Good location in Avon with great signage and plenty of parking. The app for the "get in line" was not needed on a weekday mid-afternoon. Service up front was great with a waitress that was friendly, but turned out to be forgetful. Also toss in a kitchen issue. Dining room was clean. Orders placed for three. I got the power bowl and add avocado. Added a Tres Leches French toast as a splurge with this being my first meal of the day. Also this dish is great to split. Also ordered millionaire bacon for the table. Coffee and water for my drink. I like that FW puts water bottles on the table. Food pushed out fairly quickly and no one immediately noticed bacon missing. I noticed no avocado and alerted the waitress who said it was on the ticket. The avocado came out quick, but almost nothing with two tiny slices. My bowl and French toast were good. The Tres Leches French toast ultimately turned out to be overly sweet for me to finish. Myself and my family recently went and had breakfast here. We were visiting from Washington State. The food was absolutely amazing! I had the carrot cake pecan pancakes and they were delicious. They are HUGE but very good. I had scrambled eggs on the side. The food was nice, warm, and tasty. The customer service was excellent, and the vibe was modern and casual. I went to First Watch in Avon during the middle of the week for a brunch. Well for me it was lunch as I already had breakfast. Anyways We sat down got the menus and put in our orders. One of our items the bacon appetizer never came out but was taken off our bill. The rest did come out. I ordered the 1/2 sandwich salad combo. The size was very generous. The sandwich was ok a decent fresh sandwich nothing outstanding but not bad in any way. The salad was very fresh as well. While trying to be healthy I found that I don't necessarily like Kale in my salad, but hey I have to try new things. So if you like Kale then you will love this salad. I thought it was ok. We did have an overall good experience minus the missing appetizer. I would probably only go back for breakfast as there is a rather small lunch selection and most items are breakfast related. We came right before the crowd and were seated right away. One downside is that the tables are pretty close together, so we didn't have much space and could easily hear nearby conversations. Checked in online which I highly recommend! Seated right away only to wait 10 min for a waitress even to appear. Ordered drinks and food together. Million dollar bacon is good. They had a summer special tres lache strawberry French toast, comes with no sides . Very disappointing but it tasted good. Husband got the chickichongo it tasted good but the shell was over cooked. I'm a longtime fan of the First Watch chain. I'd been eyeing this particular location while handling some family issues in nearby Putnam County that have had me driving through Hendricks County multiple times weekly. I simply haven't had time to stop. Yesterday morning, I finally made it. This seems like a newer location and is quite beautifully decorated. The ambience is casual and welcoming. It's in a strip center and there are ample accessible parking spots and curb cuts. The glass door entry is a little heavy, however, employees are nearby and fairly quick to assist if needed. The hosting station is right inside the door. First Watch has both indoor and outdoor dining options. They can accommodate smaller parties and larger parties fairly easily. As is always true with First Watch, this is a breakfast/brunch/lunch spot that closes at 2:30pm. They lean toward healthier fare. They have a juice bar, teas, Project Sunrise Coffee, and the menu includes organic, gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options. They do not serve alcoholic beverages at this location (some First Watch spots do). I was seated at a comfortable table. I ordered my usual unsweetened iced tea. I ended up with a usual of a single pancake and roasted potatoes. I'm a huge fan of First Watch's potatoes - I quite literally crave them. I wasn't looking great, but I was treated well. It has been a very long month both working and dealing with my father in hospice. I'm exhausted. Food was great. Service was great. Price was fair. Here's where First Watch really earned their 5-star. On Tuesday night, my father died after a modest hospice journey. Yesterday, I was on my way to begin planning the funeral and to start addressing issues at his home. I was tired. I was stressed. I was, for the first day, without immediate family (my mother and only brother preceded him in death). I needed a healthy meal. I needed connection. I was lingering. One iced tea. two iced teas. "Do you mind if I stay a few more minutes?" Third iced tea. I was encouraged to stay. I finally acknowledged to my server, Ashley, that I was on my way to begin clearing out my father's home and plan his funeral. It could have been awkward. It could have been a momentary "I'm sorry" response. Instead, she sat down at the table. Looked me in the eyes and spent 1-2 minutes being human and kind. It was a brief but deeply appreciated act of compassion. I got the spark I needed and went to handle the business. So, bravo First Watch. How an upscale breakfast restaurant could possibly be out of coffee makes no sense. We went in for a staff luncheon. The food was great. Refills and check backs took some time. I think they were closing up lunch and doing side work. The restaurant is clean and bright. I have to say I was impressed by this place and that's not an easy thing to do. I was greeted and escorted to my table. The server brought some water right away and took my drink order. BTW the coffee here is fabulous and you get a whole can, which is nice for your no-wait refills and warm-ups. I took a minute to peruse this rather large menu with so many delicious options. It was really hard to choose. In the end I decided on an omelet with a side of cheesy grits. Now mind you the omelet already comes with toast and a salad, which you can swap out for potatoes or fruit. So there is a good amount of food. I'll know next time. The omelet was delish, well made with fresh tomatoes and sour cream on top... yumm. The greens were plentiful and the dressing on it a delicate vinaigrette that I really enjoyed. Even the bread, which I was worried I might not like. It just sounded way too healthy to be any good, but I was proven wrong. It was quite good and the jelly was perfect. And the cheesy grits were pretty good also. A little bland, but that's a grits thing anyway. Altogether I have to say that I will be back for sure. We got back from a vacation and needed to get our rental car lightly detailed before dropping it back off, but the detailing didn't open until 8 AM. It was only 7:30, so we decided to stop in at First Watch for some coffee + a hot meal. It was so nice being there that early because there were maybe only 4 other tables eating while we were there, so it was nice and quiet. Our server was very friendly and brought over an entire carafe of coffee so I could keep my cup refilled. The table was already well-stocked with creamers. We both ordered the biscuits and turkey sausage gravy with (over easy) eggs and split a large fruit bowl. The biscuits and gravy were hot, savory, and more than we could have hoped for after driving 18 hours back from Florida lol The fruit bowl was refreshing- the kiwi was a nice touch! Terrible experience. We've been to First Watch multiple times before (and those times it went well) but this time was beyond bad. Our server, Ashley, took our orders and we waited for over 30 minutes. She then proceeds to tell us that they lost our order and they didn't realize. Keep in mind that the restaurant wasn't busy at all. We waited for even longer for the food to arrive (which is unacceptable considering barely anyone was in the restaurant anymore) and we finally got our food. However, they had put the wrong side on one of our dishes, AND they somehow forgot the Belgian waffle and pancake we ordered. (that's three strikes...) They decided to only take off one item from our bill. They said their computer was having problems, but I also noticed that none of the other few people had any problems. The ambiance and food was good at best. This experience also made us late and have to end up cancelling some things that we were supposed to do. First-Watch usually has had excellent service in the past, but was very disappointing today. read more

I'm not one to frequent chains but First Watch does an exceptional job and I appreciate the healthier options that are available. This particular location had slower service than some of the others. It was a busy Saturday morning but it still seemed like orders were taking awhile and they were having a hard time turning tables. In the end, my wrap filled with egg, cheese, Turkey, tomato and spinach hit the spot yet again. As did the kale tonic juice (real deal- no added funny business). We'll probably stick to the W 86th location that's conveniently located a few doors down from Trader Joe's in the future. read more
