I like that they use purple rice for all the sushi here, it's healthy and also adds a bit to the flavor. Fish is fresh and portion sizes are generous - I mean that in a way that the rolls and sushi fill you up quite quickly without the rolls being too large in size. The balance between fish and rice is a solid ratio, although I'll say that everything started to taste quiet similar after a while and I couldn't really differentiate between the different rolls. Anyways, overall a solid sushi spot in Scottsdale, AZ. Mt Fuji Roll- Love that they top with raw scallop! Yellowtail Carpaccio - Fresh and vibrant, jalapeno adds a nice kick Havana Roll - The mango brings brightness to the roll 5 Nigiri & Crazy Roll - Value combo, the bluefin tuna quality is good

Upon arrival, the place doesn't look like anything special. It's inside a strip mall, and looks mediocre. However, do not judge too soon. Once you get inside, everything is well laid out & it's very nice. It was busy when we went in on a Friday night, BUT we got seated quicker than estimated- which is always a win! I was not happy with where we were seated, as it was facing the wall in the small bar area. We are people watchers by nature, so it's always fun to be in a spot where we can look around the room effortlessly. However, it wasn't the end of the world and I certainly didn't want to wait any longer, the food looked wonderful & I was starving! I do not remember exactly which rolls we got, but... all of them were EXCELLENT!! Everything was undoubtedly fresh, and made with quality ingredients. I thought the black rice was really neat! I've never seen that before. The waitstaff were very friendly and accommodating. It took no time at all to get our orders out, which was impressive considering that the place was packed near capacity! As we left, all of the sushi pros behind the glass thanked us for coming in and wished us a great rest of our evening. I thought that was very kind. It's not very often that you find a whole line of people stopping what they are doing to wish you well on your way out of their establishment. All in all, 10/10 experience! I would recommend this place to anyone who loves Sushi!

We also ordered a bowl of edamame, just enough crunchy salty goodness. Sit at the sushi bar and ask every question you have. Try new things based on the chef's recommendation and your palate. Very unappearing from the outside, but the interior is very sleek and modern. It feels very intimate even though there is plenty of seating. Our group decided on getting the somakase. It was a great option as you can explain your budget, allergies, preferences and your waitress/waiter will create a custom tasting for you. Everything was very delicious. Our waitress may have misheard since a beef dish was brought out and one of us did not eat beef but it was fine. We ordered the fried milk afterwards and we appreciate that she brought out extra fried milk balls for us! They were very tasty. Afterwards, she brought out a complimentary dessert (coconut tapioca) that was so refreshing. I would honestly say this dessert was better than the fried milk. All the dishes felt fresh and flavorful. My favorites were the pumpkin tempura, Hama chili, and one of the mushroom dishes (my bad I forgot!)

We had the akami te and hama chili for the first course. I am cilantro adverse so I requested the micro cilantro greens to be taken off the akami te which was an easy adjustment. Note that the sauce on the bottom does have some cilantro mixed in but I didn't notice a strong cilantro flavor with that and it tasted good with the rest of the dish. The hama chili was also really delicious with just the right amount of spice. Our second courses were the crispy rice with added wagyu beef and walu walu. I enjoyed both as they were delicious and visually appealing. We had some sorbet and also tried the

I was coming south on North Scottsdale road and turned in to a driveway right before the "Bei" sign on the building and ended up in an awkward narrow back alley behind the restaurant. The restaurant is in a strip mall with several other businesses and there is a common parking lot for all of them. I came here with my 5 year old son. He saw the pictures of the restaurant on reviews before we went and asked about the robot. We inquired when we were there and the robot can bring you your food upon request. I liked that they have lunch specials. The food was all very good. I ordered a matcha drink as well, which had a really good cold foam on top. The service was great. The servers were very nice and helpful. Ambiance - meh. It looks like a fast casual restaurant that has been around for a while.

We were a party of 12 visiting on vacation, and none of us are from the area. We ordered spam musubi and a chicken skewer as appetizers. Both appetizers arrived well after our entrees had already been served and we had essentially finished eating. Each time we asked about them, we were repeatedly told, "They're coming." Mind you, these are simple appetizers that should not take anywhere near that long to prepare. When we asked for the third time, we finally asked that the appetizers be cancelled since we had already finished our meal. At that point, the gentleman working the front area , tall, with red hair, loudly yelled from across the restaurant, in an extremely rude and confrontational tone, "It's already on the grill!" There was absolutely no reason to speak to paying customers that way. His response was unprofessional, unnecessary, and honestly created a very hostile and uncomfortable feeling during what should have been an enjoyable dinner, especially while our group was on vacation and simply trying to enjoy a meal together. When the appetizers eventually came out, we left them sitting there because we were already done eating and ended up taking them to go. He eventually told us they would be removed from the bill, which we appreciated, but that did not excuse the way the situation was handled. Again, the food was good, but good food does not make up for poor service and especially not for an employee speaking to customers in an aggressive and disrespectful manner. Management should seriously address how customers are treated, because the interaction with this particular employee overshadowed what could have otherwise been a good dining experience for our party of 12.

The place was buzzing with loud electronic music and tons of people dining -- I think because the ceiling is so high the noise is amplified. Because it was so busy it took a while for the server to come over but he did with waters which was nice but then the menus are all on QR codes -- which is annoying because it is hard to look at everything and because the menu is very confusing it would have been nice to see everything on paper. The menu is confusing because the selections are very odd -- I thought it was a mexican-asian/sushi fusion restaurant -- which I guess it is but it was still really hard to create the best food experience when I couldn't see everything available. My friend was hungry so she immediately put in an order for calamari and I was being called to order the blood orange margarita slushie. When the margarita came it was like nothing I have ever seen before. It looked more like a milkshake or like a creamsicle. I dove in thinking it would be too sweet but it was actually quite delicious and I sucked it back in a second! Also I put in an order for the edamame which sounded really good in the description -- "woodfired" and spicy miso butter -- but when they came they were really spicy and the woodfired element was making me cough, strangely enough -- I couldn't finish them! Finally after waiting forever we got the drinks and apps. It then took another 15 minutes to order our food. Again it was busy and my friend and I were catching up so it wasn't a big deal. We wanted a fairly light dinner so we just ordered one roll -- the Fuego, which had yellowtail and a whitefish, chili, cilantro and cucumber plus a pico de gallo on top -- it was very flavorful -- although a bit spicy for those who are spice wimps like me. Overall, thought it was a good meal but wasn't blown away.
