Service was good. I came here for lunch. They have lunch specials, chips and salsa, and margaritas. Overall the food came out like super fast. As they were not busy at this time but it made feel like maybe the food had been sitting. I tried a chimichanga with chicken. It wasn't anything special just basic to me, but I would try this place again just possibly for dinner or try a different menu item. Plenty of space inside here. Depending on your pallet you may think this place is amazing but me I am looking for more authentic flavors. Shout out to Margarito if that's his real name he was sweet. read more

Food was delicious, hot and filling. Service with a smile and the music wasn't too loud so you could talk normally of you were in a group. I love how bright and welcoming the restaurant is and the margarita hit the spot and was the perfect accompaniment to the meal. One of my faves to dine at and it had been too long. read more

A pretty typical Mexican restaurant. I enjoyed a simple steak quesadilla and a chorizo quesadilla so have not really explored the menu much. The service was fast and friendly and the prices were reasonable. Definitely will fill your Mexican food craving! read more

El Paraiso - Grilled Steak Quesadilla - Mexican Near Me - Plainfield, Indiana

This has been a go to spot for years, food and people are amazing and extremely friendly! Very welcoming. Love the updated new chairs and tables. Plenty of booths as well. Margs are on point and you can't go wrong with their salsa and chips. Great people! read more

Hello!! If you're in Indy and have not tried this Mexican spot, RUN there now, don't walk RUN. We inhaled the food so fast I didn't even have time to take pics. I ordered delivery through Uber and everything came hot and packaged well. Well everything besides the flan but the rest of the food was so good I didn't even care. They have super affordable lunch options and the portions are still huge. We ordered tacos with rice and beans, a fried burrito with rice and beans and a Texas chimichanga. I was a little hesitant to order the Texas chimichanga but it was amazing. There's a healthy amount of shrimp, chicken, and steak in the burrito. The tacos and fried burrito were hitting too. The inside of this restaurant is much like any other Mexican restaurant you may go to, bright colors and usually pretty loud. Seriously though, try this place out because you will not be disappointed. read more

Great food large portion. Great taste fresh. Try the cantarito! You can go wrong! Close to shopping and margaritas were not made from mix!

Doesn't look like much when you pass by this place but just stop and go in. The ambience inside is great and quite. There is plenty of parking space because the restaurant is located in the strip mall. They are opened for pick up and dine in everyday. They keep the restaurant clean and all employees wear mask. There is also hand sanitizer present up front. The food itself is delicious. Their portion is too big and challenging to finish in one sitting. read more

Stopped in for lunch while at work one day. This place is your typical Americanized Mexican restaurant but it did seem to draw a crowd of mostly Hispanic customers which I always take as a good sign. I went to the restroom when I arrived and there is a bit of a cleanliness issue. They need to get a floor scrubber and go over the tiles and grout. If they fixed this, it would be 5/5. I got the fajitas and they came out quickly. Good portion sizes and the prices are really low. I paid cash because I was a little uncomfortable using credit at a family restaurant when the total was under $10. I couldn't tell you the last time I had a full service restaurant and have to break a ten at the register. read more

Always good, carnitas are the best then the carne asada. Service is always fantastic. Atmosphere is exactly what you expect in a small family run restaurant. read more

A bright end to a very grim beginning. Just needing to eat something before catching a movie and went to 3 restaurants before getting seated! All hope was given up and this was our last stop before just going to McDonalds drive thru. Ordered the fajita with shrimp chicken and steak! Everything was on point! A new favorite! ***note: Yelp needs to start allowing video. Pics don't do this one justice. You must hear the sizzle read more

Randomly stopped into this restaurant for a quick dinner and was disappointed. The staff were friendly and service was ok at best. Everything we ordered was tasteless. Literally no seasoning which added to the disappointment being this is what some consider an authentic Mexican restaurant. We had taco salad, enchilada verdes and churros. Not even the churros were sweet and were extremely hard as if they had been sitting from a while ago and then served to us. We won't return but hopefully someone else has a better experience. read more

Service is quick and friendly, portions are large and filling. Standard food at fair prices. Go to when at Prarie Crossing and you're craving Mexican food... bonus note, they have fish tacos, shrimp tacos, and vegetarian options for those practicing Lenten observances (no meat Friday's). read more

I ordered the steak tacos they are ok I'll give it a above average you have to use the actual taco salsa to really get the full flavor and effect. But man that chicken rice soup... 5 out of 5 I mean it's visually beautiful, and makes your mouth explode. You can taste the Authenticity of this dish this is real as it gets. This soup puts you in Mexico having a traditional dish with your family with one bite! read more

Fantastic, fast service, wonderful food, favorite local spot for some Mexican cuisine

This place is decent. The last time I went (which was my first time) my experience was much better. I got the shrimp chimichanga. The shrimp was overcooked and the amount was stingy, and they never brought my extra sour cream to the table. My boyfriend had to flag down another waiter to bring it to me. His food was fine, he ordered the chicken chimichanga. On the menu it says it was two fried chimichangas but mine only came with one. I felt like it should have been stated on the menu. We ordered a small queso as well, and it was really runny like it was thinned out. The last time I was there is was thicker. The chips and salsa are really good though! The sign outside says under new management, so im wondering if that is what has caused the change? read more

By far the most authentic Mexican restaurant around. The staff is always so nice and the service is quick and almost never wrong. The food is so good! And I'm not sure if he's the manager or the owner but the tall guy who walks around is always making sure everything is okay and he is super nice. read more

This was a most disappointing dining experience. The salsa was bland, the chips seemed stale, the food was mediocre, and the service was just so-so. Perhaps the biggest surprise was an upcharge on both of our meals for ordering the beef instead of chicken option, although no mention of that on the menu. It simply said "steak or chicken". We'll not return. read more

This was hands down the best Mexican food I've had since moving from San Diego. It was fresh and flavorful and I will absolutely keep this place in mind the next time I'm in town. I got it delivered and it was ready well before I was expecting and I even ordered during busy dinner time. All in all, I would highly recommend. read more

El Jaripeo is nostalgic for me. This was the restaurant of my high school years, when I would practice Spanish with the waitstaff. I have a tomato/bell pepper allergy, so dining out on Mexican food is difficult for me...El Jaripeo is my old standby for when my husband is in the mood for Mexican food because they have 1 dish that I know is consistently good & is tomato free. I'm often not so lucky at the other surrounding Mexican restaurants around town. The food is consistent here, and has been for over a decade. That being said, El Jaripeo is in drastic need of some revitalization on the inside. It is just starting to look dated & worn, even the menus. That worries me. read more

It not El Jaripeo anymore but the food is very good. I would recommend the cheese dip and Pello Fundido.

El Paraiso - Enchilada - Mexican Near Me - Plainfield, Indiana

We've been to El Jaripeo quite a few times. It's usually very good, but on occasion they miss the mark. I find the margarita's overly sweet and not at all authentic, so I stick with beer. Others I've taken here like the sweet margarita. The food is a combination of some authentic mexican and some tex-mex. It's less cheesy and gooey than you'll find at other places in the area, which plays to my own likes just fine. I gravitate towards simple dishes - tacos, enchiladas, taquitos, and the like. It can get busy fast. Be patient in these periods. read more

This place doesn't not care about its take out customers. They ignore you and take forever to get your food. They should pay more attention to there customers instead of each other. Waited over ten minutes to get food after it was already bagged up unacceptable. Plus the food is not that good bad management read more

Pretty good Mexican food overall. The Margaritas are quite good as well as the Fajitas El Jaripeo. The decor is pretty average and the staff is friendly and attentive. \ I really hate to make this update, but unfortunately this place is going downhill fast. I think there has been a management change for some reason. It is still better than El Mason, but I think El Cerrito is now the best Mexican restaurant in Plainfield. read more

This us definitely the best Mexican place in Plainfield!! I usually go once a week and always have excellent service and the food is always good. I'm a vegetarian and what I really appreciate is how their vegetarian fajitas are actually the same size as a regular order of fajitas. Often places just give you the skillet minus the meat. They also have pretty good drink specials too. read more

Gah. Seriously? This was terrible. Terrible! The salsa was tepid cilantro water, and my "pollo diablo" was chicken covered in spicy ketchup, apparently. This is some of the WORST Mexican food I've ever had, and at twice the regular price. $25 for two people! Ridiculous. I'm kicking myself for not going down the street to El Meson. read more

Traveling to Plainfield, where to eat... hmmmm. Stumble upon El Jaripeo. It's a little overdone on the inside with decor, not a big deal, way too much candy on the counter, lol. Salsa and chips, good, big coke, good, nacho's carbone, good. I've never had nacho's with shrimp, steak and chicken, not bad. The queso cheese is good, and service was pretty good. Come to find out my friends have been here alot and call it the hairy armpit.. lol read more

This is no longer their name. It should be something like El Paraiso not sure on the spelling. Great food as before.

Pretty good Mexican food. Always served quickly. The salsa is really good and not always the same. I like the variety of vegetables in the vegetable fajitas. It's always a huge order of food. Service is great. Easy to get in and get out before a movie. read more

One of the better Mexican restaurants in the Indianapolis area. Typical Mexican cantina decor and mariachi music, giant margaritas, mexican and domestic beer - there is also a bar area, it is larger than most strip mall Mexican places. Located in a strip mall off of 40, so it is easy to miss. Lots of TVs playing college football the day I was in there. Lots of families eating here - expect a lot of kids and noise. The food is pretty cheap and pretty good - you can eat here with a (non alcoholic) drink for less than 10 dollars. I had the taquitos mexicanos - 2 chicken and 2 beef tacos in deep fried corn shells - meat was tender and delicious - and I think the only tacos that actually come with lettuce, tomato, sour cream and guac. It is a lot of food, so I ended up taking more than half of it home. They are really accommodating, my friend wanted something he didn't see on the menu - they made it, no problem. Service is fast and attentive - always keeps the drinks filled, and checked on us often. read more

I've been on a "strip mall Mexican restaurant" tour as of late. I found myself in Plainfield for work the other day and thought i would give this one a try. I ordered the "huevos mexicanos", which was scrambled eggs with onions and peppers mixed in. It was served with a side of beans and rice as well as warm tortillas. It was by far the best version I've ever had of this dish. I spent around $7 including tip. The portions were so large that I had enough leftovers for another meal. read more

I went to this place for lunch today. I tried their lunch fajitas and chimichanga. I ordered both without meat, just only vegetables. Oh ! fajitas were great, fried perfectly and taste good. Then I took a share from chimichanga dish ordered by my wife. I loved it too. Most people complain about service here but I didn't see such problem. When I was given table to sit, with in 1 minutes chips with salsa arrived and I placed my order. With in 5-7 mins, our food was in front of us... Not bad at all. Server was excellent too, very friendly. I would love to come back again very soon. Keep it up guys ! Keep the quality of the food good. read more
