I ordered tea at Cabin Coffee. "How you gonna get tea at a place with coffee in the name?" said my subconscious. But I was in need of the comfort that a nice cuppa provides. They offer about half a dozen different varieties of Rishi Tea, and I chose Earl Grey, because I love that bergamot flavor. But I've had Chamomile Medley before, and it is also great and very comforting. I thought I would just leave with a tea, but then I saw that they offer soup. Only one soup -- the soup of the day, which changes and happened to be parmesan kale on the day that I visited. Sold! What's more comforting than hot tea and a warm bowl of soup? The soup was creamy and had bits of kale and chicken in it. Almost like a chicken velvet soup (my favorite), but more earthy from the greens. The soup came with croutons, if you wished to add a little crunch to the creaminess. The people behind the counter were super friendly and efficient. They have to be, because Cabin Coffee also has a drive-thru, so they're helping customers from every angle. The inside of the cafe really does look like a cabin. There's also a little nook for kids with a mini table and chairs. There's also a semi-private meeting room, which I saw was reserved for a Bible study group. The place was hoppin' when I visited, which was nice to see. Cabin Coffee seems to be an important spot in the community. read more

Such a cute cafe. There's plenty of parking, there's a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. I love the wooden "cabin" feel and wooden furnishings. The service was great, you order at the counter and they bring it out to you. There were a lot of staff working which made things run smoothly. There is also a drive thru. We got the mocha coffee which was yummy, just the right amount of sweetness and we split a warmed chocolate muffin which was so good, again the right amount of sweetness for me. What a cute spot! I am normally not this far west but Mi Amor had a meeting here so I was able to indulge and grab myself a coffee while I was there. Now the place on the outside looks just like a cute little cabin and the inside was equally cozy complete with a friendly greeting as soon as you come in. After surveying the menu I settled on an iced white coffee with white chocolate inside and it was delicious! My only complaint is I should've had them hold some of the milk or maybe I should've put in more coffee but either way if I'm waaaaay out west like that again......I'll stop in. read more

Ordered the white coffee palomino style. This was my first time having this type of coffee. I ordered it via the drive thru. I was the only one in line but I saw people coming and going inside. The cashier even told me I could try it first before driving off making sure I liked it. It was def different. It had a nuttier flavor. It didn't taste like coffee. I would have liked a different flavor but there's only two ways that they recommend the white coffee. I assume that's because other flavors make it not so great. The white coffee is said to have way more caffeine in it than regular espresso. I had two shots of white coffee in my drink. I always try to stop in at Cabin Coffee when I'm in the area. I love the cozy cabin decor, the friendly staff, delicious bakery, breakfast options plus lunch is served all day. Great location to get some work done as well. I usually grab a hot or iced Chai Latte and occasionally a cinnamon roll. The Texas Turtle Hot Chocolate is also delicious with the additional dark chocolate and carmel. Nice variety of coffee's, teas and expressos with 3 sizes to select from. A dog friendly patio is located in the front of the building with a water bowl and lease holder. I especially enjoy visiting small businesses with my well behaved dog. read more

We are frequent customers at Cabin Coffee in Avon and now Plainfield. They are both great places to stop in for coffee. Lately our busy weekend schedules have us out and about. This has often called for a little caffeine pick me up AND healthy snack. Cabin Coffee has BOTH. I'm working my way through the entire coffee menu (plus chai), so I can't choose a favorite yet. But I can definitely recommend a quick snack - check out the photo! Cabin Coffee has regular sandwiches and these cute "mini" versions. Cabin Coffee in Avon has a nice ambiance and a cozy atmosphere if you want a place to sit and hang out. Their drink selection is solid, but the prices feel high for what you actually get. The bigger issue is the food, which has been consistently disappointing in my experience. I've ordered multiple items that were either cold or just lacked substance. One time, I ordered the BBQ chicken mac and cheese, and while the noodles were warm, the chicken was cold. Another time, I paid nearly $10 for a BLT that was very small and came with one piece of lettuce, one slice of tomato, and what looked like a single strip of bacon cut in half. That pretty much sums up the pattern here: overpriced drinks, overpriced food, and food quality that ranges from mediocre to poor. Unless there's a specific drink you really love, I can't recommend it. read more

Nice chill place to get some coffee when I had some time to kill on the way Indianapolis from Terre Haute. I was looking for a place where I could sit and chill without getting hassled about buying stuff and Cabin Coffee was perfect. They are a coffee shop that in addition to fairly standard pastry items also serves other breakfast and lunch items (sandwiches, wraps, etc). Service was fine (I didn't have an overly complicated order). The place was clean and decorated like a cabin you would find in a ski town. There's a cowboy influence to some of the decor (eg one table had saddles as the thing u sit on) and there were signs on the walls with h sayings ive seen in diners. The decor was working for me. The vibe was chill. Had no issues sitting and relaxing inside for a couple of hours. There's a room opposite the counter with multiple tables, outlets, etc. so I did computer work. Two other people came in while I was there and did the same, and a party of 4 took a table and played cards. No issues from the staff. So good coffee, chill vibe, good service. Became well worth the extra miles out of my way before my performance at Wellbrooke, beautiful place with neat outdoor seating, I noticed the cozy vibes on other photos and knew this was the new place to try. There's a warmth and inviting fresh breath of air the second walking in. I was stuck for a bit browsing all the confusing options which some, never seen before for coffee, were limited to specific times, very odd. Why limit the best stuff? Restaurants doing daily time limits will always push me away but thankfully the menu is massive here to tickle taste buds on sandwiches, breakfast, and many drinks. I went for the basic autumn pumpkin Latte with almond. For a plastic pump syrup the price seemed quite hefty, again not a fan of mass produced flavored diabetes but, also again the balanced espresso drip, made for easy sipping and a quality work mode. I'd not consider repeating pricy java with many better options like Blue Mind, Gaia, and Rabble however Cabin won me over with beyond amazing customer service and their enjoyable staff. I can see why there was nonstop elderly types trotting in for big reunions of six and four sized groups to mingle. I went here to use a gift card and even after using it once I'd bought a muffin also then my total was still much more than expected...Had the pumpkin cream cheese muffin, which is good although very crumbly consistency. Had the Mocha as suggested, but it had more caffeine than I had originally understood it to contain. Love the music choice as I sat to get some quiet time and catch my breath! Overall, the food is OK, but not really.. They're the only business that I've ever known to send biscuits and gravy with the gravy already on the biscuits and not on the side for delivery. All that does is turn into mush. As a southern gal, the gravy needs work, I'm happy to provide a recipe or come out and show you how to do it First piece of advice: you don't add the sausage after you've made the gravy. Cabin coffee is very appropriately named. Not only do they have western decor and the full cabin experience, the menu items have that western flair as well. My brother and I both had versions of the Palomino drink which is made with white coffee. I've never even heard of white coffee before, but it's actually regular coffee beans roasted halfway. It had a super nutty flavor. It was delicious. In addition to a variety of drink options, they have plenty of breakfast and lunch food items. I grabbed a huge cinnamon roll to eat later. It was packed on a Saturday around 12ish. There were some folks picking up to-go orders. They have a drive-thru as well. This is a great alternative to chain coffee shops. read more

I've been here twice and it was a nice experience each time. I love the fireplace and places to sit. I got a half lb of coffee ($13) and a small iced palomino ($7) (the straw was ridiculously long that it was hard to put the straw into the cup, I spilled everywhere so pre puncture their lids as they are sturdy plastic). I would like to try other drinks but it's very expensive to do on a normal basis. I liked looking at the online menu as it had pictures of the drinks and that helped in my decisions. Bagels are okay. Not great, but I'm a bagel snob and there are no great bagels in the area. Lacked a lot of the "everything" topping and flavor in general. More of a bread then a bagel, no crispy exterior and chewy interior. My bagel sandwich wasn't toasted, which would have really amped up the flavor. Egg was nice. Bacon was smokey. I'd passed by Avon, Indiana's Cabin Coffee a handful of times but always seem to notice it right as I'm passing and it becomes too late to give it a try. Yesterday, I was specifically watching for it as I was needing a caffeine fix on my way to my mother's funeral in nearby Putnam County. Cabin Coffee is a locally owned franchisee of a national, six-state coffee chain with two locations in Indiana (the other, and first, being in Goshen). This location is owned by Jordan and Stephanie Yant and opened up in 2019. They were veterans of Chick-fil-A who grew into leadership, eventually married themselves, and had visions of opening their own business some day when they stumbled upon Cabin Coffee and fell for its culture. If you've ever driven by Cabin Coffee, it's located in a free-standing cabin-like structure on U.S. 36 in Avon. It's actually a fairly crowded little corner, though there's ample parking including accessible parking. They also offer a drive-thru. While they are primarily a coffee company, they also have a fairly extensive menu of breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, bakery-type goods, mini-sandwiches, and even a small kids menu. Cabin Coffee offers hot coffee drinks, an espresso bar, iced drinks (coffee, tea, blended), and they also have catering and delivery options. It had to be difficult opening up and rather quickly stumbling into a pandemic, but Cabin Coffee seems to have endeared itself to the community and the community seems to have continued supporting it quite nicely. While the prices are a bit elevated, they're in the ballpark for coffee joints and for the most part lower than your neighborhood Starbucks. The drive-thru worked rather quickly but you never felt rushed. The employee working the drive-thru yesterday was super friendly and even mentioned their rewards club and got me signed up without missing a beat and without holding up the line much at all. It was super smooth. I ordered a large iced tea and a cinnamon roll. At first, I flinched when the cinnamon roll was like $4.15, but this is a huge cinnamon roll and beautifully made. I ate it in my car and had to be careful because it was frosted so generously and I wanted to stay looking decent for the funeral. I would easily order both items again. I enjoyed this quick visit - both products I ordered with high quality and delicious and energized me as I faced one of the roughest days of my life. More than that, the kindness of the drive-thru employee was a friendly face when I needed one. While I can't say that I frequent Avon, I do go back semi-regularly and will make it a point of stopping at Cabin Coffee Company again. And again. read more

This is a fun little chain, however since it is the only one in this area the experience was a little more unique. The decor is very cozy and just like a cabin! I brought my laptop to do some work and found it to be very comfortable. They were playing Christian music, which I loved. Such a needed addition to this area! The overall theme and decor is not my thing but they can still put out some awesome coffee. Their menu can be a little overwhelming with all the choices but the staff is more than willing to help you with a decision or wait while you decide. Last time I went we were greeted by the owners who were very energetic about their new business venture. I overheard their conversations with a few customers. They were suggesting different drinks, talking about how they grind the beans, and went over different types of beans they sell. He told one customer that if he wants to try something new and doesn't like it, he can make him something else. Business was booming even on a Tuesday afternoon. Their drink sizes are pretty standard but I find it hard to spend over $5 for a small iced specialty coffee. I'd like to try the iced mocha or turtle drinks but it's a little pricey for what you get. I like to go for an latte or cold brew instead. There is a meeting room that you can schedule for free, just note that they will ask for those groups who schedule the room to tell their members to purchase food and drinks (duh). They even had a board outside the room with the list of meetings for the day so you can sit in there when a meeting is not taking place. Other pros are that there's a drive thru and plenty of parking spaces. We also enjoyed checking out the cute and funny T-shirt's they have for sale. I will be back soon! read more

Opening day of this new coffee franchise (from Iowa) saw long lines in both the drive thru and walk up counter. The line was constant from 6 a.m. to when I got there around 10:30. Yet everyone, staff and customers, seemed in a good mood. The line moved along and allowed plenty of time to see the menu of beverages, pastries, and sandwiches, both breakfast and lunch. While waiting, one of the staff asked customers if they wanted to be part of the rewards program offered. I noticed there was a small dining room and another beyond that. Since both were full I decided to get my order to go. I placed my order for a short medium roast black coffee, a mixed berry biscuit, a #1 breakfast sandwich with egg, sausage, and cheese, and a #5 Cabin Club turkey & ham on marbled rye. After paying and giving my name, I took my drip coffee and waited with those ahead of me who were also getting food and/or a special beverage. I must say I really liked the breakfast sandwich that was served on a plain bagel. Nice flavor without needing any seasoning. The mixed berry biscuit was just a bit dry on the outside, but when eaten with the tasty fruit in the middle, was also quite good. The Cabin Club had a thick layer of folded sliced ham and turkey along with tomato and lettuce on marbled rye. Nice flavor but since it didn't have any condiments, it seemed a bit dry. I don't recall seeing packets while there but it would have been nice to be asked if I wanted any condiments or directed to them by the staff. Fortunately, I had them at home and made the sandwich taste better. Note: Though the meats were layered thick in the middle, they were not layered evenly across the entirety of the bread. And the coffee? Served so hot that I couldn't hold my cup even with the insulator. I waited at least 5 minutes before trying to sip it and still burned my tongue. Eventually, it cooled enough to drink. It had a slightly burned taste that kept it from being a satisfying brew. Overall, the food was enjoyable and reasonably priced. I would encourage them to reduce the coffee temperature after roasting it so that folks who drink the coffee straight can enjoy it without waiting a long time to determine if it is burned or not.
