    Das fritz uber combo

Really liked the pretzel with cheese. I hot the uber combo which includes a drink, pretzel, sandwich, and chips for $12. Everything was tasty!

So I probably should have reviewed this last time they visited my work, but better late than never? My work brings food trucks around every so often and Der Preztel Wagen has been around a few times now. Each time I try to convince myself to try a new sandwich and each time I order the Das Fritz. It is just...delicious...I mean...how could they screw up this combination: Turkey, Avocado Ranch, Bacon, and Cheddar Cheese. YUM. Their pretzel bread is outstanding! Price is fair for a food truck, which always seem to come with a bit of a premium. The combo is only ok and I skipped it last time. They also offer legit full size pretzels that look great but I haven't tried because I have to pretend to not be overly unhealthy sometimes. Another important aspect is that they are typically pretty fast about getting sandwiches out which is important at a business that has lots of people and only 30 minute lunch breaks! I am sure I'll be eating a Das Fritz again sometime soon.

German name, Stars Wars flair, and amazing sandwiches! Am I in Heaven? Gott in Himmel! I cannot say enough great words to describe this amazingness on wheels. I have had the Skywalker, the Greedo, and the Chuebakka. I will have them all soon. You know a place makes excellent sandwiches when you drive 15-20 minutes out of your way to have one. I am excited to try the Das Fritz and Ham Solo next! The pretzel bun is what makes the sandwich. Never hard, but not too chewy either. (no pun intended) Served warm, it accents the meat and other toppings amazingly well. The portion is perfect, they don't skimp on the meat. The staff is fun, friendly, and pleasant. I went two days in a row and they remembered me, bonus points! If they ever did a German sausage sandwich, they have to call it "The Hothwurst". If they sold beer, I would be in BIG trouble. It would be the only place I would have to go! Stop reading this and find out where they will be next!

These guys make delicious sandwiches and have a very fun vibe. We got a combo that included the large pretzel w cheese, chips, soft drink and a pretzel bun sandwich that you collect at the right side door. On the left side they offer an assortment of fancy mustards. This is a yummy food truck by any reckoning, and quite popular!

One thing you need to know about me: I love bread & cheese. In this case, pretzels and cheese! Husband and I tried out their offerings on a recent visit to Triton Brewing. I got the Skywalker sandwich and a pretzel. Their sandwich buns are pretzel buns so yeah, I love me some pretzel! First of all, the sandwich was so good! It has turkey, cool ranch Doritos, habanero jack cheese, and jalapeno aioli. I always go for the spicy stuff! It definitely brought the heat so I was very happy! The Doritos added a nice crunch which I am always happy for on my sandwiches. The pretzel itself had a great outer crust but was soft and fluffy on the inside. The cheese on the side was good, but it was refrigerated so I would say warming the cheese up would make it even better. Husband had the Das Fritz which had Smoked Turkey, Avocado Ranch, Bacon, and Cheddar Cheese. He was a fan! I really liked looking at the stickers on the trailer; I like to see if I've been to any of those places! I'll definitely look for them next time!

Fresh and delicious. I'm smitten. I had the Greedo sandwich - and it was just so tasty. I know I was the envy of the office during lunch. Their location - because it's a food truck - always changes. But it's posted on their website in advance, along with a menu and the ability to order online. Derpretzelwagen.com

Der Pretzel Wagen popped up near my office in a cluster with Scratchtruck, NY Slice, and Taste the Caribbean last week. This set me to pondering. Do I run over and grab my beloved Scratch Burger? Or do I try something new? New won out because, well, it was Friday and chances are there would be red meat on the menu for dinner if Husband had anything to say about it. I opted for the Das Fritz. It was a perfect lunch morsel. The pretzel was appropriately soft in the middle and chewy-ish on the outside. The inside of the sandwich had the most amazing avocado ranch sauce that had my tastebuds screaming for more. At the last bite, I was both happy and wishing for more. My stomach, on the other hand, firmly insisted thanks, but no thanks. I was completely full and very happy with my choice. Tschüs for now, Der Pretzel Wagen. But I'll be back for more before you know it!

This is my first food truck experience in Indy and it was delicious. The owner is really friendly, the menu is small but great! The Chuebacka was unique and tasty. The bun was perfect, the horseradish was not only good but also sinus clearing, and the meat was perfect! The pretzels are also great, really nothing on the truck that will disappoint. If you can track this truck down I definitely recommend you give it a try!

Meh. I just bought two soft pretzels off their food truck. They were greasy and overcooked. The flavor was virtually nothing. Disappointing.

The staff is kind and efficient, the food hits the spot and then some, and it doesn't blow the budget. I'd say these are some of if not the best traditional tacos in Indy, along with deliciously authentic tamales and jam packed burritos. I've tried most of the menu here at this point and will vouch for it all. My humble recommendations include supreme shrimp tacos, pastor, chorizo, and asada tacos- the last few with just onions and cilantro. Their pastor makes me doubt reality it's so ridiculously good. I'd also suggest the pork tamales, house pineapple drink, and platanos fritos- fried plantains with a sweet and milky cream cheese topping. And definitely grab some extra homemade salsa. I've turned countless people onto this taco truck and it's become a weekly ritual for coworkers and friends alike.
