If it wasn't for Yelp, I would have known about this little ice cream shop. The place is located on a sidewalk directly on the canal. There is no indoor seating, but there was a small table outside or a wall to sit that overlook the canal. You order at the window with a choice of cone, toppings and twenty flavors. They also have several house specialties, such as a Baklava Sundae and milkshakes. The clerk was friendly and our cones came out quickly. The scoops were generous on the medium cones. My Coffee ice cream was creamy and delicious, not overly sweet. Delicious! My husband had a Rocky Road cone that disappeared so quickly that I didn't get to try it. Parking is challenging, we found free parking about a block north. If you bring your dog, you can get a pup cup. read more

What a cute little ice cream shop! I didn't even know this was here. I rode my bike there and met a couple that was just finishing up and leaving. First the woman recommended the baklava sundae and then when the husband joined us, he said the same thing. I wanted a "kid size" but they unfortunately don't offer that so I opted for a shake that I could drink and continue to ride. I had the baklava shake and it was tasty! The flavor kind of reminded me of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Definitely will venture back this way for another treat sometime and I'll bring my doggies for a pup cup they offer! read more

Nicest employees ever! They were so enthusiastic and friendly, saying they couldn't wait for us to try the baklava sundae because it's that amazing. This spot is owned by Canal Bistro next door, so they make the baklava fresh daily. I don't even have a huge sweet tooth but the baklava sundae was worth it. Definitely give it a try! It's huge and you can share it with at least one other person, if not two. They also have a baklava milkshake, as well as all of your traditional flavors, cones, root beer floats, etc. This spot is located right on the canal and faces the canal, so you won't see it from the street. I found this place through a yelp elite event. I knew I needed to bring my wife back here, and was great to bring some local and out-of-town family as well. I'm not the biggest ice cream fan -- it's just too mushy and melty. But give me some ice cream with chunks of THINGS in it (like house-made baklava), and you have my attention. Canal Creamery makes their baklava fresh every morning, and this is the baklava that they add to their baklava sundaes. Needless to say: You need to get the baklava sundae. My baklava sundae was perfect: layers of phyllo dough, sugar and nuts layered with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, more nuts and a cherry on top. It was like eating a pecan pie a la mode. I don't like ice cream, but I loved this sundae. One of my sons got a brownie sundae, which he devoured. All of the sundaes come with whipped cream, nuts and a cherry on top, unless you ask for something different. My other son kept it simple and just got chocolate ice cream in a cup. They have kid scoops, which I asked and paid for, but we received a huge portion. My child even said, "This is like three scoops!" So I guess kids' portions are pretty big here. This is a walk-up ice cream shop, so there is not indoor seating. But there are lots of tables outside, so you can enjoy your ice cream while looking at the ducks floating on the canal. Canal Creamery faces the Broad Ripple canal, and it's easy to miss when you're driving. Just look for Canal Bistro, and you'll spot it: It's connected to the restaurant. I got a baklava sundae that was absolutely delicious and my friend got a baklava shake that she also said was excellent! Pro tip: bring a friend because the sundae is huge! Very cute little spot right off the Monon! We stopped here before dinner while we waited for our table to be ready and it was a nice way to pass the time and have a snack while walking the Monon trail. I got the moose tracks + vanilla ice cream in a waffle cone and both flavors were soft, creamy, and decadent. My husband got the baklava shake and it was smooth, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet. Each of the dogs got a pup cup that came with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream, fresh whipped cream, and some bone treats. They were a hit! This is a walk-up window ordering situation, so it is "pet friendly" in that aspect. Canal Creamery has turned into one of our favorite places. We've stopped may times for a sweet snack. The Baklava Sunday is amazing. The regular sunday is also great. I came for the baklava shake and will return for the amazing service. The young woman who served us made my son his first smoothie. Omg the cutest new ice cream option in Bripp! This is conveniently located on the back side of Canal Bistro and is the cutest pale pink color- you can't miss it! We tried the Baklava Sundae and it was absolutely incredible. The Baklava is homemade and you can 100% tell. I think it might have been the best and most authentic Baklava I've had in the U.S.! Not only was the sundae amazing, but the gal and guy working there (I wish I got their names!) were the sweetest and so helpful and enthusiastic! Had lunch at Canal Bistro and afterwards our party ordered ice cream from the Canal Creamery which is an addendum to the restaurant. You can't get cones when you order from the restaurant but our wonderful server Sky had them stick one on top of our granddaughter's Pistachio sundae.
