Combination chow mein, medium spicy.
Erica G.

I decided to treat myself to a solo Thai date since I was in the area. The restaurant is small and intimate. I walked in, and it was relatively empty, which was nice. It seems like more people do take out from here. I tried their combo chow mein, egg rolls, and Thai tea. I ordered a side of white rice, but it never made it to me. Other than that, the service was good. The food was good too but wasn't as favorable or tasty as I'm used to. But to their defense, Thai food is my favorite, so I'm incredibly picky. Overall, I wouldn't mind visiting again.

spicy eggplant
Jaylene K.

I was craving spicy eggplant and decided to order from here - literally so good, I went back two days later to eat it again. I've only ever ordered to go, and the staff have my food ready to go in 15 minutes or less. the portion size is great as well! I'm looking forward to trying more of their dishes.

Not impressed!! I placed an Order for pad thai medium spice during lunch time (normal 20minute wait) . Order came with salad, white rice, pad thai 3 shrimp. Salad was fresh, rice warm, pad thai completely lacked flavor.

Amazing service, good food, and good location. R Thai is a small restaurant that allows for quite a good conversation with friends The food was spectacular! Everything was tasty and great portions! Price wise I think it was more than affordable for the amount of food. Service was extraordinary, food was ready quickly and they were very attentive. 10/10

pad thai lunch special

A pretty good lunch - hot fresh food swift service basic strip mall ambiance As Thai food fans we love to try all Thai restaurants. The lunch special at this newly rebranded spot convinced us to try it. Lunch Specials included a scoop of rice, side salad and entree. my son tried yellow curry with chicken. My husband had pad thai and I went with Nam Tok salad which cost around $15. The lunch specials were average/good. The spice level was very low but we did not ask for adjustments. My Nam Tok salad was delish! The juicy perfectly seasoned steak was the star. I am glad I tried this today over larb. They got the medium seasoning right I saw actual red peppers and spicy basil. Overall we liked it but didn't love it. We spent spring $50 for lunch for three with no beverages. It was an ok value. We are still on the hunt

This place is just different in the most positive way. I've had Thai food before at regular sit-down spots with little to no vibe, but the atmosphere here truly elevates the whole experience. It creates the perfect setting for the food. The Pad Thai, crab fried rice, chicken wings, and the Ka Pow were all incredible, but the sauces... seriously, the sauces deserve their own shout-out! Every dish just hit perfectly. The drinks were amazing too, the Kinnari was fruity, tasty, and just perfect. Overall, a solid 10/10. I'll definitely be coming back

The cocktails were tasty and presentable. Food is a decent size and shareable. However, I must say they lack ingredients like for curry it was really watery and plain, it didn't have veggies like I would get from other restaurants, there were some chicken pieces and a few tiny bits of potato. The crab fried rice and beef pad see eww didn't have that much protein but it's alright since there's equal veggies mixed in. Chicken wings were good but I would pass on the egg rolls, it was gritty and dry in my opinion. Mango sticky rice is not bad, your typical dessert like other places. The wait for bigger parties can take some time on weekend or peak time since it's a small restaurant. There's a few bigger tables all the way in the back of the restaurant. 20% gratuity is required for parties of 5 or more.

Oh, the Thai Tea is the BEST! For dessert, the mango sticky rice is a go to when in season. Service is great too! Waiters are pretty quick to get your drinks and orders. They even provided a little disposable plate for my toddler daughter, which we appreciated (especially since kids love to throw things). Just make sure you order entrees and dessert altogether, otherwise you'll have to wait until a waiter is available, they're always so busy! The ambiance is nice, and they have outdoor seating too with fruit trees and a fountain. Gets a little loud during peak times but no big deal. Parking is an issue though. Tight spaces and not enough lots. Though you can park around the block along the public road. 10/10 imo. And we'll always return, especially to try other menu items.

Redlands boils down to two key choices: MU and THAI SPOON CAFE. If it's a date night, definitely MU. There are extra touches everywhere. I recommend THAI SPOON CAFE for lunches and delivery. The location isn't the best but they have other locations that are nicer. The staff here is friendly and fast. Don't let the location fool you. The flavor speaks way louder than the storefront. The fan favorites? They actually hit. * Pad Thai - perfectly balanced, not overly soggy, not drowning in sauce. * Pad See Ew - smoky, savory, that wok flavor you're hoping for. * Drunken Noodles - intensely savory, spicy, and slightly sweet. Stir-fried with Thai basil, garlic, and chilies. The yellow curry was solid too (creamy and comforting) but just a little sweeter than I prefer. That's personal taste, not a flaw. Now here's the real mic drop: my wife isn't even a Thai food fan... and she enjoys coming here. That alone tells you everything. If you can win over someone who normally says "I'm not in the mood for Thai," you're doing something right. Moral of the story: stop sleeping on this spot. IE has some hidden gems -- this is one of them. We'll be back.

It's located in a strip shopping mall and parking is readily available, at least at that time of day. The interior is relatively clean and well appointed and it appears to have been here for some time. Although the booth we were given to sit in was in rough shape, torn seats and broken down. Passing another booth appeared to be in better shape. We were given menus right away and we ordered the Spicy Grilled Pork and Pad See Ew with pork. I also had the Thai Lemonade, quite good and refreshing, and my dining partner had the Thai Iced Tea. Service was friendly and competent enough. He seemed to be the owner. There weren't other staff evident. It wasn't certain whether he cooked the meal as well, in lieu of a cook, as he was behind the scenes most of the time. The Pad See Ew arrived first. The noodles were fresh and well prepared and the dish was as one would expect. It was satisfying and a good portion. It took quite awhile after to get the Spicy Grilled Pork that came on a bed of shredded cabbage and mildly spicy sauce in a cup. It was good and the pork grilled nicely. It definitely needed the sauce to balance the overall dryness. Overall, not a bad meal. Nothing out of the ordinary and the portions were good for the price point. I'd go back but wouldn't unless it was convenient in the moment.

For a Saturday at 4:30pm, we were seated and waited on immediately. The menu was expansive and I was surprised with the amount of vegetarian options for a Chinese restaurant. Our server was helpful in suggesting various fish options and knew their wait times. Some notable dishes were the sizzling beef with black pepper, beef scallion rolls, honey walnut chicken, mapo tofu, and fried chicken. The dishes that could be improved for flavor were the vegetarian steamed dumplings, steamed whole fish, and beef chow fun. We probably ordered around 8-10 plates (all dishes came with rice) and many arrived at the same time. The prices were very reasonable for the portions and it was just enough for everyone. Since we had a birthday celebrant, they were able to put our personal cake in the fridge. Our server provided a complimentary matcha cheesecake and candle towards the end of our meal. His robot server sidekick also sang happy birthday! I did feel like they were understaffed because the lobby hostess had to find the server for me several times when I asked for our cake and the check. When we arrived, the hostess attempted to seat us at a table that would not have comfortably accommodated our group. I politely asked if we could be seated at a nearby table that had more space. In response, she rolled her eyes and let out an audible sigh, which felt unprofessional and dismissive. When we were eventually seated at the requested table, she placed the menus down abruptly and did not hand one to me directly, instead leaving it at the end of the table. The interaction came across as unnecessarily rude and, frankly, not in line with the level of service I would expect from a hostess. That said, I want to note that the rest of our experience was positive. Our server was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout our meal. The food itself was also very good (I would not recommend the orange chicken though) and something I would return for. I hope management takes the opportunity to address the front-of-house experience, as first impressions matter and can significantly impact a guest's overall perception.
