Great Mexican restaurant in Greenwood! One Friday evening I decided to give Don Cuervo a shot. The decor style includes dark mahogany wood seating, black and white images throughout, and a wall mural by the bar of what appears to be of the Angel of Independence monument in Mexico city. My meal of choice was arroz con pollo. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The portion of rice seemed somewhat modest, but had a good, cheesy and zesty flavor. Service was kindly, although my server did seem a little rushed. She appeared to have her hands full attending other tables though, so understandable. Overall, a very good dining experience! read more

First time here.... I came for lunch with friends.. The staff is very friendly, and the place is casual... The food for me was so so... It lacked some flavor, and I felt bloated when I left.... They do a solid business and seem to be popular... maybe I got the wrong dish... I had the steak fajitas.... read more

As we walked in, we were immediately greeted and seated. The ambience was typical Mexican style very neat and clean with booths and tables. I can say the chips and dip were delicious but what was over the top was their Tormatillo sauce. It was thick had a wonderful taste, and on the spicy side, everything tasted like it was made from scratch. I had the beef taco soft shell. It was huge and a tamale. Also very good. I will definitely go back and maybe I'll bring some friends. read more

Service tonight was terrible! Had to hunt waiter down to place order. No check in after meal was served. Had to hunt waiter down again to get to go box and check. Food was decent, but server was not. Was not crazy busy. Us and 2 other tables. read more

Decided to stop here on my way home. One day has good reviews. It was dinner time. I was seated quickly, but not waited on so quickly the waiter was in such a hurry If I paused for a second he was like I'll come back then it took himforever to come back. The food was good. I really liked the guacamole and their chips. Their salsa was a little warm for me, but I still ate. It I ordered a small margarita got the medium size which didn't know for sure until I got my bill. I did not drink at all because I knew I would only drink a small. I did not say anything didn't figure he would not understand me. Not sure I'll go back just because I'm not usually in that location. read more

This restaurant is located in a little strip mall in Greenwood. They have an adequate size parking lot available, that it shares with the other businesses in the strip mall. The restaurant has two sides, one of which was open while I was there. that was the main dining area which had a few tables and booths. They also had televisions playing sports and Hispanic music playing in the background. The staff is friendly enough and the service was quick. They have a menu with your typical Mexican food including burritos, tacos, carne asada, enchiladas, fajitas, and quesadillas. They also have the favorite drinks that go along with the food like margarita, mojitos, daiquiris, and sangria. I ordered a steak quesadilla and got the chicken tenders for my little. The food was ready in about 5 minutes. My little's chicken tenders, were more like chicken nuggets and came with natural cut fries. My quesadillas came with rice and guacamole salad. It was ok. It was a little too salty for me. It was also luke warm, which I did not understand because it was prepared so quick. The Sangria is homemade and was very delicious. I almost made up for the food. It was chilled and had fresh fruit mixed in. I highly recommend you getting a glass, if you drink. This is an ok place to get Mexican food in Greenwood. It is very clean and has a wide range of Mexican food and drink to choose from. I will admit that my food was not the best. If I do go back, I would definitely try something else. The pictures on here looked so good though, and I had such high hopes. read more

I've visited Don Cuervo several times and always enjoyed the food. But there's something that's hard to ignore the more often it happens. As Hispanic customers, we're consistently expected to go to the counter to pay -- while American customers are brought the card machine directly to their table. Even when we're still seated and clearly not in a rush, no one ever offers us that option. Maybe it's not intentional, but after so many visits, it feels like a pattern -- and it makes us feel less valued. Restaurants should treat every customer with the same respect and care. The little things matter. read more

Excellent service and food. Drinks were DELICIOUS. Our food came out before we could finish our guacamole too. Hot, fresh food with an excellent atmosphere. Definitely will be back!!!! read more

Tijuana Brisket tacos. Enough said. I freeeeequent Don Cuervo just for those tacos, man! Every. Single. Time I go that broke at is ALWAYS tender, juicy and they aren't stingy with putting the meat in the taco. I love putting salsa on my tacos for added flavor but these need NOT A THING. I've dined in a couple of times but usually I order to go, never had a bad experience. HIGHLY recommend. The staff is also very friendly! read more

Pleasantly surprised! Great food and margaritas and a welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely be back

This place is now our go to when we crave Mexican food! The place was very nice and packed with people, I assume regulars because we will be now! Started with a perfectly mixed pitcher of Texas margaritas, the special on a Friday night! Kids got chicken fingers and hand cut fries and arroz con pollo. Both enjoyed their selections, my son never had arroz con pollo and loved it! Hands down the best fajita salad bowl I've ever had! Grilled steak and chicken with cheese, lettuce, onions, peppers, grilled corn, black beans, and avocado. Such a great combination and perfectly mixed. My wife's enchanted with mole sauce was amazing, her favorite now! The waiter was so nice and friendly! Even with a pitcher of margaritas, the value for what you got was well worth it! So much food and didn't break the bank! Super cool spot and will be back again and again! read more

Looking for a new local Mexican eatery so we stopped into Don Cuervo for some take out. It's located in a little strip mall on Smith Valley - next to a great local coffee place, Strange Brew - so it's in a convenient location. The restaurant is clean and the staff was friendly and attentive - they took our order, seafood quesadilla, carnitas and a large guacamole. Said it would be done in 15 minutes and it was. The food was all tasty! The salsa actually had some spice to it, which was nice! The chips were hot and fresh! It was definitely pretty good. It was a bit more expensive for less food than our usual place - but we are in this crazy inflation age... I'd go back and maybe eat there... read more

Now given we have not been in at least a year. I remember things being a lot better than what we had today. The chips tasted like they were from the cheapest clear bag from the grocery. We asked for things to be taken away from our dishes and or added and none of it except the no onions were correct. I know everyone is short staffed etc. So I get it. I guess I just expect a little more read more

Very nice establishment! Clean, smelled clean, lots of seating for groups of any size. Chips and salsa were great. Fresh homemade sangria was amazing! Chicken fajitas were enough for 2 people so that meant left overs for lunch the next day! My husband got a beef chimichanga and said it was delicious as well! Our 18 month old had bites of everything and approved as well! All the staff were extremely polite and had to stop and say hello to our little social butterfly. We will definitely go back! Next time I'm trying the street tacos! read more

I just came in to eat and was seated by the staff and served chips and salsa. I then sat there for 10 minutes and asked to put an order in and again sat there for another 10 minutes and nobody came around to take my order. I then went to the front and told them what was happening and they didn't care so I said I was leaving and they said goodbye. I'll never eat here again! read more

I have eaten here many times and it is always good!! When I want to order online this is my place!! Not many Mexican restaurants do online ordering. Their food is great and their cheese is awesome. When I order salsa, I always order a side of cilantro. Everyone's taste buds are different, I just like extra cilantro. They pack you lots of chips and napkins etc. Very pleased to order to go!! Staff is very friendly and service is quick!!! read more

This is a nice little Mexican food restaurant off the main drag. Friendly service, delicious food. I loved their salsa. You can taste the fresh ingredients and I loved all the fresh cilantro. I had the lunch fajita chimichanga. It was not made with shredded chicken like a many are and it had lots of onions and pepper in it...YUM! Also they topped it with a medley of Red, green and cheese sauce. I was very pleased and now need to try and keep myself from an afternoon siesta. read more

Don Cuervo is delicious. The restaurant is clean and the staff are friendly. This time I ordered the Don Cuervo Steak Quesadilla and man it did not disappoint! They were generous with the queso too, which I LOVE because a lot places are stingy with their queso. And for $13.99, you get a lot of bang for your buck! One of our favorite local places. Starting ordering take out when we were locked down during 2020, and four years later still love it.

Ones again this place is kinda disappointed with the cooks behind the kitchen, prices are ok, not complaints but my meat for fifth time is overcooked and tasteless, have to eat the last bite kinda cold because the waitress is not around and I have to be waiting for salt and tortillas. Ohh by the way I don't see my avocado salad in the picture and i see it in my bill. Shame that is one of the restaurants we visited at least 2 times a week... let's find out a better option !!! read more

We stopped y to try something different because we always go the the same Mexican restaurant. The chips were very good. Defiantly fresh and hot! The margaritas we ordered, think it was called the Don? Was yummy and strong as well. We thought the food was good and the decor very modern. One thing we could have done without was the loud music. It was just us in there and it just made conversations difficult. I'm happy we tried something new, but La Presa still has their loyal fans! read more

Ok, so I'm born and raised in Texas so I've had authentic, home-made Mexican food and of course, Tex-Mex. I moved here about 8 months ago and I just assumed I would have to put good Mexican food behind me because I'd never find it up here...at least not any that compared to any in Texas....but this place is right up there with any I've had. I was impressed with the presentation and even the chips and salsa. The wait staff was kind and attentive. I will definitely make this my go-to Mexican food place here. It is always busy during prime evening hours, and now I see why, but not so busy that you wait a long time. read more

Chips and salsa are very tasty. Salsa is made in house. Tacos De Asada (Steak Tacos) are amazing! The Traditional Guacamole is so good and made fresh. I will definitely get the guacamole again and next time I plan on trying the queso too. Good lunch specials and Taco dishes. Very friendly and clean. Small bar with good sized Margaritas! I have eaten here now about 5 times now and can't believe I keep going back. I've ordered everything from the Ribeye asada, street tacos which were carne, pastor and chicken all of which literally came out in 3 minutes, unfortunately they were so dry I couldn't eat them. This last time I ordered the chicken tostada salad and asked for no black beans but add refried beans, it came with black beans and the chicken was in some disgusting sauce. If any sit down restaurant would open up in the area this place would be done. This is not authentic Mexican cuisine! read more

Tried to walk in and pick up an order at the location at 8:26 PM today. A guy who was there who was just snacking on some food came to the counter to (help me). Found out It wasn't this location. I tried to place and order at this location and he did not want to attempt to take my order and told me to go pick up the order i placed at another location. It was rude for sure and I was just trying to place and order at Don since i'm a local who eats from the location occasionally. Worst customer service and experience i've ever had. I get the closing in 30 minutes, but when I was in food service it didn't matter to me. I wouldn't go to this place for take out but maybe dine in is a better experience. I just wanted two chicken tacos and horcha. read more

Been here twice. Food is decent. Menu is underwhelming. What really sucks here is the service. Last time I went there, I waited almost 45 minutes for food after we ordered, had to wait for them to fix one of our orders, ate food that I didn't ask for just for the sake of time, and then was told I had to wait "like everyone else" when I just wanted the check after waiting 20 minutes since I originally asked for it. The dinning room was cleared out, and the bar had people, so I didn't understand his issue or need to be rude. Also, most expensive Mexican I've had in a while. I mean, I normally don't complain about price, but I've spent way less and gotten way better food. The single pro is that the drinks are good, and it's very well kept. That's about it. I'd say the food isn't amazing enough to sit through that kind of service. The menu, again, is so underwhelming that I felt like I've pretty much got the full experience after two visits. The staff was nice upon entry, but they just didn't do a good job of time management and got an attitude on top of it. I learned everything I needed to about the place. read more

I was SO impressed with this place and I'm excited to go back! It has a different vibe than your typical Mexican restaurant. No flashy colors or decor that you're used to. It has a more modern look that I loved. I went on a Sunday during brunch time and it wasn't busy at all. We had great service. She was very attentive and friendly. The chips and salsa were not the best I've ever had, but still really good. I had the huevos rancheros and it was so delicious. They have three different kinds of "breakfast-y" plates like that, in addition to your typical Mexican restaurant menu. Despite it being early.. I couldn't resist a margarita and was so happy I got it. It was seriously one of the best margaritas I've had and didn't have that over the top taste that some have. It was so smooth and easy to drink. They even offer a 'skinny' margarita for those that are health conscious (unfortunately for a pretty outrageous price though). We were happy with the experience and have found a new restaurant to add into our rotation! read more

Don Cuervo - Huevos rancheros (a type of egg breakfast/lunch meal) -- definitely recommend! - Mexican Near Me - Greenwood, Indiana

It's close to home and decent food. The staff is friendly and efficient. The queso is good, not the best I've had but good.

I have been dining at this Restaurant for a few years now. I am here to tell you now, they never disappoint me. The very first time I had eaten here, I ordered the Don Cuervo Steak Quesadilla. I customized it with Steak, Cheese, and Grilled Onions only. I have never ordered anything else, staying loyal to this one menu item. This Quesadilla, is what I rant and rave about, every time somebody asks me if I like Mexican Food, or what my favorite place is to order from. It's always so full of the most juicy and flavorful Steak. The melted Cheese, is always so delicious; adding a fulfilling texture that completes and combines to perfection. The Grilled Onions, add a sweetness that blends well with the other ingredients, along with a gentle crunch. The Tortilla Shell, is always soft on the inside, but has a delicate crisp on the outside, with an outer toasted Cheddar garnish. The Tortilla Chips and Queso, are always a delightful appetizer. Their Soda beverages are always fresh and rotated on time, as well. The Employee's are always wearing smiles, punctual, handle rush-hours well, and take care of your every need. The Chefs are also very passionate about the their food. I cannot speak for the other Menu items or experiences, because I've never tried them. That is definitely a goal of mine, the next time I visit. However, for this item specifically? I attest, that it is worth the $13.00. You can always tell the difference between food that was made on-the-clock, versus food that was made with love. They definitely prepare this with love! read more

Best margaritas Don Cuervo's Revenge and con queso cheese too. Friendly staff, love them.

There's something that feels different about this Mexican restaurant compared to others in town that I can't quite put my finger on. What I do know is that there's a bit of kick in the food here that the others don't have, starting with both the salsa and queso. So be prepared for that, you might want to keep your water handy. I'm sure I'll expand my menu selections on future visits, but at this point the 3-pack tacos are my favorite. They're street tacos, so not your Taco Bell soft shells. You can get all three of the same flavor or mix and match for an extra charge, which I recommend to get a good sampling. I haven't had one I didn't like, but the pork does seem to be a pretty clear front runner. Bonus is the bathroom was really clean, at least on my visit. Always a good thing when I've got the currently-in-potty-training little one along for the ride. Looking forward to some additional visits here in the very near future. read more

I'm loving this place! I tried it when it first opened and was not a fan. I've recently tried it again and love it! The drinks are good, the food is flavorful and the salsa is delish. I wonder if they have a newer chef as this place has improved in the last year and a half!!!! read more

We eat here almost weekly. We've been to the hundreds of other Mexican restaurants in the area and this one is hands down our favorite. For me, my appreciation for this place is that everything seems to be that "next step" better than all the other places. The freshness, quality.... it isn't "gourmet" or extremely fancy, but it doesn't need to be - it's simply very well done! I've had fajitas, tacos (my wife loves their chicken tacos - not a bunch of ridiculous spice - just well marinated - her only "complaint" is that there's too MUCH chicken on them - as if that was a bad thing), burritos, enchiladas (love their rich, bold enchilada sauce), carnitas (VERY good)..... I love that it's not "just another Mexican restaurant." It's the usual dishes, just done better! With a bit more attention to detail, and that makes all the difference. read more

My husband and I really like to get Mexican takeout, and this is the closest place to our house so we get it a lot. It is filling and the portions are large, but there's some downsides. I don't like it when they put frozen veggies in the Mexican rice, although most people probably wouldn't care about that. I feel like everything I've ordered could use another scoop of sauce, so we always get extra queso and salsa to dump on our food. However, it's consistent, quick, and affordable, so a good takeout option for us. There's better Mexican in Greenwood, but this place is fine. read more
