Before I say anything specific, lemme tell you... the food, the service, everything was FANTASTIC! Waitress: Shire Party of 3 This amazing restaurant was a fantastic way for my family and I to end our most recent trip to Scottsdale Arizona. We came here based on a suggestion from someone who works at the resort that we were staying at. I cannot tell you how perfect this experience was. The recommendation was probably hands-down the best one they could've given us. B&R had something for all of us to enjoy. I was a bit concerned that my young-ish kiddo would not find something on the menu that would be appealing. I spoke to one of the hostesses at the front of the restaurant about my concern. That is when she let me know that there was a separate kids menu, but also that, essentially anything that we needed, they were pretty confident that the kitchen could figure out. Crazy, but even at as nice and as pricey, a restaurant as this, children's menu, meal items were only about $10-$12 each. I was shocked. Even more impressed, I found items like California rolls and smaller portion steak on the kids menu. Awesome!!! The ambience of the restaurant was perfect. It was dimly lit, but not dark. It was romantic, but somehow still dressy casual if you will. The entrance is beautiful and shows off their patio. I had the most delicious ribeye while my husband had fresh, raw oysters, as well as another entrée that I really didn't pay attention to because I was so engrossed in my own meal. Oopsies. LOL! My kiddo loved their California roll. It also came with a small side of strawberries. That was perfect. We ended up also ordering the small portion of steak for them. An entire morning at the aquarium, followed by an afternoon full of swimming, we had all worked up quite an appetite. They offered us a doggy bag, but once they realize that there were no leftovers on the table, we all had a good laugh, but looked at each other sideways when someone asked us if we were interested in dessert. There was no way. We were all so stuffed and we were so content. I don't quite know how we managed, but we waddled to our car and made our way back to the resort. The entire time, we talked about how fabulous our server was and how fabulous her suggestions were. We also talked about how phenomenal our food was and just how wonderful and experienced the whole night had been at Buck & Rider. My kiddo tried their first raw oyster here. I thought that was pretty amazing. I knew it must've been good since they asked for another shortly after. This is definitely a restaurant that I will suggest to people if ever they ask me for a good dining experience recommendation in Arizona. Dinner was a tad pricey, but considering we were on vacation and we were celebrating our being together as a family and having had such an amazing time in Arizona, it was worth every penny and then some. Our server was so awesome. She had a short chat with my kiddo. She showed us some of her tattoos on her arm. It was just a really nice time. It was easy for us to build rapport with our server. That was another thing that made the dining experience even more fun. Geez, I wish this restaurant were closer to home. Would I come here again? You don't even need to ask. I'll meet you there. Party of how many? Let's go. Yes, now!

First time here. We sat at the bar and I really enjoyed it here. The service was great! Quick, friendly. Loved the open view of the kitchen. Absolutely loved our shrimp appetizer, sushi and ceviche. Fresh and delicious. Our drinks were perfect. Love this restaurant, service ran like a Swiss clock. Perfectly.

Great experience. Went for our Anniversary. Loved the food. Awesome Florida stone crabs and great oysters. Our server was awesome. Always there for us. Great vibe with a nice finish to the night with our name up on the board. The Manager came over to congratulate us and left us some nice cookies to take home. Highly recommend.

The beau and I stopped here after arriving in town late and wanted something good. Everything was really good. It took us about 10 minutes to get a table at 8pm. The place was packed. The food was so fast and all of it was delicious. The fresh seafood was amazing. By the time we ordered they were out of a few things we wanted. Some of the seats are backless chairs/stools which are not that comfortable. The interior is pretty loud and kind of cramped.

Having been to multiple locations of Buck & Rider including the Mayo location more than once, I can confidently say that they have a lot of good stuff to offer - and some food is pretty exceptional. I especially like the risotto with shrimp, raw seafood tower, catch of the day, and hamachi crudo. I think some items are a little bland and underwhelming for my palate and I wish they would push the flavors a little more - thinking of the tuna crispy rice, ceviche, and sushi. I was also a little disappointed in the calamari today. It was begging for salt. That said, this is some of the best seafood in the valley! And anything raw cannot be missed. This location is quite large inside and the outdoor patio is nice and shaded with umbrellas. They also have a huge parking lot which is super convenient. I think the staff always do a great service and I love that they do not rush you here so you can really sit back and enjoy. Overall, I'd never turn down an invite to Buck & Rider.

This was our first time there. We had an issue that we told our server, Haley. I didn't think she was going to tell her manager, but the manager, Mike, came over and said he would make it right. Haley made our evening special, very amiable, easy to converse with and knowledgeable. Nigiri hit the spot to start the main course. The bread was light and fluffy, the crab cakes were great because there were no fillers. The mussels were tasty and were huge. So if you want a restaurant that stands by their standards and food. This venue is the place you'll want to eat at.

While in town for a quick visit we decided to pop in for a bite. Had a chance to grab a table in the patio, and the weather was perfect! There was a slight chill in the air, but underneath the heat lamps it was extremely pleasant. We were greeted by our server, Chloe, who told us about the fresh catches of the day and made sure that drinks were flowing throughout the entire evening for the crew. Everything that we had from the appetizers to the variety of dishes were all excellent. One of the appetizers, the crunchy tuna, was so good that one of my colleagues decided to order it as part of their main dish. Only slight drawback is the fact that that desserts did not sound too appetizing but that's just because they weren't my cup of tea. Banana cream pie, lemon, meringue, pie, and chocolate cake. All sound extremely decadent, but just not my pallet. No harm no foul. The food was solid, prices fair and service was good. 9/10 would go back!

Buck & Rider consistently delivers some of the best seafood you can find in the desert, and at a fair price. Everything is fresh, well‑prepared, and always delicious. Great vibes and has a neighborhood feel with kind service. The Tuna Crispy Rice is a standout every visit, the Brussels sprouts are excellent, and the voodoo fried rice is packed with flavor. The crab cakes remain my favorite--loaded with crab, not filler, and perfectly cooked. Be sure to save room for dessert. The banana cream, lemon meringue, and chocolate cake were all exceptional. A consistently great experience, both in food and service. I've been both for business and with friends.

We have been back for happy hour several more times. Service is always great here. The only thing to note this time is we were seated at the sushi bar, which makes it hard for a family of four to share food. They were nice enough to move us to a table once it opened up, but we noticed they had seated parties of 2 at the tables for 4.. not sure why. I'm really disappointed that they no longer have the green juice drink. Our server recommended the Playa de Pina, which was surprisingly good. I usually can't do mescal because of the strong flavor, but it is not very strong in this drink. We enjoyed our usual happy hour dishes- the oysters (so worth it for the HH price!), shrimp ceviche, voodoo fried rice, fried chicken, hibachi and salmon roll. Everything is good. This time we ordered the red fish from the regular menu and it was delicious! We will definitely try other fish options next time. We ordered dessert and the banana cream pie is excellent.

I don't give Five Star reviews out lightly, but in this case, I think there's enough that's special even though it's a chain but come on great happy hour and if you have a special event, then make you feel special. The food was very fresh even for the middle of Arizona and anything that you'd like customized from the menu they did a great job of especially with our kids in tow

Where things really took a turn was the food. I was so hoping I found a new staple in our walkable restaurants list but the food was mostly disappointing. We liked our fairly standard French onion soup and Caesar salad. The shrimp cocktail were not good at all. Shrimp was tough and mealy. They marinate them with a bunch of herbs. Maybe that caused the unpleasant texture? On top of that, I did not like the herbs used in the marinade. Good shrimp cocktail stands on its own! I should also add that these were $7/each. A week later I had the most amazing shrimp cocktail - tender and sweet and almost double the size for $4/each. I don't mind paying $7. I've paid $13 each for good shrimp cocktail. Just a lot of money to spend on something so disappointing. Our sea bass was also tough. Flavor was okay. The piece was fairly thin - possibly why it was overcooked? For those who love sea bass, I suggest checking it out at SumoMaya or Dominick's. Can't be beat! Sadly, I don't think we'll be back. Too many other excellent options nearby.

The service was top tier. I wish customer service like this existed everywhere. Hannah was outstanding. She was welcoming, attentive, and helped make our night even more enjoyable. She didn't linger but somehow always knew when to check back on us as soon as we needed something. We're always weary of trying out a new restaurant for the first time but dinner was spectacular. Everything we ordered was so delicious and cooked to delectable perfection. High compliments to the chef! Appetizer: Warm Bread Basket - A must have! The bread was so scrumptious that it doesn't even need the delicious whipped butter. But the butter was so amazing it was hard not to smother every morsel of bread with it. Fantastic appetizer option. Entrees: 1/2lb Dutch Harbor King Crab Legs - Served with perfectly cooked asparagus, potatoes, and the usual side of melted butter. My wife said the butter that the crab is cooked in/served with was so phenomenal that she didn't have the need to dip into the side butter. I chose this restaurant because my wife loves crab legs and these absolutely delivered. The meat was sweet and succulent, and most importantly, they tasted fresh! Filet Mignon (8oz) - Delicious and perfectly seasoned! Exactly cooked how my wife ordered it and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Willow Bend Lamb - I can't rave enough about how exquisite this was. I was worried the chops were going to be too large but the portion size was spot on to my liking. The roasted garlic thyme jus it's served with is rich, savory, and a great compliment to the tender and juicy chop. I would order this again and again. Sides: Parmesan Truffle Fries and Smoked Gouda Tater Tots - It's hard to mess up a potato but somehow Ocean Prime was able to make it even more delicious. The fries had a perfect balance of crisp and tender, and the parmesan truffle flavor was the cherry on top. Wonderful aftertaste and surprisingly pairs well with crab legs. The tots had a perfect crisp exterior and a fluffy inside. The offerings are generous so 1 side would suffice for 2 people. Every bite was scrumptious and a definite recommend for the table. Cocktails: My wife also had the Berries & Bubbles cocktail. Well, it was so yummy that she had 2 of them. I had a sip and although I'm not a vodka fan, I can attest that it was indeed yummy. The dry ice is a nice touch and adds to the beauty and appeal of this drink. The drink is poured at the table (Hannah is clearly a pro at it). It was like a dinner and a show! Dessert: We were offered to choose a dessert on-the-house to celebrate my birthday. We ordered the Warm Butter Cake for the table and a Chocolate Torte to go. Hannah was kind enough to comp both of them for us! The Warm Butter Cake was AMAZING! From the delicious ice cream served on top to the gooey buttery velvety center of the cake with a perfectly crisped edge, it was everything you'd want in a dessert and more. I'm sure it's the star of the dessert menu. I've yet to make it to the torte but I've no doubt I'll be swimming in chocolatey goodness when I do. Lastly, I had flowers delivered to the restaurant to surprise my wife, and I asked if they would please have them set at the table prior to our arrival. They were able to receive the delivery before opening time and were placed perfectly in the middle of our table (booth seating). I'm so grateful for how they accommodated my request and helped me execute a wonderful surprise that gained a beautiful smile from my wife. 10/10 experience. Five stars all across the board. We asked if the fireplace could be turned off, and were told it was "just the pilot light" and that the heat was from outside air coming through. That explanation didn't really make sense, especially if it's an electric fireplace, and it left us wondering why the flue was open in the first place. Our server initially seemed a little annoyed when we brought it up, though he became friendlier as the evening went on. As for the food and drinks: the Gold Margarita tasted a bit cheap for the price. Once it arrived in the taller glass, it was clear the ratio leaned heavily toward mixer and sweetness rather than tequila, gran marnier, and fresh lime juice. It definitely didn't taste like fresh lime as advertised. On the other hand, my husband's espresso martini was absolutely fantastic. The standout dish was the filet special - rubbed in mustard and marinated for over 24 hours. It was excellent. The mashed potatoes were packed with flavor, and the jambalaya rice was tasty as well, though slightly cold. Dessert was an apple pie with the crust wrapped entirely around it, which we enjoyed. The beef was delicious and savory. I couldn't finish it all and had leftovers. I would definitely go back and try many other dishes. Highly recommend!

I would love to go for happy hour and apps, the environment is very lively with outdoor seating when the weather is nice! We started with the Trio of Dips, the whipped ricotta was delicious and the sourdough loaf was amazing and still warm. Great way to start your meal! The Portuguese Stew was our favorite dish, the white fish was cooked perfectly and the sauce paired perfect with the vegetables and fish. I ate it together with the rice, Calabrian chili, and herbs that came with it. The short rib agnolotti was another great dish that melted in your mouth and had a great cambozola cheese that added a lot of flavor. Great visit, look forward to going back!

Lobster Bisque was great ...cognac (cream) was listed in the ingredients, which always makes a better bisque. The vegetables in the Charred Vegetable Plate were so tasty and the broccolini was amazing. The Chilean Sea Bass was good, as was the cauliflower-potato mash. The Beef Tenderloin Skewers were just okay; the presentation was a bit stark and the beef a bit grisly (almost impossible for tenderloin). Overall, a nice outdoor experience so we will likely return.
