Do I recommend this place? Absolutely not. The brisket was dry as all get out. When the guy came over and asked how the food was, I told him straight up. He just gave me an annoyed stare--no words--and walked off. Comes back later with "moist" brisket and explains, "sometimes you get the fatty, sometimes the lean." Yeah, I get how brisket works. But that first cut was bone dry. Maybe ask before serving? Either way, moist or lean--it didn't matter. There was zero flavor. Cornbread? Cold and just plain bad. We tried the banana pudding... and honestly, it looked off right away. More of a clear-ish glaze instead of that normal yellow color you'd expect. This is my go to place for brisket and sweet tea! The place is not huge which is a big deal for me, and the staff is always friendly. They won me over several months ago (during football season) because my first visit there I was wearing a Clemson shirt, and they switched the game on the TV to the Clemson game. The food is great and it is very reasonably priced! I typically do the 2 meat meal with double brisket. The gold sauce is so good, and being from SC, I'm picky about my mustard based sauces. I've been to a few NakedQ BBQ locations before and had great experiences. I'm a huge fan of brisket, so I was excited to order some (5/16/26) at the Glendale, Az location. Unfortunately, when I sat down to eat, I realized on the very first bite that it was the toughest brisket I've ever had. It was dry, rough, and difficult to eat -- not what I expect from brisket. I brought it back to the counter to politely mention the issue. I stayed calm and respectful throughout the interaction, but the response I received surprised me. Instead of listening to my concern, the employee gave me what felt like a lecture about different cuts of meat and the difference between lean and fatty brisket -- information I already understood. When she finished, nothing about my order had been addressed or resolved. She simply went back to bagging brownies as if this was a routine interaction for her. Confused, I stood there for longer than I should have. I had paid full price for a meal that was clearly disappointing, and was left feeling dismissed rather than helped. I eventually went out to my car and sat there for a while because the interaction caught me off guard. I later came back inside and quietly left the food on the counter because I truly didn't know what else to do. I could have pushed for a refund but at that point I didn't want to create even more tension. NakedQ is our new favorite BBQ place! Ribs are moist but not fatty with mild smoke. Same for the brisket. They call their sauce a Nashville style, gooey with a little bite, maybe halfway between a Kansas City and Carolina sauce. Very good. Mac and cheese is creamy but not the slop bomb as so many barbecue places. Corn bread and coleslaw were also good. The sandwich is a bit smaller than Rudy's, but still generous. Sides were definitely better than most barbecue joints. And the prices are super reasonable. You can eat here for about the same price as Chipotle. It has a fast casual atmosphere and the staff is friendly and on it to keep it clean. Homemade lemonade to top it off. A winner for sure. read more

Employees were standing in conversation behind the counter rather than switching out meats and sides. I took a long time before I ordered and did not notice a single replacing of any meat or side. I ordered a two-meat plate with pulled pork and pulled chicken with sides of mac and cheese, beans, and cornbread which gave me a wide variety of the restaurant's quality. I also ordered 4 cups of the sweet BBQ sauce which costed $18.75. The meat (both pork and chicken) was served from covered warming trays built into the counter. This showed me that the meat was not fresh and had probably been sitting for many minutes. When I ate the meat, my suspicions were confirmed. The meat was extremely dry and had no smoke flavor and tasted like baked meat. The BBQ sauce was thin and lacking flavor requiring me to use store BBQ sauce to have any semblance of flavor. The sides were also subpar. The beans were dry, lacking flavor, and were significantly worse than baked beans sold in cans. The Mac and Cheese was mediocre and didn't taste much better than other fast-food locations. The cornbread was bland and lacking flavor. In all, as someone who enjoys BBQ, this restaurant was extremely subpar and a complete waste of money. Great location, great interior, subpar food. Great, friendly service last night for dinner while running errands. We had the clean restaurant almost to ourselves, while watching a lot of to-go and pick up orders go out the door. The spot is called Naked Q because the meats come out naked and the customer can choose the amount and flavor of sauce they would like to put on their meat at the condiment station. The types of sauces are: warmed sweet barbecue sauce, warmed spicy barbecue sauce, mustard barbecue sauce, Carolina vinegar sauce, and a dry rub shaker. This was our first time here and we were excited to see that they had two different styles of slaw on the menu. One is a spicy vinegar-based slaw and the other is a creamy slaw. We, of course chose the Carolina spicy, vinegar-style slaw and it was very good. The owner gave us a sample of the smoked turkey that had just come out of the smoker and it was so moist and yummy. We had already decided on our meats. I'm always a brisket girl and couldn't wait to try it. We ordered: - Fountain Drink - Unsweetened Tea - Two Meats Platter with choice of two sides and Cornbread - Pulled Pork, Sliced Brisket, Mac n Cheese, Carolina style Slaw - hubs ordered this, and his favorite was the pulled pork which he said was very good. This was a satisfying dinner and he finished everything on his tray. Our server asked if he would like the brisket sliced or chopped and he chose sliced. - Brisket Sandwich with choice of one side. I chose the Carolina style slaw. I loved the chopped brisket on my sandwich after saucing it. I thought the sweet barbecue sauce would be my favorite, but I actually really enjoyed the mustard barbecue sauce and the Carolina vinegar sauce. The bun was a little old and dry for me and I would've preferred a softer brioche or fresher bun, but once the sauce was poured on, it held up and remained sturdy. I loved the Carolina slaw. - Peach Pie - they kept our individual sized tin of peach pie warm until we were done eating our dinner and then brought it out with cold whipped cream on top. Hubs liked this pie and finished most of it. - Banana Pudding - this is a processed pudding in a cup. We were asked if we wanted pieces of vanilla wafers and whipped cream on top and we said yes. There aren't any real bananas in here. Hubs didn't really enjoy the strong artificial banana flavor. I did eat the whole cup myself. It satisfied my sweet tooth. The way things are packaged up and individually portioned here would make it a great place for takeout and to-go ordering or to take on a picnic or somewhere mobile. This small restaurant is part of a strip mall located inside of the Westgate Entertainment District near the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale. They were wonderfully pickled and provided a nice punch with the meat and bbq sauce. The spicy bbq sauce was my preferred of the two. The heat is maybe a 2 out of 5, so not very spicy at all. Once again, the white guy in a rude tone just said, no! Then the cashier explained to us that they don't do military discount on orders over $60. Yes, you read that correctly OVER. Which test that didn't make any sense so I asked is it over $60 or the order has to be over $60 in order to use this discount... and she confirmed no we don't do military discount on orders over $60. That didn't make any sense to me you'd think it'd be the other way around. Now let's get to actually eating the food, which is what I'm doing at this very moment... the meat was pretty dry. The ribs were OK. The sauce is pretty good (4/5 stars for both sauces). The macaroni and cheese taste decent if you add a little salt to it I don't really mess with beans like that but my wife said the beans were "a shame." so I'm just going to take a wild guess and say those were not very tasty and the cornbread literally had no taste at all. It was LITERALLY like just putting a flavorless piece of cake in your mouth.. It was moist though. I only gave this place two stars because of the cashier at the front counter the cleanliness and ambience. I did not get the young woman's name, but she was very kind. In from NJ and not wanting to wander too far in the sun, I walked the two blocks south of my hotel to the outer edge of Westgate and into NakedQ for a two meat platter. The menu is pretty standard: you have your meats (brisket, pulled chicken, pulled pork, smoked turkey, ribs, hot links) and your sides (slaw, beans, mac and cheese, veggies). My platter of smoked turkey, chopped brisket, mac and cheese, Carolina style slaw, and a piece of cornbread came out from the counter in just a few minutes. While the brisket was dry and the slaw lacked much punch or flavor other than vinegar, the turkey was excellent: moist and smokey. I spent $120 for dinner for our family. The barbecue sauce is watery and runny. It's almost like someone put water in it to stretch it out. NakedQ is a casual BBQ restaurant with (at this time) with three locations in metro Phoenix. The Glendale location is located in Westgate. It's casual you order and pay at the counter and seat yourself. It's called Naked BBQ because the food is seasoned nicely and doesn't come swimming in sauce but you can add on sauces yourself. My personal favorite meats I tried from NakedQ are the turkey and once in a while as a special they offer smoked corned beef. THOSE ARE BOMB! All the food is good but the turkey is extra special.
