Only to find out the bartender was in front of the bar talking to 2 other guys . Saw us, thought may be if she didn't acknowledge us we'd go. The buser says "ask that girl" so we do. She said the bar downstairs is open. We told her we came from there and it's too loud. Are you open and can we be seated here, she Goes behind the bar, starts making a drink, we're now 6-7 minutes in standing with no resolution. My friend goes and asks the bar tender again can we be seated and she says ( and I'm paraphrasing because I was fuming I forgot the exact words but something along the lines of "I'll help you when I'm done with this, or when I'm available") I simply just wanted to leave. Friend insisted we stay and clear it with her. She seats us and 2 minutes later comes and introduces herself as if nothing happened. My friend says we wanna make sure kitchen is open. She confirms. Then my friend says "we started off bad here and the way you responded earlier that "your help us when you're available" is not a way to welcome a patron, as we both worked in the industry and still have friends in the industry. When she comes back to take food order she can barely speak, she said her mouth was dry or something, and she had the hiccups ... that's when we knew she must have been drinking and we interrupted her little chat with friends at the bar. I was worried the chops were going to be too large but the portion size was spot on to my liking. The roasted garlic thyme jus it's served with is rich, savory, and a great compliment to the tender and juicy chop. I would order this again and again. Sides: Parmesan Truffle Fries and Smoked Gouda Tater Tots - It's hard to mess up a potato but somehow Ocean Prime was able to make it even more delicious. The fries had a perfect balance of crisp and tender, and the parmesan truffle flavor was the cherry on top. Wonderful aftertaste and surprisingly pairs well with crab legs. The tots had a perfect crisp exterior and a fluffy inside. The offerings are generous so 1 side would suffice for 2 people. Every bite was scrumptious and a definite recommend for the table. Cocktails: My wife also had the Berries & Bubbles cocktail. Well, it was so yummy that she had 2 of them. I had a sip and although I'm not a vodka fan, I can attest that it was indeed yummy. The dry ice is a nice touch and adds to the beauty and appeal of this drink. The drink is poured at the table (Hannah is clearly a pro at it). It was like a dinner and a show! Dessert: We were offered to choose a dessert on-the-house to celebrate my birthday. We ordered the Warm Butter Cake for the table and a Chocolate Torte to go. There are also discounts on wine and select cocktails. Food (4/5): I went big on my last visit. There are a good number of appetizers on their happy hour and I started with two: the jumbo shrimp cocktail and the High Street roll. The shrimp cocktail is served with some dry ice which makes for an awesome visual aspect to the dish. Four large shrimp, chilled, in a bed of cocktail sauce. You can't really mess this one up. The High Street roll has tempura shrimp, cream cheese, scallions, and beef carpaccio. A+ for creativity. From there, I had the 8 ounce Piedmontese steak which was a first. It's an expensive steak, similar to wagyu in terms of quality. It's a matter of preference. Piedmontese is a lean, high-protein steak which wagyu is ultra-rich and buttery. Not certain I liked the plastic cups and mini wooden ladle, but the flavors were there. Lobster bisque was a bit thick for my taste, but my better half thought it was great. Flavor was rich and satisfying. Last, the lobster and shrimp roll was too deconstructed. The lobster was dumped on top of an uncut croissant. You couldn't really eat it like a roll unless you scraped off the meat, picked up the damp croissant, cut it and then restuffed the lobster and shrimp inside. Too dang much work. While the flavor was good, this is not something I would order again unless they were willing to split in in the kitchen and turn it into a proper lobster and shrimp roll. If you've been there before you know that guests stood in line in front of the refrigerated counter showcasing their fresh seafood selections and placed your order at the end of the counter - if you had guests, if you were like me, I firmly advised them to know what they wanted when we hit the order counter. This evening was entirely different; I arrived before my wife and was greeted by a host from a stand halfway between the front door and the refrigerated case. Tiffany greeted me and asked how many in my party and said she would seat me. I asked, don't we order at the counter? She said, no, tonight is the first night we are trying full table service. What a great change! Chelsea was our server, we ordered drinks and had time to look at the menu. Far more relaxing! Arriving just before 5 pm, we enjoyed happy hour prices for our beverages, and I ordered fresh northwest coast oysters as an appetizer at $1 less per oyster during happy hour. They were fantastic, tasting of the briny pacific ocean, plump and properly served with mignonette. The servers and assistants were all attentive and each advised that table service was new, so they were testing it. Our dinners were well prepared and delicious, I had one of the best salmon filets I've been served, grilled to perfection and served with my request for lemon butter only. When presented the check, I asked about inputting my phone number as a regular we've been earning points. The server was able to input my number at the table and we received a discount on top of it.
