We really enjoyed Oasis Diner! The food was in very big portions, the flavors were awesome, and they served all the Diner foods your hoping for! We even got to sit outside, while traffic can be a bit noisy, it was still really nice. The cheeseburger was yummy and well cooked - just a basic burger. The tenderloin, in true Indiana fashion, was GIANT & was tasty! The favorite were the loaded cheese fries because we were in the middle for some heavy diner foods. Finally we got the Bignets to share for dessert and they were pretty darn good. The dough could've used a bit more flavor to it but they came out piping hot & covered in powdered sugar, so we were happy campers. This is a great one. So I have never been to this diner, but was going to aa part of Indy Burger Week. I knew they were closing on Sunday at 3 pm. However, a graduation party I was at, ran long and I did not able make it to the Diner until about 3:30 pm. I walked in for two burgers and they said they were closed and they had just sent the cook home. So I said "I'll pay, how about just give the fixins and I will cook the burgers myself at home." The manager said OK, so I still got my burgers to go, and when I got home I cooked them up and they were great. How is that for great customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On a Monday night. Ordered carry-out around 7:25pm. That's after waiting 12minutes for someone to acknowledge me. It took 45 minutes to get the food. Fine, it's dinner time. They are also willing to customize things, if you ask nicely ;-) For example, Zac asked for a peanut butter milk shake, which was not on the menu, but they were willing to try to make it. My husband and I have been trying to find a time to go in between two busy schedules and finally made it happen last weekend for breakfast. The server was awesome and on top of everything and "dealt" with my jokester husband when he ordered for both of us. We got our food and it was amazing and so filing. Im not sure either of us could have eaten either breakfast entree by ourselves and what we should have done was split the lumberjack and gotten an extra pancake. (The pancake was enormous.) So this is an adorable little piece of nostalgia that used to be East on US 40 for years. Was used in a music video and the ultimately sat empty with the demise of so many businesses. The structure was moved west a few miles and permanently located on the west end of Plainfield. Scrubbed, put back together it's an old fashion diner feel when you walk in. Their sodas are hand crafted. The cup of chili was great and the tenderloin was outstanding. The only thing I think they could improve on is organization. Too many workers not actually working and sitting at the dining bar. Other than that, I would highly recommend stopping in if you are making your way west on US 40. read more

There is no other place in the metro Indianapolis area that can compare to the Oasis Diner. Where else can you hop in your time machine back to 1954 to experience an authentically preserved Diner? The food. I am full thinking about all the food we ordered. The amount of food for the price is absolutely perfect. I enjoyed the Quaker Breakfast and got a side of short stack pancakes. The Quaker includes grits or oatmeal (who gets oatmeal?), the grits were cheesy and warm and delightful. The pancakes were fluffy and big. Combined with over easy eggs, the pancakes could've been a meal in themselves! My brunch companions also got a ridiculous amount of food. We all tried their homemade sodas and we enjoyed the unlimited refills. Great service while we were there. Although we had to wait 10 minutes for a table, our service once seated was great. Overall, this is such a great diner that I hope thrives in its new location. Indy folks, it's worth the drive to Plainfield to check this out! read more

I'm so glad to see this building get new life. History and tradition mean a lot to me, so kudos to the owners for keeping the building and diner culture alive. We met friends there for dinner (They had highly recommended the breaded tenderloin), and as it was a pleasant evening, we chose to dine outside. The breaded tenderloin did not disappoint. It goes my my list of 5 star tenderloins...and there are not too many on that list! The breading was light and crispy, seasoned perfectly to compliment the taste of the meat, not overwhelm it. It comes with a regular side fries, slaw, tots, for 99cents upgrade to onion rings, sweet potato fries, Mac and cheese or mashed potatoes and gravy. I ordered a Diet Coke. Tony had a grilled tenderloin and he enjoyed that. Our daughter ordered two Fish Tacos and tots. She said the tacos were very good! Many people had called in their orders and were picking them up.
