I needed to get some breakfast before a meeting in Plainfield and this looked good. I'm glad that I stopped in. The staff. Was very friendly and welcoming, the interior was extremely clean and comfortable, but not over-decorated like some small places tend to be. They had a very traditional Midwest breakfast/brunch menu. The food service was quick and the presentation was good. The western omelette was good, nothing special. The grits were well prepared. The pancakes were the star. I wish the syrup had been warm, but at least it was served in a large clean pitcher.

There are a few flapjacks franchises around the Indianapolis area that I'm pretty sure are locally owned. I've been to the Lebanon, Indiana and The Brownsburg, Indiana locations for breakfast many times and the food has always been good. I went to the Plainfield, Indiana location this past Saturday and I have to tell you it was a great experience. We pull in the parking lot and I kind of cringe because it was packed and we didn't have a lot of extra time. This place runs like a fine-tuned watch. The server came to the table as soon as we sat down. She brought us our drinks? The server then came back pretty quickly and took our breakfast order, and then, I'm not kidding when I say this, in less than 10 minutes the breakfast order was at the table and it was cooked to perfection. The eggs were cooked perfectly I asked for crispy hashbrowns because I don't like them mushy, and they came out exactly as I asked. Everything about the experience was perfect. If you're looking for a good, locally owned, hidden gem of a restaurant in Plainfield, this is it.

The first time I came here a month ago and I had the Eggs Benedict. It was one of the best I have had in Indiana. Cooked perfectly, and the sauce was spot on. I got a side of potato pancakes. You spread sour cream and applesauce. I.wouldn't get this again a little too much grease. The Service is excellent the staff are really nice ladies. I went back last Friday the Eggs Benedict was over cooked, and sauce had too much flour. The sauce was too thick, and didn't taste right. They were going to remake it, but it would have been the same sauce. I ended up ordering an omelette which came with a pancake. The omelette was overcooked. It had ham, spinach, and Swiss cheese. I didn't saw anything. My thought was it was 130pm-2, and they wanted to go home. What really upset me was the lady was mopping the tables all around me. So I was eating and smelling floor cleaner.....not a good way to represent.

If you want some bang for your buck head on over to Flap Jack in Plainfield!!! Each time I have gone here, the staff has been friendly and prompt. The waitress are always joking around, and make the time pass while still giving great customer service. The portions of food are plentiful. I have yet to leave not feeling like I ate a feast, even if it was only one dish I ordered. The Farmhouse Benedict is a huge portion of food. It's 2 biscuits topped with a large serving of a breaded tenderloin with gravy on top. The side of hash browns are plentiful, and everything tastes delicious!! The best part of going to Flap Jack's is that you get treated like family. It's turned into our local Sunday brunch place when my entire family has the day off. I highly recommend giving this place a try for a nice homestyle meal!!

Our server Emily was cheerful and informative. A parking garage across the street served us well for dining at this restaurant and attending an event at Hendricks Live across the street. The shrimp cocktail appetizer featured fresh large shrimp with dollops of horseradish on the plate and a nice sauce. I enjoyed the steak frites entree, a generous portion of steak perfectly cooked, served with a delicious broccolini and tasty fries. My sister ordered the chicken marsala and noted that she would have liked more sauce, and the truffle potatoes were delicious. My brother said his huge pork chop was perfect, and my sister in-law recommended the sirloin steak. We had reservations and were seated at a high top table, which is not my preferred way to dine but the restaurant was full so we didn't ask to be moved. We had a bit of a wait for our entrees and chalked that up to it being Saturday night. There is a separate bar area and rooftop dining with igloos available.

Eh, fell a bit short for me…read more The ambiance and vibes are great! Service was great as well!! The food is where it fell short for me. I drove an hour to visit this place and saw lots of good reviews. I started off with a lemon drop and a snack short rib eggroll. The lemon drop was watery and just did not hit like I would have hoped (I'm a lemon drop girly). They do use Titos as their well so that was good. The egg roll was dry- you definitely need to dip in the wasabi aioli to make it palatable. Next up were the buffalo chicken hush puppies. I like the idea here. The inside was moist and flavorful and the outside was kind of dry and drizzled with what I think was ranch. They were ok. I have a Ceaser salad add chicken and "fried" Brussels sprouts. The salad was suppose to come the onions , there were none so the waitress brought me some. The salad was mid at best and the chicken was dry and unflavored. I asked for some spicy ranch and that saved the salad! The Brussels sprouts were pretty good. My friend had the potato soup and said it was very watery (not creamy at all). I enjoyed the live music and overall vibe but good was average. Parking is an issue as well. There is parking in the rear or a parking garage but not super convenient parking.

I got the quesa birria tacos, which is shredded beef and melted cheese in a double corn tortilla. They come three to an order, with a cup of red consomme to dip them into, and a couple of lime wedges to squeeze over everything. They do not come with any sides, so I ordered the refried pinto beans and carrot rice, because I really wanted some rice and beans. Beans and rice are my litmus test of any Mexican restaurant, and I'm happy to say that the rice and beans at Tlahcos passed the test with flying colors, and they are sublime. I don't practice Santeria, but perhaps the people at Tlahcos do, because their food is bewitching. The carne asada was also ordered, and it came with grilled nopales (cactus), cebollita canbray (little onions), grilled panela cheese, plus guacamole, salsa, rice and black beans. It was a 98%, and what would have raised it to a 100% was if it came with tortillas. But really, it was a great dish! If you're a person who is used to eating carne asada on a regular basis, you will be satisfied with this one. Chips and salsa are complimentary, which shows that Tlahcos knows its Plainfield-area visitors. My children, who eat like birds, filled themselves up on chips and salsa and declined a full meal, but Tlahcos does have a kids menu. On the kids menu, you'll find arroz con pollo, mini cheese quesadillas, a taco, mac & cheese, chicken nuggets and a mini pizza. Kid meals come with your choice of side, which are fries, rice & beans or a cup of fruit. They have a full cocktail list, as well as beer, wine and hot beverages (coffee and tea). I got a Paloma, which was a little light on the booze, but tasty nevertheless. The rim of the glass was beautifully decorated with Tajin, which added a nice, spicy kick. It was one of those drinks that makes you want to lick the glass.

My visit to The Green Room Cafe was nothing short of a caffeinated revelation…read more From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was enveloped in an atmosphere that felt like a secret garden had collided with an artist's dream -- warm, inviting, and humming with just the right kind of energy. The service was absolutely impeccable: attentive without hovering, warm without pretense, and delivered with the sort of genuine hospitality that makes you feel less like a customer and more like an honored guest at an impossibly chic gathering. And then came the drinks. The pistachio latte was a masterpiece of balance and indulgence -- velvety, nutty, and luxuriously smooth, as though a pistachio grove had somehow been distilled into liquid silk. Each sip unfolded like a sonnet. The wildflower latte, meanwhile, was pure poetry in a cup. Delicately floral without being overpowering, it carried an almost ethereal sweetness, like spring itself had been persuaded to dissolve into espresso. It was whimsical, elegant, and astonishingly memorable. The Green Room Cafe has achieved what so many coffee shops aspire to but few truly accomplish: creating not just beverages, but an experience -- one steeped in artistry, comfort, and just the right amount of enchantment. A triumph. Five stars scarcely feels sufficient. Oh, and parking was mindlessly easy, the owner was present, the bathrooms impeccable, nursing mother's room near restrooms and high ceilings to dissipate the hum.

I love finding a coffee shop that has their own house made syrups. I tried the monthly special, Wildflower latte with an added espresso shot and sadly it just tasted like flavored milk. I want to be able to taste the espresso and decided to pivot to a cocktail instead. Their cocktails were well made and the presentation was perfect. While there isn't a large selection of liquors, they have the staples to make most go-to cocktails in addition to their monthly specials (both cocktail and mocktail options). The food is what really stands out and would bring me back. You are able to choose a salad, flatbread or sandwich and their creations are unique and delicious. I had the pesto, peas and goat cheese on flatbread and was pleasantly surprised to find I could order the flatbread as a half order for $9 instead of committing to a whole order. I will be back but the coffee still needs some work before it would be enticing enough to became my go to location. Overall, it's a fun spot with options for everyone and a great addition to the Plainfield area.
