed. Where did this information come from?

My girl friends and I ate there just this past Thursday, 7/25!! They have completely renovated inside--new tables and chairs, new paint, etc. Food is the same great food as always!!

This place is just different in the most positive way. I've had Thai food before at regular sit-down spots with little to no vibe, but the atmosphere here truly elevates the whole experience. It creates the perfect setting for the food. The Pad Thai, crab fried rice, chicken wings, and the Ka Pow were all incredible, but the sauces... seriously, the sauces deserve their own shout-out! The cocktails were tasty and presentable. Food is a decent size and shareable. However, I must say they lack ingredients like for curry it was really watery and plain, it didn't have veggies like I would get from other restaurants, there were some chicken pieces and a few tiny bits of potato. The crab fried rice and beef pad see eww didn't have that much protein but it's alright since there's equal veggies mixed in. Chicken wings were good but I would pass on the egg rolls, it was gritty and dry in my opinion. Mango sticky rice is not bad, your typical dessert like other places. The wait for bigger parties can take some time on weekend or peak time since it's a small restaurant. There's a few bigger tables all the way in the back of the restaurant. 20% gratuity is required for parties of 5 or more.

Don't let the location fool you. The flavor speaks way louder than the storefront. The fan favorites? They actually hit. * Pad Thai - perfectly balanced, not overly soggy, not drowning in sauce. * Pad See Ew - smoky, savory, that wok flavor you're hoping for. * Drunken Noodles - intensely savory, spicy, and slightly sweet. Stir-fried with Thai basil, garlic, and chilies. The yellow curry was solid too (creamy and comforting) but just a little sweeter than I prefer. That's personal taste, not a flaw. Now here's the real mic drop: my wife isn't even a Thai food fan... and she enjoys coming here. That alone tells you everything. Passing another booth appeared to be in better shape. We were given menus right away and we ordered the Spicy Grilled Pork and Pad See Ew with pork. I also had the Thai Lemonade, quite good and refreshing, and my dining partner had the Thai Iced Tea. Service was friendly and competent enough. He seemed to be the owner. There weren't other staff evident. It wasn't certain whether he cooked the meal as well, in lieu of a cook, as he was behind the scenes most of the time. The Pad See Ew arrived first. The noodles were fresh and well prepared and the dish was as one would expect. It was satisfying and a good portion. It took quite awhile after to get the Spicy Grilled Pork that came on a bed of shredded cabbage and mildly spicy sauce in a cup. It was good and the pork grilled nicely. It definitely needed the sauce to balance the overall dryness. Overall, not a bad meal. Nothing out of the ordinary and the portions were good for the price point. I'd go back but wouldn't unless it was convenient in the moment.

For a Saturday at 4:30pm, we were seated and waited on immediately. The menu was expansive and I was surprised with the amount of vegetarian options for a Chinese restaurant. Our server was helpful in suggesting various fish options and knew their wait times. Some notable dishes were the sizzling beef with black pepper, beef scallion rolls, honey walnut chicken, mapo tofu, and fried chicken. The dishes that could be improved for flavor were the vegetarian steamed dumplings, steamed whole fish, and beef chow fun. We probably ordered around 8-10 plates (all dishes came with rice) and many arrived at the same time. The prices were very reasonable for the portions and it was just enough for everyone. Since we had a birthday celebrant, they were able to put our personal cake in the fridge. Our server provided a complimentary matcha cheesecake and candle towards the end of our meal. When we arrived, the hostess attempted to seat us at a table that would not have comfortably accommodated our group. I politely asked if we could be seated at a nearby table that had more space. In response, she rolled her eyes and let out an audible sigh, which felt unprofessional and dismissive. When we were eventually seated at the requested table, she placed the menus down abruptly and did not hand one to me directly, instead leaving it at the end of the table. The interaction came across as unnecessarily rude and, frankly, not in line with the level of service I would expect from a hostess. That said, I want to note that the rest of our experience was positive. Our server was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout our meal. The food itself was also very good (I would not recommend the orange chicken though) and something I would return for. I hope management takes the opportunity to address the front-of-house experience, as first impressions matter and can significantly impact a guest's overall perception.
