I think coming here once is fun but not sure I'll go back. For $30 a plate, we had NEVER been here and didn't know what to expect. The waiter showed up looking like he was being held hostage for having to work. I figured everyone's had an off day so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I let him know we had not been here before and asked if he could make sure to explain how it works. I got a mumbled answer about how many pieces you can order at a time. I asked how we will know what each meat is, is it labeled? He said no he'd tell me. The rest was frustrating. Not only did he set the meat down and literally dash away as fast as possible, if I asked what it was I was met with annoyance. When I asked for some forks, for a table of 9, he brought exactly two and then disappeared. When I got up and found someone to ask for forks, I was told I HAD to get those from my server. When I asked if they could just go grab some since he disappeared and wasn't coming back, I was told no. We had to ask him. I finally asked directly if the host could just let our waiter know. We got the forks and after that he seemed to come around more but we just felt like the entire time we were guessing on how it worked. TL;DR The variety of food and some excellent service are what brings us back. Notable lesson: Ask your server to let you know when the last order will be taken. Ambiance: Large dining area with ample seating. I'm partial to booths and this establishment has plenty. They also have tables in case you're not up for the AYCE. This is a place to enjoy food with others, especially with a grill in between. Not a fan of the smoke off the grill? There are no drop down exhaust fans that block conversations, but they're built into the table. Is it smokeless in the dining area? All I can say is if I can describe what people are having four tables away from me, I think it's alright. Food: Variety and choice meats are important, and they are both above sufficient for the two hours you get to dine AYCE. Whether you're an adventurous eater or not, there is something for everyone. I do stress it is a grilled food restaurant, so try not to expect much of some items like their bibimbap. Also, AYCE does not include drinks unless it's water. Service: We enjoyed every server we've had, but three stood out. Let's begin with the two who were especially unforgettable for good reasons. Emilee and Kelvin, thank you for your excellent service. Emilee's smile and manner made us feel welcomed and comfortable. As many tables as we saw her cater to, she never let us feel ignored. Kelvin is also a great team player. Just as knowledgeable of the menu as Emilee, he also jumped in to help so that none of the tables were left waiting. Both served us very well, and left us supremely impressed. When there is a time limit, this is absolutely important. No customer wants to feel like they paid too much to receive so little and wait for so long, regardless if it's AYCE. Which brings us to Sue. My husband remembers Sue as the server who refused to take our order after an hour, but most of her service time spent changing the grill (which is bizarre considering she didn't take many orders from us; more on that later). We sat at one of her eight booths at 11:34 am, and she abandoned us after taking two orders and changing our grill multiple times. Maybe Sue expected us to order all the items we wanted, stack all those orders on top of each other for the first hour, then the second hour we should just eat and not bother her anymore. I understand she didn't have a helpful team member, making service slow. I'm sure she knew her limits and so was quick to serve fillers like corn cheese and gyeran jjim. Another notable fact is our receipt showed we ordered multiples of items, but we NEVER recieved as many plates as she entered (because she didn't come to our table that many times to allow us to order). I am sorely disappointed she literally abandoned us for 30 minutes when we wanted to make our last order. When she finally came back to us at 1 pm, about 1.5 hours after being seated, she told us we've been seated longer than two hours and she can't serve us anymore. How did we pass the two hour limit when the restaurant opens at 11:30 am and she stopped serving us at 12:40 pm. If she had not abandoned our table and took our last order at 12:40 pm, we would have finished and left before the two hour time limit. Overall: 3.5 stars but rounding up because of other well-mannered representatives like Emilee's sister. 5 stars for all the times we visited and were not served by Sue. 2.5 star experience being served by Sue. I would give this place zero stars if I could. The only reason I'm giving it one star is because our waitress provided decent service. Everything else about the experience was frustrating and disappointing. We stopped going to Manna BBQ years ago after terrible service at the Glendale location. After a couple of years, I decided to give the Peoria location a second chance. That was a mistake. We were seated at 7:50 PM and told that we could not order any more food after 8:15 PM. That gave us only 25 minutes to order at an all-you-can-eat restaurant, yet they still charged us full price. We were told about the cutoff, but that does not make it fair. If customers are not going to receive the full dining experience, they should not be charged the full price. They also charge you for meat you do not finish, which would be more understandable if the meat were actually good. Unfortunately, the quality was terrible. Even after adding salt and butter, it still tasted cheap and low quality. I had to force myself to eat food I did not even enjoy just so we would not be charged extra for leaving it behind. Paying full price to rush through low-quality meat and then worrying about an additional charge is ridiculous. This was their second chance, and there will not be a third. There are plenty of Korean BBQ restaurants with better meat, better flavor, better prices, and policies that do not make customers feel rushed and ripped off. We called prior to make sure they had availability. They said yes. We showed up, signed onto their waitlist, and proceeded to wait for about 45 minutes. He explained everything to us ahead of time and made sure our drinks were refilled, grill plate changed out etc. all of the meats we tried were great. My favorite was probably the marinated boneless short ribs. They bring a large amount of meat out each time so everyone can share. There's a 2 hour time limit but we were done after 90 min we could only eat 3 rounds worth of meat, they give you a lot of meat each time. I will definitely be back. We dined at Manna last night and were initially enjoying our meal. After being seated, we were served our first round of KBBQ meats, and I was especially enjoying the kimchi stew. Unfortunately, on my fourth bite of soup, I found what appeared to be a metal grill bristle wire in the stew. I immediately alerted our waiter and asked to speak with a manager. At that point, my appetite was completely ruined, and my partner and I decided to end our meal and leave. A staff member came over and explained that there was no manager on duty, only a team of leaders, and offered to take a percentage off our bill. While I appreciate the offer, this was a serious health and safety issue that went beyond a simple discount. I expressed concern that the entire pot of stew should be checked immediately to prevent this from happening to another guest. I feel very fortunate that I noticed the wire before accidentally ingesting it, as this could have caused serious injury or complications. Always enjoy coming to a KBBQ that is AYCE! We arrived for a late lunch and early dinner and were seated right away. It was the perfect time to visit because there were practically no customers. Our server heated up our grill and began taking our orders, as we are no strangers to Korean BBQ. We started off with their Green Salad, Tofu Stew, Beef Brisket, Beef Bulgogi, and Beef Galbi. All orders come with banchan, and they are always paired well with white rice. I love their Green Salad - it is a simple salad but that vinaigrette is awesome! The Tofu Stew was also very tasty with a little hint of spice. These usually cost over ten dollars a bowl and you can get unlimited amounts here. We are huge fans of beef, so we primarily ordered those, but they offer so much more on the menu, like shrimp or chicken. Some of the beef were not the best cuts of meat, but it is all-you-can-eat, so no complaints there. Our server was very attentive and constantly refilled our meats and cleaned our grill. We went as soon as they opened to beat the crowd.
