    a box of baked pretzels

Since they left the location at 56th & Keystone in the Meijer, getting a pretzel is harder to come by because my choices are: Southport Meijer, Pacer game, or State Fair. Since the last 2 options are seasonal, driving to Southport is a bit of a stretch for a pretzel considering the increase in gas prices and lack of EV charging stations to charge up while I am in Meijer. Side note on the EV charging stations - they are available at Meijer in Columbus, Ohio and I wish they would hurry up and come to Indiana. The employees are nice whenever I visit and usually have hot pretzels when I go which is what I like with extra butter. So I was excited to see the pretzel-making kit that will allow me to make Ben's Soft Pretzels at home. I also grabbed a pretzel for the long drive north to head home since the normal route is now plagued with detours, road closures, or traffic due to the first two situations. I can't wait to make pretzels at home soon. They do take mobile payments (Google Pay, Samsung Pay, Apple Pay) which is a major plus.

I love this place, even if, ah, sometimes it's a bit too much for my tummy. The garlic and Parmesan pretzel is the BEST. Always so soft and delicious - mmmm. I could eat this every day (if I truly hated my body and wanted my blood to be filled with salt and butter lol). Staff are usually pretty good. Location is inside Meijer, up front, on the grocery side, of the store.

It's a 2 to 3 star. Sometimes the pretzels are good... Sometimes they've been sitting for awhile and they are hard and gross. A lot of them will tell you the truth but a few have not and it's very disappointing. I've been offered a free pretzel if it's been sitting there for too long. I'd rather them make me a new new yummy one. :)

Soft pretzel joint inside the South side Meijer. I'm not sure pretzels can be messed up, at least not drastically. Stopped by Bens after grocery shopping. Cashier was nice and offered additional items for purchase like a drink or extra dipping sauce. Went with a Bens original jumbo pretzel. Which was semi cold. Food temperature is my only complaint. All the pretzels are salted unless otherwise requested. Small seating area available for a quick bite. They serve Pepsi product. Garlic Parmesan dip is probably the best dipping sauce but they do offer a wide variety from savory to sweet. Parking is readily available but you have to compete with those going into Meijer.

Ordered a "Stay Home" Soft Pretzel kit. They also have cinnamon roll kits. The kit came with everything. Pre-packaged in the right amounts and clearly marked. Special flour mix, yeast, baking soda, coarse salt, and cinnamon sugar. In a very cute recyclable burlap bag. On the bottom of the box is a coupon for 50% off your next order. Included were really easy to follow instructions. And tips. It was shipped overnight. There's also different locations where you can arrange to pick up. The kit came with two bags. Each bag makes six huge pretzels or eight medium or 10 to 12 small or you can make several dozen pretzel bites. Or mix and match shapes and sizes. I also participate in a free zoom hosted class. And there are videos online. Very patient, knowledgeable thorough Teacher. Easier to make then I thought. I was very impressed with the kit and the quality of the products. Everyone of all ages really enjoyed. Everyone's turned out very well. The house smells so good. Took me a while to figure out how to shape them. Which is obvious in the photos. (but I have to say I love the little chubby ones with the condensed dough). Once I slowed down and paid attention and listened I knew the amount of dough to use and for this left-handed baking challenged person once a I laid the dough down instead of trying to flip it in the air like the pro I got the hang of it. It was so fun. And the pretzels are just delicious. Best pretzels I've ever had. They can be frozen before or after baking. And keep in airtight container a while. Such a great local business with the most delightful owners and staff. I highly recommend you order a pretzel kit today for your family and play it forward and order for another family. (I learned the hard way, don't make a batch of pretzels all by yourself when quarantined solo). Great family or group activity. Any age. And it counts as a homeschooling science lesson and math lesson! Please consider donating pretzels delivered to someone on the front line. This would be an awesome Yelp event! https://www.benspretzels.com/ #PretzelPartners #WorldPretzelDomination #HaveAPretzelDay

Hands down the best food option at Bankers life. First floor to the left when you walk up the stadium steps.

I've driven by the Bakery, so many times and wanted to stop, but I was always in a hurry. My sister and I went in and we each got a dessert and because it was four in the afternoon, we got decaffeinated coffee. The refills were free and we sat at the little counter like we were at a diner and enjoyed everything about this iconic little bakery. The decor is a eclectic. We just took our time and looked around and laughed at so many signs and odd little things that were placed over the years. On the way to the ladies room, you will find out that the gentleman that started the restaurant fought in one of the world wars, and you will see his worn out shoes, his uniforms, his letters of accommodation and Learn his story. Now let's get to the desserts. We shared some type of a wonderful lemon pastry and a black forest cake. Best black forest cake I've ever had. Savored every bite. We were able to buy the last of the springle's that they had made from Christmas. FYI, if you don't like black licorice don't buy Springerle's but you can only get them at Christmas because it's a German tradition and they won't work in the summertime because of the humidity. Things that I learned that day. We saw that they had a dinner menu with a huge variety of different bratwurst and assorted sausages that we would like to try sometime. We ended up spending an hour and a half in a beautiful little place that we thought we were just going to stop and grab desserts to go.

We got there early and were able to have some drinks and food, including the nachos. Man, I was not expecting BBQ sauce and like a mustardy sauce and cheese and it was flavor exploding, loved it. With the event we had catered pork/chicken as well as sides. Everything was great, the peppercorn dressing for the salad was so amazing, I would definitely think of a salad here in the future. The venue inside the space, with the car, is quaint with seating and you get to see everything happening outside the space as well. This last time, we were in the original Guggman Haus brewing building that houses the coffee. This is adorable! We had service the entire time, including a bartender and the beer. They made everything super easy and I would consider this space for a baby shower, bridal shower, etc. We had 25 people and it fit wonderfully. There is also outside space for overflow, so it makes it very reasonable. Now onto the beer! I had the IPA Riverside, very hazy with a great flavor. Then I went off the rocker and ordered some prickly pear drink, I was not expecting how good that was! Refreshing and light, easy to drink (probably too easy) and the flavor was perfect! Try it if you are there, it is a newer option. PROS: Parking easy, street and lot Many open spaces and areas to rent Games are included, so eat, drink and enjoy company They have trivia nights, woohoo CONS: Sometimes the food is not always a hit, nothing to state specifically today, but I recall in the past saying to myself, don't order that again. So, try everything and find what you like. The place is great and the beer/food options are good, so you will find something you like.

Schwarbier was my favorite! They do have food but you have to go to different windows. It was easy to do. I had Dip Trio which was really good. I want to stick with something healthy. But it was good. I love the Spinach dip. This is great experience. If I am back in town, I would go this again and also will definitely recommend to my friends and family to go here.

On my first visit today, I had the Hot Wurst sausage sampler plate that was wonderful! But watch out for the spicy mustard! It's eye watering!! & the "original 6" beer sampler was delicious! The only (big) thing that tainted my experience was the extremely loud waitstaff having very, very loud conversations (it really shouldn't involve constant yelling & screaming), behind the scenes. Their voices echoed throughout the space & were a constant annoyance to an otherwise wonderful meal. That was a real dealbreaker for me. If it's the same next time, I won't be revisiting.

The old Bavarian charm remains throughout the restaurant. Our visit this time was prior to the MJ MUSICAL at Old National. It's right across the street. The staff is well aware of their diner's itinerary and backs certain you can enjoy cocktails, wine, and dinner in time for the 7:00 pm start time. I applaud that courtesy. It was evident that our server, Cindy was a seasoned employee (20 years). Her attention throughout our visit left us wanting for nothing. I noticed many times her surveying our table for refills, empty plates. Her big smile and friendly personality only added to the exceptional experience. The food is prepared in the traditional German style. It is rich and very filling. The portions are enormous. Our party enjoyed an appetizer of Brat & Kraut balls and entrees of Schnitzel Parm., Jäeger schnitzel, spinach dinner salad with hot bacon dressing and my favorite "Oxtail Soup". Just the item for a cold winter night. Patrons of OLD NATIONAL CENTER shows should start their evening off right with dinner at THE RATHSKELLER. You won't be disappointed.
