There are a few gluten free options. On average, your plates can be anywhere from about $2-$5. I had about 8 plates and my total was $46.38 with tip. Not bad, but service was lacking. They were also using strong chemicals to clean/wipe down some stuff and maybe it's just where I was sitting which was nearby, but the smell was super strong and kinda ruined my appetite. Food was good for the price but honestly didn't feel like I had the best service.

For Arizona this is futuristic and wish we had one in Tucson. I don't eat seafood but the wagyu plate was tasty and I was able to order ramen that came with pork and an egg. For what it is, it was a pretty good visit. We really were pleasantly surprised by the quality. The variety was great. Rice was prepared right -- not mushy or stale. The fish was great which was the biggest surprise of the whole meal. The salmon was fresh and buttery. The scallops were plump. Tuna did not taste cheap or old like previous visits. I did try some of their limited time menu items -- their fish taco and the crispy rice hot dog. The cod in the fish taco was way too soft and disintegrated in my mouth, I would like a firmer fish.. the tartar sauce was great though. The crispy rice hot dog was interesting... the sausage was nice a plump -- juicy but the rice did not make sense. The rice was also a little sweet and did not taste right.. ** please bring back the crispy rice salmon and spicy tuna instead of this. We did not enjoy our last 2-3 visits to Kura. Service was always bad, food did not taste good and it was becoming overpriced for what it is. We would happily come back now and spend what we did again if the quality stays the way it is. Service this time around was still not great, even worse than usual actually, but we still enjoyed otherwise. Kura used to allow you to win prizes at 5-7 plates but now it's every 15, 25+ plates which sucks but I get it..

I like that they use purple rice for all the sushi here, it's healthy and also adds a bit to the flavor. Fish is fresh and portion sizes are generous - I mean that in a way that the rolls and sushi fill you up quite quickly without the rolls being too large in size. The balance between fish and rice is a solid ratio, although I'll say that everything started to taste quiet similar after a while and I couldn't really differentiate between the different rolls. Anyways, overall a solid sushi spot in Scottsdale, AZ. Mt Fuji Roll- Love that they top with raw scallop! Yellowtail Carpaccio - Fresh and vibrant, jalapeno adds a nice kick Havana Roll - The mango brings brightness to the roll 5 Nigiri & Crazy Roll - Value combo, the bluefin tuna quality is good

Upon arrival, the place doesn't look like anything special. It's inside a strip mall, and looks mediocre. However, do not judge too soon. Once you get inside, everything is well laid out & it's very nice. It was busy when we went in on a Friday night, BUT we got seated quicker than estimated- which is always a win! I was not happy with where we were seated, as it was facing the wall in the small bar area. We are people watchers by nature, so it's always fun to be in a spot where we can look around the room effortlessly. However, it wasn't the end of the world and I certainly didn't want to wait any longer, the food looked wonderful & I was starving! I do not remember exactly which rolls we got, but... all of them were EXCELLENT!! Everything was undoubtedly fresh, and made with quality ingredients. I thought the black rice was really neat! I've never seen that before. The waitstaff were very friendly and accommodating. It took no time at all to get our orders out, which was impressive considering that the place was packed near capacity! As we left, all of the sushi pros behind the glass thanked us for coming in and wished us a great rest of our evening. I thought that was very kind. It's not very often that you find a whole line of people stopping what they are doing to wish you well on your way out of their establishment. All in all, 10/10 experience! I would recommend this place to anyone who loves Sushi!

The restaurant was very clean and wasn't too loud at the time. It's the type of restaurant where you can grab your food off of the conveyor belt or you can order with the staff. As a note, not everything on the menu is offered on the conveyor belt. Since it wasn't too busy when we went, a lot of the options were available on the belt, only a few dishes were empty. I would say the staff weren't as attentive as they could be, which made ordering off the menu more difficult. I didn't get the chance to order everything I wanted-- I like having a plate or two in front of me at a time, and the waiter didn't come often enough. I tried items like the edamame, the Shaggy Dog roll, the onion roll, haru popper roll. I really enjoyed each plate I tried, everything seemed fresh and high quality. The pricing is decently inline with other revolving sushi restaurants, but a little more expensive per plate. I think it's worth it considering Yen Sushi has more options to order from, if you can grab or order them. Overall, I enjoyed my experience dining here, and would come back again because the food I tried was very tasty. Next time, I'll plan which items I want to order with the waiter ahead of time, so I can I can try everything that I want and order with the server when seated.

But, if looking for value, Kiku is a good choice. Note: 1) Ika (my personal favorite) is listed both on their website before you come in and even on their printed menu once you are seated in the restaurant, but be aware they do not have any and 2) be extra careful when communicating your order as the waitstaff will make assumptions on your behalf. For example, I asked if they have salmon roe to which the waitstaff said "yes", but when they brought my order to our table they had substituted salmon nigiri in its place offering no explanation nor telling me what to expect, just leaving me to discover it after taking the plastic cover off the plate.

I know there are mixed reviews about the sushi, and unfortunately my experience leaned toward the negative. The sushi did not seem fresh and was sitting at room temperature. You could tell some of the rolls, especially ones with sauce, had likely gone around the belt multiple times since the sauce had started to soak into them. That said, the flavors were actually good and the fish itself did not taste bad. I have been to other rotating sushi spots where items circle more than once but still taste fresh, so this stood out to me. The restaurant itself seemed clean and I did not have any issues there. I just wish the freshness matched the flavor.

We asked about the fish of the day and special fish which happened to be the same, mackerel, the day we went. Interestingly, the servers had no idea about the fish aspects of the menu and everything was deferred to the sushi chefs. Ordered a few temaki (hand rolls) - yellowtail and spicy tuna- and they were tasty! All the nigiri we ordered were fresh without fishiness, and had generous portions for the price. Nice to have fresh wasabi which had a nice kick and sweetness. Thoroughly enjoyed these nigiri: seared black cod, ocean trout, hamachi/yellowtail, unagi. Yuzu & rainbow rolls had super appetizing sauces. Ordered the uni from Japan which was supposed to be sweeter than creamier but this one was very distasteful for me, had a strong scent like saliva, and I was unable to tolerate it.
