Lemongrass vermicelli with chicken. Pretty good
Mark F.

I ordered the lemongrass with vermicelli noodles today. I thought it was good but it really just didn't hit the spot for my lemongrass craving. The lemongrass was there. It just wasn't as prevalent as I like it, still I made a good attempt to eat as much as I could for a very large bowl. Restaurant is slightly small. Has maybe 12 tables or so but there is a little bit of side parking and the food is consistently good each visit. The staff here are very attentive and friendly.

Rare Steak Pho

Local hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurant! Has friendly and fast service. Got the Rare Steak Pho. The broth was flavorful and not oily. It felt so comforting when I was under the weather and I almost finished the whole bowl (which I usually don't do). Good selection of Vietnamese dishes, but wished there was a larger pho selection (e.g, brisket), especially if Pho is in their restaurant name. Not as cheap as OC but less than $20; and is overall good quality pho and price for Hawaii!

Store front

Owner and husband were really nice. The food was great and place was clean. They have been at the same location for 20 years, but we never knew they were there. Will definitely be back!

Ocean Pho was formally Pho Bistro which has a few parking in front of the restaurant with 1 that is handicap and there is a parking lot on the side of the restaurant. I had the house special combination Pho which had slices of beef and beef balls and tripe with onions and the platter of fresh greens to add in if you wish. The broth was very tasty and the pho was good with lots of ingredients and this was the regular bowl. My wife had the tendon pho which she enjoyed and always order the tendon pho whenever she eats pho. We also ordered the crispy spring which came out nice and hot and crispy and with a good amount of meat filling. They also have a variety of crispy rolls with different ingredients. Restroom located on the side connected to the restaurant.

Ocean Pho, formerly known as Pho Bistro 2. Also known as "Pho Dai Duong". Still same great pho and other tasty Vietnamese dishes. Same great space. Same friendly service. Aunty Lien and son Tuan still serving with a smile. So many great choices to choose from. I always come for the pho. Soup is delicious and comforting. Meat is of good quality and generously portioned. The vegetables abundant, fresh, and my favorite variety of basil, sawtooth, jalapeño, and fresh lemon. It really IS my favorite spot on the island for pho! I keep on saying I will try their other popular dish which is the oxtail soup or the oxtail pho... but haven't been able to get around wanting the deliciousness of the combo pho (and they are often sold out of this item)! I shouldn't know this but their tapioca dessert is out of this world delicious too!! You can find Ocean Pho on most social media platforms. Instagram: oceanpho808. Facebook: Ocean Pho and Pho Dai Duong. Tiktok: @Ocea n pho808 . Ocean Pho shares parking lot with a space a spa, mini mart and a few other businesses. Get there when they first open at 10:30a or 4:30p and there will be no problem. Just don't visit on Tuesday when they are closed otherwise you be waiting a very long time!

This place has the BEST PHO and SPRING ROLLS. Can you tell from the picture my son took, as I always clean the entire bowl? We don't want to go any where else for Vietnamese. This is our go to...

Family was craving Vietnamese food and found this place as one of the most reviewed spot for pho in Honolulu. Decently sized store and wasn't busy. Seated immediately and ordered the large special pho. When it came out it was warm. The raw meat barely cooked through. Broth leaned on the saltier side and had decent noodles. Good amount of meat inside. Service was good they constantly refilled waters. Small parking lot behind the store or street parking.

The beloved oxtail
Drew W.

An old standby. We used to come here a lot when my office was nearby. It's a family affair, and it was always fun to see the boss mom who checked to see if you ate all your food. The oxtail soup is next level and could feed two people. The papaya salad is always my favorite side dish. The name has changed, but the food is the same.

Was conducting some business at the Moped Garage next door, so we dropped in for lunch, not really expecting much, but we were very surprised. Very unassuming from the outside, the inside is very clean, as in extremely clean. It's very nice indeed. Service was friendly and very helpful. Food was excellent as well (see pics). I would definitely come here often if I lived in the neighborhood. Highly recommended. Oh yeah, parking is mainly free street parking. Found an open spot on Fern Street.

Combination pho
Brennan H.

Came in and it wasn't super crowded. We just sat down at an open table as the guy motioned for what seemed to be anywhere. As soon as we sat he came over with water and menus. They have a pretty extensive menu with the typical vietnamese dishes. I chose the combination pho. It came out fairly quickly and was steaming hot. The broth had a nice flavor to it and the meats were all super soft and cooked well. The serve was friendly and refilled water often. Only thing for me is the place is a little dark as the blinds are closed. However I guess it's designed this way as it would probably be too bright with the sun beaming in if the blinds were left open. I'll be back to try their oxtail soup and it looked delicious! Parking: Lot on the side of the building with a parking attendant who will tell you where to park. Friendly guy.

If you're a tourist or a local doesn't matter if you're looking for five stop looking at other places this is your spot. I'm telling you if I lived here I would be here once or twice a week. I got the photo Tai absolutely amazing. The broth is absolutely amazing. The food is fresh and besides it comes with the basil and what not a full size plate they don't skimp on it. The first service is five star. The inside is nice and cold. I love the AC here I would maybe come for the AC and would definitely come for the pho. I'm writing this as I'm eating because it's that good. Just stop what you're doing and come here you'll thank me very legit and traditional. 10/10 would recommend.

:) meatball pho only
Jessica R.

They changed their name to 'Ocean Pho'! I like how bistro sounds better tho, in my opinion. I believe same owners, same great taste, same quality of food. Customer service is always great. Aunty and the team is always so nice! As always, I order my meatball pho only and spring rolls. Of all the pho places, I mean the quality here of the noodles, broth, meat , and all the food in general, is so great. Been to mama pho aina Haina, gosh, was so disappointing. Pho 777, disappointing. Pho saigon is alright, on Kapiolani. But bistro, or 'Ocean pho' is always my go to. Interior, dining restaurant always clean and sauces and napkins always replenished. I hope they don't change anything. 10/10 recommend.

Large pho with raw beef
Scott O.

We had the vermicelli with fried spring rolls and the large pho with raw beef. $33 This continues to be the go to place for the best pho in Honolulu. It has the best flavor of all the phos we have sampled across the U.S. it is not oily and tastes fresh and full of flavor. This version of vermicelli is hard to find so there aren't many places we can compare it to. It's one of our regular dishes and doesn't disappoint

I came here maybe 5-6 years ago when they first opened, mainly to try their famous "flying…read morenoodles," which were such a trend back then. Honestly, everything was just okay--nothing really stood out to me--so we never came back. Over the years, though, I kept hearing friends talk about this place and say it was one of their favorite Chinese restaurants. I was still not convinced... and then my husband started hearing the same thing from more and more people. So, here I am, finally giving them another try! And WOW... the menu has changed and expanded so much since the last time I was here. There are so many more options now, and everything we ordered was flavorful and tasty. The portions are HUGE, and you can definitely tell they don't skimp on the ingredients, produce, or seasoning. We ordered the salted egg chicken wings and the stir-fried ong choy--both were really good! The drinks were also tasty, although they were a little not sweet enough for me, But I'd definitely order one again when I'm feeling healthier. Where have I been all these years?! ‍ This place has officially become one of my favorite spots for Chinese food. Sometimes you really do have to give a place a second chance!

It's street parking only on King Street but if you're lucky like us you can snag a metered parking spot right outside. It's a QR code menu and you order from your phone. I love a physical menu just as much as the next person, but with all the customizations you can make to the dishes- being able to select them on your phone just makes it so much easier. I went with the classic beef noodle soup, with a thick noodle. There was multiple different noodles to choose from but I think that this was the most classic for a beef noodle soup. The broth was really rich and clean (not spicy) and I loved the texture of the noodles. My friend ordered the dry mix noodle with pork and chickpeas in mixed sauce. She got it a regular spicy and it was just above my threshold for spice but so good. The texture of the chickpeas when it was mixed in made it creamy and so unique. Next time I'm going to try the dry noodle with mashed potatoes and beef.

They also seem to have renovated, with a much more spacious and modern interior. We've tried the Boiled Fish and Pickled Cabbage with rice, Wuwei Spicy Beef Noodle, and Fried Noodle (rice noodle). You get to choose what type of noodles you want. The first time, I ordered the Boiled Fish and asked for mild spice, but it was so spicy I could barely finish it and ended up just eating the fish and leaving the rest. Such a shame because I was craving those sour and spicy flavors and wanted to pair the soup with rice, but I definitely wasn't expecting the mild level to be THAT spicy. My bf, on the other hand, can handle really spicy food and ordered the spicy level for his beef noodles, but his wasn't that spicy at all. We wondered if the spice levels got mixed up, but I've seen other reviews mentioning that even the mild level for the Boiled Fish is really spicy, so maybe that's just how it is... The boiled fish soup was also oilier than what I've had elsewhere. For the Wuwei Spicy Beef Noodle, since we ordered takeout, the beef came separately with its own marinade. I wouldn't recommend pouring the marinade into the noodle soup because it completely overpowers the original spicy broth. The beef itself was perfectly tender, though! The Fried Rice Noodle was really good, and we had no complaints! It also came in a HUGE portion that was plenty for the two of us. Both times, I was craving Szechuan flavors and rice noodle dishes, and these definitely hit the spot! I wouldn't say I'm in love with everything we tried, but overall, the food was really good and worth satisfying those cravings.

My friend and I ordered their fried chicken cutlet, beef pancake rolls, Chengdu dan dan noodles, signature beef fried rice, pan fried pork buns, and pan fried chicken dumplings. The fried chicken cutlet was okay. The side of mayo and sweet chili helped but it was too dry. It would have been better if the chicken cutlet was juicy. The Chengdu Dan Dan noodles which had the ground beef, green onions and spice sauce in the bottom. Mixing this dish before eating was pretty good. The spice made this simple noodles dish, better. My favorites were the beef pancake rolls, and pan fried pork buns. The beef pancake rolls were sliced beef with cucumbers rolled up in a thin wrap. I liked how crispy the wraps were. They were thick and great as a sharing appetizer. The pan fried pork buns weren't full of soup-goodness but it was still fire. The crispy sides from the pan and the great pork flavor. So, good. The service was very nice and refilled our waters. Sad that they had to close down but they were be merging with Chengdu Taste in July.

When I was done with my noodles, I decided to order the buns and take it home to eat later.
