Came here on a Monday afternoon with my real estate team, and it's always a pleasure visiting this family-owned Thai restaurant. The owners are incredibly sweet and welcoming, and the food never disappoints. We ordered the Pad See Ew, which is an absolute must-try, and the fried rice was also very good. But the standout dish for us was the Tom Yum soup loaded with shrimp--it was packed with flavor and definitely hit the spot. For dessert, we finished with the mango sticky rice, which is always a favorite. The warm hospitality from the owners makes the experience even better. Ordered takeout and food did not disappoint. One of the best tofu fried rices I've had. Service was punctual and efficient. The ambiance inside has good seating w/ dim lighting. Good for a smaller group for casual conversation. Was not busy at all for a Monday around 4:45pm. The Mango Sticky Rice was delicious, just noticed to have more mango than rice. Coming here off hours for a late lunch the restaurant was empty except for one large table of 8 or 10 finishing up a meal. It's located in a strip shopping mall and parking is readily available, at least at that time of day. The interior is relatively clean and well appointed and it appears to have been here for some time. Although the booth we were given to sit in was in rough shape, torn seats and broken down. Passing another booth appeared to be in better shape. We were given menus right away and we ordered the Spicy Grilled Pork and Pad See Ew with pork. I also had the Thai Lemonade, quite good and refreshing, and my dining partner had the Thai Iced Tea. Service was friendly and competent enough. He seemed to be the owner. There weren't other staff evident. It wasn't certain whether he cooked the meal as well, in lieu of a cook, as he was behind the scenes most of the time. The Pad See Ew arrived first. The noodles were fresh and well prepared and the dish was as one would expect. It was satisfying and a good portion. It took quite awhile after to get the Spicy Grilled Pork that came on a bed of shredded cabbage and mildly spicy sauce in a cup. It was good and the pork grilled nicely. It definitely needed the sauce to balance the overall dryness. Overall, not a bad meal. Nothing out of the ordinary and the portions were good for the price point. Customer service was great! Environment made me sad because the food was so delicious, I was surprised that it was only my girl friend and I there and a walk in for take out. Although they did buy a ton of food, which is awesome! I know it's hot right now but it was very unfortunate that it was warm inside of the restaurant. A Taste of Thailand in Redlands! I went here for my cousin's birthday and I'm glad I did. Eastern Classic Thai is a hidden gem in Redlands. Inside it was dimly lit which is fine with me. It seemed pretty empty here but it shouldn't be because the food here is delicious , with authentic flavors and ok amount of portions. Every dish we tried was great with lots of different flavors. The service was great as the waitress was attentive to our large group and made sure everything was taken care of , and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. A small Thai restaurant that I randomly stumbled upon on... first impression. Silence, no customer, no music. Not much light, I thought they were closed. Dined in for 2. As I was waiting for a friend to show up, I noticed a lot people come to pick up orders for take out, also they were doing some fixtures to the place. The place and ambience was a bit dull but i honestly did not mind the silence. Our server was great, friendly & very helpful. I didn't get her name though. We ordered a few things and wow... they all tasted soo good. From the flavor to their sauces, my phone died so I didn't get a pic of the other stuff we ordered but we ordered Chicken satay, yellow curry, crying tiger and seafood plate. You really can't judge a book by its cover, I will absolutely come back but I would recommend adding music or more light fixtures or even an open sign, I didn't see one but I might've missed it. read more

I've been by here 100's of times and I'm glad I stopped in. As you can see it's a casual, easy dining restaurant (see my interior pics). The service was fairly good. The parking was easy and ample. We were there for a weekend lunch. We started with #1 - Egg Rolls (see my pic). The wrappings were quite light and crunchy. The interior veggies and bean threads were okay, not very crunchy. The side of sweet & sour sauce was slightly sweet and minimal sour. Being a cold, dreary day we ordered, basically, soups. We started with the #51 - Tom-Kah Gal (see my pic). The coconut milk created a warming, creamy base. There was a nice tang of ginger and lime leaves really came through in the broth. You can see in my pic the thinly sliced chicken breast meat. The meat was mildly flavored and very tender. We also had the #75 - Beef Bowl Soup. This is a simple soup of beef broth and noodles. I've been here a few times before and the food has always been good. My bf and I came here on 10/06 to order food to go. We got 4 Pad See Ews and 1 Thai Beef Salad. I got the beef pad see ew. To my disappointment the food didn't taste as good as I remembered. The food seemed like it's been sitting there for a long time. The noodles was too soft and broke easily. Flavor wasn't there. My bf's daughter got the same and she found egg shell pieces in her food. My bf got the beef salad and also agreed it didn't taste as good as before. For what we paid for was not worth it. Maybe the cook had an off day? I don't know. Although it's sad for me to say this but this might be the last visit for us as there are other Thai food establishments around. I ate lunch there for the first time while work was being done on my car across the street. I usually get pad Thai but wanted to try something different so asked the server for a recommendation. Yum-yai! A salad with tofu, lettuce, tomatoes, sweet onions, pine nuts and some delicious other stuff. What made the salad was the dressing. OMG was it good! The salad is available with the usual meats for all you carnivores, but overall the salad was satisfying and delicious. Do yourself a favor and give this family-owned business a try! read more

This place has been here for years but I never put it on the Thai Food rotation list. I usually order Pad See Ew when I go to Thai food places. So that's what I ordered. The beef was cooked good, nice and tender. But the noodles were way over cooked and a bit mushy. I was a little disappointed. But the wife ordered Kung Pao and said it was pretty good. Stopped by because I was in the area and the restaurant is still beautiful (great for a fancy date). I saw spicy squid (2 kinds of chilies) on the menu, so I ordered that and napa soup. Nick took a minute to catch up and went into the kitchen. I noticed he has a table with snacks (fried bananas, fried sweet potatoes, etc.) So I browsed since they were nutritionally better than standard chips. I noticed that there are little fishy snacks. Oh, which to choose? I finally chose one with chilies in it. Nick shared from his stash fish with sesame seeds on it. Yummy! I'm going to get that one next time! I was craving for some Thai papaya salad and this place did not disappoint!!! I am already salivating just writing this review! As soon as my 5 yr old son and I walked in, we were immediately greeted by Nick who was so warm and friendly. I ordered the Thai papaya salad and Nick recommended to pair it with the chicken (if i remember correctly it's the ginger chicken- picture attached). I was in heaven! It was sooooo delicious!!! It was so good that i couldn't stop eating even when i was already full! I ordered the beef pad sew ew for my son. My son is an ultra picky 5 year old. He basically finished the entire pad sew ew (half for his lunch- and then it was his dinner as well). I had some left over food that i was going to save for my husband... but i couldn't help myself and started eating the papaya salad and chicken again. I like this place and has been my husband's go-to! Nick is the tall man who greets the customers, takes your order, serves you and takes your money. when you pay. He's all in one! Since I have moved her back in 1997, he's the MAN! The man never age. Lol The food is delicious. We often order the whole fish (sweet and sour) with the head and tail included. The Crying Tiger has mellowed out! It used to be spicy but not anymore. The beef in Crying can be more tender though. We order the Pad Thai and sometimes Pad See Ew, Chicken with baby corn and mushrooms, Papaya salad, Tom Yum Soup. Since Covid I don't see much people coming in to eat but I do see people picking up their foods. The place is clean and relaxing. Nick does not rush you at all. He's so chill. My sister and I were looking for a restaurant that can accommodate around 30 people for my dad's funeral luncheon. This was one of the places that popped up in our search because of its proximity to Montecito Memorial Park. Also, this restaurant came highly recommended by our family. For our selections we had BBQ chicken, papaya salad, green curry beef, crispy garlic pepper shrimp, egg flower soup, chicken chow men, pad se ew and rice. They were all great and everyone was satisfied with the food. Needless to say, we licked our bowls clean. That day, their private room's a/c went out so we were in the regular area but it was during a weekday and less people came so it worked out fine. The owner was really nice and accommodating. The customer service was stellar. They were also flexible with the time because we ended the funeral service early. My husband and I decided to go here because we'd never heard of a Thai buffet before. Weekdays 11am-1pm only, $9. The price was decent for a buffet, but the food was really lacking. Honestly, the worst Thai food I've ever had, which hurts to say. Most was bland...some dishes just seemed like Panda Express, like the broccoli beef and fried rice. I tried almost everything, but the only things I went back for were the noodles (good) and the fried Thai chicken (really good). Altogether, I would definitely not go again. I was looking for a luncheon after my father's funeral, and this was referred to me by my cousin 1. (i will call them by numbers lol) I didnt know that the owner was one of my other cousin 2 best friend, while my cousin 1 told me to talk to cousin 2 so i can get a discount. as much as she has good intentions, im not there to ask for a discount, i will treat this restaurant like a normal restaurant that i go to. first of all, i met the owner, Chai, he's a pretty cool and nice guy, i know i asked him such a short notice but im glad that he was able to accommodate at least 30-40 people, but i dont think we had at least 30 people in the funeral which is also good. and also the funeral ended an hour early, so i was able to call Chai to get there an hour early instead, and he was ok with it, i didnt mean to rush his employees but im glad they were able to cook everything on time, when we got there. 2nd of all, i gave him the orders that we wanted ahead of time, so they can serve it when the people arrive there. we were suppose to use the back place, but he said the AC didnt work, so we were seated at the front with all the other guests. i think we ordered about 5 dishes, per table so were stuffed. the food was delicious and im hoping to go back when im in the area, so thanks Chai for the wonderful service. i wish i took some time to take pics of them but i was too hungry to take them lol but i give this restaurant an 8/10. read more

We have been going to this place for about 20 years now. I still love it. Great food, sometimes different people cook and something you had the week before will taste a lot different but always great regardless. I have eaten most things on the menu at this point and haven't been disappointed. Love the Pad Prik Sod and Watercress On Flame. The guy who runs it has always been so nice to us, he remembers every person who comes into their restaurant, asks them how school is, or how their parents are doing, it's incredible honestly how much he knows his customers. A couple friends and I ate here for lunch recently. It was a first for me BUT definitely hasn't been my last! Upon arrival the owner greeted us kindly, the restaurant was cozy and warm. The owner was very helpful with detailing my vegan selections. My dish of drunken noodles and tofu were amazing-the flavors were very savoring! At my second visit I wanted a salad but I couldn't remember which one my friend had but the owner remembered me and assured me he would substitute with tofu instead! I feel pretty sad writing this review as I relive my experience here. Also because I don't like writing negative reviews but honesty and transparency is how I roll. Based on prior Yelp reviews, I wouldn't have chosen this place myself but thanks to my bro in law who likes to support mom and pop shops, we "celebrated" he and my husbands birthday lunch here. Should've been a dead giveaway but no, we still sat down. And the temperature in this place- hot. Note to owner- don't skimp on the AC- Redlands is hot as heck in July. By the time we left, I felt like I'd been to a sauna rather than a restaurant. Oh sorry I digress- back to the food- Not good- is all you need to know. I've eaten a lot of (delicious) Thai food in my life and this place wasn't it. The panang curry was the only dish that had great flavor but the pad Thai, pad see ew, lemon chicken, bbq skewers, & bbq chicken were all not good. Need more convincing? - chicken tasted like it had been heated up in a microwave and was super dry, pad Thai noodles were very pinkish in color (never saw that before) and beef skewers tasted old like they too were defrosted in the microwave, cooked perfectly n the microwave and then held over a fire like a s'more.
