This is not a good review so I'll begin with what was good. The ambience is great. It's beautifully decorated and has a very upscale vibe. The dessert was out of this world. When we walked in and took in the decor, I thought this would be the kind of service and food we wanted. I was soon disappointed. Four of us were dining and were seated at the small four top despite plenty of larger four tops available. Then, I inquired about the smoking seafood tower and asked what was included and why it was called smoking. I was told by one waiter that it's custom and then she walked off. The second waiter accompanying her quickly launched into what the tower typically has and before I could ask how to customize or for market price, he left. We did not order this because it wasn't clear what was available and the pricing. We ended up ordering several small plates to share. When they arrived, a server placed them all - one by one- directly in front of me. This left myself and my dining companions to move each item out of my way to the empty middle of the table. The spinach had no bacon, though advertised with it. The lobster Mac and cheese was meh at best, though the lobster in it was good. We had ordered two bread baskets. A server removed and tossed the remaining bread in the first one. We ordered a second. We asked our main server to box all our leftovers, of which there were plenty after ordering around 7 apps and 2 bread baskets. She said she would. Suddenly several staff descended on our table and began busting clearing dishes. We assumed they would be boxed for us. We ordered dessert and cappuccino. The check came for $250 and we asked about the boxed items and were told they were thrown out. The waitress did bring us another boxed bread baskets, but no discount given when our leftovers had been tossed. The service was awful for this caliber of restaurant. The food was mediocre for the price. It has potential but honestly I would only dine there again if the restaurant offered a steep discount for this experience on my next bill. Service and staff were EXCELLENT. But the food was mediocre and one of our guests who has celiac disease became sick afterwards, most likely due to gluten contamination. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants but we do not recommend it anymore. High end restaurants like this one are no guarantee that the cook staff is educated in preparing food for people with celiac disease. read more

Thoroughly enjoyed our in bar high top dining experience. Very cool cocktail selection. Berried and Bubbles. Old Fashion with Angels Envy Rye. Yum. Wonderful atmosphere. Excellent appetizer choices. Well prepared. Tasty. Especially the cheese ravioli and Prime Roll. Big hit. Salads were hearty portions. Well dressed. Nice selection. Only one minor comment regarding the steak. New York cut. Just lacked flavor. Meat was tender enough to cut with a fork. But just didn't stand out like you'd expect from a prime cut of beef. Other than that, we enjoyed the experience immensely. Great location in high street. The decor is elegant. I love that they have a main dining room and a separate lounge area. I noticed many regulars in the lounge area who go in and have dinner a few times a week some by themselves and a few couples as well. Great vibes as everyone was very friendly with each other. The service was great. I happened to come in for restaurant week so I started with a Caesar salad, then ordered the scallops and finished with some ice cream. The scallops were seared to perfection. This is a great place that you can dress up more for the main dining room or dress down a little in the lounge. Great for date night, special occasions, girls night out or a solo dinner after work. Somehow cooked to all stages of beef evolution in one bite well-done on the edge, medium in the middle, and rare in the emotional damage it left behind. It was less prime cut and more guess what temperature this is. Spoiler all of them. Mac & cheese? Watery. Like the noodles had anxiety and didn't want to commit to being comfort food. Mashed potatoes? Zero flavor. I've had more seasoned opinions in my school cafeteria days. Then came the manager. Mate looked at me, locked eyes like we were about to share a spiritual moment, and said: "Delicious, right?" I blinked. He blinked. The silence between us said everything. Especially when I turned down the box for leftovers like it was radioactive. He nodded like, "Yeah... he knows." Just to make sure I wasn't having a personal food crisis, I asked a guy in the bathroom how his food was. He goes, "Bro, I was four cocktails in before I even got my entrée." Ah. So that's the Ocean Prime business model confuse your taste buds and sedate your judgment. Meanwhile, my girl looks like she just lost faith in West Coast cuisine. She's not from here. Went to a second restaurant just to spiritually recover. Had to rewrite the night like we were editing a bad chapter. I've never written a food review in my life. Ever. But this? Our server JP attended to our every need and checked in frequently! I was dining here as a belated birthday gift. The atmosphere was spot on as well as the food & service! The scallops were cooked to perfection & lobster bisque was good with chunky pieces of lobster, but a bit salty. My friends had the teriyaki salmon which was very good. We made a last minute reservation for bar happy hour and they asked if it was a special occasion we expressed a bday. I hadn't been to the Ocean Prime in North which is rude because I have been here for about 6 years. I think I've been to the one in Atlanta. Anywho, I came for the happy hour because my boss told me it was one of the best. I think it was a Monday, I went to the bar and after I ordered my wine the waiter immediately let me know that there was no happy hour. I told him that was fine. I knew it was so I was just waiting for him to catch up. He did finally then he came over and apologized. No worries, people make mistakes. I order the lamb chops, prime sliders and the calamari. One of my favorite restaurants of all time! Definitely one of the pricier side, so we usually save it for a special occasion. I love to get the Berries & Bubbles cocktail because it tastes fabulous and the dried ice smoke elevates the drink to more of an experience. We typically start with the Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli and Dynamite Roll, which are both divine. I usually get the 8oz Filet Mignon with bleu cheese on it. I don't think you could go wrong with any steak though! The Teriyaki Salmon is also delicious. While the appetizers and main entrees always impress, so do the desserts. Our favorites are the Chocolate Torte and Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie. It's always a hard decision which to get! The restaurant staff always does a good job of acknowledging what you are celebrating and left happy birthday confetti on the table since we were there to celebrate a birthday! Amazing experience. The service was exceptional! Everyone greeted us and checked on us often. We celebrated a 30th birthday and they called ahead of time to obtain names and made it very personal with the table decor and birthday card. We started with a few of the sushi rolls and it was fresh and tasty. The calamari was our favorite... the sauce they mix it in is delicious definitely recommend. My mom and aunt are visiting from NJ and just so happened to be in town during restaurant week so I decided to make a reservation here since I had not been. Service was top notch from the minute we entered the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by the hostess to the minute we were seated at our table, the staff were very attentive. Each table was served with pretzel sticks and bread. I only had the pretzel sticks but i had two because they were that good lol. Our server, Thomas, was AMAZING! He even took a selfie with my phone (photo attached) From the three course meal selection, I ordered the Caesar salad as my first course, the Teriyaki Salmon for my second course and the the five layer carrot cake for my third. My aunt ordered the Sea Scallops. Thomas told us that the salmon was marinated for 24 hours in the sauce and man you can tell. The salmon was bursting with flavor from the sticky rice to the mushrooms that accompanied it. My aunt allowed me to taste some of her scallops and those were delicious as well. What a great time! We had a rather large group but were able to secure a reservation and got seated right away. The service was a little slow but I understand there are staffing shortages. While it took our food an hour to get to our table and they weren't busy at all, everything was amazing. We were lucky to take advantage of the restaurant week deal and I had the teriyaki salmon with a Caesar salad. I don't usually order salmon out but teriyaki based is my favorite and this didn't disappoint. I had a little left over and ate it for breakfast the next day. We also had warm bread delivered to the table and I had 3 pieces of the pretzel bread, it was so good! I added an order of truffle fries and they were also very tasty. I enjoyed my experience here at Ocean Prime. Before I get into the food, let me just say I loved the design and decor of this place. It's so chic and modern and is truly a representation of the name. For food, I had sushi. I ended up getting the tempura and couldn't be more pleased. The plating was beautiful (I don't think my picture did it any justice) and the food was delicious! I loved every bite of it. For the side...who eats a side with sushi? Lol.., I had the cream spinach. They give you a large serving! I also tried the complimentary bread. I took my husband and my son here this evening to celebrate my husband's birthday. I mentioned in the reservation that it was my husband's birthday. When we were seated , there was no mention of it. Typically the host/hostess will say I hear we're celebrating a birthday tonight whose birthday is it? But there was nothing. We sat down and after about six or seven minutes a nice guy named Colin came up and said that he would be helping us that night. He brought us waters and then he left. About six minutes later an older gentleman came over and said that he would be helping us. I asked him where Colin was and he said oh he'll be assisting me. We never saw Colin again. Anyway, I mentioned to our server that we were celebrating my husband's birthday because I wanted to make sure that it would be acknowledged. Our server simply said oh that's wonderful. Then we ordered our drinks and a bread basket, which you have to pay extra for. It's not complementary like most high-end steakhouses and extra if you want more. My husband ordered an 8 ounce fillet and my son and I split a 10 ounce fillet. They were both good but not overly memorable. My husband also ordered the French onion soup before dinner and my son and I split the wedge. Both were delicious. For our sides, we ordered the au gratin potatoes, which were just OK, nothing special and lacking flavor. We also ordered the truffle mac & cheese, which was bomb! So delicious. Also ordered the asparagus with hollandaise. This side was not great as the asparagus were way overcooked and a bit mushy. We finished our dinner and had everything that was left over packed up. We were never asked for dessert and nothing was ever mentioned from our server about my husband's birthday. No little cupcake or chocolate, no happy birthday, nothing, nada, zip. Just thank you and goodbye. Super disappointing since it was mentioned multiple times. The restaurant itself is beautiful and definitely has a vibe. Whoever designed it is very talented. I would have to say, though that one thing that really turned me off was that we were seated at a small four top table against the window. At the window were faux wood blinds, and the view was the parking lot. It definitely diminished the high-end steakhouse vibe, and made you feel like you were sitting at a Chili's or an Applebee's. There were a bunch of young people outside the window, yelling and carrying on and just being evening weekend obnoxious. So that was kind of a drag. Overall, our experience was just all right. Nothing special and a little disappointing. There are so many amazing high-end steakhouses in the Scottsdale Phoenix area. Mastros, oceans 44, Dominic's. The list goes on. Would we come back to Ocean prime? Most likely not. It was not worth the $360 birthday dinner that we paid just to ne overlooked. read more

Ocean Prime Point Judith Calamari with Sweet Chili Sauce was very delicious, excellent choice to start a meal. So we split to have Surf and Turf 16 oz Ribeye seasoned and broiled at 1200 degrees was a generous cut prepared perfectly at medium rare. The cut of beef had a couple tuff spots, was not the most tender cut I have had, I understand this is a restaurant that specializes in seafood. Chilean Sea Bass with whipped Potatoes, Champagne Truffle Sauce was delicious but did not hit the expectations. Sides of Jalapeño Au Gratin, Sauteed Mushrooms, Asparagus were all good complimentary sides. Just good, not a wow from the the quality of restaurant presented. Desserts Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie was pretty good, oh so rich. 10 Layer Carrot Cake with creme cheese icing and Pineapple sauce was very good Warm Butter Cake with fresh berries, vanilla ice cream and Raspberry sauce was exceptional, highly recommend this dessert if you are to have just one Restaurant ambiance is exceptional and a wonderful place to impress. Absolutely delicious. I have been to the Beverly Hills location back home in Los Angeles so was expecting this one to be great while visiting town as well and was not let down. Service was awesome, prompt and friendly. The design on the inside is really well done and it's at the very corner of a long row of restaurants and bars so it's a great area to spend some time. For my starter I chose the Lobster Bisque and it was delicious. Perfect amount of lobster at the bottom and the taste was absolutely fantastic. For my entrée I chose the Sea Bass and ate every bit of it. It was a large portion and cooked well. I would happily order it again. Parking is extremely easy in the area and they also offer valet out front as well. I would recommend to any fan of seafood or anyone looking for a delicious dinner. I plan to be back. read more

So I have pretty much been to every steakhouse in the valley over the last 20 years, but never to Ocean Prime for some reason, so I went last night. Every person in the place was so nice which was a pleasant surprise. From the greeters in the front to the wait staff. Then the food was excellent! Not pictured is the pretzel bread which is a must. It was too loud and the tables are spread apart you aren't on top of anyone else. All of the food was fantastic and I will be going back much more often. read more

$320 dinner to night at the ER, DO NOT COME HERE. I went with my wife Saturday night to celebrate Valentines Day on the 15th, ordered sushi and grilled snapper. Within an hour of leaving the restaurant (we left only an hour into dinner because neither of us were feeling well), was profusely vomiting with simultaneous diarrhea for five hours straight. Went to the ER at ~2:30 in the morning. Needed 3 IV bags while in the ER. Came home Sunday morning and called the restaurant. Long story short, was offered a gift card and told if they receive more complaints their internal health department (whatever they call it) would then do a thorough inspection of their kitchen.
