Decided to try a new spot in the west valley. We came across this black owned establishment. Food was fresh and cooked to order. Came out sizzling hot and with great flavor. We ordered the heavy platter and got the fries and drink upgrade to a kool aid. The food-chicken, catfish, shrimp was all flavorful and good without any of the dipping sauces. The fries were just that fries. Nothing special about em. The blue kool aid was also good in contrast to the red. I'm not sure if size mattered. The large blue kool aid was good. The regular size red kool aid was so-so. Service was very much a let me take your order and get to the next guy type of feel. We ordered take out and enjoyed the food on the way back home. Would come back to try the bbq now as they had rib tips and turkey tips on the menu.

A small hole in the wall place can use a good cleaning slow service make sure you check your order. Rib tips were not seasoned just brined in liquid smoke. That was the only flavor which was over powering. Wing were cooked well but just like the ribs they had no flavor same as the catfish but catfish was the best part of the meal. Peach cobbler was too dense and peach was not at the forefront. Customer service needs a big overhaul. Cashier was not enthusiastic and offered no hospitality at all. The food did not taste as if cooked fresh. No napkins were offered over all i did not enjoy the meal but the customer service could have made this review a little better. I sincerely hope it gets better and enjoy the success they deserve.

Great food! Great Service! Very friendly staff and the food is definitely a taste of Chicago! If you're from the Midwest or Chicago area and you're missing the good food, this place tastes like home.

My first time in Mike spotted this place grabbing wings at another spot. Which they have wings on the menu here too. I got the hotlink combo with potato salad side. Mike got rib tips, with fries and a side order of the baked Mac. Upon walking in my taste buds were talking for sure as they got it smelling inside. The space is not the biggest but cozy for our lil hangout adventures. They got a lil line while we waited for our food which didn't take long at all so that a good sign on some real smoked love, and meaty goodness. Great cultural music for a dinning room and the urban eat in crowd. They deserts look bomb. I do wish they had a restroom open to the public as we dine in often a lot being on lunch and leisure but I wash my hands often and dealing with bar b que it's just like oh man. But I ate all my food which y'all know is a big deal for y'a girl. The sides were decent and they remind me of a cookout.

Listen!!! Do NOT miss this culinary experience!!! Happened upon this gem tucked nicely in a bustling strip mall and we are sooo glad we did!!! As Chicago natives we are ALWAYS leery of someone claiming THEE city, but Taste My City is IT!!! Soon as we walked in we were transported to the Southside!!! We ordered a bucket of tips, some catfish, shrimp, mac and cheese, green beans, peach cobbler and cake. (I know...greedy) There was not one thing that won't become a part of our regular rotation. Tender tips, perfect fried seafood...hammercy!!! We got 'Chicago Style' wasted!!! Do yourself a favor and grab 3/4 friends and treat yourself! You will NOT regret it!!!

Take you friends here and definitely give their hard cider a go! -------------- Food Items: - smoked brisket: it was flavorful and just absurdly amazing. Additionally, the spice blend is amazing. The meat is just super tender and hardly tastes dry at all. A must have. - sausage: I cannot speak for this because of my dairy allergen and they weren't quite sure but definitely seems great - pork smoked ends: These were absolutely my favorite. From the sauce to the tenderness and the distinct umami from the wood smoke mixing into the pork and the fat from the cut being so tender it just melts on your tongue. Overall you have to go here and this is one of my favorite restaurants, and TAKE your friends here! The ambiance is great and the music isn't too loud where you cannot hear each other!

Comfortable, sorta on the dark side. Classy. As I was not driving today, I decided to try their smoked Old Fashioned. Excellent -- and the dark cherries they use are the perfect addition to the cocktail. (The glass is coated with smoke from a smoldering piece of pecan wood, and the cocktail was served with a cloud of smoke under a coaster covering the glass.) The pig sickles ( ribs) were the perfect chance to make a pig of myself. Had the two meat plate, pig sickles and barbecued pulled chicken, If you like corn, you must have the side of corn with your dinner. The barbecue beans were delicious. Our server did a magnificent job tending to our drinks, appetizer, and food orders -- despite being very busy (the place was packed! -- and seemed like she was in constant motion. Very nice individual who liked la Prices? It was expensive, but the best barbecue always is. Eating isn't cheap. It was well worth every dollar spent. All in all, it was a perfect dinner. The perfect parting gift: a small paper bag containing four small donuts, coated with cinnamon. Our bag didn't make it home... I think we've found the perfect place to bring our family and out-of-town guests for dinner.

People come here for the meats: brisket, ribs, pulled pork, BUT!!! Have you had this GREEN CHILE BURRITO?! I beg you to try it if you have not... most people don't know they even have it, but luckily, for my coworker and I, Director of Operations Matt, walked up to us as we dined in last Wednesday and let us sample the Green Chile. As most of you know, I can't hang when it comes to spicy foods, but this chile is THE EXCEPTION (even though it's only "mildly" spicy). We each ordered the 2 meat plate, but we were so appreciative of the sample he gave us, otherwise we would never have known about it. We ended up ordering 2 burritos for our lunch the very next day!! You can also add cheese to it! I went in again for the 3rd day in a row on Friday, since I'm not sure when I'll work in that area again (I was 10 min away all last week)!! I asked my boss if I could work there on Mondays and Fridays, that's how good this burrito is!! They also have a MEAN Pecan Pie. It's called Bekke's Smoked Pecan Pie and it too, is a must try item! Matt told us it's a secret recipe from one of their employees and the crusts are hand pressed daily. Using a machine is just NOT the same, and I believe it! Since I am not sure when I'll make my way back there, I also bought another pie on Friday. So far, I've only had 1 slice because I need to ration accordingly! Prior to my 3 visits last week, I went to this location last July, when a friend was visiting from out of town. The place is clean and welcoming, and they have the best customer service! On Thursday and Friday when I ordered online and picked up, my orders were ready before the estimated pick up time! Mark was at the pick up window both times and he rocks!! I had forgotten to ask for the Banana Pudding I ordered on Wednesday when we dined in. I called as I drove home, realizing I left without it. Amanda was super friendly when she answered the phone and assured me I would have it when I came the next day. Mark delivered and had it in my bag the next day when I picked up our burritos. Service with a smile is what you'll get here! You cannot go wrong no matter what you order here! The meats are absolutely perfect and the flavor profile on everything is mind-blowing! Do yourself a favor and ask for the Green Chile anything next time you're here. Tell them I sent you! Don't sleep on the Banana Pudding or Bekke's Smoked Pecan Pie, either. Something about that smoking process makes the pie stand out from every other pecan pie you've ever tasted, trust me. It's also NOT super sweet like you're probably used to. If you call in, you can't place an order by phone, so do it online and you'll get a text with an estimated time of pick up. You can skip the line inside, too. Just walk up to the pick up window and you're good to go when you ring the little doorbell. There is plenty of parking outside and they even have a large patio space should you choose to dine outside. Thank you, Matt, Mark, Amanda and the rest of the crew at Little Miss BBS Sunnyslope for such a pleasant experience every single time!! I will be back for sure! Don't forget to try the Prickly Pear Lemonade (spiked with vodka -- my choice of poison)! enJOY!!

Such a friendly and attentive young woman. We enjoyed chatting with her. Excellent bartender with great recommendations. I took her advice, and had the Prickly Pear Mule. Good flavor, and different than the ordinary mule. My husband had Makers Mark neat & a Dos Equis with a very cold glass. We moved to a booth, and ordered the smoked wings as an appetizer. They were outstanding! Served with carrots, celery, and 3 sauces on the side...buffalo, ranch, and bbq. It was such a generous serving , but we were determined to finish them. Next, we each ordered the 2 meat platter. I had St. Louis ribs with brisket, Mac and cheese, and the bbq beans. My husband ordered the baby back ribs, brisket, bbq beans, and pecan Cole slaw. We were both served a piece of cornbread which was so good. I also had a smoked Old Fashioned. The presentation was very well done! Finally, to top it off, Audrey brought a piece of chocolate with ice cream for my husband's birthday! The food was spectacular, and made us determined to return, possibly the next day for the fried fish! It's actually a 1 1/2 hour drive to get there, but well worth it! The concept is simple: order your meat by the pound, pick your sides, grab a dessert, and snag a beer, specialty soda, or fountain drink on your way to the register. The dining room is basically a redneck cafeteria, and I mean that as a compliment. Long community tables, no table service, and everything is self-serve. Honestly, I prefer it that way. I can grab as much white bread as I want, refill my own drink, never have to flag someone down for napkins, and I've had some great conversations with other patrons. The brisket is consistently good, and I always order it moist. The jalapeño cheddar sausage is another favorite, but the baked beans deserve their own mention. They're loaded with bits of shredded pork that add both texture and smoky flavor, making them one of the better barbecue sides around. Rudy's is one of those chains that doesn't feel like a chain. The focus is on the meat, and it shows. It delivers the consistency you'd expect from a larger operation while still feeling like a neighborhood barbecue joint.
