While I love having a shop with chocolates nearby, I'm not typically the biggest fan of chains, and the prices here are sky high. They do have individual chocolates available by the pound, ice cream, and packaged/ gift chocolates. Last time I also saw some caramel apples covered in a variety of crazy sweet toppings. If you're desperate for some chocolate and on Mass Ave, go for it. I'll take it over grocery store shelves of chocolate, but be prepared to spend big for a tiny amount. read more

The peppermint ice cream drew me in from the Mass Ave sidewalk since that's my favorite ice cream flavor and usually a limited time treat. Kilwins is a chocolate or sweet lover's dream. Chocolate treats, ice cream, fudge you got it! There's also packaged treats that would make nice gifts. Spied a chocolate train that we thought our kiddo would love. The ice cream price was rich but didn't regret getting the strawberry ice cream with real strawberries. Service was incredibly kind and helpful. Venue bright and clean but didn't see any seating. The perfect after-dinner sweet treat! There was a long line, but we were happy to wait. While we waited, we were able to look at all the pretty displays of chocolate and candies they had available. It is your typical candy store experience with fun colors and cute decor, but the best part is their ice cream. They were unfortunately out of the flavor I had wanted (Mint Cookies and Cream). However, the lovely lady scooping the ice cream suggested doing half and half with mint chip and cookies and cream as a substitute. Honestly loved this place! It is a cute candy and ice cream shop that was perfect after our dinner on Mass Ave. I ordered the lemon sorbetto and it came with two large scoops. I would recommend scanning the QR code by the ice cream section for the menu on your phone because they have the flavors and prices is tiny font when you get to the counter. Stopped in after dinner and settled on the praline pecan in a waffle cone. Excellent creamy rich flavor and great variety (32 options). The worker was super kind and helpful. We tried the fudge and the maple walnut was really good. I liked how clean and bright it was in the store and that they make most of their items in house. If I were picking a gift for someone who likes candy I would definitely come to Kilwins due to the freshness of the product. The ice cream is very expensive though, for 1 scoop in a cone it was over 7 dollars. I assume the candy was equally, if not more, expensive. read more

We stopped in here after lunch to get a little chocolate dessert and I'm glad we did. This was our first visit to Kilwins and it was a pleasant experience. What a great place to go for gift shopping. They have sea salt caramels, Bonbons, truffles, caramel apples, and more. We were greeted as soon as we went in by a very friendly employee who was helpful and engaging. She gave us chocolate samples and also ice cream samples. If it hadn't been so cold that day I would definitely have ordered the yummy toasted coconut ice cream to go. Next time for sure. Customer service alone is 5 star worthy. My first time there I went 15 minutes before closing. My friend and I got some ice cream but were looking at all the other goodies for next time. We ate our ice cream outside and after a few minutes the store was closing when a couple approached the store as an employee was locking up. The employee welcomed them in. I love Kilwins! I've lived nearby for the past few years and stop in every once in a while. They do get pretty busy here, so I'd expect a little bit of a wait - but oh man is it worth it. Always a pleasure to visit a Kilwins and this location is no exception. This time I brought my mother and aunts and we had the best time picking out fudge and having ice cream with their home made cones. Keep in mind I am a huge fan of their fudge and Carmel apples but they didn't have as much of a selection on this particular Sunday. The service was great and the store was clean and fun. I took my mom, and niece to Kilwins ice cream shop on Mass Ave on Saturday afternoon May 20th. It wasn't my first time there I've been a few times when It opened 2019 which was a mad house. Luckily, for us when we went there Saturday afternoon around 5:30ish there weren't any customers there besides myself, mom, and niece. The ice cream shop in the busy booming Mass Ave, there are no stairs at all just a low ramp sidewalk. Once, in the Kilwins ice cream shop it smells so delicious chocolates, sweet treats, and ice cream. They don't offer any ice cream samples since it took up way too much time, and when wanting ice cream there are labels on the ice cream windows. My niece ordered one scoop of half of the moon ice cream and half of vanilla, my mom had two scoops in a Waffle cone lemon sorbet, and lastly I ordered two scoops on a cake cone cookies n cream. Once, we put in ordered, paid for the ice cream all of sudden the crowd came. Inside, of Kilwins ice cream shop on Mass Ave is very clean, smells good, you'll definitely gain weight by smelling the delicious sweet treats. Ha! I thought it was a good idea to bring my mom since she was talking about Kilwins ice cream when she visited one in New Orleans, and my mom didn't know about the one in Indianapolis. Definitely a favorite of ours! You can smell the goodness of the place as you approach the building! There's homemade ice cream, waffle cones, popcorn, and a plethora of chocolates! The staff is friendly and offer taste tests of any of the flavors! Definitely get the S'mores ice cream! Perfect perfect perfect is all I can say! Its the perfect combination of marshmallow, chocolate fudge, and graham crackers! Soooo yummy! The chocolates are great and so are the caramel covered marshmallows! This place is the cleanest example of a modern "Faux-G", Faux-Original Gangsta Ice Cream & Fudge Parlor. From the wallpaper to the simulated tin ceiling tiles, no expense was spared and no detail overlooked! I live around the corner so it's become a fun place to wander, nothing in the store is ever disappointing. All of their ice creams have a great consistency & the texture of the fudge is absolutely splendid. The milkshakes and floats are made with love. I haven't raided the chocolates just yet but their presentation cases are beautiful! The staff is as friendly as you'd expect from a shop in the early 20th century, with that classic mid-west charm! You are always greeted with a warm welcome and they are very "Costco" friendly, you can legit get full on samples. While it looks old school, its brand spankin' new & in a new development (as of summer 2019). They keep it absolutely spotless! The new owners and their staff are very nice and allow unlimited samples of fudge and ice cream. We opted for ice cream (sea salt carmel, dark chocolate cashew, chocolate chip cookie dough, and Kilwin's tracks) and also got milkshakes made with their cookies and cream ice cream. All were to die for, of course. The milkshakes were $9 each and one scoop of ice cream was a little under $5. Pro-tip: ask for 2 kid scoops for ice cream and you won't be disappointed. It's basically one scoop but you get two flavors in a cup. Seeing as this moved in a block away from our apt I can safely say that we'll be back and that's a dangerous thing. Enjoy! read more

Had a very pleasant walk down Mass Ave window shopping and our many adorable 4-legged friends along with their families. The ice cream parlor was neat and clean, service was okay with an indifferent staff who were cordial just not very friendly. My sorbet and the kiddos ice cream had good flavor and the fudge I tasted was good. All in all, it was a good visit. I would probably try again but would get a different flavor. You know those businesses where you just get a very "transactional" type of experience? Where it just doesn't feel like a local, mom-and-pop shop? That's what I got from here. Step inside the rather small Kilwin's that's located on Mass Ave and you'll be surrounded by all things sweet and sugary. Fudges, chocolate candies and bite-sized treats, ice cream, and more. I recently came and got a kids size scoop of the chocolate espresso ice cream. A friend got a normal one-scoop of ice cream and it was over $9. Lol what. Not only that but the thing that weirds me out is that they weigh the ice cream. I get that it helps with consistency but it just made it feel like a very impersonal experience and that they're more interested in making money than pleasing the customer. There is very little seating (if any?) inside the shop and there's one bench outside that is covered by an awning. Will I be back? Yes. But, there are many other local shops within a mile or two that I'd rather support before this place (ie Best Chocolate in Town). read more

Love this place right in the heart of Mass Ave. they have amazing fudge, candies, my personal favorite ice cream! They have at least 20 flavors and some really ice ones (banana fudge pie, apple pie, etc). The staff are always very nice and the store is very bright and clean. Our cashier, Aiden, was friendly and helpful. He told us the favorites of customers and himself. We decided on a sea salt caramel apple, smore bar, and chocolate covered Oreo. It was delicious! There is no seating in here so most people get it to go- they only have two benches inside. Tip: get your Apple cut- I did not do this and regretted the mess later! read more
