Best Chinese food around! And yet I drive 45 minutes because it's not "around" where we live. I have no idea how it's been five years of coming to this restaurant that I didn't write a review. The food is outstanding, the service is beyond perfection, and we are never disappointed. Never! And I don't use that word lightly. Sarah is always our server and she is incredible! I just can't say enough about her. We appreciate all she does. And the bus boys are always friendly and on top of your water, iced tea, and clearing the table after each phase of the meal. Our go two items are first the New York egg roll. You cannot go wrong. We've also had many of their soups, which come with fresh fried wontons, sweet-and-sour and mustard sauce. We enjoy a nose-running mix (lol) of these two items, but yours doesn't have to be. And if you like shrimp, these jumbo shrimp will not disappoint. Our go to is always the sweet and pungent shrimp. It's incredible. Lightly fried, we can't come here without ordering them. The next go-to is the beef chow fun. You can order it with any meat, but this is our favorite. The meat is so tender. I absolutely love this noodle dish! They also have low mein, which is also delicious, but the chow fun we have to order at every visit. Next is their dried green beans. Perfectly cooked and fried, just enough that they're still crispy. They are so flavorful! My other favorite is their chicken and black bean sauce. On this trip, we didn't order it, I ordered the shrimp with snow peas. Both are incredible. I think one of the most impressive parts of this establishment is that the owner and manager always comes to every table, at some point during your meal. From start to finish this place is just perfection. I've tried, on multiple occasions, to get them to open a place out in Verrado - Buckeye Arizona, which is where we live, but to no avail. Ordered takeout from Jade Palace through Uber Eats using a buy-one-get-one-free deal. The value was great with the promotion. The pork fried rice was well seasoned. The chicken was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and had a great flavor. The broth in the wonton soup was clean, light, and delicious. My only disappointment was the wontons themselves. They were hallowed no filling, which isn't what I expected from wonton soup. Is that normal for this place or was it a mistake? (I'm not sure if that was a mistake or just how they prepare it, but it kept the meal from being excellent.) The packaging was also good everything arrived hot, secure, and nothing leaked or spilled. I'm going to start with why only 4 stars instead of 5. For Arizona this is a 5 star restaurant. In New York or Chicago this would be your average Chinese restaurant. That said if I lived closer and they had a lunch special I'd be eating here at least once a week. The food is some of the best Chinese food I've had in AZ and sadly it took me over 30 years here to find it. When you walked in the restaurant you are greeted by a very friendly hostess and seated at a table with real tablecloths and napkins. This is not a hole in the wall restaurant. Some of my favorite restaurants are holes in the wall. I digress. Shortly afterwards we we greeted by our server Maya. She was friendly and very helpful. We ordered soup, egg rolls, Mongolian beef and pork fried rice. Maya said she would bring out the soup first followed by the egg rolls and then the entrees if that was acceptable to us. First the soup. We tried the hot and sour as well as the won ton. Bothe very good. The hot and sour as well as the wonton had chicken. The won ton had shrimp and vegetables as well. Before the egg rolls came out they cleared the soup bowls. The egg rolls. I've been looking for real egg rolls in az for 30 years. Crisp wrappers. Stuffed with fresh and crispy veggies, shrimp and BBQ pork pieces. Not soggy veggies and ground meat. The only thing missing is that hint of peanut butter that you get in a real Chicago egg roll. But I guess that's why they call it a NY egg roll. If you've ever been to Wo Hop in NYC you will feel right at home with these egg rolls. I almost forgot. They bring you a knife. Without having to ask. They do ask if you want chopsticks. The Mongolian beef. Very tender and slightly sweet sauce with a bit too many onions. Could it be better. Yes. But for AZ it's a 4. What would make it better if it were slightly crispy and spicy. And fewer onions and more beef. But we were pleasantly surprised. Finally the pork fried rice. Probably some of the best fried rice I've had in AZ. I didn't have to ask for no carrots or peas. There weren't any. There was a bit too much egg but that's a personal thing. The rice was the right texture and the pork was very good as well. Get the fried rice. We weren't rushed. The staff was very friendly and the food was about as good as it gets in AZ. The cons are it's not inexpensive. But it is worth it as long as you can part with the cash. I don't know why it only averages 3 1/2 stars based on my experience. I will be back. At least once a month. read more

Seems to be a popular place! We have a tradition of eating Chinese food every May 28th. This was our spot this time. I was here a few years ago with family and wasn't feeling well so all I could do was watch as they raved about the food and I remember it looking the part too !! A few weeks back I got my redemption song and it was a stellar experience. Shrimp Chow Fun , chicken Fried rice , beef and Broccoli were unbelievably tasty and fresh. A nice light sauce versus the neon red east coast takeout syrup made the sweet n sour chicken stand out from the other entrees. Great team play allowed the food and drink to come out fast. My entrees not even out yet and I'm thinking American Chinese this might be the best I've had in the country! They were too big to eat in one bite and hard to cut through with the Chinese soup spoon. Am accustomed to smaller wontons with really thin skins so these were not as good. They are now serving fried wonton skins with two dipping sauces at every table. That was a nice touch. Was in the mood for egg foo yung so ordered that with shrimp. They were really delicious. Three large patties with really big shrimp in them. The sauce was much lighter in color than usual and tasted really good rich in flavor. Food here is always yummy and tasty but I recently was disappointed with the takeout service and would like to share my experience. I like the Healthy Chicken and the fried wonton chips but for some reason, the sauces that accompany these were missing. I always do takeout and assume that everything is in the package as they staple the bag when you pick up the food. Spoke with the manager on duty and he told me I have partial credit next time I order a takeout. This is not acceptable as the Healthy Chicken is best with the sauce. I feel that he should have offered to comp the whole dish for next time? Or offered someone to deliver the sauce? How should he have remedied the situation? To be fair, I don't enjoy giving negative reviews. For background, my husband and I have been loyal and satisfied diners since they opened the 92nd/Shea location. The food was consistently delicious and service good. Since Covid, we have done more takeout than dine in. The food had been very good, packaged beautifully to go I might add. The last few takeout orders have been disappointing. The changes were subtle at first. Everyone is trying to stay afloat in these tumultuous times. Raising prices is a given- accepted! Cutting back on portions and quality does not make good bedfellows! Last night our order consisted of wor wonton soup and a beef and scallop entree. The broth was tasty, the snow pea pods looked and tasted like they were at least A week old. The dumpling noodles were so overcooked, they fell apart. Now onto the entree- The beef was coated in some gelatinous coating that was unpleasant to look at -better left unsaid, what it tasted like.. The accompanying fried chips for the soup were sparse and mostly crumbs. We fully understand what it takes to keep the lights on in today's toxic and frightening environment. But to raise prices AND REDUCE the quality of your badge of honor - your reputation, is foolish and a poor business model. I sincerely hope management reads their reviews. This is not a random gripe. Front of the house staff were friendly & greeted everyone coming in & leaving. I came in & placed an order to go & received it very quickly. I'm baffled at the spongy texture because this is supposed to be flank steak. I've never had spongy flank steak in my life. It wasn't crispy and I can't even say it's simply because I ordered the food to go. I don't live that far & the food was all still hot when I started eating. The grand marnier shrimp was simply another version of Honey Walnut Shrimp but the grand marnier could not be tasted. The walnuts were very candied but not in good flavor. The shrimp itself was decent. I know this is a very American dish but broccoli doesn't need to go with everything. The last ordered dish were the 3 spare ribs. The "glaze" tastes cola based & the meat itself overall was not good. It wasn't spoiled or anything but simply did not taste good & was not flavorful at all. Greasy, chimichanga sized disasters($6 for 1 egg-roll) stuffed with 1lb of cabbage 3 dried shrimp and some desiccated beef powder. Also ordered a quart of wonton soup with extra shrimp. There were 2 wontons and 1 shrimp in the soup and it tasted at least a couple days old(the wontons were completely mushed up in the broth and the veggies dissolved). Service was mediocre. Just like most reviews here, it's quite overpriced for the food. We came 2 days ago and ordered BBQ ribs, Shrimp with lobster sauce and dry string beans with steak. Most dishes were good, but nothing special. String beans were on the salty side. However the most disappointing one is the steamed rice. It was waaay undercooked.
