    Texas Margarita Chips & Salsa

We've been fans of Tequila Sunrise for a long time. The quality and preparation of food is consistently good with an excellent selection. They carry the typical menu items found at most Mexican restaurants plus a few more. Our servers are always friendly and take good care of us. My favorite dinner at Tequila Sunrise is the 4 Chicken Mole Enchiladas Dinner. If you enjoy Mole sauce, I think you'll enjoy theirs. My husband typically selects one of the burritos. My husband can always find a cold 32oz. Dos xx Amber draft beer ($10) he enjoys, or another draft which sounds good to him at the time. I enjoy the Texas Maragarita with my meal, and they carry many margaritas. They serve cocktails such as Peachata, Tequila Sunrises, Pina Colada, Daiquiri, or Long Island Ice Tea. Margaritas range from House, Texas, Top Shelf, or their Signature or Special Margaritas. There are many nice brands of tequila shots as well. You'll need to ask about the seasonal beers on draft, plus they carry bottles, cans, and imports. Of course, you'll find premium spirits of whiskey, bourbon, vodka, rum, and others. Be sure to check out the desserts before handing back the menu. I like the Flan, Italian Lemon Cream Cake, or Brownie served hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Several other desserts are available, too. The outdoor sidewalk patio is now open when weather permits. Stop by if you're looking for good Mexican food or just drinks and appetizers.

Didn't have much expectations from this place since I'm visiting from Chicago and it's super easy to get authentic and delicious Mexican food but I will say that Tequila Sunrise was pretty darn good. They served us a huge serving of chips and salsa for the table which was warm and tasted fresh and the quesabirria was also really good! I wish the consome was more flavorful though, felt a bit watery but overall pretty delicious. We also ordered the choriqueso dip to eat with the chips and it was super good. They really don't skimp out on the cheese so take this as a warning haha. Overall, I think you would get a good deal here for decent Mexican food, I wish the restrooms were cleaner though.

I haven't been here in a long time and was pleasantly surprised to see they have remodeled the inside. Definitely a huge improvement and makes it feel more upscale. A friend and I arrived shortly after they opened on a Saturday and it wasn't busy at all. We were seated quickly and served tortillas chips and two salsas. I thought one of the salsas would be hot and the other mild but both tasted mild. We both ordered off the lunch menu and got the street tacos with carnitas, pastor, and steak. The meal also came with esquites (very creamy and flavorful), pickled cucumbers and red onions. Surprisingly it didn't come with beans. Everything tasted great but once again surprised nothing was spicy, which is fine with me but my friend loves heat and there was none. My favorite taco was the carnitas and my friends was the steak. I also ordered a mango margarita and that was good. The service was great and I plan to come here more regularly.

Great atmosphere, clean, delicious food and reasonable pricing. Nothing is cheap anymore, BUT this place is worth splurging from time to time. Chips and salsa are 10/10, Enchiladas of any kind 9/10, the healthy bowl 9/10, horchata drink 10/10! This is my favorite Mexican restaurant to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries and each time I'm impressed as if it were my first time!

Haven't been here in a year plus. They are Updating the inside bar included. Nice decor and great staff. Both quesadilla were top notch. We had another meal the regular chimichanga and it came with the best fried beans and Spanish rice I have had. They have stepped up their game and the staf take care of you and your needs. They are excellent.

I stopped in before going bowling with some friends. I didn't know this place existed and so didn't have time to research it before going in. The decor is vastly different from most Mexican restaurants I have been to and definitely didn't feel like I was in a Mexican restaurant. They have a lot of choices and I ended up getting the burrito del Mar and asked for tilapia instead of the shrimp which they were happy to switch out. The food was good, the rice had little flavor but the burrito was good. Even the cheese on top was not the typical thick, creamy queso you expect. Given the choice, I would visit one of the other Mexican restaurants in the area.

The staff were friendly and the food was great. The prices were reasonable and the food came out super fast. The waitress was very friendly and when she brought over all our food she did not forget a single thing

Nice ambience, friendly staff and good drink specials. It's located in a strip mall, but you'd never know once Inside. They have a pretty extensive menu offering with everything from ceviche to burrito bowls and everything in between. A good number of vegetarian and seafood options as well. Overall the food was average but the ambience is a bit better than other comparable places and we had a fun, friendly experience, even on a Friday night with a large group.

Outstanding Mexican food. Truly, some of the best Mexican food I've eaten in Indiana so far. And…read moreTlahcos is located in Plainfield, of all places. What a pleasant surprise! I got the quesa birria tacos, which is shredded beef and melted cheese in a double corn tortilla. They come three to an order, with a cup of red consomme to dip them into, and a couple of lime wedges to squeeze over everything. They do not come with any sides, so I ordered the refried pinto beans and carrot rice, because I really wanted some rice and beans. Beans and rice are my litmus test of any Mexican restaurant, and I'm happy to say that the rice and beans at Tlahcos passed the test with flying colors, and they are sublime. I don't practice Santeria, but perhaps the people at Tlahcos do, because their food is bewitching. The carne asada was also ordered, and it came with grilled nopales (cactus), cebollita canbray (little onions), grilled panela cheese, plus guacamole, salsa, rice and black beans. It was a 98%, and what would have raised it to a 100% was if it came with tortillas. But really, it was a great dish! If you're a person who is used to eating carne asada on a regular basis, you will be satisfied with this one. Chips and salsa are complimentary, which shows that Tlahcos knows its Plainfield-area visitors. My children, who eat like birds, filled themselves up on chips and salsa and declined a full meal, but Tlahcos does have a kids menu. On the kids menu, you'll find arroz con pollo, mini cheese quesadillas, a taco, mac & cheese, chicken nuggets and a mini pizza. Kid meals come with your choice of side, which are fries, rice & beans or a cup of fruit. They have a full cocktail list, as well as beer, wine and hot beverages (coffee and tea). I got a Paloma, which was a little light on the booze, but tasty nevertheless. The rim of the glass was beautifully decorated with Tajin, which added a nice, spicy kick. It was one of those drinks that makes you want to lick the glass.

The drinks are great. I have had the Birria tacos, the guacamole, the refried beans, and black beans, as well as multiple food options. Seriously, I have taken clients here as well as family. My most recent experience was still great, but there are two items I would never order off the menu. Let's look at the good and bad of these items: Baja Fish Tacos- I was looking for the cabbage-filled delicacies that are light but flavorful. What I received appeared to be small fish sticks stuck into a tortilla. The cabbage and sauce were tasty, but they could not mask the main cause of the tacos' failure: the fish. Do not order these. Ceviche Yucatan- looking for flavor with the light ceviche? That is not what this is. This is a large portion of ceviche dressed in a sweet sauce that completely overpowers it. Not even sure that you can call it a ceviche at this point. But the portion was good, and the ceviche ingredients looked fresh. Otherwise, we had the house guac, which was so so good, the birria tacos, which were amazing with the sauce as usual, the fundido, which was flavorful cheese and chorizo, as well as the Zapopan, which was a wonderful fusion of mango and spice (who knew bacon in this would be great). Housemade Horchata is great, not too sweet and flavorful as well as the Rita margarita! GREAT. Overall, a great night, some great food, and I will be back, but I will just not order the two items discussed above! PROS: Great flavors and food Good seating Good service Parking garage or street parking, easy CONS: Smaller actual bar top area
