Ordered from this place on DoorDash so cannot comment on the ambience or customer service. I ordered yellow curry with chicken and the spicy fried rice with beef. The flavor of the curry was nice enough but the potatoes and carrots weren't fully cooked. The white rice was also blobby and gummy. Texture was all wrong. I absolutely do not recommend the fried rice dish. It was totally overwhelmed by the flavor of the Thai basil, and the beef strips were thick, chewy, and flavorless. Overall it was just sort of bland with the exception of the basil. The price was decent but I probably won't order from here again. Too many other options in the area. read more

DOUBLE CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE YOU PAY. We caught about a $20 difference on our bill, and instead of immediately owning the mistake, they tried to play it off after we called them out on it. That made the whole situation feel even more shady. A $20 "mistake" is not something everyone is going to notice, especially if you're with a group and just paying quickly. We noticed, spoke up, and the way it was handled made us lose trust in this place completely. The food isn't worth having to audit your own receipt at the end of the meal. The food was very flavorful. My party ordered the orange chicken, green curry, and wonton soup. Orange chicken was tangy, candied and you could really taste the citrus orange flavor. Beautiful plating presentation. Good service. I liked the strong curry and peanut flavors on the salad dressing. My beef cashew nut was full of flavor. Not so much a fan of the sweet and sour pork. Pork didn't taste fresh meat and too sweet for me and so was the chicken pad thai. Green curry chicken was deliciously home made flavor. Surprised with the cleaner taste of bamboo shoot. I've gone here once and will not go again. This was a while back, but the experience I had at this place still hurts to this day. While I can't deny that the food had flavor, especially the tom kha soup, and that the ambiance was fine, resembling a classic fast casual place, the service was one of the worst I ever experienced. I faced discrimination and was ignored, as when I was eating my meal, the employee asked everyone around me how they were doing and she did not ask me. To make matters worse, she just put the receipt on my table in the end and there was a mandatory tip. In this day and age, we should remember that we are all humans and treating others based on how you look is wrong. It is really unfortunate and sad for that employee, and the fact that R Thai is in Loma Linda, a place of healing, only makes matters worse. Now living in LA and having been to Thailand, I can guarantee you that there are Thai people with much more kindness and gratitude out there. I can't explain the discrimination from the employee at R Thai cuisine, but what I can say is I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere for a good experience, especially if you do not want to be discriminated. Pad Thai was not good. I really didn't like the flavor it wasn't enjoyable to eat.. but their shrimp spring rolls were good.

This was our family's first time visiting this restaurant, and we were pleasantly surprised. The simple Pad Woon Sen with tofu was actually tastier than what we've had at other restaurants. The Rad Na noodles were also delicious. The customer service was excellent, and we didn't have to wait long for our food. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, including the restrooms, which have separate facilities for men and women. This local restaurant is a hidden gem! (Don't count the egg rolls or cream cheese wontons lol) I love the salad dressing on the chicken salad. Gives that sweet and savory taste I look for on my dishes. The chicken is crispy and fried to perfection and you get plenty of veggies on your salad with crispy and fresh lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes. The steak salad gets a lot of its juice from the warmth of the steak and the veggies. If you don't like your veggies being hot maybe this isn't the OG salad you'd enjoy. For me, it's a great take on a non traditional salad. The R Thai with pork or basil rice are both also non traditional fried rice that I've truly enjoyed. A great twist while appreciating a lot of the flavors. The place is kind of small and cozy. I love the vibes and the staff is great. Front staff is attentive and very welcoming. I decided to treat myself to a solo Thai date since I was in the area. The restaurant is small and intimate. I walked in, and it was relatively empty, which was nice. It seems like more people do take out from here. I tried their combo chow mein, egg rolls, and Thai tea. I ordered a side of white rice, but it never made it to me. Other than that, the service was good. The food was good too but wasn't as favorable or tasty as I'm used to. But to their defense, Thai food is my favorite, so I'm incredibly picky. My Nam Tok salad was delish! The juicy perfectly seasoned steak was the star. I am glad I tried this today over larb. They got the medium seasoning right I saw actual red peppers and spicy basil. I have gotten carry out from this restaurant a few times with my coworkers and they package the food well for big orders; everything is labeled and packaged individually. It's not my favorite Thai restaurant, but it's decent. I would recommend the green curry and the fried rice. You can upgrade your side of white rice to fried rice for a buck and it's 100% worth it; probably my favorite item there! The green curry was pretty good too, but I didn't like that the tofu in it was fried (at least I think it was fried, it looked like it). The stir fried green beans were pretty plain, as you would expect, but it's definitely a healthier/lighter option (aside from the rice that comes with it. LOL). The Tom Yum soup was my least favorite of all. First off, their menu says the price is $6.95 for a small soup with tofu, and I was charged $8.95 and they literally gave me half a cup! Aside from that, as soon as I took off the lid I got a whiff of it and instantly knew it was not going to taste great. CHICKEN PAD THAI - first off, when you order chicken at any of the thai restaurants in the area, they give you a hella dry and thin slice of chicken. thankfully, it wasn't overly dry here and it was a small chunk. pad thai itself was also good, just make sure to give it a good mix because most of the sauce settled. R Thai underwent a change in management, new staff, new menu and nothing was posted on the door or windows of the restaurant, nothing posted on the website nor was it made mention verbally when placing an order over the phone. I had been going to the restaurant off/on for some years and tended to order the same menu items. One day, I called to place an order over the phone for pickup, named off the dishes I wanted, and the person who took the order repeated it back to make sure it was correct. The person did not say they were under new ownership and had a new menu, it wasn't until I went to the restaurant to pick up my order and noticed that it was in fact not the same dishes as I had previously ordered under the old owner. I looked at the dishes and made a complaint on the spot about the dishes. Person refused to issue a refund and proceeded to be show me a new menu and explain that the dishes are how they prepare them, they didn't know anything about the old menu, that they have a new staff and is under new ownership. Since it was at restaurant closing time, I was forced to leave, the staff was rude, non-cooperative and did not want to take back the food and issue a refund to make it right for their deligience. They are deceiving people by not posting and revealing this information upfront. They are legally required to inform the public, which they failed to do. They are using the same name R Thai, but the food is definitely not the same. Beware! read more

Came here with my boyfriend and his friends after a long hike, although they were nice enough to let us reserve a table, they were pretty stingy with the food portions. We ordered four entrees pad see ew, pad Thai, spicy eggplant, and Mongolian beef. The one that really underwhelmed us was the Mongolian beef or more like Mongolian onions because as you can see in the picture, they served us a plate of mostly onions. The food tasted pretty good but if you are 4 adults starving after a 3 hour hike... maybe don't order the Mongolian beef. read more

This place is slowly declining in qaulity and quantity. While the taste is still to point, there are many things that are have become unsatisfactory. The service has become much slower at lunch. The servers basically ignore you and you have to flag them down to take an order. They forgot about the salad thay came with the lunch special and there is no longer has a soup option. The portions have decreased in size to the point where you are hungry soon after.
