Food and Drink: I had Flapjacks for breakfast over the weekend! I had the protein omelette with pancakes and a side of corned beef hash. The protein quantity is perfect as it has ham, bacon and sausage in it, and the omelette is larger than what you'd think. Cooked well and is flavorful! The only downside is that it doesn't come with other sides so there is an up-charge to add pancakes and hash like I did. The pancakes were solid! Fluffy and easily soaks up syrup. The hash was phenomenal and paired well with my omelette for additional protein and flavor. Overall, the food is great here! Customer Service: During the breakfast and lunch crowds, this place is booming! But the cashier and waitresses were amazing at handling the room. From my observations, they were attentive and were polite with everyone. Shoutout to Grace, who was waitress! Ambiance: This place very casual, and family friendly for all ages. We went to Flapjacks late morning for breakfast, and the place was packed! Our wait was only about 10 minutes, which I was pleasantly surprised by and very thankful for. Visited Flap Jacks for the first time on a Saturday morning. Both the parking lot and restaurant were packed. A very good sign. I ordered the country scramble. It had hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, and gravy. It came with your choice of pancakes or toast or biscuit. The food was served quickly and was hot. The eggs and hashbrowns were very good. The gravy could have used a bit more sausage and was a bit bland. Next time I'd order a sausage patty to cut up and put in the gravy. The portion was large. Server was nice, professional, and friendly. She was very helpful. The location appears to be an old Hardee's. So it has that atmosphere and vibe. This is my first time to Brownsburg. I'm here because my dog is getting his teeth cleaned here so I thought I'd get breakfast after dropping him off. Its parking lot was full so I thought it's a good place to eat. I was very disappointed. I ordered the 2-2-2. It came out within 5mins. The bacon was cold, the pancakes were just above cold, but barely warm. The scrambled eggs were hot though. I tasted the hollandaise sauce before ordering the eggs Benedict, it tasted like gravy, no lemon taste at all. You tell everything was premade and sitting. I watched 5 employees just standing there chatting and laughing behind the counter. But what really got me was the cook... he took his ball hat off, rub his head with both hands, put his hat back on then continued to work... but at least he had gloves on.. not sure what good that was. I also like the turkey salad. They used to have an overwhelming menu but have recently simplified it which I love. Went for breakfast we got the ham, egg and cheese croissant sandwich and the biscuits and gravy both with hash browns. It was good and I would go back but it wasn't SO good I had to go back. I just felt the sandwich wasn't any better than other places I've been. My husband loved his biscuits and gravy. We agreed the hash browns were average. *DO NOT ORDER TAKE OUT FROM HERE* TLDR: They don't use food safe containers and will blame you for order mistakes. Hot food put in styrofoam containers with no aluminum foil. My food had melted styrofoam beneath it. Called restaurant and manager (Freddy) blamed me, gave me attitude and hung up. - I was looking forward to trying this restaurant based on reviews, and ordered a good amount of food. After I picked it up I noticed the order was all placed in styrofoam containers without any aluminum foil for the hot foods (crepes, etc) but didn't think anything of it. Noticed as I was eating that the crepes container had a sizzled heat line directly beneath the food. I contacting the restaurant to inform them of the issue I was treated with disrespect, I was blamed and was hung up on by the manager. Literally was made to cry how much I was gaslit (terrible word I know, but the manager knew what he said). I was so considerate and patient, but from the jump Freddy (manager) blamed me for this issue saying it was on me and my fault? I don't believe this restaurant has any food safe knowledge for take out, and can only imagine what it's like for dine in. Housed in what was a Hardee's. I was really surprised by the amount of space they had. The menu is huge. Really too big. Our server was friendly and kept drinks refilled. Our order for 6 people came out pretty fast. No one had any complainants. My Protein Omelette was great. Ham, bacon, sausage and multi cheese filled. Overall: Some of the best pancakes I've had in a long, long time, and under $10 with coffee! The good: I decided that going to a place called Flap-Jacks, I had to get the pancakes. I didn't want anything over-the-top (chocolate and the like), so I got a simple stack with bananas and it was divine. The cakes were fluffy yet hearty and the perfect portion size filled my belly up. The service was friendly and attentive, especially with our larger group. Everyone loved their meal; wish I could go back tomorrow! The not-so-good: If you're not a fan of diners and their "unique" atmosphere, you certainly won't like this place. Stopped in here on a whim when I was running some errands for work. Had no idea what to expect but wow, they have such an inclusive menu. I mean what do you like for breakfast? Whatever it is they are bound to have it! It was so hard to decide what to order. I kept it simple and ordered a waffle which was very good. My husband ordered a skillet which he said was amazing. I honestly don't remember what my servers name was but she was fantastic, she was funny, knew the menu inside and out and made great recommendations. She was also very patient. On our way to shop in Brownsburg, my wife wanted to grab something to eat before continuing. We hadn't been to Flap-Jacks, but after seeing they were more than just a breakfast place, we decided to stop by. They have a parking lot and we were able to grab a spot not too far from the entrance on the west side of the building. As soon as we entered the double door entry (good for reducing drafts), we were hit by a strong cleaning fluid smell. Not a good thing for our appetite! (It was still there when we left.) We were greeted and seated at one of the side tables. There is basically one large dining area, and some additional seating (stools) near the pay counter. Although someone took time to decorate the place for the holidays, I got the impression that they should spend more time taking care of the actual business than the cosmetics. The place screams franchise. Nothing about it makes it memorable in a good way. The side salads we ordered were thrown together and had little flavor. The Ham, Turkey & Swiss Croissant, while made with good quality items, lacked any condiments or toppings. None. Why didn't the waitress ask if I wanted anything on it? Bland and dry. My wife ordered the Chicken Fajita on Pita and it comes with fries. Generous portion, but again, lacking in flavor. From what I can tell, this is a place to get a large serving of food. I had the Farmhouse Benedict, which was a split biscuit, topped with breaded pork tenderloin, eggs, and gravy. It was definitely a satisfying meal! This was our first visit to this Flap Jack's location in Brownsburg but we've been to several other locations. The menu is consistent between restaurants which helps since the menu has a large variety to select from. The only negative was the overwhelming dirty bathroom ordor as we entered that took your breathe. It was only in between the double doors but it was memorable and highly noticeable. I'm not sure if this is a new or ongoing issue. Regardless, I hope they deal with it quickly. We received a nice greeting and taken immediately to our table. Our server was prompt and very nice. Our drinks arrived within minutes of ordering while we decided on breakfast. We ordered quickly and the food arrived timely which was a relief since we were on a tight timeline. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy (always fast) with hashbrowns. Hubby ordered the Western Omelette with hash browns and toast. Both our meals were enjoyable and no issues.
