This was the FASTEST service I've had anywhere. We were sat, put in our orders, got our food, ate, and paid all within 25 minutes. The server was also friendly as well. I had the stuffed French toast with fruit and nuts. It was beautiful, but also tasty. The only thing that was less than great was the coffee seemed watered down. I never knew Flap Jacks had different locations.l but I'm glad they do. We used to go to the Madison Ave location until we had a bad experience. read more

This is my second time eating here in two years. Each visit, I have had cause to be in here with my Dad at breakfast time. Earlene (probably spelling this wrong) has been our server both times. The breakfast is good, but nothing noteworthy. Hot, tasty and comes out lickity split, it is just good to me, but not uniquely great. But what is noteworthy and great is Earlene. She embodies the kindness, friendliness, respect and efficiency you want to always have in wait staff. She is exceptional and after like 11 years of working there, I hope Flap Jack Pancake House knows they are lucky to have retained her. Quick to offer a refill of coffee and a kind hello to the regulars that are easy to identify (more regular than us coming once every year), she makes you very like a valued customer and appreciated. Not sure I will be in the area and back at Flap Jack's in 2025, but if I am and know Earlene is there, I will be happy to sit down and enjoy a meal. read more

They're so good that everyone wants them! We went on Father's Day and still were seated pretty quickly. The food was killer. Amazing, hearty and it came in nice portions. The atmosphere was super packed with many families in their Sunday best. A mixture of the church crowd, folks in golfing gear and families celebrating the dads in their lives. I needed to get some breakfast before a meeting in Plainfield and this looked good. I'm glad that I stopped in. The staff. Was very friendly and welcoming, the interior was extremely clean and comfortable, but not over-decorated like some small places tend to be. They had a very traditional Midwest breakfast/brunch menu. The food service was quick and the presentation was good. The western omelette was good, nothing special. The grits were well prepared. The pancakes were the star. I wish the syrup had been warm, but at least it was served in a large clean pitcher. read more

There are a few flapjacks franchises around the Indianapolis area that I'm pretty sure are locally owned. I've been to the Lebanon, Indiana and The Brownsburg, Indiana locations for breakfast many times and the food has always been good. I went to the Plainfield, Indiana location this past Saturday and I have to tell you it was a great experience. We pull in the parking lot and I kind of cringe because it was packed and we didn't have a lot of extra time. This place runs like a fine-tuned watch. The server came to the table as soon as we sat down. She brought us our drinks? The server then came back pretty quickly and took our breakfast order, and then, I'm not kidding when I say this, in less than 10 minutes the breakfast order was at the table and it was cooked to perfection. The eggs were cooked perfectly I asked for crispy hashbrowns because I don't like them mushy, and they came out exactly as I asked. Everything about the experience was perfect. The first time I came here a month ago and I had the Eggs Benedict. It was one of the best I have had in Indiana. Cooked perfectly, and the sauce was spot on. I got a side of potato pancakes. You spread sour cream and applesauce. I.wouldn't get this again a little too much grease. The Service is excellent the staff are really nice ladies. I went back last Friday the Eggs Benedict was over cooked, and sauce had too much flour. The sauce was too thick, and didn't taste right. They were going to remake it, but it would have been the same sauce. I ended up ordering an omelette which came with a pancake. The omelette was overcooked. It had ham, spinach, and Swiss cheese. I didn't saw anything. My thought was it was 130pm-2, and they wanted to go home. What really upset me was the lady was mopping the tables all around me. The waitress are always joking around, and make the time pass while still giving great customer service. The portions of food are plentiful. I have yet to leave not feeling like I ate a feast, even if it was only one dish I ordered. The Farmhouse Benedict is a huge portion of food. It's 2 biscuits topped with a large serving of a breaded tenderloin with gravy on top. The side of hash browns are plentiful, and everything tastes delicious!! Flapjacks has become our go to Sunday brunch destination. It's one of the first restaurants that I tried when I first moved here. First off, their prices are really decent! Second, their food is pretty delicious. My family and I have tried their skillets, eggs benedict, burgers, manhattans, and pancakes. Everything that we have tried at this restaurant has been pretty good. Service is equally as good. Every time we have visited our waitress has been friendly and attentive. We have been loyal fans of this FlapJacks but they have been having inconsistencies with there food. I love the the skillets. The last two orders they are using sliced cheese. Instead of shredded cheddar its a slice of cheap American cheese which doesn't melt well. read more

So much more than flapjacks! I have had many a breakfast/brunch here and it is consistently good. My favorite part is that it seems to have enough menu items that everyone can find some thing they will enjoy. I have been when it's really busy and when it is completely dead, regardless my food has always arrived fairly quickly, hot, and good. This place, dollar for dollar, has arguably my favorite steak and eggs. My only complaint is sometimes the food quantity isn't where I would want it to be, but honestly that just depends on what you order. Depending on when you go it can get really busy so make sure you allocate for that. Plus it's not open all the time and holds mostly breakfast hours, nothing past 3 pm. I guess have a second complaint, I wish they were open longer so I can have breakfast for dinner! read more

Nice breakfast place. Obviously, the pancakes are a good choice, although, I'm not sure if I would recommend the more "desserty" type pancakes (unless you were hoping to become a diabetic soon). All the fruits are subbed for a strange syrup/fruit jelly topped with powered sugar. Not a fan. I CAN recommend the skillets though, which are basically huge scrambles of all your favorite breakfast items. I got the Mediterranean scramble which was gyro meat, feta cheese, sautéed onions and peppers all thrown over a bed of scrambled eggs and hash browns. Yum. The servings are also pretty big and I almost always have leftovers to bring home. Just FYI, It can get busy on Sat/Sun morning but I don't think we've ever waited longer than 15 minutes for a table. I wonder how many people come here simply because the wait at Oasis, which is located across the street from Flap Jack Pancake House, is too long? One of the good things is that we didn't have to wait at all to be seated -- our party of nine was seated without a problem during the lunchtime rush. There is nothing inherently WRONG with Flap Jack -- it's your everyday, greasy spoon, diner-like joint. (If you've ever been to Blueberry Hill or Denny's or Norm's, you'll know what kind of place I'm talking about.) It's just fine. You can order breakfast at any time, and the menu is large and includes everything from salads to fish dinners to sandwiches to soup to pancakes to ... pretty much everything. Everything was just OK, not memorable. The service was excellent, and the coffee was excellent, but the food? Meh. It'll fill you up, but I probably won't be coming back any time soon. read more

The BEST breakfast restaurant in town. Their coffee is so good. I love their pancakes. I can't describe what makes them different from everywhere else but all I can say is they're dense and sweet. I also love their veggie skillet. We have never gotten anything there we didn't like. The service is always good and fast and I love that I see the same employees in the restaurant that speaks volumes to me. The manager, Nancy, is always there working the front of the food line. Food: I got the sunrise which was biscuits & gravy, 2 links, and 2 eggs. Biscuits were moist and buttery and covered with a meaty sausage gravy which wasn't too salty. My sunny-side up eggs were perfect and the sausages were solid although I could have used a little stronger sausage flavor. Coffee was also surprisingly good. Fiance had the farmhouse benedict which is basically a LARGE country fried steak served on a biscuit with the same tasty gravy on top, an egg, and crispy hash. Overall this place is awesome, very solid food for a great price and served by friendly staff. It's certainly not pushing any gourmet boundaries (except maybe the flapjacks i didn't get to try) but it's good 'ol home-style cooking which fills the belly. I'd gladly come here again. read more
