Tiger tail and Strawberry Filled with banana

Me and my boyfriend just moved here and we have found the best local donut spot. We will continue coming here. Not pictured was the chocolate frosted with marshmallow filling and it was so good. The service was also fantastic. 15/10 donuts.

This was my second time having Jack's donuts. The flavor is always really good in their donuts. My favorite are their cream filled and the cinnamon twist. My least favorite are the jam filled donuts. The jam taste very processed. They also have tables with umbrellas outside at this location. I thought that was a nice plus.

ETA: During the next trip, we were being helped by a nice young woman. The angry lady came over to the drive thru window specifically to scold us! She said, "You have to come inside for two dozen." She said this was because they were to busy. There was LITERALLY no other customer on premise. Then she said that, for two dozen assorted, they have to walk around too much and that's why we need to go in. The donuts don't move if I walk in the door or pull up in a drive thru. I cannot wrap my head around this. What about people with mobility issues? What about moms with young kids in the car? I don't understand the point of having a drive thru, but with rules about using it. ** They do ask you to come in for hand selected donuts, which is understandable. ** Previous Review: There is an angry lady at this location and she's ALWAYS angry. This is no "caught her on a bad day" situation. This is someone who shouldn't be working in public. My husband and I stop here regularly to buy donuts for our respective offices. For over a year now, we've joked about the mean lady and shared stories, regaling in the ridiculousness of her behavior. Today, I'm heading off to work and get a text from the hubs that the mean lady wouldn't give him the donuts he wanted. She would not give him two dozen assorted, but made him take a full dozen of glazed yeast. A new policy, she said. There were no other customers around. I decided to stop and test this new policy and my co-workers reaped the benefits. It was busy when i arrived, buI received my two dozen assorted donuts without them blinking an eye. They have great donuts, terrible coffee, and a mean lady that earns them a reduction to one star.

I found this donut shop one night after shopping and dinner out. I risked buying donuts for the next day at 8 pm. I figured the donuts would be old and starting to taste stale. I'm not used to finding a donut shop open late at night. As I walked in I noticed all the empty "jewelry" cases and was greeted by the employee and learned that the one remaining case was all they had left. I joked that it was unacceptable but she still had an assortment of a wide variety of donuts. There weren't any of my favorites missing so I was able to fill a box of a dozen and get a bag of holes as well. Ok those of you who can leave a donut store and make it back to work or home without eating one, raise your hand. Yeah I thought so. So my granddaughter and I each tried one on the way home and we were very surprised of the freshness of the donut. They tasted so good I had to "sample" a second one when I got home. You know, just to make sure they were still 'fresh' enough for the kids to eat ;-) If you heat them up for 10-12 seconds in the microwave oven they can taste like they were just made as when they were cooked and these passed that test. Bottom line is I like Jack's for donuts and I will be coming back. Plus I have added them to "My Favorite Plainfield Locations" collection because they are worthy of my repeat business.

I stopped in Jack's for donuts after discovering them tucked away in a shopping center on Stafford Road (east of SR 267) the night before. The shop is located on the east end of the shopping center and so it has a drive-thru available, but I decided to simply park in the abundant lot and walk in passed the outdoor patio. The interior had lots of room for customers to wait in line or grab a small table. The majority of the donuts were in glass cases between the customers and employees so that customers can get a good look at the donuts. They had a decent selection with many having a flavored glaze/icing (chocolate, caramel, or sugar glaze) within the donut category. The donuts, especially the twists and long johns, were large enough they could be shared (but does anyone ever share a donut?) I ended up purchasing a Tiger Tail (glazed two toned twist), a Carmel Apple (filled bismark with icing), and a Chocolate Nut Stick (unfilled, but with chocolate icing and chopped peanuts.) The Tiger Tail was light and very sweet. I couldn't tell any difference in the flavor of the two shades of the twist. The Carmel Apple had filling in each bite, though not a enough to drip out. The Chocolate Nut Stick had good flavor, but the longer the nuts sit on the chocolate, the more moisture they absorb. I didn't eat this one until the following morning and the nuts became chewy. So, for maximum enjoyment, eat it right away. It's good to see a local business (New Castle, IN) be so successful and to continue bringing good quality as it expands. Review #3480

In the last few months we have visited the Avon location any times. Went by this morning and closed. Nothing on the door explaining why. Called Plainfield location and they still open so drove over there. Could have easier gone to multiple Duncan Donuts or a big box grocery. Drove here for excellent large donuts. I don't know when or why Avon closed. Plainfield location had two nice friendly employees who I bet were tired of being asked why Avon closed. Donuts of course very good. This location sure seems smaller than Avon which knocks it down a star. Did have a drive through l Don't let the situation get you down. Have a donut. Taste great. Filling. Friendly employees who all looked about 17. So looking for a mental and physical pick me up this a nice place to hit.

Jack's is a donut staple of the Indianapolis area. No matter what time of day it is, they always have a sweet temptation to satisfy your sweet tooth. I recently discovered their coffee menu... OMG. Jelly donut coffee? Really? Soooo delicious! And a drive thru option in addition to dining in? How much more convenient can donuts and coffee get? They also offer a selection of Jack's Donuts flare so you can represent your commitment to donut fandom. Conveniently located at several places throughout the Indianapolis and surrounding area, you can take a sweet treat break in a judgement-free carb loving zone. Indulge in a variety of bite size donut holes or try a treat as big as your head. They have all the classic flavors and a few fun concoctions of their own like oreo crumbles or peanut butter. YUM!

An update of a wonderful donut shop. So much variety. Friendly employees. Super clean well layer out store. A good parking lot. The quality, variety and value of this business's products is excellent. Still a super place to buy donuts. These are some of the best donuts I have had. Will keep coming back.

The name has "donuts" in it. Need I say more? This new location has an array of donuts to choose from. They also have a drive-thru in case you're not feeling like going in. It was pretty busy when I went in on a Sunday afternoon, but the line moved very quickly, and they handled my order well :) They have some interesting donuts like the cereal roll which is coated in fruity pebbles cereal! Yum! I liked how they had a kids area with a mini table and four chairs and some activities like coloring for the little ones.

Stopped in about 10:30am for a quick treat w the kids and a coffee. Great service and clean store. Plenty of donuts to choose from even after the morning rush! Fresh and delicious. Sue made me a great white mocha latte and was very sweet to my kids! We will return! We love Jacks!

I must admit that despite my reporting on the apparent donut wars in Avon Indiana, with no less…read morethan five different donut shops in the growing town, I'd completely forgotten about the presence of Rise n' Roll Bakery until I happened to be on my way out to Putnam County and happened to look over and see the shop in a relatively small strip center. Rise n' Roll was founded in Middlebury, Indiana by an Amish family as an offshoot of the family's selling of donuts from the porch of their Shipshewana home. Established a Rise n' Roll in 2004, it stayed relatively small for years. The original bakery didn't use electricity, refrigeration, or modern tech. Everything was by hand. In 2009, the Amish owner sold the company to a non-Amish family. It was moved to a larger facility - the original owner stayed employed by the company and the small bakery began to expand including franchising. In recent years, the Central Indiana presence has grown. Rise n' Roll offers donuts, pastries, Amish goods, deli, and other items. While I was sad to see Rise n' Roll leave their Broad Ripple spot, truthfully I tend to resonate more with its simpler locations (there's now a smaller shop in Nora). This spot in Avon reminds me of Nora. I believe the Indiana-based chain has 16 locations statewide. I'm a definite fan of the chain and have never had a bad experience at any location in terms of product or people. I primarily stick to donuts when coming here, however, I'll occasionally deviate. While I'd say that Rise n' Roll is decked out a bit nicer than Carl's, I felt a similar vibe here. In a town that has multiple options, it's really important to distinguish yourself and Rise n' Roll does that nicely. The cinnamon caramel donut is perhaps its most widely known and beloved option, however, I'm a fan of chocolate frosted (yeast or cake). Donut offerings can vary between locations. Employees here are friendly. The strip center has accessible parking with appropriate curb cuts. The single glass door was pretty manageable. I get the sense they'd easily help if help was needed, though it's obvious that most folks with disabilities prefer independence. Overall, I'd easily claim Rise n' Roll as one of my Avon favorites. I won't dare rank the five, though a quick read of my reviews would likely make it obvious. For a more natural option in a pleasing, welcoming setting it doesn't get much better than Rise n' Roll.

I've joked about the donut wars going on in Avon, Indiana as my life has taken me through Hendricks…read moreand Putnam counties quite a bit lately. Avon has at least four donut shops within 1-2 miles of each other - Parlor, Dunkin, Pana, and Carl's. Of these, Carl's is clearly the "local" shop. It has the look and feel of a gathering place. While the others do offer sit-down dining, especially Parlor, Carl's feels like a smalltown donut joint with its simple but pleasant decor, lower pricing, and comfortable but pleasing service. Carl's Donuts & Bakery is a locally owned donut shop (Pana is also locally owned, though a growing chain). Carl's also doubles as a cafe and also serves other breakfast items alongside its donuts. The major plus to this approach for a guy like me is that fountain drinks are available including iced tea. I'm constantly dismayed how hard it is to get iced tea in donut shops. I was dismayed to read Jen F's review noting poor customer service as my experience was quite the opposite with customer service being a key strength. The basics: Carl's is located in what looks like a small office complex with a mix of retail and personal service type businesses. It's toward the back. There's some accessible parking and appropriate curb cuts. There's a double entry with glass doors that were pretty easy to manage. As you enter, a dining area is directly to the front of you and to the right side. To the left is the ordering area - I think I goofed up at entry - you begin toward the back and then exit out the front path. I went in through the front, though there wasn't a line and no one said anything. The employees asked if I was ordering breakfast or donuts. I typically get 2-3 donuts and a drink. I stuck with this plan, however, given the comfy atmosphere opted to dine in. I haven't had much time to rest recently and it was nice to sit down. I felt a little out of place (everyone else was clearly local), though everyone was friendly. I ordered chocolate covered yeast donuts and a fountain unsweetened iced tea. They offer discounts, it seems to military, teachers, and first responders. The donuts had a slightly thicker yeast than some that lean toward fluffy. These were more substantial. The chocolate reminded me of Titus Bakery. The iced tea was great - no clue on brand. I could have stuck with two donuts instead of three and been satisfied. The service was a top feature here for me. They were friendly, helpful, and patient as I figured things out. I watched them easily serve a group of senior males gathering in one corner (pouring coffee, etc.). Carl's does not have a drive-thru. Their Facebook indicates they offer curbside pick-up. In future visits, I'd likely experiment with donuts. This particular chocolate is not a favorite for me. I enjoyed it, but I'd easily experiment. There's no doubt I'd return for the service. At a time when I've recently lost my last family member, it was nice to be in a comfortable, welcoming, and warm environment. It did my spirit good. I would also love to return to enjoy a meal here. Carl's wasn't packed, but it was steady throughout my visit and it's clear that Avon loves its donuts and it loves its smalltown gathering spaces.

There was a line of people waiting patiently to select their donuts when we walked in. There were many cases filled with fresh donuts, fritters, danish, turnovers and more. My glazed donut was a cake donut. It was light with a perfect glaze. The apple fritter was like a coffee cake with lots of apples and a glazed topping. He shared the fritter with our granddaughters. There was plenty to go around. The cafe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have daily meal specials. The lady in line ahead of us said the pork tenderloin is the best in town. Pork tenderloin is only served Monday-Thursday. We'll have to come back. They have about 20 tables for eat-in dining. There is a unisex restroom. They also serve Creme Freeze Smoothies in 5 different flavors from Red Bull, Banana Berry, Dark Hot Chocolate, Strawberry Shortcake and Chocolate Chip Cookie Freeze. The service was fast and friendly and while waiting for my Latte I found out what the delay was at the drive up. Of the 4 cars they served while I was there the staff had to recite most of the flavors to each car before they ordered. This was really delaying the drive thru line but the staff never seemed agitated as they kept repeating when asked what flavors do you have. The crew behind the counter worked well together, too. The couches are comfortable and it is quite enough to get work done if the traffic doesn't bother you. Stop by this reasonably priced coffee shop if you're in the area.

I noticed some coupons displayed in the window and asked if I could have the coupon sheet to use on my return trip. This is not uncommon because they give these to customers to use. He was about to give them to me when another barista stopped him and said that the ones he was handing me were their last sheet. I was a bit confused, since the coupons were clearly displayed in the drive-thru window, and I wondered if more could simply be printed. When I asked, I was told they hadn't received additional sheets yet, so they couldn't give out the last ones.
