Hot Cheeto topping and beef hotdog inside with cheese sauce
    David V.

This place was a great snack and hang out place. I got my cookies and cream mochi donut and a matcha tea with boba. I didn't take a photo of. Whoops I ordered the hot Cheeto and beef hotdog Korean corn dog as well. It was delicious. They make these fresh to order bc you have to customize your topping and your inside. Plus choose a side sauce. The hot Cheeto topping was soo good. I would definitely order it like this again. I've tried the potato outside at a few other places and it's usually bland. Not sure about this places, but I'll give it a shot next time. The staff was soo friendly too. The place is clean and they have plenty of seating to hang out and read or chit chat. My only con: I'm not a fan of the novel drink ware, like lightbulbs or pop top drink cans. It seems too much sometimes. It's just me but I'm a more practical person that would just prefer the regular cup. CD and wait to come back.

Mochinut is a cute little store in Plainfield, I've seen it many times in passing and finally decided to try it out with some friends. There isn't a lot of seating inside however we got there at a good time when it wasn't busy. There is one kiosk where you can order or you can go right to the counter which is what we did. The staff were nice and answered our questions . I cannot remember all the mochi donuts we ordered but we all thought the churros was the best. We also ordered a couple hot dogs which was just ok, I would like to try some different ones next time. I thought this was a good experience and I do plan to go back.

Came here for a Yelp event, stayed to try the Korean corn dogs. They are everything we thought they would be. Definitely try to potato dog, you won't regret it! Mochinut is located in the middle of a busy shopping plaza, and a great place to get a delicious snack or boba drink. They have several milk and fruit teas to choose from, and multiple boba options as well. The staff were friendly and service was prompt.

My daughter & I went today & I tried the strawberry lemonade & she had the milk tea with boba. Man was the strawberry lemonade delicious! I loved it! She enjoyed her milk tea as well. We'll definitely be back! The staff was very nice & answered any questions I had! The atmosphere is casual but very nice. We enjoyed it!

What a cool stop while you shop! Don't miss treating yourself to a delicious bite and sip at this shop. The variety of mochinut is great, and they offer Korean hotdogs too! I didn't get one this time, but I'm all ready for the next trip. A tip.... you get a mochinut for just $1 when you order a hotdog. How cute are these little, fluffy, bites of deliciousness?! Not too sweet. I tried the blueberry mochinut and it was killer! The bite with a fresh Berry had me slayed! I also tried the brown sugar drink, delicious and fun looking.

The first time I tried these donuts was when my son brought me some that hr had bought. The flavors he brought me were different but got me interested. I finally stopped in today and while disappointed they didn't have the one I wanted, I found three other flavors to try. I wanted to get a mochi ball but those are not part of the box. I settled on the Reese's, Pink lemonade and stars and sprinkles. My daughter also got the brown sugar Boba tea. The donuts were soft and delicious. You'll find that the sweetness comes from whatever glaze or sprinkles are on the outside otherwise they would be bland. I enjoyed all the donuts but could have done without the sprinkles. The donuts do fill you up if you eat more than one. The Boba tea was good and flavorful but very sweet but you could dial down the sweetness by adding more milk if you like. Yes, they are more expensive than the donuts you would get at Dunkin or Krispy Kreme but I'm not complaining. BTW, they also have Korean hot dogs but we didn't try any this visit. This is the only place that I know so far that has Korean hot dogs on the west side so I'll be back yo try those.

I was really excited to try this place out! They have a self service tablet on the wall, which is a great alternative to ordering online when you don't feel like talking to anyone. The service was not so great, I would say 2/5 stars on that. One young lady played with her hair as she made drinks and the other on the register just seemed less than thrilled to have to talk to anyone. The donuts and boba were immediately ready. The donuts were thick and tasty. The boba was good too, it just tasted like regular milk tea and not the brown sugar I ordered. It did take about 15 minutes for my hot dog to be ready, which wouldn't be a big deal except 3-4 people that placed orders after me got their hot dogs first. Overall the food is pretty good, which is what saved this review. However, I'm big on customer service so I will be trying other establishments instead.

I'm in between a 3 and a 4 star mostly because the drink wasn't good but the staff was friendly just not talkative which i get. The matcha is only a ehhh. The foam has no taste and neither does the matcha. You have to drink 1/4 of the matcha at a time to really get any flavor in your mouth especially if you like ceremonial grade matcha with no additives. I just tasted sugar. My belly was upset after drinking it. I didn't realize that they switch out donuts like crumbl does cookies so I didn't get to try the matcha one . Being 100% honest, i won't be back.

Here they serve Bubble teas, mochi donuts and Korean rice hot dogs... I am here for the hot dogs since I do not care for the first two items at all. While I love the way the mochi donuts look, I just can't deal with their consistency and the same goes for the drinks. The Korean hot dogs are usually beef hot dogs covered with a sticky rice and the deep fried golden brown, so they will have that crunch on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside... and hot as hell, so be careful with that first bite. While I usually get mine just plain. Beef hot dog with original coating. Instead of the beef hot dog you can also choose cheese and even half hot dog/have cheese is an option for the filling. You can also add something to the coating, which means they would roll the rice coating in either potatoes, crunchy ramen or hot cheetos before they fry it all up. With it comes a sauce of your choosing. I can't remember what all the choices are because I always have mine with yum yum sauce. Can't go wrong with that, it have yumm in the name for a reason. Service is usually very friendly and they are willing to walk you through all the options if you can't remember what you are trying to purchase here. The interior is bright and cutely decorated. Obviously for the younger crowd, as is the music that is playing.

I came across a very cool spot in the Plainfield shops. They make a mix of mochi and donut dough which creates the perfect texture for me. Although they are a bit expensive for one treat, it's a nice splurge once in a while. The girl working the counter was very helpful and provided us with a rundown on what they were and how to order. She also let me know that I could order one plain donut if I wanted. We will definitely be stopping by again!

    Korean corn dog with mozzarella
    Thama P.

I enjoyed the Korean corn dog only cheese and it was divine! Cheese-pull and thin crispy outside what more could you ask for! I'm not the biggest fan of mochi donuts but they certainly had a great selection! There is seating in side and there's always been a few people there when I arrive! So overall I would recommend!

    Hot Cheetoz
    Dipali P.

Came here with a friend for a quick bite and we were NOT disappointed! I like that there is plenty of seating inside. After scanning the menu I decided to try the Hot Cheetoz Korean Hotdog with cheese. The lady behind the counter was very helpful as she recommended the sweet/sour sauce to go with it! Now let's get to the hotdog, crisped to perfection and that cheese pull though! Had the right amount of heat and the sauce balanced it out perfectly! Will definitely be back to try out a donut and boba tea.

Chocolate Kinder, Tiramisu, and Chai Churro! Donuts got a little jostled around on the way home lol
    Elle J.

Fun and cute little place! We've been hearing about this place and decided to give it a try! The lady who helped us was nice and gave me great recommendations on their most popular donuts! We did the 3 count box which was $10...a little pricey for just 3 donuts. We tried the Tiramisu, Chocolate Kinder, and Chai Churro! All three donuts were delicious! The dough is light and airy and each one tasted like the flavor it was supposed to be! Tiramisu was my favorite! Other than it being a little pricey, this is a great place to stop in every once in a while for a sweet treat!

Rise n' Roll was founded in Middlebury, Indiana by an Amish family as an offshoot of the family's selling of donuts from the porch of their Shipshewana home. Established a Rise n' Roll in 2004, it stayed relatively small for years. The original bakery didn't use electricity, refrigeration, or modern tech. Everything was by hand. In 2009, the Amish owner sold the company to a non-Amish family. It was moved to a larger facility - the original owner stayed employed by the company and the small bakery began to expand including franchising. In recent years, the Central Indiana presence has grown. Rise n' Roll offers donuts, pastries, Amish goods, deli, and other items. While I was sad to see Rise n' Roll leave their Broad Ripple spot, truthfully I tend to resonate more with its simpler locations (there's now a smaller shop in Nora). This spot in Avon reminds me of Nora. I believe the Indiana-based chain has 16 locations statewide. I'm a definite fan of the chain and have never had a bad experience at any location in terms of product or people. I primarily stick to donuts when coming here, however, I'll occasionally deviate. While I'd say that Rise n' Roll is decked out a bit nicer than Carl's, I felt a similar vibe here. In a town that has multiple options, it's really important to distinguish yourself and Rise n' Roll does that nicely. The cinnamon caramel donut is perhaps its most widely known and beloved option, however, I'm a fan of chocolate frosted (yeast or cake). Donut offerings can vary between locations. Employees here are friendly. The strip center has accessible parking with appropriate curb cuts. The single glass door was pretty manageable. I get the sense they'd easily help if help was needed, though it's obvious that most folks with disabilities prefer independence. Overall, I'd easily claim Rise n' Roll as one of my Avon favorites. I won't dare rank the five, though a quick read of my reviews would likely make it obvious. For a more natural option in a pleasing, welcoming setting it doesn't get much better than Rise n' Roll.

I've joked about the donut wars going on in Avon, Indiana as my life has taken me through Hendricks…read moreand Putnam counties quite a bit lately. Avon has at least four donut shops within 1-2 miles of each other - Parlor, Dunkin, Pana, and Carl's. Of these, Carl's is clearly the "local" shop. It has the look and feel of a gathering place. While the others do offer sit-down dining, especially Parlor, Carl's feels like a smalltown donut joint with its simple but pleasant decor, lower pricing, and comfortable but pleasing service. Carl's Donuts & Bakery is a locally owned donut shop (Pana is also locally owned, though a growing chain). Carl's also doubles as a cafe and also serves other breakfast items alongside its donuts. The major plus to this approach for a guy like me is that fountain drinks are available including iced tea. I'm constantly dismayed how hard it is to get iced tea in donut shops. I was dismayed to read Jen F's review noting poor customer service as my experience was quite the opposite with customer service being a key strength. The basics: Carl's is located in what looks like a small office complex with a mix of retail and personal service type businesses. It's toward the back. There's some accessible parking and appropriate curb cuts. There's a double entry with glass doors that were pretty easy to manage. As you enter, a dining area is directly to the front of you and to the right side. To the left is the ordering area - I think I goofed up at entry - you begin toward the back and then exit out the front path. I went in through the front, though there wasn't a line and no one said anything. The employees asked if I was ordering breakfast or donuts. I typically get 2-3 donuts and a drink. I stuck with this plan, however, given the comfy atmosphere opted to dine in. I haven't had much time to rest recently and it was nice to sit down. I felt a little out of place (everyone else was clearly local), though everyone was friendly. I ordered chocolate covered yeast donuts and a fountain unsweetened iced tea. They offer discounts, it seems to military, teachers, and first responders. The donuts had a slightly thicker yeast than some that lean toward fluffy. These were more substantial. The chocolate reminded me of Titus Bakery. The iced tea was great - no clue on brand. I could have stuck with two donuts instead of three and been satisfied. The service was a top feature here for me. They were friendly, helpful, and patient as I figured things out. I watched them easily serve a group of senior males gathering in one corner (pouring coffee, etc.). Carl's does not have a drive-thru. Their Facebook indicates they offer curbside pick-up. In future visits, I'd likely experiment with donuts. This particular chocolate is not a favorite for me. I enjoyed it, but I'd easily experiment. There's no doubt I'd return for the service. At a time when I've recently lost my last family member, it was nice to be in a comfortable, welcoming, and warm environment. It did my spirit good. I would also love to return to enjoy a meal here. Carl's wasn't packed, but it was steady throughout my visit and it's clear that Avon loves its donuts and it loves its smalltown gathering spaces.
