The food was expensive. I had chicken pollo and rice. I added sour cream and some small tortillas. I had a soda. My bill was $23.50. We had slow service to place our order and it took awhile for our food. My sisters asked for some small things and they forgot. We had to ask for drink refills. They were not busy . Just for the record, I love authentic Mexican food. It's my type favorite so I adventure out quite often. I do not recommend trying this location. Our waiter was trying. Did not know English very well when it came to the street tacos not having cheese in between the corn tortillas after I asked specifically I do not want it but made it seem like I was confused. Food is great and service is even better. We didn't have to wait at all fast service. I order the polo fundido it was amazing my wife loved her quesadilla, she said even the lunch portion is more than enough. It's Inexpensive and casual and the resteraunts is clean and well decorated. Wife and I visited on a Saturday night- not super busy, and we were seated quickly. Waiter got our order quickly, and service was top notch. The food was good, but nothing out of the world. The salsa was probably one of my least liked salsas I've gotten at a Mexican restaurant- didn't have much flavor to it. The chips were cold- I always appreciate it when places throw the chips in the fryer before bringing them to your table. I got the street tacos. The carnitas were juicy, and were plentiful on the taco. The steak was well seasoned. The red salsa that comes with it had a nice kick to it and took the tacos up a notch. The rice was one of the better rices I've got from a place as well. My only other complaint was them sitting us in a booth right by the bathroom when there were plenty of other seats available, especially since it had a flickering light above us. I think I would return again- maybe even on a Tuesday night and get 99 cent tacos. read more

A great addition to the neighborhood! The food was delicious and the staff were incredibly friendly. The decor felt updated, modern, and airy but still traditional. I had the Ely's Tacos which was a combination of steak tacos and chile rellenos tacos. Both were delicious and the portion sizes were generous. My mom is a picky eater and enjoyed her soft tacos. They have specials during the week including $1.29 tacos on Tuesdays (beef and chicken) and 50% off on Wednesdays for seniors. We will definitely be back! read more

3 Agaves opened up not that long ago in Beech Grove. It looks much nicer inside with the new owners and renovation. Customer is so great and fast. The food unfortunately is mediocre. Which is a shame because it looks really nice. The flavor just wasn't there for me. read more

This is the first time I have been here since their major renovation( I guess around April). It's much brighter now in there. Colors are toned down a bit, but it's very clean and fresh looking. Has the typical Mexican music playing during dinner but not too loud - the atmosphere is really nice and the building is very open compared to the way it used to be. One big room with a bar in the back and the checkout in the front. Our waiter was very nice, very friendly. It wasn't too busy yet so he was stopping by every few minutes to check on us. Food came out very hot and well-made. We started with the free chips and salsa. The salsa was really good not too spicy but did have a little bit of a kick to it. The chips were fresh. We got Arroz con Pollo and two tacos with a side of rice. Arroz was excellent, their cheese here is very good. The chicken had some spice to it and the rice was well cooked. We also got two tacos, it was taco Tuesday so they were only $.99 each! One chicken and one beef- they were very good with some added salsa on top, they were perfect. Tortillas, chicken or beef, lettuce, and cheese. But very good. The price was right both of us ate for under $20. Highly recommend and we will be back probably next Tuesday. read more

Very surprised to find good Mexican food in Indianapolis. Not as good as SoCal, but I'd certainly eat there again if I were in the area.

I first called restaurant to see if open on holiday and they said "We are now, but who knows about later" pretty rudely. Decided to go there regardless as there was not much open on holiday. When I entered the music was extremely loud. I got sat down and there was a tv behind me with the volume on (bar tv) and golf on another tv with sound on. It was incredibly unpleasant. I politely asked my waitress if she could turn down the two TVs. She didn't seem to understand so she went and got a male server who came over and asked what the issue was. I asked him politely to turn down. He turned down TV and then as he was walking back by he rifle told me it was pretty normal for TV sound to be on. There was only like three other people there. He then talked Spanish to the kitchen and they all came out and looked at me and continued to stand in empty bar and talk sh@t in Spanish not knowing I speak a little Spanish. I stood up and was going to leave but I noticed he was walking out with the food. He told me he has been in the business for 10 years (as a server) and he knew what he was talking about. First time I've left zero tip in probably a decade. I was done with the place after this incident but my friend wanted to meet there when I told them I was close to that intersection one day. I ended up having the same waitress and the same rude waiter "Otto" or "Atti" was working as well. They started conversing and staring at me. Again the kitchen people started to come out of kitchen to look at me and my friend. I've tried to reach out to management/ownership and website with no reply on multiple occasions. read more

We gave the host a heads up that we would have 30 people coming in but that we didn't have to sit at the same table. When we arrived he had put us all at one table! We had a bunch of kids with us who were full of energy and the servers and employees were so kind to us! The food was wonderful and everyone loved their dinner! read more

Today was my first ever visit to 3 Agaves. I ordered three tacos to go. I was then told that there was an additional one dollar charge because the order was "to go". I then said "Are you serious?". The reply from them was "they have to package it and use a box" and argued that because the tacos were "only" 99 cents each, I was out of line objecting to the extra dollar charge.. So I then said that I would dine in and took a seat in a booth. When the food arrived, I took one bite and then said "I need a box" I also made sure to pay for the food before it arrived so that they couldn't try to tack on the extra dollar. The cashier then got nasty with me and said "Next time, go to Taco Bell" I will for several reasons, one of which is the tacos at 3 Agaves are terrible. No sauce and no cheese. The food has no flavor, and there's so much grease on everything. The beans and sour scream are watery, adding the Cholula hot sauce was my saving grace to finishing my quesadilla. The staff is nice but they weren't very attentive. The space is nice and got a nice face lift from the pervious restaurant but the place feels empty; the added bar looks nice but the high wall acts as a barrier for the staff to hide behind. I preferred the El Puerto from before, the food was better and the staff was friendly and welcoming. 3 Agaves was a one and done for us. Hopefully other people have better luck. read more
