This unassuming food truck has my favorite tacos in Indy.
    Sydney S.

I'll admit - I was initially pretty skeptical of the taco truck that seemed to appear out of nowhere in the parking lot of a pool business in Brownsburg, Indiana... I mean, you'd be skeptical too, right? Thankfully though, one night in the Fall, the restaurant I was planning on going to was closed and this taco truck was on my way back home so I thought, why not try it? And let me tell you - if you like authentic Mexican tacos, this is the place for you. They serve carne asada, carnitas, chicken, and pastor (and probably something I'm forgetting too) - I have tried them all and the pastor is my favorite. The tacos come with cilantro and onion on top and different salsas, cut lime, and cut cucumbers on the side. You can also get them with cheese, lettuce, and sour cream for a little extra. Those same meats I mentioned can also be made into burritos, tortas, or quesadillas. The burrito and torta I tried were also delicious but nothing tops the tacos. For drinks, you can grab a coke or a jarritos soda. On top of the delicious food, the woman who has taken my order every time I've gone (and I go way too much) is always so kind to me. She asks about me and my baby (I was very pregnant my first time stopping by) every time. After ordering your food, you just wait in your car and someone will run it out to you. *Make sure you bring cash - they are cash only* I don't know why I've waited so long to write a review for this wonderful truck. These are my favorite tacos around and I think everyone should know about them.

It's an old USPS converted to a food truck.

Best AUTHENTIC Mexican food in Brownsburg. Their burritos aren't the biggest, but they are delicious. Tacos are great too. Cash only!

    Tlahcos - Quesa Birria

Outstanding Mexican food. Truly, some of the best Mexican food I've eaten in Indiana so far. And…read moreTlahcos is located in Plainfield, of all places. What a pleasant surprise! I got the quesa birria tacos, which is shredded beef and melted cheese in a double corn tortilla. They come three to an order, with a cup of red consomme to dip them into, and a couple of lime wedges to squeeze over everything. They do not come with any sides, so I ordered the refried pinto beans and carrot rice, because I really wanted some rice and beans. Beans and rice are my litmus test of any Mexican restaurant, and I'm happy to say that the rice and beans at Tlahcos passed the test with flying colors, and they are sublime. I don't practice Santeria, but perhaps the people at Tlahcos do, because their food is bewitching. The carne asada was also ordered, and it came with grilled nopales (cactus), cebollita canbray (little onions), grilled panela cheese, plus guacamole, salsa, rice and black beans. It was a 98%, and what would have raised it to a 100% was if it came with tortillas. But really, it was a great dish! If you're a person who is used to eating carne asada on a regular basis, you will be satisfied with this one. Chips and salsa are complimentary, which shows that Tlahcos knows its Plainfield-area visitors. My children, who eat like birds, filled themselves up on chips and salsa and declined a full meal, but Tlahcos does have a kids menu. On the kids menu, you'll find arroz con pollo, mini cheese quesadillas, a taco, mac & cheese, chicken nuggets and a mini pizza. Kid meals come with your choice of side, which are fries, rice & beans or a cup of fruit. They have a full cocktail list, as well as beer, wine and hot beverages (coffee and tea). I got a Paloma, which was a little light on the booze, but tasty nevertheless. The rim of the glass was beautifully decorated with Tajin, which added a nice, spicy kick. It was one of those drinks that makes you want to lick the glass.

This is the third time coming to Tlhacos. I have always been impressed with the food and love the…read moreatmosphere. Customer service has been exceptional on all of my visits. The drinks are great. I have had the Birria tacos, the guacamole, the refried beans, and black beans, as well as multiple food options. Seriously, I have taken clients here as well as family. My most recent experience was still great, but there are two items I would never order off the menu. Let's look at the good and bad of these items: Baja Fish Tacos- I was looking for the cabbage-filled delicacies that are light but flavorful. What I received appeared to be small fish sticks stuck into a tortilla. The cabbage and sauce were tasty, but they could not mask the main cause of the tacos' failure: the fish. Do not order these. Ceviche Yucatan- looking for flavor with the light ceviche? That is not what this is. This is a large portion of ceviche dressed in a sweet sauce that completely overpowers it. Not even sure that you can call it a ceviche at this point. But the portion was good, and the ceviche ingredients looked fresh. Otherwise, we had the house guac, which was so so good, the birria tacos, which were amazing with the sauce as usual, the fundido, which was flavorful cheese and chorizo, as well as the Zapopan, which was a wonderful fusion of mango and spice (who knew bacon in this would be great). Housemade Horchata is great, not too sweet and flavorful as well as the Rita margarita! GREAT. Overall, a great night, some great food, and I will be back, but I will just not order the two items discussed above! PROS: Great flavors and food Good seating Good service Parking garage or street parking, easy CONS: Smaller actual bar top area
