I had to ask many times for different things from the chef due to the food not being good. I should have not ate it and just said something at the time but the waiter was in a bad mood and the chef wasn't the friendliest. The workers seemed tired and wanting to be there to do the job. I'd rather stay silent because I know how it can be working at a restaurant that has been busy. Our service... the waiter wasn't patient and had an attitude from the very beginning. I looked over at my friends and we kind of went silent. The performance at the hibachi lacked. I know the chef was probably worn out but our reservation was at 5 pm. Not late at all. We were super let down because the restaurant itself was beautiful but so many bad things happened. The only thing I liked from the restaurant was the happy hour they had a few nice drinks. That's it. The place is not accessible. there are places you have to step up, watch wear you step, it has a lot of declines and inclines. Not a lot of accessible parking. There have been some places I've gone to that have horrible quality meat which end up having to toss out pieces due to being unchewable. Only thing was the CA roll pieces were really thin, almost like it was a typical 1 piece slice into half to count at "two." Also ordered deep fried gyoza for the kids, which they loved. The fish was fresh and I love the use of purple rice in the rolls. I was pleasantly full from the good food and portions. I would definitely go here again.

The service is ok, nothing to write home about. Didn't check back with us after we pointed out the problem with the clumpy noodles. I have a gluten sensitivity, and yes - I can't have wheat, or regular soy sauce. No problem, I know that, am am careful when eating out. What is less well known is that the fake crab mix tends to use wheat as a binding agent to keep all of the little fake crab meats mushed together, and that makes for a really gross (and frankly extremely unpleasant) aftermath once I've ingested said allergen. All this is to say, most sushi restaurants specify "krab mix" or "krab" or something like that to indicate that it's the cheaper version. Great! This restaurant uses the word "crabstick" - I also understand what that means. Fake crab without a GF notification - got it! I will pass on that. What I don't understand that while THEY DO SELL REAL SNOW CRAB, there's a little TWIST, my friend! Sorry to say - the SNOW CRAB HAND ROLLS ARE A LIE! I called them, and they even admitted this all to me over the phone. Because said handrolls made with *fake* snow crab, you see. You know, the kind that uses wheat as a binding agent? The kind that would send me unwittingly to the porcelain throne in extreme discomfort and misery for several hours? How could you have known that they were lying to you, I hear you ask. That's the genius move on their part! You couldn't possibly have known that until it had already been paid for and delivered! As we approached the table, we noticed that it still had plates and bowls leftover from the previous customer. The busser quickly removed them and wiped the table down for us to take a seat. We decided to order some edamame to start, which was okay. It wasn't super fresh, but overall it was decent. For our main course, we ordered the kaizen and the hafu sushi. We ordered the Obon ramen to split. Not long after ordering our food came out. The server was really attentive and placed our ramen in two separate bowls for us. As far as flavor goes, the Obon was extremely spicy. I'm a spicy girlie and I couldn't even eat it. I ate the noodles, but the broth was too much for me. I passed it on to my husband and to my surprise, he actually ate it (he doesn't like spice). I think his sore throat trumped the spice. The kaizen roll was really good. We actually loved that.
