"Hao Hao" means "Good Good" in Chinese, and honestly, that name fits perfectly! If they opened a location on the West side, I have no doubt it would be a big hit. The restaurant shares its space with the ice cream shop next door, divided by a half wall. You can't walk between the two, but you can easily see and wave to someone on the other side, a quirky and fun setup. The decor is simple and feels like it might be leftover from the previous restaurant. Our server was friendly, though the woman with short hair seemed a bit less friendly, maybe we caught her right before a break? Oh well. We ordered Hot & Sour Soup, Salt and Pepper Pork Chop, Shrimp Pan-Fried Noodles, and Dried Scallop & Crab Meat Fried Rice. We always use Hot & Sour Soup as a first-visit test at Chinese restaurants, and this one passed, loaded with ingredients and just the right amount of spice. The fried rice was flavorful without being greasy, and the pork chop was delicious and perfectly cooked. You can tell they use fresh oil, the pork wasn't dark or oily at all. The pan fried noodles were tasty, though I wished they were a bit crispier, as they came out softer than I expected. Portions? Huge. Prices? Reasonable. Parking? Easy. We'll definitely be back to try more! "Hao Hao" means "Good Good" in Chinese, and honestly, that name fits perfectly! Chicken curry "extra mild"

Ordered 3 items. 1. Wor Wonton soup. Very good: 4.5/5 2. Walnut shrimp. Excellent. 4.9/5 3. Chicken curry, ordered minimum spice- no spice, very mild please! 1.5/5. It was very spicy. Several hot peppers. For an older person, it's pretty much inedible. Sorry, can't eat it.

Hao Hao Chinese Beef Chow Fun was very good, generous serving to have for family style meal. Highly recommend. Chicken Chow Mein is another good dish filled with veggies, chicken, mushrooms over a crispy noodle and gravy. Good stuff. Salt and Pepper Pork Chops another good dish to share family style, great flavor. Black Bean Fish this dish is okay, generally love black bean sauce over anything, just didn't wow me. Chicken and Broccoli was more American style, we prefer the gai lon Chinese broccoli over the regular broccoli. Eggplant is a dish I would not normally order, something my daughter chose, was good if you are an eggplant person otherwise so many other entrees to order. Fried Rice as usual, a very good compliment to order with good results and most everyone enjoys. Fish good tasting fish with compliments in a family style setting. Beef Cutlets always goes well with completing a meal. Overall good Chinese restaurant and nice to have in North Scottsdale and Phoenix, was told this was a split from Nee House.

Go early so you don't have to wait for the table. Everything we ordered are delicious! Soup comes in family/sharing style portion. They brought a huge bowl of soup to the table and put the soup into individual small bowls for you at the table. Hot and sour soup is tasty. Crab meat with fish maw soup is delicious and I want more and more. Rock cod fish filet with black bean sauce is the best! We ordered every time. Scallops with XO sauce is delicious. I like that the scollops are a bit dense. Shrimp with lobster sauce is good. The eggplants with hot garlic sauce is tasty. Braided string beans are classic and perfectly cooked.

Amazing Chinese food here. I have been coming here for some chow and the food quality is consistent, tastes great. It is a small restaurant so I tried to come here before the rush. My favorite is the tofu dish and pork chop!

Fried Pork Chop with salt and pepper (bone in)

Hao Hao Chinese Restaurant located in Scottsdale serving hearty good quality Chinese cuisine. Our last stop before driving back to Vegas. Location is good lots of parking. I like the entrance to this restaurant the garage door roll up idea, modern style, cute and simple decor. A simple menu that has a good selection of dishes to choose from. They share an area next to it called Rewind Treats serves Boba drinks and ice cream. We ordered the Vegetarian Eggrolls, the Salt Fish and Chicken Fried Rice and the Fried Pork Chop with salt and pepper (bone in). Food came out fresh, quick and very tasty. We ate everything no to go box needed. Service was good. We're glad we made this choice to have lunch here. When you're in the area stop and grab something good to eat and drink at Hao Hao Chinese Restaurant.

Recommend: Yes! Food: delicious. Service: was a bit slow. Not sure if they were short staff or still hiring. They run the Rewind Treats and the restaurant together. Note: not good for large groups. The place is small, and if there are multiple large groups, u may have to wait. There are more tables for 4 than any other seating. Finally got to try this place out. We ordered the west lake beef soup, dried scallop and crab meat fried rice, snow pea leaves, fried calamari with salt and pepper, and the Hao Hao's special fried noodle. Overall food were good. Some dishes were a bit slightly salty but not too crazy. I really like their west lake beef soup. The fried rice was also really good but some may not like the seafood fragrance. The snow pea leaves are tender and isn't tough. The calamari tasted bland since the seasoning and the onions were all well mixed/tossed. But they were okay if u get some of it and put it on top of the calamari. Lastly, the Hao Hao special noodle had beef, chicken, and shrimp. Personally, I think the seafood fried noodle would be better instead of the one we got. Also posted the hours since they didn't have hours posted.

Hao Hao is new Chinese restaurant in Scottsdale. The owners sold Nee House and opened this one. Food is exactly how I remember Nee House used to be. The menu is simpler here and the restaurant is set up more of a cafe (casual) style. Great location, right off of 101 & Via De Ventura. We had triple delight and green beans today. Both delicious!! Will be back for more and post pictures. Highly recommend!!

Horrible rendition of Cashew Chicken. Avoid this place!!

I ordered the cashew chicken. It was nothing more than celery, carrots and water chestnuts in a light garlic sauce with a bunch of dried old cashews on top not one thing about it tasted like cashew chicken. It was more like a cheap version of chow mein with a few cashews on top. The Vietnamese spring rolls were soggy in the middle and crunchy on the outside. Clearly they had been made earlier in the day and warmed up in the deep fryer horrible, horrible, horrible. The wonton soup was horrible not even a faint taste of chicken broth. If you can find any other place to go, I would go to panda express before I go back to this place there's just no good Chinese food in the city of Phoenix

I received news from friends that a new Chinese restaurant was opening in Scottsdale and it turns out to be former owners of Nee House. I hadn't been to Nee House in years, so when I heard that a veteran chef had decided to return to the restaurant business I was ecstatic to try them out again. There is not much ambiance or Chinese decor inside yet as they recently overtook a previous restaurant. That's alright, because I mainly came here for the food and the flavors are just as delicious as I remember! We came near opening time and beat the lunch rush. We ordered a few dishes to share and they came out steadily. I ordered a plate of Shaking Filet Mignon, Fried Pork Chop with Salt Pepper, Garlic with Snow Pea Leaf, and Beef Chow Fun. They all come plated family style and the portions are abundant. I really enjoyed the Fried Pork Chops and Filet Mignon, they were tender and savory especially when served hot and fresh out the kitchen. I can't wait to try their Mandarin Pork Chops or the Dried Scallop and Crab Meat Fried Rice on my next visit. They are also conjoined with a boba shop, which would be a nice treat for dessert. We are long time customers and it's great to have another Cantonese-style dining option to choose from. We will definitely be back soon!

Home is wherever @lizmodernasian is!…read more Thank you Liz & Howard for your unmatched hospitality, unreal flavors, and Michelin-level quality every time. We came hungry and started with steaming edamame, dumplings, and tempura shrimp (the holy trinity) The cashew chicken & veggies is my go-to lighter option - but this visit, the steamed bao buns stole the show - melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Liz even brought out seaweed so we could roll our own sushi - something I wouldn't have thought to order...now I'm fully obsessed! The dish that officially tops my list though: Liz's Lo Mein Noodles combo with chicken, pork, & beef. I've never tasted anything like it - dangerously addictive. 10/10 experience. Always. And strolling around the beautiful @scottsdalequarter afterward is the perfect way to end the evening. Counting down til my next visit!

So far, this is the oddest place I have been to. There is a…read moresmall child watching YouTube video game tutorials . A gentleman that seems overly preoccupied with putting food items in a delivery bag. Every table has a reserved sign on it, so where would you like us to sit? It seems very unorganized. I would expect to see this type of restraunt in a suburban strip mall, rather than a higher scale shopping mall. Took easily 10 min to get our drinks to us. Twice we were offered other people's food, so there is a need to update POS systems or front of house management. The cheese puffs are very good. The orange chicken was more sweet than spicy. No presentation, just put on a plate and take it out. I felt like I was at someone's home, rather than a restaurant. Maybe that is the vibe they are going for. The dish was more like opening up a bag of chicken fingers then dump a sweet orange sauce. If anyone has had a frozen orange chicken meal, made by a company that is famous for their pies. A meal that can be purchased at your local grocery store...well, that is close to what we are talking about. It came out without any serving utensil. WTH? The Mongolian beef was more like pot roast and fatty. It certainly was not what I would consider spicy. Ambiance is VERY casual. There are regulars and they seem to be like family, so that is cool, once you have been accepted in the circle of trust. Maybe I am spoiled, because we tend to get very good Chinese in Las Vegas, due to the "Whales" coming in to gamble. Maybe this considered fabulous for Scottsdale, but certainly not what I was raised to expect. Now, it has been few weeks since my nephew and I tried this place. I wanted to let it breathe before posting "hot". To be fair. We were offered some dumplings to apologize for the wait. We declined, because I was afraid of what they may taste like. I asked for the check and the lady resisted saying that we hardly touched the food and she did not want to charge. This also was nice, but my ENTIRE working life has been in the hospitality/customer service/food service industry. They have bills to pay. They prepared the meal. They provided the service. They deserved to be paid. She apologized once again and said that they were using a new cook. I thought that I might be unusually over-critical however, my nephew, who resembles a trash compactor went away saying that there would be way he would ever get food from there. I wish this place well. Maybe there needs to be a better front of house/back of house dynamic. I can think of many things that would help.

We tried some new dishes and were pleased. Wonton soup had a delicious clear chicken broth, rings of carrots, snow peas and two large wontons. For me the wonton skins were too thick and not cooked enough. They were too big to eat in one bite and hard to cut through with the Chinese soup spoon. Am accustomed to smaller wontons with really thin skins so these were not as good. They are now serving fried wonton skins with two dipping sauces at every table. That was a nice touch. Was in the mood for egg foo yung so ordered that with shrimp. They were really delicious. Three large patties with really big shrimp in them. The sauce was much lighter in color than usual and tasted really good rich in flavor. We also had a hot and sour soup and it was very good, not overly thickened and had the right flavor notes. We will be back as I am looking forward to trying their General Tso's chicken.
