Food and Drink: I had Iguana's in Plainfield for lunch yesterday! Some coworkers mentioned there being a taco special on Thursdays so I had to check it out! I had 6 tacos (please don't judge haha): Shredded beef, grilled chicken, steak, carnita, chorizo, pastor. For $1-$2 you can't beat that!!! All of the tacos were hot and fresh, and I had soft corn tortillas with cilantro and onion for a street taco feel. Needless to say I left full and happy for the day and ate good for a few bucks! I also indulged in a SPIRIT-FREE margarita - specifically the Coconut/Pineapple which was refreshing (and safe for work hours!!) Customer Service: Our server was friendly and patient as we were a group of 6 ordering a little of everything. The crowd was somewhat light for the lunch hour so we got our food in a timely manner after ordering. Ambiance: This is a traditional mexican restaurant like others in the area and the decor is pretty common. With the taco special, I'm inclined to frequent more often, especially with the great service and casual atmosphere. This was our favorite ever place to go and order from. Not anymore. Tonights order was our last event. We ordered choriqueso? 1/2 grease and had to continue paper towel straining. The Texas chimichangas are usually fantastic, bland too much red sauce, zero cheese and very old guacamole. Nothing tasted fresh. Not worth the expense. read more

Went for a fundraiser. Only planned drinks. Seated with chips and salsa. Unfortunately they were awful. Ordered a 16 oz margarita on the rocks. A friend a sangria. The atmosphere was rocking with lots of kids and families raising money for charity. The drinks came out quickly. The margarita was the worse margarita I've ever had in life. The mix was off. It was as approaching close, so told the waiter to take it back and not replace. The sangria was fine A donation was made to a local charity. Honestly the best tacos I've had in awhile. I ordered for delivery to work for lunch since I wanted to try something new. I had the 4 Little Amigos which are marinated chicken tacos with cheese, cilantro, purple cabbage, avocado, and chipotle sauce. The bright colors were so pretty but the tacos tasted even better than they looked! I also loved the black beans and rice as well. Everything was piping hot even after being delivered and was packaged well. I'll definitely be back! read more

The food was immaculate and honestly delicious beyond belief the service was great with energy in joy clearly being shown in the work place. Only comment i have is there was child banging quite viciously on the bathroom door while i was washing my hands but the door didn't unlock until i was finished as the doors intended purpose so good quality bathroom doors. I had lunch recently at Iguana's. What a disappointment. The service was poor and when the food finally arrived the portions were tiny although my chimichanga tasted fine. For some reason the utensils are presented in narrow plastic bags (no spoons), the chip basket was tiny, and the wooden holder storing the condiments was dirty with peeling paint. This has been the go to spot for my family whenever we are craving Mexican food! Our experiences prior have always been good but this time that was not the case. When we walked in, we were quickly seated. We all ordered our usual and the service was good but we felt that we were being rushed the entire time during dinner. We had come here with a friend so we wanted to enjoy the dinner and conversation but the waiter kept coming back to see if we were done. Our entire dinner lasted only 45 minutes and we left as we were rushed, but it was not a pleasant experience. Color me impressed to find very good Mexican food in Indianapolis. Having spent a lot of time in California and Texas eating Mexican food from high end places to food trucks to really divey joints opened until the wee hours of the morning, I can honestly say this was very good. My street tacos were legit and the side of chipotle type salsa was a nice touch. The proteins were tasty as was the corn tortillas. I also enjoyed a tamarind water - 32 oz - for about $3 so needless to say, I did not need a refill. Decor was what you would expect and service was adequate. We were fortunate to come during a non-peak time so it was fairly empty and we had the place to ourselves. If you need a fix, I can recommend Iguana's when in the area. read more

I've been eyeing Iguana's since moving to this area. It did not disappoint. Quick service, friendly patrons and rich food. The restaurant was clearly created with a lot of love and features many decorations from kids and the community. It's a very functional space and you can feel the love when you're here. We also happened to wonder in on Senior Wednesday (which is 50% off, I'm wishing I was older now)! With regard to the food -- One patron recommended their blue-lime margarita which was lovely. If you're a margarita fan, or generally a fan of a few mixed drinks, they pour them strong! The chimichangas and queso was excellent. You can't ask for more from a restaurant. They keep the chips and salsa stocked at your table, too. Iguanas always looks to draw in a decent crowd when I drive by. I can't recommend this place more. Thank you, Iguana team! read more

I stopped in Iguana's for lunch after an appointment close by. Parking is convenient in front of the restaurant with several handicap spaces close to the entrance and a double door entrance. The lunch menu is served from 11:00 - 3:00 Monday through Saturday. Since it was after 1:00 most of the lunch crowd had come and gone. With the layout of the restaurant I felt like I was the only customer but I wasn't. As you enter there are dining areas to the left or right and I was escorted to one of the small 2-top booths off to the side. There are many 4-top booths and tables and they can handle large groups. I ordered 2 pork burritos with refried beans from the lunch menu which was only $7.95. The burritos were stuffed with shredded pork, melted cheese, Ranchero sauce and pico de gallo. They were very filling and good. I would order again. If you are a Flan lover like I am you must try the Flan. It was creamy, excellent texture with lots of sauce an truly one of the best I've had. The menu offers all the standard items from Quesadillas, Salads, Seafood and Chicken dishes, several Enchiladas, Chimichangas, many grilled dinners including BBQ Ribs, Carne Asada, Chili Colorado, Carnitas to Molcajete Acapulco. Refried beans, black beans or charro beans are served all day. They also offer a very affordable kids menu as well as a few vegetarian entrees. If you enjoy margaritas you have the option of 10 house flavors plus six seasonal flavors in a 16 oz. ($4.95) or 27 oz. glass ($7.95) or a Pitcher ($15.95). Several speciality cocktails are available as well for $5.95. For the beer drinkers your selection runs from domestic, imported and draft beers. They offer 50% off an entree every Wednesday for seniors 55 or older. My server was excellent, very professional, friendly and checked on me several times. No complaints at all. It's my favorite Mexican restaurant in Plainfield hands down. Here again we love this place. Love the drink specials, a lot to choose from. So we went to the one in Plainfield today since they're open now for 50% capacity. I've been stopping by for carry out for chips and salsa over the last month at both locations. The chips and salsa were great as usual and I think the chips were the best ones I've had so far! Service was fine pretty much since it's only 50% allowed, but I think they have less staff too so you have to equate for that. I must say that the drinks we got though were sub par, and probably the worst pineapple coconut margherita I've ever had. Tasted totally watered down and had hardly any flavor. The ones at the Brownsburg location are way WAY better. Needless to say, I will probably be sticking to my local Brownsburg Iguanas from now on!! read more

So being a California girl we were so nervous to find a place with good Mexican food. Welp we found it! Being vegan there are several things you can tweak to make this place a hit. I went for the large tortilla plain bean burrito, topped with a red sauce. Not only am I still full but, it was as authentic to Cali as I have found yet. No tex-mex here. The margaritas are amazing, being that I can't consume sweet and sour they made a skinny margarita that was delightful. Fresh fruit inside.... Too bad I can only drink one, and so I generally stick with my favorite: the watermelon version. The drink specials here make me wish I had more tolerance build up, but alas... Anyways, besides the awesome cheap booze, they also serve food. Typical stuff you would see in the Mexican spots around town. Anything I had so far was always delicious and plenty of food. The parking lot is always jam packed when I drive by but tonight I was able slide into spot no problem. This was my first time here and the food was really good ! We were greeted by friendly staff and we were brought chips and salsa right away and our waiter was ready to get our drinks started. The food came out in less than 5 mins! I had the 3 taco combo(steak, pork, & chicken). The chicken was in little strips and very tender and flavorful. The pork had little bits of pineapple whichbI really like and the steak was, well, steak. The tacos overlapped each other which left half of my tortilla soaking in pork juices. They only use one corn tortilla per taco which was fine except the one that was soaking in pork juice. They have a lot of choices as well with a 9 page menu! I don't know how this place gets business. The menus were filthy, the tables were filthy, the salt shaker had dried salsa all over it. Our orders were messed up. I had to ask a different server to check on our drinks because they hadn't came and our server had been out in our area a few times since we ordered them... when we asked that server he didn't even say "let me check" he just walked in the restaurant..... Everything is a little slopped together, and the tostadas (should be a crispy corn tortilla shell base with toppings) were thrown in with the other plate items (beans, enchiladas, etc.) so arrived a bit soggy. Solid Mexican food offerings. The carnitas soft tacos were wonderful even if it's in the greasy side. You have to ask them for the spicy salsa that comes with the tortilla chips otherwise it's the standard bland salsa offering. But the real reason I go there is for their agua fresca pineapple. If I could leave a 0 I would. My wife went in there with her girlfriends and she is deadly allergic to pineapple. Everytime we eat at a Mexican restaurant we always make sure to let them know cause we understand some things have pineapple or pineapple juice. Well long story short if you have an allergies to food and worry about cross contaminated food I would not eat here. She is ok luckily so far but just beware of the lack of importance they put around not contaminating food. read more
