I was downtown so I thought I would stop in here and take a look around. I walked around the shop and there were a couple of friendly people behind the counter that chatted with me and also gave me a couple of samples. That was really nice. I will say the prices in here were pretty high I haven't been in a chocolate or candy shop in a long time and maybe that's just how it is now. They did have some Valentine candies that they had for 70% off and they had Easter candy that I believe was 30% off. I did purchase a couple of those Valentine candies and that they were still fresh. We stopped by for a quick hot chocolate and got coffee in it. The service was pretty quick unlike reviews, I was out with my to go coffee hot chocolate in less than 3 minutes. The chocolate cafe has everything from gelatos to truffles and speciality chocolates plus gourmet popcorn. It's a nice place and is pretty busy which is expected for downtown. We ducked in after getting dinner and drinks at The Oakmont. Super friendly staff, very attentive. We got a variety of items, and we were chatting it up with the staff as we conducted our business. Asked us where we were from, how we like Indianapolis (we love it here!), and what not. Check it out if you get a chance. read more

The Guys working last night were fun and accommodating. We discovered good ice cream and cheesecake cheaper than Cheesecake Factory. The atmosphere is so relaxing! There is a little room with these cool doors to hang out and play games if that's what you wanna do. I love this place and I'm certain you will too. read more

I wish I had read the other reviews before coming here because they're right... the service is awful. The lady has a bad attitude, talks disrespectfully, and just does not care at all. The only and I mean ONLY saving grace is the flavor of everything. It just tastes so good! So that's what would bring me back because of the use of real chocolate and the rich flavors. On the other hand, it's a pretty Penny to come here too. So this is really hard to balance out between a rating and recommendation. Luckily I was just touring the city one last time and decided to stop so I spent the money and it was worth it but I couldn't come time and time again like I would want to... it'd be so much fun to bring the kids here frequently to get a piece of candy or something but I couldn't do it. And the way the customer service is... yeah no. I say come at your own risk. Just be prepared. Get the hot chocolate cause that was 10/10 and I cry every day that passes that I can't have it. I'll give it a four so this gets more attention but I agree with the three stars. I really wanted to leave a good review too which also makes me sad. read more

The lady at the counter was so sweet, and was really easy to talk to. The location is so cute, and when you first walk in the door it's like an old time candy shop which I love. I ended up ordering a cappuccino and a slice of their white chocolate raspberry cheesecake, and both were perfect. The cheesecake wasn't too sweet which you find with a lot of fruit flavored ones, and I love coffee so the cappuccino was an easy sell for me. read more

Great Chocolate! Pretty expensive though but we were in town so it was a special treat. The place looks like a great little candy shop and it did not look ran down to me at all, and I'm pretty picky about that kind of thing. My service was great the girl at the counter was nice. We got some chocolate bars, large pecan patties and coffee the chocolate was actually really good and so was the coffee. It was a good experience for sure. A Chocolate Shop? That should be an automatic 4 YELP STARS because of what they're selling! But Chocolate Cafe bumps it up to 5 because it is a wonderful, magical place. And I say that as a tourist who was on the Circle City Tour. We had just visited the Soldiers and Sailors Museum and it was a chilly day. Tour Guide Carrie suggested we go enjoy a hot chocolate here to warm up. As the Cafe is located along popular Monument Circle, it has a great spot to entice Choca-philes such as myself. Once inside, Chocolate Cafe is chock full of all things chocolate, as you can imagine. Great gift ideas here too. Nice selection of yummy ice cream, chocolate candy and popcorn plus fudge!! The coffee smelled fresh and strong and the hot chocolate hit the spot. The outdoor cafe with al fresco seating did not beckon me as it was icy outside but I bet during the hot summer, it would be the best place to hang out. EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF!!!! I walked up to the door at around 8:03 on a Sunday, every platform says they are open until 9 pm. When I get to the glass door, the worker behind it says "We're closed" sarcastically. I tried to ask why, but I was cut off by her saying in a more rude voice "We are closed." I'm so disappointed because I was excited to try their desserts but I was met with this horrible experience. read more

Bought a couple boxes of chocolate and was not thrilled. It was ok, but maybe a bit old. Maybe because of COVID items on the shelf are there longer. Not sure...??? Had a cappuccino that was good. Was not to happy about the girl making it tho. Her mask was not on properly and she was coughing. We will try it out again when things settle down a bit with the pandemic. I had just a few hours to explore downtown and desperately needed a cup of coffee. Chocolate is a always a bonus, so when I saw this place on the circle I figured I would give it a try. The staff greeted me right away and was a little over zealous in offering the deals of the day. I barely had a chance to look at anything or say hello. I said I would probably have a coffee but was still looking and they made me a plain coffee without me realizing it. Points for trying to serve the customer, but I wish they'd pointed me in the direction of the coffee and cocoa menu instead because if they hadn't jumped into making me a plain old coffee, I would have purchased one of the fancier seeming specialty drinks they make. I took the coffee, bought a couple of cute little boxes of turtles as gifts, and took a seat to work for a bit. No wifi, and the interior is pretty rundown, which I was surprised about considering the business itself seems to want to attract people for a novelty experience and local product. Only rating this one star because I had a bad experience with one of the staff members. I asked for what price the white fudge would be and the staff that had "helped" me said $46.99 I then asked another staff and she said " $8.50" The first staff member that I went to asked "how much am I willing to spend and she'll cut me a slice and tell me" It was very a weird experience. read more

Walking around after a lovely dinner we stopped for an espresso. What they gave us was about 5 oz of dirty water. One cup was lighter than the other, so they pulled one, then the other from the same grounds. I, politely asked the barista to make a new one as this was not acceptable for a $3 shot. We got the same thing. I said "that is way too much water! Just one shot, one ounce or so. She said she gave us three shots. I said, no, you gave us one shot and two ounces of water. She said she did not pit any water in it. Apparently, they make their coffee with broth. I asked, again, politely and even a bit apologetically if she could make two one-ounce shots of espresso. We walked out, took one sip and threw both in the trash. Horrible coffee. It tasted like the machine has not be cleaned in months. i ordered an iced chai latte, nothing crazy. after touching the inside of the cup, i was given a hot cup of milk. like a hot. cup. of. milk. when i went to ask for chai in it and ice I got a cup of chai tea and a glass of water with coffee grounds. if you like $6 hot cups of milk this place is great though. read more
