    Cherry Pie

I arrived at high noon on a Friday and found only two tables with folks dining or finishing up. Only one other table of people came in right behind me so it was not crowded at all. The sign said seat yourself so I did in the left hand side dining room. Two servers were working the room so orders were taken promptly. Yes, as noted by the other reviewers it is family owned so nothing fancy, just very comfortable dining to get some good home cooked meals. Their menu reminds me of Blueberry Hill's in that it has a wide variety of selections. I ordered the 6 pc. Butterfly Fried Shrimp from the Specials board. The shrimp came with steak fries which is one of my favorite styles of fries. Both the shrimp and fries were great. The shrimp were so big I could only eat five of the six. And I wanted to save room for dessert after seeing fruit pies on the menu. I ordered their Cherry Pie but declined the ice cream. The pie was very delicious. Apple was available too just so you all know. To be honest I didn't really look that hard at the menu once I saw the specials on their white board. I do remember seeing quite a few sandwich selections and a few I would like to try.

Take it for what it is: a dinner/family restaurant serving comfort foods. If you are looking for ambiance and fine dining, you are in the wrong place. If you are looking for a good, reasonably priced delicious meal, you got it. I ordered the BLT with fries (or premium). Highly recommend getting the fries too. They are really good, a nice portion and only a dollar or so more. The BLT was delish. Nice amount of bacon, with fresh tomatoes and lettuce, just as it should be. Bacon was nice and crisp without being burned. And the coffee was and truly bottomless.

Good local eatery in Plainfield. I stopped in for breakfast a little while back on the way to visit relatives. Had a skillet with a side of toast, which was all well made and hit the spot. My server was very sweet and upbeat, and the gentleman working the register had a kindly demeanor as well. The decor and style is somewhat basic, but it is nice and clean nevertheless. Well worth the stop!

Although I wasn't overly impressed with my dinner several months ago, I highly recommend the breakfast! This place is a somewhat countryish style restaurant with a nostalgic vibe! The scrambled eggs were light and fluffy. The biscuits and gravy were EXCEPTIONAL! We opted for the sausage links and they were good. The hash browns were well prepared and delicious. "Old Fashioned Pancakes" were the HIGHLIGHT of the meal! Very TASTY!

Breaded Tenderloin with Bacon and Cheese!!

I've driven by Goody's so many times without stopping. Today that all ended as I had a hankering for a breaded tenderloin and figured they had one. What Family Restaurant doesn't, am I right? The lady that waited on me was super kind and quick to take my order. The food came out hot and fresh! The grease was clean and so was the Restaurant. I will definitely be back to try out the other delicious selections they had, such as the steak sandwich, burgers, salads, they had it all. Diamond in the rough if you ask me!

First impression wasn't expecting the best food. But first time here and was impressed. Decent priced good food and fast service. Only had breakfast food. So will come back to try more.

The service was absolutely impeccable: attentive without hovering, warm without pretense, and delivered with the sort of genuine hospitality that makes you feel less like a customer and more like an honored guest at an impossibly chic gathering. And then came the drinks. The pistachio latte was a masterpiece of balance and indulgence -- velvety, nutty, and luxuriously smooth, as though a pistachio grove had somehow been distilled into liquid silk. Each sip unfolded like a sonnet. The wildflower latte, meanwhile, was pure poetry in a cup. Delicately floral without being overpowering, it carried an almost ethereal sweetness, like spring itself had been persuaded to dissolve into espresso. It was whimsical, elegant, and astonishingly memorable. The Green Room Cafe has achieved what so many coffee shops aspire to but few truly accomplish: creating not just beverages, but an experience -- one steeped in artistry, comfort, and just the right amount of enchantment. A triumph. Five stars scarcely feels sufficient. Oh, and parking was mindlessly easy, the owner was present, the bathrooms impeccable, nursing mother's room near restrooms and high ceilings to dissipate the hum.

I love finding a coffee shop that has their own house made syrups. I tried the monthly special, Wildflower latte with an added espresso shot and sadly it just tasted like flavored milk. I want to be able to taste the espresso and decided to pivot to a cocktail instead. Their cocktails were well made and the presentation was perfect. While there isn't a large selection of liquors, they have the staples to make most go-to cocktails in addition to their monthly specials (both cocktail and mocktail options). The food is what really stands out and would bring me back. You are able to choose a salad, flatbread or sandwich and their creations are unique and delicious. I had the pesto, peas and goat cheese on flatbread and was pleasantly surprised to find I could order the flatbread as a half order for $9 instead of committing to a whole order. I will be back but the coffee still needs some work before it would be enticing enough to became my go to location. Overall, it's a fun spot with options for everyone and a great addition to the Plainfield area.

Our server Emily was cheerful and informative. A parking garage across the street served us well for dining at this restaurant and attending an event at Hendricks Live across the street. The shrimp cocktail appetizer featured fresh large shrimp with dollops of horseradish on the plate and a nice sauce. I enjoyed the steak frites entree, a generous portion of steak perfectly cooked, served with a delicious broccolini and tasty fries. My sister ordered the chicken marsala and noted that she would have liked more sauce, and the truffle potatoes were delicious. My brother said his huge pork chop was perfect, and my sister in-law recommended the sirloin steak. We had reservations and were seated at a high top table, which is not my preferred way to dine but the restaurant was full so we didn't ask to be moved. We had a bit of a wait for our entrees and chalked that up to it being Saturday night. There is a separate bar area and rooftop dining with igloos available.

Eh, fell a bit short for me…read more The ambiance and vibes are great! Service was great as well!! The food is where it fell short for me. I drove an hour to visit this place and saw lots of good reviews. I started off with a lemon drop and a snack short rib eggroll. The lemon drop was watery and just did not hit like I would have hoped (I'm a lemon drop girly). They do use Titos as their well so that was good. The egg roll was dry- you definitely need to dip in the wasabi aioli to make it palatable. Next up were the buffalo chicken hush puppies. I like the idea here. The inside was moist and flavorful and the outside was kind of dry and drizzled with what I think was ranch. They were ok. I have a Ceaser salad add chicken and "fried" Brussels sprouts. The salad was suppose to come the onions , there were none so the waitress brought me some. The salad was mid at best and the chicken was dry and unflavored. I asked for some spicy ranch and that saved the salad! The Brussels sprouts were pretty good. My friend had the potato soup and said it was very watery (not creamy at all). I enjoyed the live music and overall vibe but good was average. Parking is an issue as well. There is parking in the rear or a parking garage but not super convenient parking.
