My wife and I celebrated my birthday with dinner here and we had an absolute wonderful experience. It was our first time dining here but it definitely will not be our last. The service was top tier. I wish customer service like this existed everywhere. Hannah was outstanding. She was welcoming, attentive, and helped make our night even more enjoyable. She didn't linger but somehow always knew when to check back on us as soon as we needed something. We're always weary of trying out a new restaurant for the first time but dinner was spectacular. Everything we ordered was so delicious and cooked to delectable perfection. High compliments to the chef! Appetizer: Warm Bread Basket - A must have! The bread was so scrumptious that it doesn't even need the delicious whipped butter. But the butter was so amazing it was hard not to smother every morsel of bread with it. Fantastic appetizer option. Entrees: 1/2lb Dutch Harbor King Crab Legs - Served with perfectly cooked asparagus, potatoes, and the usual side of melted butter. My wife said the butter that the crab is cooked in/served with was so phenomenal that she didn't have the need to dip into the side butter. I chose this restaurant because my wife loves crab legs and these absolutely delivered. The meat was sweet and succulent, and most importantly, they tasted fresh! Filet Mignon (8oz) - Delicious and perfectly seasoned! Exactly cooked how my wife ordered it and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Willow Bend Lamb - I can't rave enough about how exquisite this was. I was worried the chops were going to be too large but the portion size was spot on to my liking. The roasted garlic thyme jus it's served with is rich, savory, and a great compliment to the tender and juicy chop. I would order this again and again. Sides: Parmesan Truffle Fries and Smoked Gouda Tater Tots - It's hard to mess up a potato but somehow Ocean Prime was able to make it even more delicious. The fries had a perfect balance of crisp and tender, and the parmesan truffle flavor was the cherry on top. Wonderful aftertaste and surprisingly pairs well with crab legs. The tots had a perfect crisp exterior and a fluffy inside. The offerings are generous so 1 side would suffice for 2 people. Every bite was scrumptious and a definite recommend for the table. Cocktails: My wife also had the Berries & Bubbles cocktail. Well, it was so yummy that she had 2 of them. I had a sip and although I'm not a vodka fan, I can attest that it was indeed yummy. The dry ice is a nice touch and adds to the beauty and appeal of this drink. The drink is poured at the table (Hannah is clearly a pro at it). It was like a dinner and a show! Dessert: We were offered to choose a dessert on-the-house to celebrate my birthday. We ordered the Warm Butter Cake for the table and a Chocolate Torte to go. Hannah was kind enough to comp both of them for us! The Warm Butter Cake was AMAZING! From the delicious ice cream served on top to the gooey buttery velvety center of the cake with a perfectly crisped edge, it was everything you'd want in a dessert and more. I'm sure it's the star of the dessert menu. I've yet to make it to the torte but I've no doubt I'll be swimming in chocolatey goodness when I do. Lastly, I had flowers delivered to the restaurant to surprise my wife, and I asked if they would please have them set at the table prior to our arrival. They were able to receive the delivery before opening time and were placed perfectly in the middle of our table (booth seating). I'm so grateful for how they accommodated my request and helped me execute a wonderful surprise that gained a beautiful smile from my wife. 10/10 experience. Five stars all across the board. This cost me $70.82 (this is after the InKind discount and includes tax and tip). I'm finding that most chefs at fine dining restaurants would recommend that the steaks be cooked medium rare. the food itself was fairly tasty. The service was very polite. This is my favorite seafood place in all of Phoenix. Their salmon is #1 in phx. The salmon has just the perfect amount of a sweet glaze on top of a beautiful bed of sticky rice. It's always cooked too perfection. I also had the calamari here. It's crispy and delicious as well. The goat cheese appetizer is mouthwatering and thesalad with the candied walnuts and goat Cheese is also perfectly paired. Staff is incredible Parking can be a little bit tricky usually I have to park in the garage down the street, but that is the only downside which is not their fault. Last year, we went to their sister restaurant in DC for his birthday, and thoroughly enjoyed it, so when we discovered there was one here in the valley, we were over the moon! For appetizers we had lobster bisque and a crab cake. My lobster bisque was outstanding. My hubby enjoyed his crab cake...that's really saying something because he's from DC, so he knows crab cakes! I had the twin lobster tails and jalapeño au gratin potatoes and the hubby had the lamb chops with Asparagus with hollandaise sauce! All of these were phenomenal! And for dessert we were given the warm butter cake and the 10 layer carrot cake! There aren't enough adjectives to describe these two desserts! We thoroughly enjoyed everything about this experience! I just expended $500 included my tip in cash, our bill was $411.85 For a dinner that was just OK, the Chilean Sea Bass was a little overcooked, and the steak was OK. The waiter served a glass of wine after a sample of a different wine ($25 glass) in the same glass. We just looked and didn't say anything... We sat on the bar's patio, which had nice electric heaters that kept us comfortable as the evening chill set it. We started with the tuna tartar. It was elegantly plated, with a LOT of large chunks of very fresh and tasty tuna, with a spicy avocado layer (wasabi?) and a nice crunchy layer. For my entree, I had the lobster linguini and my wife had the shellfish cob salad with French onion soup. All three plates were fantastic. The salad had more lobster and shrimp than expected, the linguini had WAY more lobster than I expected, and the soup had a wonderfully deep flavor (yes, my wife let me taste it). Each dish was delicious and attractive. For desert, my wife ordered the chocolate torte and we both had coffee. Amazing experience for us tonite at Ocean Prime. We both choice sea bass! And the lobster tails. The lobster was perfect and we enjoyed it so much. The candle heated butter to dip in was a delicious choice and such a nice accompaniment. I added a little butter to my sea bass. The sea bass was cooked so perfect and very melt in your mouth. It came w lovely broccolini and some whipped potatoes. Also perfectly grilled. I remember some lovely asparagus somewhere, I believe w the lobsters and that was cooked great, blanched perhaps w the right amount of crunch My date was so sweet and let us get 2 deserts, a whipped peanut butter pie covered in a delicious chocolate sauce. And the famous butter cake with a raspberry coulis sauce. Both completely enjoyable and delicious! Our dinner was beautiful and so delicious. I also had a white wine and chose Spain. We had an amazing time at ocean prime! We used to come here quite regularly a few years ago, but it's been awhile and we decided to celebrate Valentine's Day here and it was very special. We had a beautiful booth, and I had one of the best espresso martinis here. The Hamachi carpaccio was delicious too for an appetizer, as well as the warm bread basket. It was my first time trying Chilean sea bass here and it was wonderful. We also got the truffle Mac & cheese which was super flavorful and perfect to split, as well as the smoked Gouda tater tots which were really unique and crispy. We were excited to see Ocean Prime on the Arizona Restaurant Week list, so we decided to give it a try for date night. The restaurant is huge and has a really fancy vibe. We were seated in one of the smaller rooms, which felt a little cozier. Our server was fine, friendly enough, but nothing memorable. They offer both the Restaurant Week menu and the regular menu, so we decided to sample a bit of both. From the Restaurant Week menu, which is $55 per person, we had the house salad, an 8oz filet with Oscar style, and the Blackened Snapper. My husband thought the filet was way too salty, and you have to pay extra for both the steak and the Oscar style. The snapper was overcooked and dry, which was disappointing. Dessert was strawberry ice cream with an almond cookie, which was simple but nice. One thing to note, if you order from the Restaurant Week menu, they don't bring bread, but we weren't too worried about that. For drinks, we had a Bacardi rum and a non-alcoholic Blackberry Club. From the regular menu, we ordered the Seafood Tower with jumbo shrimp cocktail and a mix of East and West Coast oysters, along with Prime Steak Tartare and Onion Soup. We ended up spending more on the regular menu than the Restaurant Week menu. We love to try new restaurants for our date nights, but this visit was just okay. This restaurant is as its name implies, the best of the ocean! They have very fresh seafood - as if the restaurant was literally next to a dock. The goat cheese ravioli was very unique with a delicious juxtaposition of flavors and the dessert was *chef's kiss* amazing. I chose this restaurant for a celebration and it was the perfect spot. I sure do love it when a place is everything one can hope for and more! The service was excellent and the design of the space was beautiful. I will say the choice of upbeat club music was the only thing that did not match the ambiance and classy feel of the restaurant, but overall it didn't disrupt the evening. The food was good and service were great. The ocean sushi roll, king crab legs, lobster linguine, Chilean sea bass were all delicious! And the chocolate peanut butter pie was one of the best desserts we've ever had. Our only complaint was that my husband asked them not to char the steak, but it still came out charred. This upscale restaurant has a fabulous and affordable happy hour. We enjoyed Manhattan's and calamari. We have never had Manhattans as good as Ocean Prime Manhattan's. Between my buddy and his son, we had sushi, chicken, and a 10 ounce fillet. We also shared some au gratin potatoes and a flourless chocolate cake for dessert as a starter. We had this amazing shrimp. I was quite impressed with all of the food. The shrimp was exquisite as an appetizer and the au gratin potatoes with amazing cheese and flavor, complimented my fillet perfectly. When we got there, it was not as crowded, but then as the night progressed, it got much more attention and filled up on this Saturday night. It was a comfortable space with good lighting and felt upscale without being overly pretentious. Veggie sushi roll nice mix of veggies fresh and crisp with tons of flavor and a fantastic presentation. NY strip was charred as requested to a perfect medium. Very flavor, tender and most import the cut was trimmed correctly- no copious amount of fat or chew bits often served at restaurants. Final we had black truffle Mac n cheese, obviously fresh made cheese sauce nice flavor well balanced not heavy nice silky texture. Interesting experience. We had a reservation, our table in one section wasn't ready but we accepted a change of room to get in at our scheduled time. I couldn't care less if we were in the terrace or on the patio. However, this change somehow resulted in no server assisting us. After 30 minutes a server never came. When our ticket was printed at the front the change of room wasn't identified and no one told a server we had been seated. However, during the 30 minute server less wait, the server at the next table talked smack about the venue, its employees, the training or lack thereof, how she can't wait to finish training for her other job, and all the behind the scenes drama. The server appeared to be family friends with those guests. She looked at us a few times, but either never thought to check on us or find our server, instead she embodied the smack she talked about others. I talked to the manager, he took our drink order and apps, and apologized. The other table told their server we talked with the manager, and the server said something like that's why I am trying to leave here. The drinks were good, the jalapeño potatoes were delicious. The warm butter cake was a good finisher. The filet was half the thickness of any other filet I've seen, and the ny strip was average. All in all, at a fancier joint you are paying for an experience, which we didn't get, and the food was average for a classier joint. read more

The parking can be a problem but they also have valet available. Ambiance is PRIME, Customer Service is above and beyond, very clean throughout. Alexa was our Server and she did a marvelous job, very attentive and accommodating. Seems to enjoy her job a lot, you can tell by how she treats her customers. Food was excellent, Cocktails very nicely crafted. Be sure and try the pretzel bread, phenomenal. I had the HH Sakura Burger with Truffle Fries, Yummy on both. Happy Hour pricing is very reasonable. They had plenty of drinks on the menu to choose from but we weren't imbibing today but they looked delicious. We all ordered from the brunch menu. I ordered the short rib surf and turf, which has lobster and short rib on top of a Gouda potato cake. It was delicious! The short rib was fall apart tender and the poached egg on top was perfectly cooked with a runny yolk. My husband ordered the steak and eggs. The steak was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. It was served with a poached egg, asparagus; and roasted potatoes. My mother in law ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict, which she really enjoyed as well. Overall, it was a great experience. This is not a good review so I'll begin with what was good. The ambience is great. It's beautifully decorated and has a very upscale vibe. The dessert was out of this world. When we walked in and took in the decor, I thought this would be the kind of service and food we wanted. I was soon disappointed. Four of us were dining and were seated at the small four top despite plenty of larger four tops available. Then, I inquired about the smoking seafood tower and asked what was included and why it was called smoking. I was told by one waiter that it's custom and then she walked off. The second waiter accompanying her quickly launched into what the tower typically has and before I could ask how to customize or for market price, he left. We did not order this because it wasn't clear what was available and the pricing. We ended up ordering several small plates to share. When they arrived, a server placed them all - one by one- directly in front of me. This left myself and my dining companions to move each item out of my way to the empty middle of the table. The spinach had no bacon, though advertised with it. The lobster Mac and cheese was meh at best, though the lobster in it was good. We had ordered two bread baskets. A server removed and tossed the remaining bread in the first one. We ordered a second. We asked our main server to box all our leftovers, of which there were plenty after ordering around 7 apps and 2 bread baskets. She said she would. Suddenly several staff descended on our table and began busting clearing dishes. We assumed they would be boxed for us. We ordered dessert and cappuccino. The check came for $250 and we asked about the boxed items and were told they were thrown out. The waitress did bring us another boxed bread baskets, but no discount given when our leftovers had been tossed. The service was awful for this caliber of restaurant. The food was mediocre for the price. It has potential but honestly I would only dine there again if the restaurant offered a steep discount for this experience on my next bill. Great location in high street. The decor is elegant. I love that they have a main dining room and a separate lounge area. I noticed many regulars in the lounge area who go in and have dinner a few times a week some by themselves and a few couples as well. Great vibes as everyone was very friendly with each other. The service was great. I happened to come in for restaurant week so I started with a Caesar salad, then ordered the scallops and finished with some ice cream. The scallops were seared to perfection. This is a great place that you can dress up more for the main dining room or dress down a little in the lounge. Great for date night, special occasions, girls night out or a solo dinner after work.
