Bop & Roll was our daughter's choice for Saturday night Take-Out and we believe she chose well. Clearly one of the benefits of having a multicultural household. She's always on the lookout for good Asian-fusion places and with Bop & Roll, she hit a home run. Bop & Roll is a small mom and pop place, within a hundred feet of Harkins Cine Capri. In normal times, I remembered them to be quite busy, but thanks to COVID, it was empty tonight. The menu has lots of fast food Korean dishes, that most would recognize immediately. They prepare their food both spicy and mild, but we found their spicy wasn't too bad. The key is ordering off-menu. What a surprise, right? So go to their website instead of the delivery App when ordering or you'll miss their delicious Kpop Bulgogi Burrito (photo). It was simply outstanding, and a must. Another tasty treat was their Bulgogi & Dumpling Ramen (photo), and the potato croquettes. But as we've found with most Korean places, Bulgogi or Bibimbap anything, is usually outstanding and Bop & Roll is no exception. You should expect to pay around $15 each, as we did tonight. Enjoy. WOW WOW WOW! Where to start? Severely exceeded my expectations on food quality. I got the japche (glass noodle) bop bowl (over white rice) with chicken bulgogi added. There were some crisp fresh veggies included on the side with a sweet sauce drizzled over. I'm used to getting wilted steamed veggies at this type of place and was so pleased. The red bottle has hot sauce that was slightly sweet. The food was outstanding. I was expecting an assembly line style delivery like chipotle but all the food was cooked and served HOT and fresh off the wok / grill. My meal was $15 and was a lot of food so realistically two meals in one. The lady who served me I assume is the owner. She was so attentive and upbeat and enthusiastic. The staff there is hustling and they don't miss a beat. They remember the little things like offering you hot sauce and asking you how you enjoyed your meal on the way out. The staff clearly takes pride in their restaurant and the food that they serve. I loved it! The vibe is not very comfortable since it gets cold when the door opens and it's a pretty small restaurant without much to offer for decor. Some of the tables were kind of dirty when I got there. If I could change one thing it would be that they give you a tiny cup for water and I drink a lot of water so I'll need to bring my own bottle next time. Also it can be hard to read the menu behind the counter since there are so many items. It feels kinda rushed trying to figure out what you want when the person is waiting for you to order. Decided to grab a takeout order from Bop and Roll when I was the area and was pleasantly surprised by the taste and service. I decided to order online via Yelp for ease of paying and picking it up. I wanted something light to eat so I just went with the veggie roll whereas my friend got the kpop bulgogi. It was easy to drop by and pick up the food in a relatively short period of time and both orders were ready to go. I loved that they offered homemade gochujang for the kpop bulgogi. Definitely made me want to get a bowl the next time so I could try some of that goodness! The veggie roll was fairly priced for the size and was pretty good. My friend really enjoyed his kpop bulgogi and said the gochujang was delicious. I will most likely try this place again if I find myself in the area! We came here for a late Friday night cause we always love Korean food. Always wanted to try Bop and Roll. It seems like a majority of their business is take out but we decided to eat there and see what they have. Anyhow, I ordered the K-POP Japchae without any protein. Anyhow, the glass noodles were over a bed of brown rice with grilled vegetables. I thought it was pretty good. Not the best japchae but it was good with lots of assorted vegetables. Filling me up too. Loved it My wife got the chicken udon. She just raved about the udon and especially the soup. She gobbled it up and really enjoyed it a lot. So what you do is order at the counter and find a table. They will bring your food to the table and clean the table for you. The lady at the counter was very friendly and very Korean. Ordered the take out online and my husband picked up. Still dealing with Covid restrictions but trying to support local businesses. The online process was easy and simple. 5 stars for the online ordering and gluten free options. The pricing was fair for what we received. It was an additional charge for upgraded black rice and egg for the bi bim bap. I ordered the vegetable bi bim bap with upgraded rice and egg. No sauce. It wasn't the traditional bi bim bap I'm used to. The Vegetables weren't chopped and it was mostly cabbage and broccoli. My husband got the chicken bi bam bap. They gave us gluten free soy sauce and gochujang. Also got the side order of Kim chi for $1.99. Tasted perfect to me. Made the meal complete. Ordered the BentoBop KPOP Bulgogi which includes a skillet of Bulgogi over your choice of white rice or brown rice, I choose the white rice, plus 2 gyozas, salad and California rolls for $10.99. Was definitely worth the price and very delicious. Many choices of different items such as Sushi, Bulgogi, Katsu, Chicken, Beef, Tofu, Edamame, Soup, Egg Rolls, Yakisoba, Udon and Ramen. There is also a kid's menu. All prices are very reasonable and good quantity of food. The inside of the restaurant is narrow with a good portion of seating, but outside there are also many cozy covered tables that are shaded or covered from the sun. It is a nice little restaurant and the owners are very friendly and helpful. In fact, my daughter was sitting against the wall and her cellphone accidentally fell behind the seat between the wall, the owners helped pull the bench seat away from the wall got a long cooking tool to move the phone to an area where she was able to retrieve the phone. This place is very near my house and I was excited to try it. When I walked in and realized that it was the order at a computer service, and they bring it to you, I was instantly disappointed. Food is rarely decent at those kinds of places. I tried the ramen first, and the noodles were stuck shaped like the corner of a packaged ramen still. I had added chicken and there was no flavor to the broth, and the chicken tasted old. I tried my daughter's Udon Bowl and it was only slightly better. Walking in here smells amazing! Decor is nice and the walls are colorful. Staff was friendly, it's a bit of a wait so it's probably best to order online or call it in if you're on a time constraint. Food is great! I got the chicken bulgogi bento and the chicken was really flavorful. It's a really decent size portion, and comes with rice, a macaroni salad, sushi, and gyoza. I wanted to love this place ... maybe it's better as eat-in? We ordered shrimp tempura and gyoza as appetizers. Hubby got the beef bulgogi and I had the side of seaweed salad. The shrimp tempura was pretty tasty with the sweet chili sauce, but the side sauce that - usually - is a soy and vinegar combo tasted like soy and water. We didn't use it at all. While the shrimp was tasty, at $9.99 it wasn't cheap. The gyoza was delicious and very well-priced but, again, what is with the sauce?! My husband thought the meat and rice was tasty, but the veggies were mostly lettuce and were room temp at best. The seaweed... tasted off. I love seaweed salad, from a number of places, but this just tasted a little fishier and older than I'm used to. Even the soy didn't help much. A hidden gem! Tucked away in the far corner of the Scottsdale 101 shopping mall, this little Korean/Asian Fusion restaurant is easy to overlook. However, now that I know it's here I will be sure to visit frequently. I had the Bulgogi Bop with brown rice. The meat was perfectly cooked,, and it tasted great without it drowning in sauce. All the vegetables were cooked just enough, not soggy to where they've lost their flavor and life. I had mine with brown rice, and I'm pretty picky about brown rice. So, I usually get white rice. Today, I decided to give it a try. Often dry and undercooked in other places, the brown rice here is excellent. The bibimop was what I was so excited about ... while it wasn't awful it wasn't amazing . Definitely had to add a bit of the spicy and soy sauce . The sad part was the bento chicken bulgogi...sooo many fatty pieces I gave up . While it had the potential to have good flavor the amount of fat lost it . I've been here a couple of times. I got their teriyaki chicken which was a little over cooked but their California roll was excellent. Probably one of the best I've ever had and at only 6 bucks I had to pinch myself. My favorite thing I've eaten here so far is the gyoza. It was DELICIOUS. We had the Crunch shrimp roll, the fire cracker till, and the spicy golden California roll. The rolls were great with ample portions. I recently found this little gem while I was doing some work in Northern Scottsdale. I used Yelp to find a local place, and I was ecstatic over the reviews of this location. Based on my experience here, I will write my review and break it down in sections if you want to focus on one thing over another. Location/Decor: The location is within a strip mallish area in Northern Scottsdale, and it on the very far NW side of the mall. It's hard to miss! The decoration on the outside shows some outside seating with booths and coverage from the sun. There aren't any misters or fans though, if they had those it would really elevate this location! Inside it smaller, you can maybe fit 20? but they have an open kitchen so you can see your food being prepped! Big menu on the wall, plus paper ones to review. Food: THE FOOD HERE IS OMG GOOD. Sorry, now that I'm a little bit more under control here lol. They have amazing combo meals that you can choose the protein, and it comes with salad, a California roll, gyoza and other items for about $10 bucks a plate. It was plentiful, and we left the place with a doggy bag! The seasoning was great, and they offer different sauces and condiments to help elevate the food to your liking. Soda station is provided, and I can't remember if there was dessert, so I apologize for that. Service: The staff inside were amazingly nice! I think she was the owner, but she came over and conversed with us, asked if we wanted to go items like spicy Korean bean paste, and other items. She went above and beyond for us, and it really made the experience exceptional. The only reason I didn't give this location 5 stars was because when we went.... THERE WAS NO AC. It was 110 outside, and the restaurant was just as hot on the inside. I started sweating immediately upon entering, and it made for an uncomfortable experience. If the A/C was running, I would've easily given 5 stars. Overall: I will absolutely come back to this location, and call ahead to see if their A/C is running. I'll start off with the positives..the place looked clean and ordering is convenient because there is a touch screen to order on as soon as you walk in. We got our food in a timely manner only waiting about 10 minutes. I got the chicken katsu bento box and the potato salad, rice, gyoza(not sure if that's what they were) and California rolls were all good. I did not like the katsu sauce they use or the smell of it. My husband got the beef and it was dry and only had 1 piece of broccoli in it which was a little disappointing. The cucumber roll and California roll was good. However the chicken teriyaki kids bowl was very bland. The place isn't terrible however if a friend was in the area and asked for recommendations of places to eat this wouldn't be one I would suggest. read more

They are in a large shopping center, and despite using Google Maps, we couldn't find them. So we called, and the very pleasant woman told us to continue past Harkin's theater, they are the very last store in the large shopping center. When we went in, she said :YOU FOUND US: with a big smile on her face. Reflecting after dinner, we were so glad we did! We thought we were ordering two different veggie soups. The Udon noodles veggie style, and the veggie Ramen soup. I wanted some meat, so I also ordered and Avocado/Crab meat sushi roll. When she brought the soups, my wife asked if the Udon broth was veggie. Our server said no, just the Ramon broth was veggie. Not sure where we had the confusion, but maybe it was our mistake because we assumed veggie udon also had a veggie broth. The Ramon clearly stated veggie broth, but the Udon did not. Oh well - we dug in. Both soups were excellent. And a word of caution - If you don't like spice, clearly tell your order taker. We ordered the Udon mild, and I needed to add Siracha. The Ramon, also ordered mild packed some residual heat. Not too much, but just enough to bring out the flavor. While I was waiting for the Udon to cool, I ate the sushi. I was just going to have a few pieces, but it was so good I ended up eating all of it. Then I polished off my Udon. This place doesn;t have much atmosphere, but the friendly staff make up for it.
