Picked up lunch after a round of golf for the fam on the way back to the hotel. We're on a little vacation from SF and have to say this place was a pleasant surprise. Ended up placing a pretty big order and for the quality of food I'd have to say it was great value. Ended I ended up getting a beef bulgogi bento which came with 2 pieces of gyoza and California roll. Beef bulgogi had great flavor and good quality meat. There have been some places I've gone to that have horrible quality meat which end up having to toss out pieces due to being unchewable. Only thing was the CA roll pieces were really thin, almost like it was a typical 1 piece slice into half to count at "two." Also ordered deep fried gyoza for the kids, which they loved. We also got a beef udon which was good. Wifey ended up ordering a dragon roll which was good as well. Also got a couple bowls, salmon and beef bulgogi, which everyone also enjoyed. Overall a great little place when you need something quick to pick up. Variety of menu was great because it had a little something for everyone in the fam when you're wanting a mix of Korean and Japanese food. Either way it's been a long time since we came here last, as there had been a drop off in quality since our early visits. Some things have changed, like prices and some stayed the same, like the clunky order tablet. Sushi: Rolls used to be mostly under $10, but still a pretty good option @ $12 for most. The quality is on par with Whole Foods, which actually charges a bit more. Spicy Tuna @ $10.99 though doesnt make sense. Bulgogi: Our son's go to order, chicken was chewy and he just gave up after a few bites. Wings: They completely bungled this item. First of all the wings are miniscule for $12. Then you dont actually get any wings, we had all drums. Ordered Buffalo Spicy, came with sauce on the side? So I am supposed to dunk these? That's nuts! All pieces had more breading than actual chicken and one drum was so small, probably off a pigeon(joke). I brought three home and you can see the size relative to a Tic Tac box(one of the larger ones) Overall: They expanded the overall dining space by adding an outdoor area since we came here last. This place used to be packed and wait times were off the charts for the small crew of 3. Unfortunately on this Sat night, there were a few take out orders and we were the only ones dining in. This little restaurant at the end of a big strip mall is simply a gem! The food is always freshly prepared, which is key for sushi dishes and the staff are always friendly. I didn't see the usual owner nor any of her employees. So I go to order saying the entire order name. He replies Bop and then nothing. So I repeated my order and he says the same thing. What?? Gosh, my feelings on this place are just as strong as 5 years ago! To simply put it: I adore this place, their customer service, and their food. This place may not be a fancy or bougie sushi place but their food is REALLY good! Casual atmosphere, order at the counter type situation. We got the bulkogi roll, the dragon roll, and the fried chicken wings. What was the most surprising was how ridiculously good the chicken wings were! They were crispy and so juicy! This is a Really great casual Korean restaurant, hidden away in my local strip mall near the movie theater and is about 5 minutes from my house which is a great bonus. I dropped in here out of curiosity. To see what all the hype was about and was quite shocked with the results. Great Korean food with really friendly staff and clean professionally run and convenient atmosphere. I had the beef Bulgogi and glass noodle dish. It was delicious, the beef melts in your mouth and their perfect mix of savory and salty flavors that make it so appetizing. It's a large plate of food so bring your appetite... I certainly will be returning to this place again and again. They do have sushi and some really great looking noodle dishes on the menu which I have not tried yet but that's just another excuse to return again. read more

We left a huge full bowl of ramen at the table and not one service person there seemed to care or ask is there was a problem with our meal. I wanted to get our money back- Yes...it was That Bad. But even the rolls I did get with eel, shrimp and imitation crab meat was meh. I would never come here again. If you want noodles there are a ton of noodle restaurants in the valley. This is an order at the counter place. It has a few options but I was a little surprised that the chefs were not Asian... For a little mom and pop place, I thought at least one would be... The meat was fine but it did taste like they used a lot of sesame oil.. the japchae had good flavor... The California rolls were okay... No pickled ginger or wasabi and honestly they tasted a little dry... Not freshly made. They also give you portions with the expectation the rice will fill you up. It was a little warm towards the door but I think that had to do with it being open and shut a lot. The kimchi was actually quite good. Wherever they get their kimchi... They should continue. I had glass noodles and they were gooey undercooked and stuck together Zero protein in my bento platter. How do they justify charging $16 for a platter with white rice a scoop of cold, slimy potato salad, glass noodles that were horrible, 2 tiny sweet California roll pieces wrapped in dry rice and two cold hard as rocks premade Pot stickers. This was completely undigestible, and I only ate it because I was hungry and we were in a hurry. Dirty tables, we had to wash one to sit down. Why do they expect a tip when we have to stand up and order on a filthy screen that other people have touched and nobody has ever washed? You can feel the filth. Bop & Roll was our daughter's choice for Saturday night Take-Out and we believe she chose well. Clearly one of the benefits of having a multicultural household. She's always on the lookout for good Asian-fusion places and with Bop & Roll, she hit a home run. Bop & Roll is a small mom and pop place, within a hundred feet of Harkins Cine Capri. In normal times, I remembered them to be quite busy, but thanks to COVID, it was empty tonight. The menu has lots of fast food Korean dishes, that most would recognize immediately. They prepare their food both spicy and mild, but we found their spicy wasn't too bad. The key is ordering off-menu. What a surprise, right? So go to their website instead of the delivery App when ordering or you'll miss their delicious Kpop Bulgogi Burrito (photo). It was simply outstanding, and a must. Another tasty treat was their Bulgogi & Dumpling Ramen (photo), and the potato croquettes. But as we've found with most Korean places, Bulgogi or Bibimbap anything, is usually outstanding and Bop & Roll is no exception. You should expect to pay around $15 each, as we did tonight. Enjoy.
