    Seafood chow fun

It had been a long absence since visiting Nee House. We had run a few errands and wanted to order something to go. After reviewing the menu, we chose chicken with vegetables, no onions. Staff are not the friendliest but as long as they get the order correct and the food is decent, no problem. She took my order and told me 5 minutes for the order. They kept their word about a fast order. The inside of the place is clean. Tables are set and waiting for customers. It was a good amount of take out with a separate container of white rice. The food was still warm. I added tofu to the dish. The food is somewhat bland and nothing a bit of Sriracha and soy sauce wouldn't help. The chicken is very tender white meat. Lot of good veggies; carrots, water chestnuts, cabbage, snow peas & broccoli. Tasty with the added spices. Decent prices. There was plenty for two and we will have more tomorrow. Shared parking lot,

I ordered the Vietnamese egg rolls, house fried rice, and a Weight Watchers-friendly chicken and shrimp with vegetables, and everything was delicious. I've been here many times and the food is always good, but this was actually my first time dining in instead of getting takeout. The restaurant itself is decent and comfortable inside, service was good, and the food definitely lived up to what I'm used to. I'll probably continue to get it to go most of the time, but it was nice dining in. Good food, consistent quality, and definitely a place I'll keep coming back to!

One of the better Cantonese-style Chinese restaurants in Arizona! Parking was pretty easy since it has a big parking lot shared with Smart & Finals and several other businesses Service was pretty friendly and attentive. It was pretty small inside so there wasn't much seating Pricing was reasonable ($15-20+/dishes) Got the Fried Pork with Salt Pepper ($15.49) It was very delicious, not too greasy or too salty. Very flavorful and not too overly fried. Pretty big portion. This was 4/5 House Fried Rice ($13.99) was nothing special.. pretty bland and not much ingredients. Wish it was more flavorful and has more meat or seafood in it. Wouldn't recommend. This was 2/5 Shaking Fillet Mignon Brochette ($17.99) was very yummy. Very tender and not too salty. Wish there were more pieces since it was on the pricier side. This was 4/5 Would recommend and return

Haven't dined here since the original owners opened the doors and wanted to come back for years. While it is now under new management, I wanted to see if they were still as good as when they opened and if it was still a great place to eat at when on this side of town. My friends and I came for dinner and we ordered several dishes: Braised green beans, Salt & Pepper Pork chops, Orange chicken and Kowloon crab. Everything was good, cooked right and tasted ok. The Kowloon crab was a little different that I am familiar with, but still work the trek. The waitress and staff were friendly and attentive. I would definitely come back and try other items from their menu.

Wow this place is gooooood. The crab was so fresh and the stir fry xo sauce was flaaaavor! Poor it over steam rice perfect pairing. The crab shell was soft and they even crack the shell making it super easy to eat. My kid loved the fried rice. Salt and pepper pork chop was my next favorite, it was full of flavor as well and has a nice crispy crunch to it. Honey walnut shrimp was also spectacular. Sweet, crispy fried with flavorful sweet savory sauce. Definitely would recommend to eat here. To top it off, the service was so friendly and attentive. We all agreed we'd come back to eat, when visiting Phoenix again in the future.

Dinnerware cleaned. No grain, no morsel, left behind. Finger licking good.

I love coming to Nee house. Food tonight and every time I come here is delicious. Food comes out fast and hot. Service is quick and friendly. Food is affordable and a reasonable portion. Tonight, I had the bean curd Szechwan style with a cup of rice. It was so tasty and flavorful. It hit the right spot and was so so comforting. This dish is not too spicy but I love super spicy so I might not be the best judge. It might be hard to tell from the photo but the tofu isn't fried, it's soft. Just in case you were wondering. Hope y'all have the chance to try it.

Been awhile so we went back to eat here again. Still awesome! Great food, friendly staff, perfect ambience. Serene and peaceful. I had the broccoli shrimp and my brother had the Chicken Chow Fun. Both were excellent! We'll definitely come back to eat here.

    Pecking Duck

Coming from the LA/OC area, this place was great! Needed some asian food while visiting Phoenix so I went and tried Nee House. Classic family owned asian restaurant with delicious food! The pecking duck was definitely my #1 favorite! The ambience is very casual as it gets packed during lunch with families. Service is most definitely a classic fast pace type service. They give the menu, your order water/drinks/food, food comes out. So don't expect too much fluff in the service! The food itself is really good and portions are enough for sharing! This makes it great for big parties or families. They do seem to have a smaller staff circle. I did see that people would have to wait until one of the servers finished serving a table to then go and seat the next party. So be prepared for a wait if the servers are serving tables! Overall, this place was an amazing find in Arizona! Amazing food trades for a fast less quality service is definitely an okay trade for me. This is an amazing classic Chinese restaurant!

Nee House Chinese Restaurant Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Nee House Chinese Restaurant

We went a couple days ago and the door was pad locked. Does anyone know if they will reopen?

They're closed for a month on vacation, they usually do this once a year.

What fish is the fish fillet with ginger & green onion?

I don't know which fish, but I have ordered it dozens of times (we have been going to Nee House for years), and it is a delicious dish! Large portion of tender fish fillets, not breaded, lots of ginger and a lovely clean sauce. I highly recommend…

When are you opening for dine in?

There are currently open for dine in.

Does Nee House have Egg Foo Young on their menu?

No, they do not. Funny because I was just there last week and that's exactly what I was looking for. I was disappointed, both with the fact they didn't have egg foo young and with the food in general.

They have complimentary parking in the front, side, and back of the restaurant. There aren't a ton of spots, but there's street parking close by too. Ambiance (3.5/5): Like most Chinese restaurants, China Chili is pretty no frills. Which isn't a problem for me at all, I'm there for the food. It's a spacious restaurant with both regular tables and circular tables that rotates (good for large groups sharing dishes). Service (4/5): Fantastic service is also not something I expect at a Chinese restaurant. Yet again, I'm there for the food. With that being said, service, while not overly friendly, is typically pretty efficient. Which I always appreciate. Drinks (4/5): Pretty much your standard soft drinks, tea, and a limited selection of alcoholic beverages. My favorite option is their buddha beer which you don't see in a lot of places. It's a lager and it's in a buddha-shaped bottle. It doesn't get much better than that. Food (5/5): The first time I came was for one of my favorite dishes... Peking duck. There aren't a ton of spots in Phoenix that have it, but out of the ones that do, China Chili serves it at a high level. You can go with either crepes or baos (additional surcharge). The duck is absolutely to die for. Flavorful, juicy meat with crispy skin that fits in perfectly into your mini "sandwich" with green onions and Hoisin sauce. For a reasonable price too. Their food outside of duck is of a similar quality. I especially like their flat noodles with beef. Even classic dishes like sesame chicken have a twist here. It's sliced chicken rather than fully breaded chicken. Just as good as the typical way, the sauce is delicious. My only complaint? They give you a pretty small helping of white rice with your dish. Outside of that, the portions are generous. Everything I've had at China Chili has been a hit. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Everything was flavorful and satisfying without being overly heavy. Service matched the easygoing vibe--friendly, attentive staff kept things moving smoothly in a relaxed, unpretentious dining room that feels comfortable and inviting. It's probably the fanciest Chinese restaurant I've been to in AZ. The lunch menu is excellent and quite impressive! There are 8 entrees to choose along with a side for only $20. What's crazy is that a full size seafood and wagyu beef belly jjampong is a side! They're regularly $24 so it's a crazy deal to get an additional entree!! We ordered seafood jjampong and wagyu beef jjampong as sides and genghis khan beef and chili garlic fried chicken as mains. The jjampong had that great umami taste without the oiliness that's unavoidable at other restaurants. The ingredients felt very premium and fresh. Ghengis khan beef pieces were very generous and tender with a savory sauce. Chili garlic chicken was a tad salty for me but had great crisp. Service was impeccable and one you'd expect from an upscale restaurant. I can't wait to go back to try other dishes from the lunch menu. We also ordered beer and a whisky drink so we weren't cheap. The food was pretty good. The ticket time on my entree was about 10 minutes but the other two at our table didn't get their food for almost half an hour. No consistency. I may try this place again much earlier in the night.

Gotta support local when you can I say! The menu is pretty basic and has all your typical options for Americanized Chinese food. Wanting to get something that had noodles in it, I opted for the combination #1 which has chow mein crispy noodles, pork fried rice, and two tempura shrimp. Quite a lot of food and for a very reasonable price! I think the combo was around $10. If you are a fan of bean sprouts, this is your place. The chow mein had a massive pile of beansprouts on top. The noodles were indeed crispy but they was such a meager portion compared to the beansprouts. The fried rice was pretty basic but also a generous portion and the two tempura shrimp had a nice crispy batter. I tried some of the eggroll too which is one of the most unique versions I've had since the super crispy outer layer was either a different preparation or different wrap material than I'm used to. The interior was made primarily of beansprouts too. Service was good. Our food was prepared fairly quickly.

The fact that the restaurant was very close to our Airbnb, and did not require a reservation also felt like a sign to make the visit. The spot is definitely trendy, and parking was tricky. Uber/Lyft would be my recommendation, but there is a paid parking garage down a couple of streets. We didn't need a reservation since we had a small party, but I would recommend if if you're coming with a party of four or more. We sat at the bar and ordered four dishes from different categories, which was a great way to sample the menu; though honestly I think we probably could have gotten away with just 3 dishes for a party of 2. We tried Yam Mamuang Boran (old-style green mango salad), Boo Pad Pong Garee (crab curry with ginger), Tom Yum Haeng Sen Yai (dry tom yum with wide noodles), and Naem Khao Tot (crispy rice salad with fermented pork sausage). The noodles and salad were definitely my favorite though everything was seasoned really well and incredibly flavorful. What I loved most was how thoughtfully prepared everything felt. The restaurant has a really sincere, home-style feel, and you can tell the food is rooted in tradition while still feeling special and elevated. It was the perfect final meal for our trip, and I'd definitely come back again.

The biggest disappointment was the Arai Kodai menu option, where the kitchen selects the dishes for you. Unfortunately, the selections felt pretty average. We were served Tom Kha Gai (a creamy coconut soup), Kaeng Phet Charindia (a red curry), Papaya Salad, and Scallop Crudo. While everything was well-executed, none of the dishes felt particularly unique or showcased why Lom Wong has such a great reputation. Honestly, it's the kind of meal I could find at a good neighborhood Thai restaurant. The other downside was the pacing. Being to Thailand many many times, this is nothing we have experienced. We had barely received our drinks and taken a single sip, when immediately every dish hit the table all at once. Instead of feeling like a curated dining experience, it felt rushed and a bit stressful trying to juggle multiple dishes plus our drink: Karaoke king (which would have been good if I had a second to enjoy it) Overall, it was still a nice meal and great atmosphere on par with other Thai restaurants. My advice: skip the chef's selection and order à la carte. Just be prepared for the food to come out quickly and all at once.
