This place used to be good, but both the food and service have gone downhill. Keep in mind you'll spend about the same here as you would at Bakersfield on Mass Ave or Condado Tacos, but with much lower quality. We ordered two burritos, a beer, and a margarita, and the total came to $80 way overpriced for what we got. The menu prices didn't even match what we were charged. Our server never checked on us once, despite the fact that we were the only customers in the restaurant (which now makes sense). The food was clearly reheated and came out dry. When we left, the manager was sitting at the bar with four servers (including ours) instead of paying attention to guests. The place is also dusty and poorly kept, which just added to the disappointing experience. Very underwhelming overall. I hope the owner reads this and gets things back on track, but I won't be returning anytime soon. read more

I came here on Thursday night with friends who wanted to enjoy the $2.99 margaritas. I had driven by plenty of times but never stopped. I should have stopped before this. I ordered Arroz con Pollo and a margarita. The margarita was what expected for $2.99. My highlight was my food. It was so good and a big portion. A friend got the friend shrimp appetizer and she choose the mango habanero sauce on the side. The sauce had the right amount of spice. I wanted to ask for a side to take home. Our service was great. Best Mexican food I've had. It's always fresh and I love the salsa. Staff and management are inconsistent with pricing and policies. Childish. This evening I ordered carry out for the second time in a week, and since my last order was sitting there on the counter, not exactly hot, and since no one said boo, and since it was carry out, I didn't include a tip this time. Staff and wait staff played with me for over an hour, including time for a trip home for my order # and the receipt on my phone. I finally asked for my money back and the (wrong) order appeared. Food was sloppily prepared and an extra salsa was missing. That's not the first time it's happened- sometimes you're their long lost best friend and other times it's like servers are playing hot potato and you Might get a drink. I look for reasons to tip 25%, but I'm not just going to throw money at El Corcel waitresses for treating me however they want. Oh my gooooodddneeeessss!!!! If you have not come in to try their food you 100% should!! I've been coming on and off for a while now, and it never disappoints!! Service was good, as always, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I went with my family, we all got different dishes, we got loaded oysters which are oysters with ceviche on top, they are spicy and so well prepared. They were slightly overflowing, which is always a bonus in my book. The salsa for the chip and salsa was very delicious and freshly done. I had the steak california burrito, pretty flavorful, I liked that it didn't fall apart like some do. I like that the restaurant has a full bar, and is decorated with a lot of hispanic paraphernalia. We ordered the chorizoqueso for an app. It was a little runny for our preference but it had good flavor. The salsa that was brought to the table was yummy, you could really taste the cilantro. We both ordered the fajitas, mine chicken, his steak. They offered either flour or corn tortillas, since we eat low carb, we opted out of either. The fajitas came out quick and were sizzling hot. While they were fresh, they were light on flavor. There were alot of veggies and not alot of meat. I visited EL Corcel No. 2 on a whim when I was in the mood for Mexican food. When I arrived I was let know that the restaurant was newly opened. The servers were very kind and attentive. I ordered queso as an appetizer and wasn't impressed because it was cold by the time it reached the table. I ordered the street tacos for dinner and I chose 3 different types: asada, carnitas, and al pastor. When I received my tacos the al pastor had great flavor but had a huge piece of fatty meat on it. I was upset because I really liked the flavor of the al pastor. The El Corcel didn't knock my socks off but wasn't a huge letdown. read more

I decided to take my mom to a local Mexican restaurant in the area last night Thursday Sept 30th. I remember passing by the restaurant last year(2020), from the restaurant having few cars in their parking lot, I watched them during the pandemic build a patio, and over several months I watched as the restaurant parking lot, and their outside patio started to fill up especially during the warmer temperatures. Going in the restaurant it's very accessible for everyone, there aren't any stairs, or a ramp just very low entrance in the restaurant. Inside of the restaurant it's so beautiful full of colorful Mexican decor, the wooden artistic chairs. The bar as far as I was seen was fully shocked up. For, dinner I had shrimp quesadilla it came with only three, there were so many big shrimps in the quesadilla, and it was very cheesy. My mom had the nachos fajita shrimp. We, both had an alcoholic drink I had Sex On The Beach, and my mom had a regular margarita. I'll definitely come back to try more items. Went here Christmas Day, and the service was great. I ordered the Al pastor, asada and carnitas tacos. The Al pastor taco came with spicy pork and pineapple and was so amazing. She came over and she changed a few things, but it was still wrong instead of changing the prices to make it correct she added things she would not talk to us. All she did was argue we ask the name of the owner. They told us that she was the owner and she would not give us her name. She turned around and walked away, would not even speak, I would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone the excuse they gave us is the prices are wrong in the computer so sometimes it comes up wrong so they couldn't fix it. This place is a little hidden gem on the west side! This is my new favorite Mexican joint. It has a Peruvian mix as well which brings me back to my days spent in Iquitos, Peru! If you are in Indy and on this side of town you've got to check this place out!! I would definitely recommend not filling up on chips and salsa, but if you do, the salsa is nice and fresh. I ended up eating the whole basket before my food came out and let me just say...the portion was huge. It was definitely sharable but I ate that all too! Service was a touch slow and The waitresse didn't check on me until got up to get my own hot sauce. That's the only reason for 4 starts. Otherwise the quality of the food more than made up for the super minor inconvenience. My whole dinner comprised of fried shrimp, fish, squid, mussels, and yucca and for the amount of food the $22 price tag was reasonable. Did I mention it also came with real corn nuts! We sent them a picture of our paid receipt & the restaurant wouldn't acknowledge it. Kept telling them they couldn't "understand" them. Our friends asked for strong margarita & an extra shot. This building has been a few different things over the years and I've wanted to try them all but never made it. Now they serve Mexican food and my husband and I finally made the stop. We were greeted quickly and seated but it took about 10 minutes to get a drink order in and they weren't busy. Our waitress took our drink and food order at the same time. Food and drinks came out at the same time which is not common and we were thirsty! I got the arrow con pollo which I was pleasantly surprised when it came out with cooked onions in it. We were never checked on again so our waters were never refilled and we had to waive her down for a box and our bill. It took 10-15 more minutes to get the box and bill. I have been wanting to stop here and finally did. I was delighted to start my meal with a large margarita that had a decent amount of tequila- but a little on the sweet side. The chips and salsa were good but the seafood choices made it hard but I ended up with a variety slightly fried medley meal that was delicious. The dish had mussels, calamari, oysters fish and shrimp. The side salad was also very tasty with a lime dressing. There was so much food I took it home. The place was clean and had a lot of light which is nice because it makes it feel spacious and comfortable. Service was excellent. We had a very attentive waitress and the food came by very fast. This restaurant recently opened in the former "Dugout Bar" location on 56th Street just west of Georgetown Road. I've stopped in for lunch on 3 occasions and dinner (6 of us) once. The food is good with a large menu selection and the margaritas are excellent. The service is friendly but somewhat lacking. Servers not being attentive to customers, forgetting to bring requested extra salsa (their's is really good, IMO) and side items, generally slow with drink reorders, good luck getting a check, etc. This might be due to the newness of the business but doesn't seem to be improving. That said, overall, I would recommend trying this restaurant. I really like it if they would just step up their game. read more

Everybody ordered the drinks at the same time, but the waitress forgot to put part of the order in the system, so half of the group received the drink and the other half have to wait for aprox. 20 min extra. 3. When you receive you drink make sure is the right one, the will bring to you something completely different or with out putting attention in what you requested before 4. My husband and I decided to finally checkout this place after driving by for months. I was in the mood for tacos and he wanted a burrito but once seated and looking at the menu, we changed our minds. We ordered the chori-queso to start, very good! For drinks he got a large margarita and I had a Negra Modelo. He went with fajitas and I got caldo de res, both were very good but his fajitas could've had more shrimp, he only got three. Eagle Creek's newest Mexican restaurant just opened in July, 2019. The salsa is fresh, and the cheese dip was delicious - rich and a good consistency. My wife had authentic Mexican style tacos, which were outstanding (traditional tacos are also on the menu). My fajita taco salad was also a hit- with fresh peppers, tomatoes, cheese sauce and fajita chicken. The server was friendly and attentive, and the manager came to our table to welcome us and announced that the full bar would be available by the first weekend in August, 2019. Their food definitely has more of a Hispanic twist over the chained restaurants, since a lot of those places a made for Americans.
