Let me save you some time: if you're reading reviews trying to decide whether Red House is worth it, stop reading and just go. I live in Tucson, not at all close to this place, and I've sampled plenty of the Chinese restaurants between Tucson and Phoenix. In all my years of eating Chinese food around the Valley, and hunting for quick bites before the long drive home, there is no other comfort food that does it quite like Red House The crab rangoons. I have personally stomached two full orders in a single sitting and have still thought to bring more. These are not your average panda express rangoons. I would argue these sit alongside the best appetizers I've eaten. The house chow fun is absolutely delightful too. I struggle to find places that can get a single steak, a shrimp, and a chicken individually right so to have all three of them melded together just right in one single dish is just fantastic to me. The portions are generous too (you WILL have leftovers, and you WILL be happy about it tomorrow) and the owners and staff are the kindest. Whether you're settling into the cozy, no-fuss dining room or grabbing takeout (which, by the way, has consistently been ready on time, always right, and always hot) you can tell these are folks who take real pride in what they do. Pro tip: call ahead for takeout and it'll be waiting when you walk in. Free parking right out front, too. Do yourself a favor. Skip the chains, drive the extra miles, and thank me later. Returned after awhile and got a very below average chicken and broccoli. The dish was drenched in a thick dark sauce which wilted all the broccoli. The white meat chicken wasn't top quality either. read more

I love this place. I wasn't feeling well today and their egg drop soup was a no brainer. Also decided to try the Chow House Fun with Beef, light sauce. I was craving drunken noodles and the manager recommended this option. A few bites hit the spot. Included onions, scallions and sprouts. Staff are always so kind and welcoming. read more

This food is to die for!!! I picked up and the amount of food for the price is amazing. My sweet and sour chicken was so crispy and they give you so much sauce so you can choose how much you want on your chicken, fried rice had great flavor, and best crab rangoon I have ever had. Forget Red House Chinese. I recommended them recently and I'm sorry I did. I placed a delivery order at 3:25pm on their website and as of 5:33pm I still have not received my order. I have literally have called 5 times, told a manager will call me, left a voicemail and been hung up on twice. Unacceptable! Part of of me wants to drive there and yell at them in person but cooler heads will prevail. Don't know what is going on but I will never patronize that place again. read more

We placed a to go order and were very disappointed with our meal. The orange chicken and the teriyaki chicken were both very dry. Absolutely no sauce left with the dish. Went here on Christmas Day. Staff was so rude. We had 6 people with us and when we got there, there was no one else in the establishment. The first 2 people got their food and it was cold. It was returned and heated up and then everyone else but one person got their food. The whole table was done before the last person finally got their order. People who ordered after us got their food before the last person in our party so clearly they forgot about our last order. The teriyaki chicken we got was basically orange chicken with teriyaki sauce. Also ordered 2 appetizers which we got after our food. The food tasted ok but the whole place was utter chaos. I used to love this place, they always had some of the best eggrolls. However, this year they started overcooking them, to where the outside is hard. They have a different flavor to them also, provoking a thought that they are not changing the oil they fry them in frequently enough. I have tried several times going back, thinking it was a one time bad experience, giving them the benefit of the doubt, but today I oredered the eggrolls and they were worse than the previous time, to hard and crunchy, very dry. Fantastic dishes with fresh ingredients, all reasonably priced. Our dinners were ready quickly and couldn't be more delicious.

Although they will tell you they have not changed the recipe's, I think they have changed owners. I have consistently ordered the Kung Pow Shrimp for several years. But the last time I ordered the dish the shrimp was smaller and tasted different. The shrimp had the look of being cooked and then added to the rest of the dish. It almost pains me to say this, my favorite Chinese restaurant for years was Jade Palace. However, over the last several years I think the food quality has plunged, while prices have soared. Over the last two months I have ordered from Red House twice. I think this place is on a major upswing. My dinner tonight was actually outstanding- (i ordered Mongolian Beef Very spicy). It was outstanding! I also had the Egg Drop Wonton soup- and it was every bit as good as Jade Palace. The won-ton chips were the best; not all all greasy. Best authentic New York style Chinese food that I've had in the area. I'm glad I finally tried this place, being originally from the east coast I can be a little critical about Chinese food. This is more of a take out place, although you could stay and eat no one I saw did. The menu is awesome, so many options . I tried the House special Chow Mei Fun and it didn't disappoint. I just walked in and ordered and my food was ready in about 10 minutes, but you could call ahead or they deliver. I definitely would recommend this place. read more

Visiting the area and searched for a Chinese food carry out type place. Reviews looked good so I called in an order. Not disappointed. Food was great and good sized portions. Don't expect much if you are planning on dining in here. You order at the counter and the food comes in takeout containers when it is served. This makes for easy packing up of leftovers so I am not bothered by it. There are about 5 tables...let's face it, this place focuses on take out. We got the hot and sour soup which had minimal spice to it, the wonton soup, which had a flavorful broth but the wontons were a bit chewy. The sweet and sour chicken comes with the sauce on the side. I ordered the combo plate with fried rice and ended up with white rice but it wasn't worth having it fixed. While waiting for our food we overheard quite a few little mistakes like this so obviously they were a bit overwhelmed. Maybe it was just an off night. I did not care for the sweet and sour sauce as it had a heavy chemical cherry taste to it. The king pao chicken was good with lots of zucchini in it. The star of the show was boneless bbq ribs. I hardly ever see them anymore so I was excited to find them on the menu. The portion size was huge for a small order and they were delicious!!! Another major plus for this place was packets of duck sauce. I never see this out here and I love duck sauce. I would go back for the ribs but skip the soup and pick a different entree. read more

Good solid Chinese fast food. On average, I get takeout from there 3 times a month. My favorite is Kung Pao chicken. The Orange chicken is also very good. Not fond of the hot and sour soup but the wonton.soup is excellent. read more

Since this restaurant opened a few years ago, it has been consistent with excellent dishes and good quality ingredients, more so than other establishments. We've been customers for nearly a decade. For the most part, we've been satisfied. However, there have been instances of problems. Now, our last order was our last order. The order was botched by them, despite our clear and specific special instructions input on the order platform. When we called to let them know, the person on the phone began yelling and ultimately hung up. Before doing so, she said she'd correct the order error, but would charge us. Customers getting yelled at, harassed, hung up on and left feeling somewhat extorted are heading elsewhere. This is bad business. Beware. read more

We ordered pick up from Red House last night (Christmas Eve)....the place was packed! the order took a bit longer than usual, but they were super busy. They were handling it with grace, though. Kudos to the hardworking team and the very pleasant woman (owner maybe?) who was getting it all done. The food here is consistently good! we typically order kung pao shrimp, tofu with broccoli in garlic sauce, vegetable lo mein, and shrimp rolls. NY style Chinese food. So after Saturday night, I've been flummoxed on what to write on our previous go-to Chinese place. This is a family run business, so I'm always very careful on what to write when things appear to be going down hill. Let 's just say my rating is under review, from 4 Stars to 3 Stars, to ???. The food is simply not the same and Lordie yes, we've had better from here. In a word, it's bland and doesn't appear fresh. The pot stickers had no tasty. Both the Sesame Chicken and General Tso's, looked and tasted the same. And, the texture of both looked mushy (photo), like it was defrosted in a wok. My Hot n Sour soup was chicken broth-ish and again bland. Ugh. Maybe the regular cook had the night off, so I don't want to write Red House off just yet.
