If you were to drive through Avon, Indiana you might notice a bit of a doughnut war thing going on with the likes of Carl's Donuts, Pana Donuts, Dunkin, and Parlor Doughnuts all within what is still considered a "town." I'd long been curious about Parlor, however, there's not one near me. I've been spending more time with my father lately as he experiences health issues. As a result, I've been in Hendricks County quite a bit. Parlor Doughnuts is located in a free-standing building in a parking lot adjacent to a strip center. Parlor has both indoor dining and a drive-thru. Parlor is more of a premium-doughnut vendor. Most doughnuts are in the $2.45-$3.45 range. Parlor Doughnuts is an Indiana born chain that was started in February 2019 in Evansville. It has expanded somewhat quickly and is now considered a national chain. This location's interior has a rather nice ambience. The menu consists of their famous layered doughnuts and about 28 different kinds of doughnuts including some keto friendly and vegan/gluten friendly options. They also have dog doughnuts. Parlor also has some breakfast sandwiches, a variety of coffee-themed drinks, some bottled drinks (I got an unsweetened iced tea in a bottle), and a few other options. I ordered two "chocolate chocolate" doughnuts and my bottle of unsweetened iced tea. The employee was friendly throughout the encounter. Service was timely. I spent right about $11. It's definitely not a value experience, however, for a more premium doughnut it's in the ballpark. I've definitely paid much more for much worse. Overall, this was a positive experience. The doughnuts were good (I will admit they somewhat tasted like they'd been out a bit) and the service was strong. While I'm not going to say this is a 5-star experience, I can easily go 4-stars.

Don't normally go out of my way to leave reviews but this place was terrible. It's our first time so we stopped by. There were no doughnuts (literally empty shelves-looked as if people were waiting for orders) so we just ordered coffee. After waiting 20 mins (waited that long because there looked to be other people waiting so we just thought it was taking awhile) we went up to the counter because we never got our name called. I spoke to someone and asked if our drink would be ready soon because we wanted to leave. Turns out the ticket was just sitting there the whole time, she didn't even see it. No apology for the wait, she starts making it and she makes it wrong, (I asked for half and half with no whipped cream) she made it with 2% and whipped cream. My husband tells her it's wrong and she kinda just scoffs and has someone else make it. After over 30 mins we get the drink and it's practically just half and half and caramel. Taste terrible. We left a tip after ordering. Wish we could've known it would've been such terrible service.

I really like the fun donuts that Parlor has to offer! I REALLY like the chorizo breakfast tacos! They are my favorite and I crave them. So convenient that they have a drive thru. I also really enjoy their lattes. Huge parking lot, loads of seating, & overall pretty inside!

Oh My! Delicious and hardy. We had 1/2 dozen delivered. Order was accurate, packaged beautifully. A donut is large enough to share half with a friend. So instead of six, we had twelve pieces. Everyone loved each flavor. When you need a sweet treat, try Parlor Donuts.

La donas deli! Also the biscuit after working a 12 hour shift hit the spot! The ambiance was relaxed and warm and sunny.

We did a pick up order for a dozen. They were done before the time we chose to pick up. While we did not dine inside the facility, it did appear to be clean and well organized. I'm not sure what happened with the other folks that stayed there's no filling in these. When I ate mine, it exploded on my hand with filling. If you've never had a parlor doughnut, you have to try one!

Didn't go for the decor but it is modern & antiquey. The maple donut with bacon was so delicious. Flaky with some crisps, and meltey icing. Will be back! Cant wait ti try more! I got my coworker a gluten free one Service was quick!

Went there today and got all of the savory donut flavors and two sweet ones. Let me tell you, from the service to the food and even to the overall vibe of the place was outstanding! A employee named Ethan did an outstanding job with customer service and did a great job making the donuts! 10/10 must come again.

Visited the new Parlor location on a busy Saturday. They are organized and the line moved quickly. I've been to the 10th St. location and am not sure if having one closer to me is a good thing or not! These are awesome doughnuts and come in a variety of flavors. They also have a variety of breakfast sandwiches, açaí bowls and coffees. Definitely give them a try!

My husband and kids went to the grand opening and being so close to home they were 3rd in line in enough time to get a fresh box before the crowds filled the whole place wrapping out the door. The doughnuts are large and super sweet, full of different flavors, though we couldn't tell too much different on a couple (french toast, sandy beach, churro), but strawberry was the favorite. Being diabetic I also tried the maple and vanilla keto doughnuts, which again are super sweet...almost too sweet to enjoy a whole one. Definitely a more dense cake doughnut, but still decent if you want a sweet. Service was as quick as can be expected on opening day with a few technical glitches, but we recommend downloading the app to order ahead or at least to view the menu before you go.

These donuts (although they really don't resemble the transitional donut as one may know it) are wonderful! They are so big but so light! Delicious different flavors! A donut shop you don't want to miss!!

The soup was creamy and had bits of kale and chicken in it. Almost like a chicken velvet soup (my favorite), but more earthy from the greens. The soup came with croutons, if you wished to add a little crunch to the creaminess. The people behind the counter were super friendly and efficient. The service was absolutely impeccable: attentive without hovering, warm without pretense, and delivered with the sort of genuine hospitality that makes you feel less like a customer and more like an honored guest at an impossibly chic gathering. And then came the drinks. The pistachio latte was a masterpiece of balance and indulgence -- velvety, nutty, and luxuriously smooth, as though a pistachio grove had somehow been distilled into liquid silk. Each sip unfolded like a sonnet. The wildflower latte, meanwhile, was pure poetry in a cup. Delicately floral without being overpowering, it carried an almost ethereal sweetness, like spring itself had been persuaded to dissolve into espresso. It was whimsical, elegant, and astonishingly memorable. The Green Room Cafe has achieved what so many coffee shops aspire to but few truly accomplish: creating not just beverages, but an experience -- one steeped in artistry, comfort, and just the right amount of enchantment. A triumph. Five stars scarcely feels sufficient. While there isn't a large selection of liquors, they have the staples to make most go-to cocktails in addition to their monthly specials (both cocktail and mocktail options). The food is what really stands out and would bring me back. You are able to choose a salad, flatbread or sandwich and their creations are unique and delicious. I had the pesto, peas and goat cheese on flatbread and was pleasantly surprised to find I could order the flatbread as a half order for $9 instead of committing to a whole order. Today, I spent some time clearing out my father's home and helping my nephew, who'd been staying with him prior to his death, settled in a new residential situation. As I was driving through Danville on the way home, I stopped at the town square and decided to have a late lunch in the area. To be honest, I headed first to Square Burger. However, as a wheelchair user I was dismayed to see a step into their establishment. No go. I wasn't in the mood for Mayberry Cafe despite my love for the place. I looked over and realized this was a great chance to check out The Beehive. The Beehive is just off the square and shares a building with Two Guys Pies. The US 36 entrance is not wheelchair friendly, however, the back entrance has a nice concrete ramp (I did find the sidewalk a bit narrow - I noticed as I entered here that had I desired to visit Two Guys Pies there was a bicycle on the sidewalk that would have easily blocked my access). This is an attractive building. The Beehive has been here a little over 10 years. I'm not sure I'll describe The Beehive accurately - it's sort of a coffeehouse meets breakfast/lunch joint where you can also get fresh, local honey and other frozen goods to take out. They do catering and offer deli sandwiches, beer/wine carryout, a build your own salad menu, local meat and produce, and the aforementioned frozen goods. They also have a small retail area where you can buy honey, t-shirts, and other items. A good amount of their sweets utilize honey instead of sugar. I parked on the square in one of their accessible spots (parking is free, up to 5 hours for accessible parking but only two hours for others). I wheeled around the building - someone was planting plants/flowers and was super friendly and stopped his work to make sure I could get through). They close at 4pm on Saturdays - I arrived about 3ish. I ordered one of their combos that included a 1/2 sandwich, chips, and a drink. They do have unsweetened iced tea, fountain drinks, and a variety of canned/bottled drinks (including Choc-ola!). They also have a ton of coffee/latte type options. I found the prices to be reasonable. This is especially true given these are healthier options (though certainly not everything here qualifies as "healthy."). The employees were friendly. They were quiet, however, service was quite good. I loved the atmosphere. I had zero issues finding a wheelchair friendly table. I could independently reach everything I needed, though I'm sure they'd have assisted if needed. This wasn't a mind-blowing experience. It was simply a really good lunch in a pleasing atmosphere at a fair price. After an emotional experience like clearing out my family home (which isn't yet done), this was a great way to relax and calm the emotions. I enjoyed the sandwich, which is toasted, and they had Miss Vickie's potato chips. I'm not sure why it took me so long to stop here, however, I'd easily return for the simple yet wonderful menu, great drinks, warm atmosphere, and friendly employees.

Rise n' Roll was founded in Middlebury, Indiana by an Amish family as an offshoot of the family's selling of donuts from the porch of their Shipshewana home. Established a Rise n' Roll in 2004, it stayed relatively small for years. The original bakery didn't use electricity, refrigeration, or modern tech. Everything was by hand. In 2009, the Amish owner sold the company to a non-Amish family. It was moved to a larger facility - the original owner stayed employed by the company and the small bakery began to expand including franchising. In recent years, the Central Indiana presence has grown. Rise n' Roll offers donuts, pastries, Amish goods, deli, and other items. While I was sad to see Rise n' Roll leave their Broad Ripple spot, truthfully I tend to resonate more with its simpler locations (there's now a smaller shop in Nora). This spot in Avon reminds me of Nora. I believe the Indiana-based chain has 16 locations statewide. I'm a definite fan of the chain and have never had a bad experience at any location in terms of product or people. I primarily stick to donuts when coming here, however, I'll occasionally deviate. While I'd say that Rise n' Roll is decked out a bit nicer than Carl's, I felt a similar vibe here. In a town that has multiple options, it's really important to distinguish yourself and Rise n' Roll does that nicely. The cinnamon caramel donut is perhaps its most widely known and beloved option, however, I'm a fan of chocolate frosted (yeast or cake). Donut offerings can vary between locations. Employees here are friendly. The strip center has accessible parking with appropriate curb cuts. The single glass door was pretty manageable. I get the sense they'd easily help if help was needed, though it's obvious that most folks with disabilities prefer independence. Overall, I'd easily claim Rise n' Roll as one of my Avon favorites. I won't dare rank the five, though a quick read of my reviews would likely make it obvious. For a more natural option in a pleasing, welcoming setting it doesn't get much better than Rise n' Roll.
