    Dry brisket

Guy in the back was extremely rude brisket dry as can be food barely even warm very disappointing .Been once before total different experience

This is a lesson on how not to serve bbq. The chicken was dry. The brisket had more fat on it than meat and protein. The side of broccoli was cold and brown. There was no smoke taste in any of the meat. No bbq flavor in the beans. Very disappointing experience. Not even any smoke rings on the meat.

Well, this was an unexpected surprise. Yelp led me here for dinner last Friday night as I'm always interested in a good bbq restaurant. Naked BBQ is located very close to I-17 on the end cap of a strip center with parking out front. Inside, it's a counter service restaurant with a smallish dining area next to a self serve drink fountain. Two bbq sauces are also available there. A sweet one and a spicy one. I asked for a two meat platter with two sides for $16. I chose sliced brisket and pulled chicken with beans and potato salad. The platter also came with some cornbread and is prepared in front of you as it is selected. Immediately, I noticed the very generous serving sizes of everything on the platter. It was a lot of food and a steal for $16. The brisket was moist cut (with fat) and had a nice bark on it. It was tasty and tender with good flavor. The pulled chicken was also flavorful and tender and with some of the sweet sauce on top delicious. I also tried some of the spicy sauce and found it to be only slightly spicy so I enjoyed it also on the meats. The baked beans had some brisket in them (a plus) and were in a savory broth. I enjoyed them. Finally the potato salad was served cool and while mayo based also had a little bit of mustard and along with the other ingredients was quite good tasting too. With the moist cornbread, I could find no fault with this meal. My only very slight criticism (no stars deducted) is that I thought both bbq sauces while flavorful were a little bit runny. I would have liked more body to them however I am nitpicking. This meal was a 4+ and when I add the price and large serving sizes, I must give a 5 here. This is an excellent BBQ restaurant!

Two meat platter with a cornbread and two mac n cheese sides.

A two meat platter costs $17.38 which is what I ordered. I decided to try their brisket (you can either get this sliced or chopped) and jalepeno hot link along with two orders of mac n cheese since a platter already comes with one cornbread. They have a vegetable of the day side but I decided against it since they weren't making one that I liked. This two meat platter is more than enough for me to get full. The only thing I didn't finish is half of a sliced brisket. I have to say that I liked the jalepeno hot links the most even though it wasn't spicy at all. They have spicy and sweet BBQ sauce too. The entire meal was absolutely delicious.

Got a two meat combo and brisket and Ribs were awesome !!! Tried Carolina coleslaw and was strong but a great compliment to the meat. Potato salad was also good!! Did I say it was good! Best in the valley !!

Driving by, I decided to stop and grab something to go! It smelt delicious. Smoked Bbq is one of my favorites. Easy to order. Decided on a half rack of ribs. The sauce comes on the side. 5 different kinds! Ribs were meaty! They could have been more tender though, like fall off the bone as soon as you bite in. Also the Rib rub was pretty ligjht. I did like the price though. Very affordable for not doing the base of the work. When I got home, I added seasonings and cooked them a little longer Yummy for my tummy! I'll try pulled pork or brisket next time.

Pretty mediocre BBQ for the most part. The ribs aren't terrible, but the rest was relatively bland.

The live DJ was INCREDIBLE and really brought the energy. Service was great as well. One thing to know before you go: it gets LOUD, especially on the weekends. We had a hard time hearing each other talk at times, so if you have sensitive ears or prefer a quieter, more relaxed brunch, I'd probably recommend going somewhere a little more low-key. That said, the lively atmosphere is definitely part of the experience, and we personally loved the vibe. Great food, good drinks, amazing music, and lots of energy. If you're looking for a brunch where you can eat, drink, listen to great music, and have a good time, Sugarjam is definitely worth checking out.

We made our reservation online and were seated right away, which made for a great start to our celebration. It took a little while for our waitress to come to our table, but the restaurant was very busy since it was the weekend. Once she arrived, she was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout our visit. One thing we really enjoyed was the live DJ, who kept the atmosphere fun with excellent music. We were seated toward the back of the restaurant, which worked out perfectly for our large party and gave us plenty of space to enjoy our meal together. For drinks, we ordered two Bloody Marys, two beers, a mimosa flight, waters, and lemonades. The only disappointment was the Bloody Marys. For the price, we expected them to be garnished with olives and the traditional toppings that usually come with a Bloody Mary. Our table ordered a variety of dishes, including the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes, Chicken & Waffles, Flapjack Tenders, the French Toast Sandwich (served with breakfast potatoes and syrup), Oxtails with Dirty Rice, and Catfish & Grits. Overall, the food was delicious. The Cinnamon Roll Pancakes were good, although we expected a little more cinnamon roll flavor and icing, similar to what we've experienced at other restaurants. The biggest disappointment was the oxtails. While they were flavorful and well-prepared, the portion size was smaller than expected, especially considering the $43 price tag. A helpful tip for anyone visiting with a large group: the restaurant will only split the check into two separate bills, so it's a good idea to bring cash or plan your payment arrangements in advance. Overall, we had a wonderful experience celebrating our sister's birthday. The lively atmosphere, great music, delicious food, and attentive service made for an enjoyable brunch. We look forward to returning in the future. We also learned that the owner has another restaurant called Soulful Tacos, which we're excited to try soon.

I've eaten at Mrs. Whites for many years, and every time I want to go back to real southern cooking this is where I come to. Companion and I dropped in for lunch, and there was so much food that we skipped dinner. I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken. 3 pan fried pieces that are juicy and golden brown. For sides I had mixed greens with hot sauce and mac and cheese. The collards were tender and delicious and the mac and cheese didn't even come close fo K..... Dinner. It was loaded with cheese and truly memorable. It also came with a large piece of homemade cornbread with lots of butter on top. Companion ordered the child's plate which is 2 pieces of chicken and and 2 sides. Ordered were cole slaw and mac and cheese. Because we are both diabetics, we both ordered unsweetened tea, but I really wanted a glass of the sweet tea which you get all through the south. We had planned on getting the wonderful peach cobbler for dessert, but we were so full that it would have been impossible to get down. Other items on the menu are smothered pork chops, fried catfish, and chicken fried steak as well as a host of other items. The restaurant recently underwent a complete renovation and it is really nice inside. Lest I forget to mention it, This is a small place that has been here for as long as I can remember. Popped in before a Suns game, an easy walk past Chase Field. It was good to get away from the usual pregame options. The place was clean and inviting, and had a little bit of a "back in time" feel without being dated. Quickly and pleasantly welcomed and seated. Then came the hard part, making choices. We had fried chicken and fried catfish, with sides of Mac and Cheese, macaroni salad (yep, Mac two ways), greens and mashed potatoes with gravy. All were great, obviously home made from longstanding recipes. Especially into the greens, which were bursting with flavor. The catfish was delish, and my wife called the fried chicken the best she ever had. Saved room for peach cobbler, which was served smoking hot. The perfect sweet end to the savory meal. Next time I'm all in on pork chops, which looked amazing. And we will come on a Sunday, the only day dressing is available as a side option. If you're looking for a meal that feels like a friend had you over for supper, go here! Thanks Mrs. White's family!

Tucked back in a small building, just off Southern Avenue, you'll find Southern Fried. It is a small little walk in store front, so plan ahead to order out. We went ahead and ordered online to make things simple and easy. As shown on their building and advertised they show they serve Jamaican food so I was pretty let down when I looked at the menu to discover they do not have any Jamaican food. Seeing pictures of previous Yelp reviews of jerk chicken and oxtail left me bummed. We ended up ordering the fried okra, fried mushrooms, the 2 fish and 5 shrimp combo, along with the fried catfish and fries. We took our food to go and headed home, just around the corner. Once opening the containers i instantly got excited about the mushrooms. Anyone that knows me knows i am mushroom obsessed. With a quick dip in the ranch that came with and popping one into my mouth.... Yummmm! The okra was a bit of a miss. It seems they were still a bit slimy. Moving along to our main courses, I was disappointed to find that our fish was packed on top of our fries and the fries were very limp, soggy and unseasoned. I think packing the takeout differently could easily eliminate this issue. The catfish and shrimp were seasoned to perfection. They both had a perfect blend of spice and a light and crispy batter. I would love to see Jamaican food on the menu, as the advertising is a bit deceptive. Overall I would definitely be willing to try them again and would love to give one of their burgers a taste test.
