You'd think I would have learned by now that I have to change my clothes first but no. I got home with the pulled pork sandwich with the coleslaw with the nice dress on, didn't even put on an apron. Didn't tuck a napkin into my collar. Didn't put it on a plate and use a knife and a fork. And worst of all, didn't learn the lesson not to sneak a spare rib from the order of ribs first before the sandwich. Oh that rib! Could it be that it was even better than last time, even juicier, more tender, more flavorful? Has Mr. Harris found better pigs to roast? Yum! I always get some sauce on the side but the truth is that Harris ribs are the only ones in my lifetime that don't need any sauce! Okay back to that sandwich, that Carolina style sandwich with coleslaw on top of pulled pork. I am not supposed to be eating them anymore, gluten and pork are no-nos but it's been so long and I just wanted one so bad. I started eating it and my dogs are looking at me with real jealousy, and it is so big and delicious and moist and messy. I can't finish it. Blame it on the rib. I've written previous reviews for Harris, having now been enjoying their BBQ for five years since discovering it by accident upon turning off I-10 on a different exit than usual coming home to Buckeye. Residing in the deep South for ten years gave me much exposure to true pit smoked BBQ in many styles depending upon the state, and in some cases, the county. Harris is the real deal and worth the trip from Phoenix. On top of that, the prices are reasonable and everything is homemade and from scratch with the exception of the dinner rolls, but even they are quality. If you dream of Hog Heaven, Harris is it, though they also do chicken, brisket, hot links, and heavenly fried fish with a choice of cod or catfish served with cole slaw and fries. Chicken and French fries was fine for kids, standard you would get at any fast food ( fills the belly, but nothing to write home about). I was looking forward to trying the brisket nachos, but to my disappointment it was a well cooked piece of beef that was tender, but was not BBQ brisket. Most of the brisket was doused in BBQ sauce covering the flavor, but few pieces of brisket I found with no sauce were rather bland with minimal one-dimensional smoke flavor. We recently discovered this new BBQ food truck in Buckeye...and it's pretty darn good! They are located on Jackrabbit near Circle K south of the 10 Tuesday through Friday, and at the Tractor Supply on Miller on Saturday. Closed on Sunday & Monday. Since finding the place, we have eaten there twice. Both meals were consistently good. This is what we have tried thus far: Chopped Brisket Sandwich - Religious experience level good! Tender, juicy brisket piled high on a delicious toasted roll with just a hint of their tangy sauce. Chopped Pork Sandwich - Good, but not up to the brisket's quality. In fairness, I prefer my BBQ pork pulled rather than chopped. Hot Link Hoagie - Spicy smoked sausage sliced into thin disks and piled into a long roll with sauce. The sausage was actually quite tasty, but maybe too much sauce on my sandwich and the hoagie roll is not as good as the regular sandwich rolls. St. Louis Ribs - These are awesome, served with or without sauce by your choice. They are smoked perfectly, are very meaty, and feature a nice black pepper rub. Smoked Chicken - Good, but the white meat was a tiny bit on the dry side. It is complimented nicely by their sauce, I must say. Beans - My wife loved these. Tender pinto style beans with chili-style seasoning. Was that a bit of cumin in there? Yum! Overall we are extremely excited to have some great BBQ locally here in Buckeye. I stopped at about 4pm, so in writing this review, I am taking into consideration I may not have gotten the best available ribs and chicken. I got the small Q pack. Overall, it was really good. I would say we enjoyed the sides more than we did the actual meat. For my wife and I, it was a tad too smoky for us. But we devoured the sides. I really enjoyed the beans. Spicy with a hint of smoke.
