Context: My dad moved to Mexico a couple decades ago, and I have a whole family that lives in Durango. We love spending time folded into the rhythm of life, because we're not tourists, we're family. Then I come back to Indiana, and mourn the loss of fresh ingredients and the way Doña Felix makes sopas... And today I found the echos of "home". Of course everyone has their special recipe, but the food was delightful and the people working were also super kind and welcoming. More often than not, I get a #11 combination to-go - a burrito, a taco, rice and beans. The service, food quality, portion and taste is always excellent. But when I arrived home this evening and opened the bag, found only half-portions of beans and rice. Perhaps this was a fluke - an inadvertent error. This is the worst Mexican food I've ever had in the Indianapolis area. Top that off with a staff who doesn't really care that you are there, and that makes it a true 0 star experience. I waited inside the door for 8 minutes for someone to seat me at lunch time. This might not seem crazy, but their "lunch crowd" was only TWO TABLES! Instant red flag. The greeter didn't ask if I had anyone else joining me (no big deal) and took me to a table for 4. He just kind of pitched the menu on the table, and turned away from me without saying anything. It took 10 more minutes for someone to show up for my drink order, and another 10 minutes for my drink and chips/ salsa to arrive. At this point I'm 30 minutes into my visit and haven't ordered yet. I finally got to order, and food arrived surprisingly quickly. Only one more table had arrived during that time, so now there are a total of four tables at noon. I ordered the steak burritos, which were dull, flavorless, and made from some of the toughest steak I've had in a long time. There was lots of gristle in the meat, making it extremely hard to chew. I actually spit out a few bites. During my entire visit, nobody came back to offer a refill of my drink. Nobody ever brought a receipt despite me waving at the server three different times. It seems all of the employees were congregated by the bar. I finally stood up and started to walk towards the door, where the cash register is. I think they were afraid I was going to dine and dash because someone finally ran over to help me. They asked for my check which I still did not have, so I had to tell them which table I was sitting at and what I had ordered. I'm pretty sure I got charged about three dollars more than what the price on the menu said. Overall, it was a terrible experience and I will never go back. read more

We come to this location every Wednesday at least 8 to 16 people. The food is great. The chips and salsa are excellent not hot. Love the margaritas they have alot ofdifferent flavors of them. Edith is our favorite server she never lets your drink go dry.This is why we always come back to this location in Brownsburg. It's the service everyone here is friendly and very nice. They always have lots of smiles. Hugs and fist bumps. We have never been to a restaurant where the people who are so friendly. Stopped in for lunch after a day of running errands. I was by myself and decided to get tacos for lunch. I've been in the area living for over a year but hadn't had a chance to visit the restaurant and I'm glad I finally did. It wasn't very busy when I arrived and I immediately got seated at a table. The ambience is bright and airy and the staff are friendly. I started off with the chips and salsa and let me tell you they were the best chips and salsa I've had in a while. I'm not sure if it because I was hungry but the chips n salsa was bomb. I ordered the tacos because I figured it would be just enough food. This restaurant is different unlike most restaurants they do give you a side of rice and beans along with your taco was superiored all the food was delicious no lie. I have visited Iguanas several times and it has always been a good experience. Spacious parking and indoor seating area. They also have a smaller outdoor seating when it's warmer.We arrived around 4:15pm on a Tuesday and it was not busy at all. We ordered margaritas, queso with tortilla chips, a big vegetable burrito and beef nachos. All of it was delicious and filling. The My big vegetable burrito was way too big to finish and had to get a box to go. Our waitress was sweet and accommodating. I have been a regular here and will continue to be. read more

We stopped here for lunch while traveling thru the area. I don't know how this place got such high praise. The food wasn't very good and it's dirty inside, especially in the bathroom! We split a steak fajita quesadilla off the regular menu since it wasn't a lunch option. It was not very good at all. The steak was tough and for the price it was on the small side. The onions must have been old cos the flavor was very deep and stayed with me into the next day. The rice couldn't have been more bland and dry. I did like the salsa, but the chips didn't seem fresh. The service was just so-so, but I think they were understaffed, so I'll give them some room on that. On my walk to the ladies room I noticed that the floor in the dining area was pretty dirty, but it had nothing on the floor inside the bathroom, which was horrendous. It was actually disgusting. It needs a complete overhaul in there. If I lived here I would not return, especially since there's so many other Mexican eateries in the area. read more

This is one of my favorite spots to eat in town. No matter how busy they get, food always comes out timely. When I go, I start with the complimentary chips and salsa. I like to get the nacos al carbon. Steak, chicken, and shrimp piled onto some tortilla chips drenched cheese, lettuce, and Pico. It's filling for sure. My toddler is on a chicken nugget and french fry diet and they have it available on the menu so thats a win. There are plenty of TV's around the restaurant so if there's a game on, you'll be able to catch it. read more

My family and I are in Brownsburg at least twice a year, and have been visiting Iquanas each visit. The food is normally good, but the service and consistency are hit and miss. On this last occasion, everything was fine with the exception of the waiter sizing down the margaritas from what we asked for, and the biggest deal- a fingernail in my food. My wife and I have both spent some time in the restaurant business when we were younger, and understand that things happen. I can overlook a bug or even a hair. Those things are bound to happen eventually. A fingernail however can't be overlooked. Especially when I bit into it. That, and the lack of consistency will have me seeking out a New Mexican place in Brownsburg next time. read more

Today is $2.99 margarita day so is Wednesday I come more than I care to admit. Excellent service and drinks. They have an extensive margarita menu with different flavors on the rocks and frozen. Coming from a Mexican I can say this place is authentic! I had the taquitos plate with shredded beef and it was absolutely amazing. Their drink choices are awesome, & tasty from agua de sandia, horchata, tamarindo, Jamaica etc They also have the most margarita flavor choices I've ever seen!! The menu was pages if food choices. So if you love margaritas this is the place to check out! However, We ordered 3 shrimp fajitas from the lunch menu & all the veggies were just really scorched black. The shrimp are smaller than other places. The meal had a burnt taste to it. The chips and salsa are good here. When our drinks came out I didn't like that one of the Glass mugs were broken. I waited a long time just to get seated in not busy restaurant. I ordered the Nachos Carbon, NO beans, limp lettuce...it was like a limp lettuce cheese soup poured over chips. So Tuesday night is half price senior night. HOWEVER it doesn't include the entire menu. The previous 6 times we've been, if we tried to order the things that weren't included we were told. Tonight we were not so when we cashed out, I questioned the cashier who could barely speak English and she informed me that certain things are excluded. I assume it was the manager standing behind her and said to me in a very rude tone "You should have asked". My response to him was no, You should have a menu specifically for Tuesday nights because it's very confusing". And then he said I was rude to the cashier, and at that point my husband was dragging me out. The service was very slow and the food overcooked. We will never go there again read more

With a ton of cars in the parking lot and the 10-15min wait on a Tuesday evening, they do get you sat fairly quickly and rearrange tables and chairs to accommodate you and your group! It's noisy, very vibrant, and smells great. The staff is super friendly and engaging with the guests. Despite the place being packed and the continuous line of people at the door waiting g to be sat the food came out in less than 10mins after we ordered. The food is hot and as you can see from my picture, very fresh! I can't remember the name of my dish but it's the only one served I. A pineapple It had shrimp, scallops, tilapia, and crab topped with cheese. It was also served with a foil pack of tortillas and a full plate of rice and black beans. The flavor was terrific and extremely filling. I also had a large horchata that came in a Mexican style vase or clay like vase with two handles on it for massive chuggability. The flavor on that was refreshing and fullbof flavor as well. The portions are very good size for the price. If I liked leftover seafood I would have definitely been able to make two meals out this instead of smashing it all in one sitting like I did. Highly recommend! read more
